Hello everyone, I am a huge West Ham fan and have been a long time lurker on these forums for a good while. I enjoy reading other people's saves, challenges so I thought I would create my own thread as I have stopped playing FM recently since the turn of the year.

The inspiration behind this save with West Ham is actually our recruitment in the lower leagues. More prominent since Moyes returned to the club in his 2nd stint, but West Ham actually have history in giving players down in the lower leagues a chance to thrive in the top flight and on the whole, a lot of them have been very successful.

Below is a list of most recent able players that West Ham have signed that have come from below the Premier League:

Aaron Cresswell: Joined West Ham from Ipswich in 2014 under Big Sam for a reported fee of £3.75m with clauses, he has gone on to make 237 appearances for the Hammers and playing for his country 3 times.

Michail Antonio: Joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015 for a reported fee of £7m, he has gone onto make 179 appearances for West Ham scoring 54 goals, becoming West Ham's top all time premier league goal scorer whilst having a stint at most positions on the pitch.

Craig Dawson: Signed on loan with a obligation to buy if played a certain amount of games from Watford, which was made permanent for a reported £2m. He has become a very useful signing for West Ham, scoring some vital goals and has already made over 50 appearances for West Ham

Said Benrahma: The latest player West Ham have signed from the Championship, from Brentford for a reported £21m + add ons. Took a year to settle in at West Ham, but certainly looks money very spent again.

Jarrod Bowen: One of the first signings under the second era of Moyes, signing in January 2020 for a reported £25m. He was pivotal to us staying up, kicking on with another successful 1st full season at the club as West Ham finish 6th in the premier league and has gone to another level this season. Currently the best English player for Goals and Assists so for this season (As I am currently typing this) with 6 goals and 7 assists.

Ryan Fredericks: Free Transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2018, has had an mixed spell at West Ham with changes of manager, poor form and injuries.

Rules of the save:

1. If I want to improve the squad, new players must either be signed from the lower leagues (Championship + below) or come from the academy.

2. I do not have to sell players who are currently at the club, who were not signed from the lower leagues.

3. Try to build affiliate relationships with clubs who are known for feeding players to the higher divisions (example - Crewe)

4. All players loaned out must be loaned out to a club in the English pyramid.

Disclaimer*

I am not sure how often I will play this save, mainly due to when I get engrossed into a save, it takes over my life and I let it effect other things ie (exercise) so I will play this save if I have 1-2 hours at the end of a evening once everything else has been done.

Thanks for reading!

Ben

The very first day, I like to assess staff mainly scouting and the HOYD to decide whether I need to bring my own faces in. We had 1 chief scout in Rob Newman, who will continue his role as chief scout. However, I will be designating assignments to the scouts.

After bringing in 5 scouts, we are still well below average when comparing our recruitment team to the rest of the leagues.

Scouting Assignments

Whilst it is pre-season, when the season begins the goal of the scouts is just to watch football, so they have nothing specific assigned to them.

 HOYD

Ricky Martin has been replaced as HOYD, mainly due to his personality.

His Replacement

Gary Brazil, a decrease in JPA. However, the personality is what I wanted.
