I am sick and tired of these stupid Champions League draws. At least we're pulling ahead in the league.

The loss of de Ligt is already being felt, we go from a WCB pairing of 91-80 to 80-79, a huge drop.

Okay, I may stop complaining about the Champions League, but if Monaco and Southampton draw I will be furious. Just get me into the Europa League. Domestically, we send a strong message to Ajax, as Kyran Polman begins to settle in and find some form.

We flattened the Germans, but it's Scotland who advance to the semis. We now have no more competitive fixtures until 2032, because Holland are hosting those Euros. And not a moment too soon. After just 3 months, I convinced de Ligt to come out of retirement. We'll now have him until at least the next Euros and possibly WC 2034.

We end the year with a decent lead on top of the Eredivisie, and a superb draw over Bayern sees us into the Europa knockouts.

It's not the best draw we could've received, but if we get past Valencia and avoid Man City we can definitely make the final.

Some big sales here. I forgot to note Tauer's departure, but he leaves with a significant profit after 181 appearances and 7 seasons. Ott was on the way out as a WB, and when UAE came calling it would have been silly to turn them down. We make a tidy 14m profit on him. But the best story (and probably most damaging for us) was the return to Premier League football by Aniekan Ekene. We bought him for 1.2m from Manchester United last season, and then 1.5 seasons later current league leaders Arsenal pick him up for huge money, granting us 15m profit. We are finally starting to see these huge profits on players, and we are almost definitely going to be making some huge signings next season. But first we had to deal with the departure of a first teamer.

The lead is 9 points. PSV have become non-existent. Ajax are losing touch. The hated Heerenveen are somehow 3rd. It's shaping up to be an interesting 2nd half.

We're doing a great job in the league, despite losing our first game. We've stamped our authority over Ajax, and Feyenoord is struggling to stay with us. Kyran Polman is a beast, that's for sure. 13 goals in 8 games this month is incredible.

We're so close to getting our title back we can almost taste it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Polman is a beast, and he's developed into the best striker in the national team as a result.

We get probably the most favourable road to the final we could get here, as the winner of our tie plays Villarreal/Lazio. After our spectacular performance against United, who knows what can stop us? Perhaps Wolfsburg, who knocked Man City out?

Luckily (or unluckily) for us, City are now out and a path to the final seems doable :D

Safely past Atalanta, and now Lazio blocks our path to the final. Atalanta are higher on the table than them in the Serie A, so on paper we could win this. But let's see what happens.

Just four players join us so far, and 3 will start. Ambroise was supposed to, but some reshuffling as a result of the other additions moves him to the bench for the time being. We also get Rossen a year later than we wanted to, when he chose Villarreal over us, but he's here now.

Getting closer to be competitive in the CL, but something really needs to be done to improve the quality of your back line.

The defensive ratings do seem lower than the others (the second best Dutch CB is only an 80) but I agree, once we do that we will be impenetrable.

It's a slightly older, slightly less quality squad than 2 years ago, but the new generation is very, very slowly pushing their way in. With only two players in the first XI and 6 overall younger than 30, changes may be happening later rather than sooner. We would've had two NAC players in the squad, but Goossens injured himself as the squad was being selected so was ruled out. He would've been the starting CM too.

Friendlies

Two strong wins, and things are looking good. Semi finals are the aim, given we are the best best European team ranking-wise. Increased expectations, but hopefully we can do it.

Group Stage

A couple of big shocks here, with defending champions Denmark knocked out, as well as France, finishing last in their group with just one point. Apart from that there isn't too much to write home about.

389784d83429fe1813098aa29dfb545c.png

We get the worst draw we could've possibly received, which completely makes sense given how horrific the draws have been in the Netherlands part of the save. Apart from that only Italy/Switzerland could end in an upset, I think.

Second Round

80c26ceb71936e32b3ecd7bc94a48995.png

It's a battle of the hosts, as Belgium squeaked by Iceland, who we smashed. That matters not though, and I expect a tough game.

Quarter Finals

A few players leave for free, including Rico Heij, whose 2 caps 4 years ago seemed extremely hopeful, but still made 104 appearances over those 4 years; and Osifo, who made 173 over 10 seasons but was one of the first players we signed so will have a place in NAC folklore.

Transfers (In)

0da7ae85ec6cedec639defcbf2fe5bb9.png

At the stage now where there aren't too many players that can be immediate starters that we can afford, and Gauthier is one of those rarities. He still has a boatload of potential, as we enter a period where we begin to trust the academy players coming through to fill the gaps, and we have some very good players on the fringes.

We missed a 93rd minute penalty in the UEFA Super Cup that would have been the winner, so the scoreline there is very misleading, and bodes well for our ventures in Europe this season.

We are now the most reputable club in Holland, so with those expectations comes the expectation to win a 3rd Eredivisie in a row.

A slow start once more, but nothing to be worried about just yet.

Another poor draw, but I think we can beat Hertha. At worst we'll be in the Europa League.

Our backup striker leaves for Vitesse, netting us 5.75m profit, and starting Libero Christian moves to Real Madrid for about 15m profit. After some tactical reshuffling, I was unable to find anyone first team ready, so a youth player steps into the subs, making that 4 out of the available 7 coming from the academy.

A perfect month, as we get revenge on Hertha a year later.

The perfect start in the Nations League, but we are in a real group of death here.

A tough end to the Nations League, but it was a tough group. With our two best players having recently retired, we'll be going through a bit of a transition until/unless I can convince them to come back.

We lose Polman for up to 3 months after a torn quad, so we have issues up front which probably contributed to the Ajax loss. But Dave Rossen is our sub striker, despite never played there, and has done okay so far.

It's not a terrible draw, and we'll take confidence from the Barcelona results into this.

Understandable that there aren't as many "A" positions, but still an excellent preview.

Polman has a successful return from injury, scoring in his first game back, and we take advantage of Ajax's slip ups to storm to the top with a 3 point advantage. In the Champions League, Milan head to Breda with everything to play for, as a 2 goal win will knock them out. I honestly believe we can, we haven't played our A team against them fully yet.

Polman continued his strong return from injury against Milan, and now we draw Chelsea. I would've preferred a team like Inter, but they're all strong teams. Chelsea beat Barcelona 5-1 on aggregate, and we beat them 5-2. It's going to be a tight contest.

World Cup 2034 qualifiers have begun, and we look to have a pretty easy run through to qualification. Only Turkey should provide resistance. I also convinced both Gravenberch and de Ligt to come out of international retirement, and they both scored in this window :D

We've secured 3 Eredivisies in a row :D

I will never stop going on about how good Polman is. Out xG'd 4-1 in our game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and he bangs in a hattrick. We also have an outside shot at making the final, as we hold Haaland's PSG to 1 goal in Paris.

A tough final two games in the league, which made me glad we wrapped the title up before then, even if we won both. But the big story is in the Champions League, where we smashed PSG in Holland before facing 81,000 fans in Madrid in what was supposed to be a neutral venue (it wasn't). We took the lead early, but home advantage eventually overpowered us, making this the first Champions League final I have lost in this entire career. We'll come back stronger next season hopefully.

A few names leave us, including Dutch international Jop Goossens for 8.25m, who despite 111 appearances and 23 Dutch caps was falling down the pecking order, so he's off to Portugal. Other names include Marcel Schneider, who refused to sign a new contract with us and leaves for free to RB Leipzig and is now worth 81-93m :(, and Roel Hoek, a handy CB backup who made 25 appearances.

But the big sale here is Ayman Amrabat, off to Arsenal for 33m. One of the best pieces of business on this save so far, he was bought for 1.3m 5 seasons ago from Anderlecht, had 125 appearances over those 5 seasons, and been an all around great player all over the field. But he's gone, and we have a 50% of next sale clause so we will continue to profit from him.

4 players will be starters, and if it wasn't for reshuffling it would've been all of them. I tried to sign Weishaupt last season, but he had a release clause, and even with it gone still commanded a hefty fee. But he's going to be great, as each of these guys will be.

The Club World Cup is stupid for player fitness, and half my squad were off playing some international youth tournament so it was partly my fault, but we had a great preseason including a draw at Anfield.
