I think I love this bloke. Apart from his strength, he's a wonderful DM destroyer for this level.
Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2025 Swedish Division 1 Norra Preseason Having scraped promotion, I have every expectation of going straight back down. One of the two losses of the Summer was a big one, Albin Andersson (HG), leaving on a free. His fellow centre back, Jamiu Oladejo - who didn't actually play a game last season - went to Division Three Terbuni. As a result, we're seriously lacking in defence. Expectations: We've gone up, and now we're expected to battle bravely. Nice to see the board getting used to my style of football (bore the pants off people by passing it around, and scoring from set pieces because we're not actually very good). We're predicted dead last. Pre-season: I actually vaguely cared about this for once, as my first three friendlies were against teams in Division 1. The results weren't promising... Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2025 Swedish Division 1 Norra April Not a bad start at all to life in Division 1. While typically dreary with the exception of the game against fellow promoted team Ekilstuna - we have to be with the players at our disposal - we've not been outclassed by any stretch of the imagination. The objective is a point a game or so - somewhere in the 30-35 point range over 30 games - and we're well on track for that. The biggest negative of the month was a broken ankle for midfield mainstay Eskil Thor in the first game of the season, a horrible injury that rules him out for the season. On more positive news, my Youth Coaching got upgraded again...
Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2025 Swedish Division 1 Norra May Seven games in the month, and eleven points. It certainly wasn't pretty, or even excellent, but it was definitely effective. Honestly, we look quit decent, and as though we belong (if only in mid-table)

Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2025 Swedish Division 1 Norra July Not a good month. It should have ended well, but 3 goals in the 88th, 91st and 95th minutes for Ekilstuna really threw me under the bus. We remain relatively out of danger given our good form at the start of the season, but I'm starting to sweat...

Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2025 Swedish Division 1 Norra August Another 7 points in five games, and we ought to be happily mid-table having hit the magic 30 point mark. Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2024 Swedish Division 2 Norra Gotaland Youth Intake Hooray! With a new league, my youth intake has formed a squad and played against my u-19s! Saves me some effort... And an extra hooray in that the intake is bloody good. Not keen on that personality, but his raw numbers are, I think, good enough to slot straight onto the bench... Now he's great for this level... Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2026 Swedish Division 1 Norra June Yeah, this really isn't good. The goals have dried up - we've yet to score more than once - and the points aren't great either. We need a shakeup. Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2026 Swedish Division 1 Norra July This is becoming more and more of a disaster of a season. We still haven't scored more than once, and have almost as many points as we have goals (ie not many). And our defensive solidity is out the window to boot... Firmly last. To add insult to injury, my all-time top scorer, and mainstay striker, is retiring. TBH, he's only scored five this season, but that's fully half my goals. Moonshine
On 28/10/2021 at 13:15, Moonshine said: On the cup - its totally baffling. According to this wikipedia article (last updated in 2015) the first round is done by the top ranked team in each region... We are based in Orebro Lan - Orebro County - which incorporates the city of Orebro and the surrounding area. It appears, therefore, we only get 1 place in the cup - which makes (some) sense, I think. That said, I don't understand why Orebro Syrianska, who are Division 1 North, didn't play this year, whereas the Orebro team who seem to be in the cup are Karlsunds IF of Division 2 Sodra Svealand As far as I can gather, the teams that matter to me are: Orebro Syrianska - D1N Karlsunds IF - D2SS Yxhults IK - D2NG BK Forward - D2NG Kumla BK - D2NG So, theoretically, the top team out of those 5 ought to play in the cup next year? So probably Orebro Syrianska, but perhaps BK Forward when they get promoted? I'll keep an eye on this. EDIT: Oh, hang on, BK Forward also played in the first round of the cup. Which continues to beg the question as to why Orebro Syrianska didn't qualify. But it does mean there might be 2 spots in the cup? Perhaps? I'm in the cup! I still don't understand it! But I changed my tactic and went a bit more attacking and I actually won and scored some goals!

Moonshine
Yxhults IK 2026 Swedish Division 1 Norra August I mean the new tactic is certainly more exciting... Shedloads of yellow cards - 25 in four games (with three reds to boot) is unsustainable to say the least, before a little bit of a tweak reduced it a little in the loss at home to AFC Eskilstuna. And we're still losing, but my goodness this is a more fun way of losing. With Gabriel Petersson retiring, I've moved Aklam Mutebi upfront, and have revised the tactics to a rather attacking 4-2-3-1 (below). It needs work, clearly, but we're getting closer... Our first season ever in the cup, on the other hand, has been brilliant, with victory over Utsiktens BK follow by a majestic win at home to Superetten team Osters IF. It appears that I now move on to a group stage in next season's pre-season, which is confusing. We're definitely going down, but it'll be fun. Moonshine
I'm looking at the reasons behind why we were so crap last season, and I think I've hit upon an issue - but I don't know if this has been present in previous iterations of FM. Paging @Jimbokav1971 and @Makoto Nakamura who have done these kind of saves before as to whether this is unusual... So obvious our training facilities are rated as 'poor' - presumable a 1 or 2 out of 20 - and we train part time. So I would assume as a result that players would gain current ability, and attributes, slowly. However, I would further assume that they will still gain ability as they approach their peak - though they are much more likely to never hit the heights of their potential ability, because of training. And yet, if we look at two players, Anton Matsson (YP1a) and Olle Brorsson in depth, we see nothing of the sort. Anton Matsson (YP1a) was the best youth product of my first intake - and, because I have access to an Alpha build, I also know that he came through with a CA of 18 and a PA of 94 (I hate looking at these things, but I'm deeply suspicious right now) - or at least that is where he was in the last save I have, from 2024. Right now, Anton Matsson (YP1a) still has a CA of 18, and a PA of 94. If you look at his attributes from when he came through at 16 to now when he's 20, he hasn't improved at all. In fact, he seems to have got worse at key attributes - his passing, tackling, anticipation, composure, decisions have all declined in the four years he's been on my books, with some small increases in physical to make up for it. Looking at Olle Brorsson provides context - he's been my best player every season, consistently above 7.3 rating, and has played almost every game I've managed - including in a higher league than where he started. At the end of season one, he's 21 - he should, theoretically, impove year-on-year. In 2024, season 3, his CA is and his PA is 83. At the end of season 5, his CA is down to 56 and his PA at 83. Like Anton Mattson (YP1a), he has noticeably declined, despite the fact he ought to have improved - heading, tackling, anticipation, composure, decisions, off the ball and vision, among others. In fact, lets take a look at the CA/PA of my end squad who were around in 2024, and compare them to now: 2024 2026 As you can see, every single player has either dropped in their CA rating, or not gained a single point of CA. This absolutely can't be right, and totally kills the long term viability of not only most youth saves, but surely the balance of the bottom tiers of any division where the training facilities are predominantly 'poor'... Pompeyboyz
Got to be honest and say I think that your save might be ruined due to the Alpha build you started it on. I've done my full run of testing over a 14-15 year career for players and I found things to be running perfectly well. Now obviously, my testing is through soak testing and AI managers not human manager so if there is an issue with it being only human managers then my testing will not pick it up. This is a player from Portsmouth at the start of the game and yes they do have good facilities, but he is then transferred to Barry Town in Wales who have poor/basic facilities and his progress is fine to my eyes. He is on a P/T contract while at Barry too. This is a regen that starts at Dover who have poor/basic facilities and he then moves to Crewe for a short time that have much better facilities before heading to end his career with non-league Slough on non-contract terms at poor/basic facilities. Surprisingly the final column is for a 2 year period where he spent the final year without a club and managed to increase some attributes Now I have seen the beta bugs forum thread with plenty of people raising this issue and obviously I cannot comment on each scenario for those people, but as it is in the "beta" bugs forum I do wonder again about the build as fixes for these types of issues do not transfer into a save.
