du Garbandier
How does a player, currently starting his fourth season with me, come to be 'unfamiliar' with the principal tactic I've been employing all that time?
Bruiser419
Did you change the setting such as balanced, positive, etc? Is he playing a different position specialization? BWM instead of CM for example.
thecaveman
This issue has been there since day one. Move player A (100% Tactically Familiar) from starting position to bench. Pre-match tactics screen - player A is now concerned because he is unfamiliar with tactics
Prepper_Jack
Yeah, I think some of this boils down to the player being anxious about the match in general, and the game is just a bit cryptic about it. If you go up against a vastly superior opponent with an attacking mentality, even if your players have been using the same mentality all season against mildly superior opponents with good success, they will suddenly become unfamiliar with the mentality. In terms of "tactics" and not mentality, they might be more at ease with the idea of a very defensive shape in the match, like a 5-5-0 or something with everyone on defend duties, instead of the 3-4-3 with attacking sweeper keepers and liberos that you have instructed them to use. If you take off a bit of pressure by telling them to relax each match, and have success in your matches with more aggressive tactics, they tend to stop being so unfamiliar in similar future circumstances. Giving them lots of player traits that correspond to their roles and personal instructions also helps them be a lot more comfortable before the match, and you'll notice them question things a lot less.
