Tight marking in individual and opposition instructions?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I know having selected tight marking in a player’s individual instructions results in them man marking anyone that comes close to their ‘zone’.

However, what about tight marking in the opposition instructions? Isn’t it the same thing?

It's not the same thing. Tight marking in opposition instructions tells the team that when ever that particular player is in their zone he should be tight marked. For example let's say the player starts his movement from the left going right, it will be the job of the right back or right winger depending on how deep the players is starting his run to mark him then as the player drifts inside, the responsibility is moved to the central players and so on.

On the other hand tight mark in individual instruction is telling the player you have it on to mark any of the opposition player that enters his zone
