I've been trying to crack this one also. I am very sure that there's a hidden panel for this. I've just not been able to find it.

Right now looking to find a club with information and then see if I can interpret the information and change it.

We have a GD thread about clubs with other nationalities, so those are options.

You could try and copy from Oriental Dragon (Portuguese Club that produces only Chinese regens) and see whether that works.

Hmmm, you could try copying the empty space in Oriental Dragons and pasting it on any other club. After that, you could simulate the game to see whether the changes had any effect.

I've forgotten how to activate this stuff. Was it club or club ui? Debug only to false? Any other ways you managed?

I literally have no idea what I'm doing. I created two db changes but only one worked. Obviously one is for something else but was used for comparison since it appears to be a similar type of table for that entry. 

Is it possible to edit/add/fix the newgen specification in the xml?

I see a successful change but I can't access it. I think it's similar to what you saw. I'm trying to reverse engineer what is missing from the xml by checking other boxes but it's not obvious to me what should be done. I'll check if I can adapt the "club vision" and its enums to make it work. Sell on clause didn't work for me. 

I'm deliberatly using the "easiest" other examples in order to try to see what is different.

I think this is more of a skinning than an editor question by the way. 

 

IMO the challenge is that when pressing Add there should be a pop up where we can select nations. I've tried to figure out how that's done for other options with the same type of Add(etc.) buttons as newgen specifications but to no avail

I tried but I couldn't make it work. I do think enums file is part of the solution because the way my current understanding of the logic works then every nation should be added as a enum value in that file. Just like it looks like in the screenshot below

I haven't been structured enough though. What I really struggle with is this

What in the code make clicking on Add here work but not for Newgen Transfer Specification?

I'm not good enough with xml(or I don't understand the game's setup enough). Hence why I think this is a skinning question.

Similar to, say adding a language where you get an extra menu as well. That’s something that is set via another part of the editor, filters I think, but I would have to check tomorrow.

I have found a club that should have  data set there, but if it is not visible there as well, then the data is set to invisible for some reason.

I think I have worked out how to set it, but need to test it in game first.

That doesn't fix the visibility, but it should at least confirm that the XML editing can work.

Please @Wolf_pd, how were you able to set the newgen specification?

Idea failed. Back to square zero.

I had been reverse (?) engineering the XML based on what it says in the editor club.xml and based on comparable table forms. The problem is that there are some unknown IDs in the XML and that makes it hard. One bonus though is that it taught me that the line that is added to the file is a 'starter line' which does not have meaning or content.

So the easier step is to fix the visibility, so we at least see what we are doing ;)

Is it worth investigating how to launch the editor in debug mode - it's entirely possible that the item format we need is also only accessible in debug mode (especially given the transfer preferences part is identical to the nation transfer preferences in nation.xml), but isn't editable in comp editor.fmf?

I'm currently playing around with steam launch options for the editor (& also using the steam console for clues), but haven't made any progress yet.

I think so. It looks like debug_only=false made it visible but obviously the data is the big next step. At this stage  I'd explore any option.

Just wondering if there's any way to change the text with the names of the kit styles in the Editor? I know how to change the kit default styles and pics, but not the text describing the kit style (or the text referring to the coloured back panel/same as front etc.

Any ideas?

New version with the files of the last SI update in the OP.

@VinnieJones, try change primary_button in editor settings. If it don´t work, in the graphics folder there is a folder called trees with the original graphic files of the tree menu. try to change the selected.xml

@griffin99, don't know.

Yes enum.xml is part for Club Reserve team type. 

As far a I know the enum.xml file contains everything like competitions types, team types and stuff like that, and is part for Club and Competitions ,maybe more.

So I tried a long time to get the U17 as team type to Reserve Teams and Reserve Teams To Create.

Yes its works in game But just U17 Team no U17 B team.

But I tried to get U17 B Team but no success enum=".." and translation="......" failed.

Here the Comp Editor Folder In Works 2022.

Adjusted are Database Club.xml max reserve teams to create from max 3 to 12 and U17 Team type added, advanced rules Nation.xml Subordinated Competition from max 50 to 500, Rule group Enum.xml U17 Team type added.

I vaguely understand what @affe1802is saying, but I still haven't been able to change my editor. Is it possible that someone could explain, in a way an idiot can understand, how I get this to work? All I want to do is be able to have u17 teams in a league I have created but, as I can set the maximum age for created teams, any youth team will have a different max age because u18 is the lowest available

First look in Your Steam Library if you have there the Football Manager 2022 Resource Archiver open this one if not download this after download open this.

then click unpack archive

if you download the works 2022 file click on create archive

now select the works 2022 folder in this folder you then select the Comp Editor.

now close the FM Editor 2022 and open again.

Take as comp type the U18 The U17 max age should be 17.

For a test open editor Add Nation Rules create for existing club the u17 in reserve teams already create and add there a active U19 league save it test the rules and open the game open the test.fmf choose the club you added the u17 and see the u17 is there staff like Co Physio all

U17 division would be amazing.

so tried but no success.

So I create like you first u17 teams as u18 and create U17 division  as an u18 division but name these u17 division and after then I create for a club u19 player and see the u17 team type on contract squad status.

What files control adding u17? Whether it is a division type or team type, I just need to know what file is what.

If in enum.xml, Path ...Works 2022/comp editor/format/rule group/enum.xml,  no U17 Team or U19 Team entry but in club.xml doesn't lists the U17 or U19.

So I think the enum.xml is the list answer file for:

Database entry´s like Club/Reserve teams, Competitions/types. Club/Affiliated Clubs type and more like squad.

I can't say which file controls the enum.xml I can only guess...

So I think it is the sicomps/comps.dbc 

Path Steam/Steamapps/Common/Football Manager 2022/Data/Sicomps/comps.dbc

Man, I was fighting with some crazy errors for days when working on my database and then, by pure chance, this thread comes and saves the day.

Having the option to change the competition mode is a life saver. Thanks!

I know there is a file if I use the resource archiver, but if I use a number that isn't under "TMTY" or "rstm", I will either lose the team name for the reserve team or get something totally different.

For example, I am trying to add u16 teams and I have made the relevant changes to have u16 team as a team type, but when I select that team type with the enum I have chosen (larger than the u17 I have got working correctly), the name disappears. If I select a low number that isn't showing on the list, I get something different like enum 4 = Team Nemeziz and enum 5 = Team Predator which, if memory serves correctly, are 2 of the 4 MLS Superdraft teams.

enum Id´s and translation id´s seems to need exist in a encrypted database file .dbc my guess but I could be wrong there too and I don't know what app or program can translate this in English text.

Who wants more team types like U17, U17 II should vote here 

maybe in future version which of them will appear but that can be achieved if many people vote.

See, there is a translation ID for u16 teams (470513) which can be found in example.ltf which, as it turns out, is the number immediately after the ID for u17's. So, there must be the option to have u16's show in the editor. I can get u16 divisions going, no problem.

So I Tried for U17 team type a very long time since 2020 for succeed and the enum="29" value gives the success maybe gives a other enum id the success but this you need too test every enum id you changed I don't know if its possible to have the U17 and U16 team type I chose the enum="29" for U17 team type maybe gives a little succeed if you let enum="" like this. 

In my opinion, the name U16 may not be there, but the may be respected...!!!????

The thing is, more youth teams wont necessarily be something that SI can add, due to the age restrictions. That is why there are very few players in the database younger than 16. There is a cut off date that a player needs to be 16 by (I believe) and, if they don't hit that cut off, they don't appear in-game. Special permission had to be granted for Odegaard to appear a few FM's ago.

In Germany there is the A youth with U19 and sometime U18 teams playing in U19 competitions. The B youth with U17 and U16 teams playing in U17 competitions and so on....

The U16 Team (470513) can be found in person.xml under squad status

But I don't tried these to change I 

I advise you to make a backup bevor you make changes in the example.ltf. For example the editor or even the game doesn't work or crashes because of the changes. If that works, congratulations and let us know!!!!
