They haven't been back since, they even dropped down to Conference Premier. Barry Rodan's Overview at Stopsley Utd. Let's see if I can get my club back to the Premier League. Things have been tougher and we have lost our last 2 league games. We were given a tough time by Hemel but we have made it to round 3 of the FA cup. We struggled against lowly Swindon before a couple of comfortable wins, the club has a losing record against Grimsby and that continued as they have beaten us for a 2nd time. Championship side Bournemouth were too strong in the FA cup, more clinical anyway. Star Player We will be losing several players at the end of the season, Varney has signed a new deal. That was the only defeat in our final eleven games as we secured promotion and the League Two title, first step of our climb back to the Premier League. Bristol Rovers & Charlton are also promoted, the teams in the play-offs were not far behind those two sides with Plymouth just losing out on goal difference. We had some friendlies in the build up but here are the World Cup results. It was a tough opening game but we battled well and had some good chances to get a better result. It was a terrible start and we gave up far too many chances, we managed to turn things around in 2nd half and we went into final game knowing a win would see us through. A brilliant 1st half display put us in a great position, it didn't go without a scare, it got nervy, thankfully we didn't buckle. Our reward was a game against England. England proved to be too strong, we improved in the 2nd half and made a really good fight but came up just short. Hosts Spain bowed out after finishing 3rd behind Ecuador and Holland. France won their 5th World Cup, they are level with Germany and Brazil, Italy, England and Argentina have won 6. Australia were a team to watch for goals, goals, goals. Considering we were flirting closer to the relegation places most of the season I hadn't really been taking so much attention at the top as I didn't even think our battle was up there just yet. My main focus was just to get results to be a save mid-table side and then build on that. Even after those run of results before the Carlisle defeat I hadn't noticed we could get in the running, I was playing this game and watching a Work The Space youtube video lol Looked at the table and saw us in 6th which was a surprise, yep top management here lol We have Norwich at home in the final game, so chances are we won't be in play-offs.
