mass editing of players

I'm dividing 1 nation into 6 nations, for that I'll need to change the nationality of 50 thousand players, would there be a way to select them all and do it only once or will I have to edit player by player?

You can definitely do it 500 at a time - just search players by nationality, select all, then edit. All changes will be uniform across players.

You can do as many as you want, change your settings in the maximum records for search to unlimited.

..and prepare for there to be a crash-like wait after every edit even on a high end CPU with bucket loads of RAM. Thousands of records take a long time to update, patience is very necessary.

If you edit 1000-5000 at a time, depending on how strong your PC is, it is easily doable. Start with 500 max and see how fast it goes.
