Player angry because he's playing as a Trequartista in Attacking Midfield instead of a Trequartista in Attacking Midfield

This is an existing issue and a problem for a number of releases.

Pending SI resolving it where possible dont let these get built into contracts - this is the pre contract conversation where you confirm squad role etc before final contract negotiations. This then allows flexibility of position and then avoids player discussions and promises.

I think it is just a reminder, it is not saying anything is wrong, just that a promise was made.  Maybe think of it as 'hey alexa' reminder after 10 games.  However I am not totally sure on that.

May be wrong but in my experience you only get those reminders if you're not on track to achieve it.

You played him one game out of 11 as AML , how dare you??

Jokes aside, yes roles promises needs to be tuned down or even better, removed form the contract negotiations.

Positions related promises would be fine, but not roles and it should just be a moral factor, not a binary loving/hating you behaviour.

Lol don’t make promises you can’t keep. Imagine making Ronaldinho play a specific way at AML that  he doesn’t likes or play to his strengths.

I think roles preferences and promises are legit as I’ve read plenty of articles about players not wanting to play for a team because of their play style.

Seconding this. Remove and exclude from negotiation is your friend here.

Considering a lot of players think their best roles are in positions they aren't even natural in I'm not sure the game is actually working all that well when it comes to best preferred positions, kinda suck they make such a big part in negotiations. I don't really want to promise you that I will play you in a non natural position could you please just trust me I'm doing you a favour by refusing your demands.

My second best CD asked for a new deal, I agreed as it only had two years left and he's been good for two seasons.  I've never played with Wide CBs but he's demanding that as a locked in demand to sign the deal.  I'd promised to give him a new deal so have to include that, fully knowing that in 6 months he'll kick off about not playing there.  Stupid.

When Milner came to Liverpool he wanted to change position from the wing to central midfield.

Brendan Rogers promised him that CM position.

But he has also will filled in where required to with minimum fuss. He currently plays CM but can also fill in at RB when required.

He even played an entire season at Left Back in 2016, not too long after he arrived at Liverpool, because Klopp felt their LB (Moreno) was not good enough.

In another season he played Central Midfield but also backup to Trent in the RB position.

The game doesnt seem able to cope with the fact players who are promised specific positions can also be persuaded to help out in other areas due to their professionalism.

When backed into a  corner like this I suppose a new deal will increase his value when you are forced to sell when he kicks off

Requesting a position makes absolute sense. Requesting a role is ****ing ridiculous.

I doubt Haaland is gonna sign for his next club and demand to only ever be a 'Pressing Forward' or Bellingham asking to be only a 'Mezzala'.

This is Implying that every player request this which isn’t true. More things than not it’s players that have a best role that outweighs any other role they have skills at.

Not sure I agree with that as I have players thinking their best position is positions they aren't even natural at and will demand to be played in those positions.

Not sure, why do we even have positions if it is all about the attributes. I would think that a player that has a natural ability for a position should probably be better at that than one he is not natural in.

Remember players played regularly in specific positions will often develop attributes that are more suitable to the role played in. Specific positions and roles favour players with specifc attributes or ability to develop attributes in new positions and roles. This could mean development of an average utility multi positional / role type player versus a specialised  player...subject to age, CA and PA
