Jaydenoren
How have you guys been finding the 3-4-3 (non-diamond) in FM22 with the introduction of wide centre backs? Mainly ones where both wingers cut in and wing backs provide width while the pivot provides cover and structure, like Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea or Valerien Ismael’s West Brom This is what i've been trying with Stoke in the championship, and while results have been more than good, i'm not too quite sure with performances, along with the over-reliance of set-pieces or long shots and the subpar possession stats (19th in possesion, 12th in passes completed), I feel that the tactic isn't doing what it's supposed to do, I'm not aiming for possession but I am aiming for dominance in games. As for player ratings, there seems to be inconsistency in average ratings from whoever plays in the right wing back role and the left winger role, also seeing a drop in performances from the back 3 after a great start. s0ni42
I’ve struggled with inverted wingers in general. One TI that seems consistent with every AI manager known for inverted attackers in that strata has Work Ball into box. other considerations…your left side looks a little exposed to me, I don’t personally like a BWM with attacking wingback (but that could just be the pragmatist in me). Secondly, what value is your CMS offering? I might consider being more intentional with that role. DLPS should immediately offer you more control/possession within a game. I did end up changing the BWM to another CM. They seem to preform well (could be affected by set pieces and long shots however) but I just want a role that links the attack and defence, doesn’t get ahead of the front 3 and covers for the wingbacks. I didn’t want the pace of our football to be slowed down with a playmaker and I didn’t want a Carrillo as I feel like it’s risky in a double pivot in a 3-4-

Unless you’re playing direct football the ball is, at least somewhat, flowing through that strata (central midfield)
coach vahid
In fm19, I found a cmd with cms a good choice. But it was in 442. And also better, with counterpress untick. If it can help.
