Round adjustments, what do they do?

In the advanced rules you can find the tab Round adjustments. According to the option, it can be used to give a team a bye to a next round.

I plan to use the following setup (example). Looking at the screen and knowing the general advanced rules setup here, my expectations are

• that if the number is uneven, one team will get a bye. How the game picks that is a mystery to me btw.
• that the number of team to start in the round will be the number of teams added this round and NOT including the teams that qualified from the previous round.
   

Anyone who has used this and can shed some light?

@Wolf_pd I tried to use them for the Iraq cup and got a crash dump, so I don't know what they are supposed to do.

Then you got one step further than I got.

I added them in a file that was verified in the editor and after adding them, the file didn't verify anymore, with or without those round adjustment. Had to go to a previous version, for whatever reason.
