August 2029 Transfer Window

Welcome to the summit. The idea is to stay here.

Transfers IN:

e73c45c06f9bbfa0e44c0706d0c3be1e.png

  • MC/AMRLC/ST Luis Javier (£2m, Feyenoord Rotterdam) Work Rate: 14, Pace 16, Technique: 12 - DNA: PASSED

Welcome back to another old boy. We'd Eberhardt'd him by selling him then loaning him back and then, finally, resigning him from the club we sold him to, albeit with getting 50% back due to his sell on clause

df517cbe0ede191a532d514286e53daa.png

  • DC Ralf Haller (£425k, Eintracht Frankfurt) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 10 - DNA: PASSED

We needed some bolstering on the defensive front so we picked up this kid from Frankfurt to try and keep us up this season.

 2f13e8c0eeaae06e461c9bebb38298a2.png

  • DRC Nemanja Vasiljević (£1.5m, 1. FC Köln) Work Rate: 14, Pace 15, Technique: 10 - DNA: PASSED

Welcome to Hotel Viktoria. Once you check in, you never leave.

  • GK Tobias Sander (Free Transfer) Work Rate: 6, Pace 10 - DNA: FAILED

Welcome to Hotel Viktoria. Once you check in, you never leave (Part 2)

58f71cccdb96bc90a5ea1cbc8ff6caee.png

  • M/AMC Lazar Jović (Free Transfer) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 17 - DNA: PASSED

We absolutely robbed Partizan Belgrade for this player, tracked him for a season or two and when he wanted out of Partizan, we swooped to pick him up on a free.

4456f061819fe367a6cf3fa050756cae.png

  • DC/DM Noel Ampf (Free Transfer) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 11 - DNA: PASSED

Some half-back cover was well needed and Noel could easily slot into the DC role if we needed it, so he brings the versatility into the team with a higher skill level

3d848e516e26b3653aa81e3f2f51da5d.png

  • ML/AML Markus Marin  (Free Transfer) Work Rate: 14, Pace 16, Technique: 15 - DNA: PASSED

Again, we signed a player from a lower division club who was clearly better than his club, so I tracked and pounced the moment I could!

Transfers OUT:

DM/M/AMC RIco Speksneijder (£2m, Eintracht Braunschweig)

DRC Killian Senkbeil (£1m, VfL Bochum)

DM/MC Richard Pieckenhagen (£1m, 1.FC Heidenheim 1946)

DC Giannis Oikonomou (£2m, Hamburger SV)

The first team last match. We have 5 players who don't fit, but Celinho and Krone have the chance to improve to that level.

Impenetrable defence (Defensive Efficiency, Goalkeeping, Goal Output) and clinical shooting (Shooting, Scoring, Attacking Efficiency). The perfect season so far. We're also busting the x metrics again with us being 1.6 goals better off under our xG, 6.5 points better off under xPts and finally, a whopping 7 places higher than our xPts Pos...

So, our 2030 academy scholars came in. Thanks to our final set of improvements, we're at Exceptional Youth Coaching and Exceptional Youth Recruitment. As ever, we will sign all the youth players and work on their flaws. When it comes to professional contracts, it'll be only the DNA qualifiers that get a contract.

Looks like we've been vindicated with all our upgrades so far. This intake looks the class of the entire time I've been here

Let's look at the top 3 DNA prospects.

113419a76c18e202fe805574d4044262.png

  • GK Aaron Wilske - Work Rate: 12, Pace 12 - DNA: FAILED

A good young keeper to bring through the academy and send out on loan until he's 22 or so.

5fc56ef5f6e28d99ec08db8dd893be5a.png

  • DM Özcan Öcal - Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 16 - DNA: PASSED

Heir apparent to the Segundo Volante role, so his development will be vital in the seasons to come.

36d87a52b61f7271516571ececefa2ee.png

  • DM Momčilo Radosavljević - Work Rate: 15, Pace 13, Technique: 12 - DNA: FAILED

He doesn't quite fit the DNA threshold, but with being just one point out, he has a lot of time to improve to reach the targets set.

Wow, those are some great looking prospects! I especially love Ocal but I feel Radosavljevic might end up being the best player out of this fantastic bunch.

It's literally a matter of development now! I hope they'll develop enough to make the first team

Well, Markus Marín went from hero to villain in this one. He rolled the ball past the keeper to put us 1-0 up, then threw down a Mainz attacker to concede the penalty that tied it up. Both sides had chances, but it ended up going to penalties. And Mainz's penalties were beyond reproach and Tomas Seman's....wasn't. Sigh. Our first trip to the Final and we lost, but we were the better team.

Our first ever season in the 1.Bundesliga and it was Schoolboy's Own stuff as we rode our performances from last season to 6th place in 1.Bundesliga and a DfB Pokal Final appearance! This meant we also have an appearance in the UEFA Europa Conference League for next season. Not bad for our first ever season in the top flight eh? We were only at 11th in Goals Scored this season (bearing in mind, Bayern scored 114 goals and had DOUBLE the amount of goals of second place!) , but 5th in Goals Conceded! We've also maxed out all our development areas and are looking at a stadium move in 2033. Things are looking up!

Nothing much different from our look in January. The only real interesting look is at our x stats. We actually underscored ourselves by 1.9, according to xG and overshot our xPts by 5.4 and xPts Pos by 5 places.

Now we're over 5 years into the game and this save is all about trying to get the cream of youth into the team, we'll start to look at my historical youth intakes. At the end of every season, I'll go back and look at an intake from my time here at Viktoria Berlin and see if the key prospects worked out? Or if they flamed out, never to be seen again.

So, for this edition, let's look at the Class of 2025 intake

d816265678ff0f2055594b2b2a621a18.png

We'll concentrate on the Top 3 DNA prospects, unless there are any notable deviations. The key prospects in this intake were defender Stefan Kröne, goalie Franz Duffner and attacking midfielder Christian Maus

Stefan Kröne

Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin

Now. 20 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin

Stefan is the biggest success story to come out of our academy so far. In his time here, he has made 113 appearances for the club in all competitions, becoming a bedrock of this team's miserly defence. He's scored 4 goals and assisted twice for an average rating of 7.10

Stefan also has some hardware in the trophy cabinet, lifting the 2029 2.Bundesliga trophy and walking away with the 2027 Fritz Walter Gold Medal at U-17 level and the 2029 Fritz Walter Gold Medal at U-19 level, whilst coming third in the 2030 VDV Newcomer of the Season award. Stefan has also got two full caps for Germany, making his full debut against Montenegro in March 2030, after making 11 appearances for the U-21 side.

Franz Duffner

Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin

Now. 20 years old, SV Lichtenburg 47

Franz was considered to be a minor talent in his time here at the club, but only made 34 appearances for the II side, before being released in 2029. He was then signed by Regionalliga Nordost side SV Lichtenburg 47 and has made 34 appearances for them, conceding 51 goals for an average rating of 6.42

Christian Maus

Then. 15 years old, FC Viktoria 1899 Berlin

Now. 20 years old, 1.FC Schweinfurt 05 (on loan from SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden)

Christian was a victim of our success to be honest. He had talent, but we moved up the divisions faster than he could improve. He made 4 appearances for our first team in all competitions, with one assist, for an average rating of 6.55. In the summer of 2027 however, he was sold to Keuken Kampioen Divisie side SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden for £80k. He has yet to make an appearance for them, but was loaned to Bayernliga side 1.FC Schweinfurt 05 for the most recent season, without making an appearance from them.

I'm very surprised at Vasiljevic getting a call up tbh. He's been brilliant for me, but I would not have pegged him for an international!

Season 10. European football beckons. We need to sign depth very very quickly as we are totally not deep enough to fight in Europe and in the league. The board want us to Avoid Relegation from the 1.Bundesliga and reach the Third Round of the DfB Pokal domestically, whilst in Europe, they want us to make the First Knockout Round of the UEFA Europa Conference Leagueall the while with a £650k wage budget and a £19.75m transfer budget.

a207b662e6c874d1feb1898425b90a1a.png

Our first XI on July 1, with 3 people not meeting the DNA requirements. I've put Karl Eberhardt onto a program designed to up his work rate as i don't want to lose him when his contract expires.

August 2030 Transfer Window

We burned bright last season, now to not fade away.

Transfers IN:

6c972f024b21e490cd9f92222cde65be.png

  • DC/DM/MC Eric Hollwitz (Free, SpVgg Greuther Fürth) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 12 - DNA: PASSED

We'd loaned Eric a few seasons ago and kept an eye on him from then on. He was a perfect fit for our Half Back role and for free, it was hard not to pick him up

c5043899dac56c25c7eb85b81a09b4c8.png

  • DM/MC/AMC Rok Rener (Free, NK Domžale) Work Rate: 15, Pace 14, Technique: 17 - DNA: PASSED

Another gem from Eastern Europe, Rener is insurance in case that Seman gets away from us. But he'll be the first guy to step up for any absenses of Seman or Jovic.

27f0faf7277f174bb7ae9b3a040616c2.png

  • AMRC/ST Jovan Stamenković (Free, FK Partizan Belgrade) Work Rate: 14, Pace 15, Technique: 13 - DNA: PASSED

I didn't necessarily need Jovan, but the European campaign will stretch the club's depth and he will help in that respect, especially for free!

 61e175975d7d2c98b8f0e5d536350dce.png

  • M/AMR Sascha Achner (£1.9m, Borussia Dortmund) Work Rate: 14, Pace 16, Technique: 15 - DNA: PASSED

We need some more DNA-level talent on the right win and this 19 year old, stolen from Dortmund, should fit the bill nicely.

2fc1c18f94189f8d2ad17d5eded0b1c8.png

  • D/AMC Ralf Beinlich (£2.3m, Bayer 04 Leverkusen) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 13 - DNA: PASSED

A cultured defender to step in in either European games or the following league matches, Ralf will be excellent for us and could maybe step up into the Half Back role, as someone befitting our record signing!

037e2d79da5b73412f6eaea66e895c9a.png

  • D/WB/M/AML Marcello Genius (Loan with £1.9m buy clause, FC Ingolstadt 04) Work Rate: 14, Pace 14, Technique: 12 - DNA: PASSED

Depth, depth, depth. Genius can slot in at either ML or DL, which improves his usefulness...

78ef2e6b5deec30c4c8141b940dd9b9b.png

  • DRL/WB/AMLC Roméo Sangaré (£250k, FC Viktoria Köln) Work Rate: 14, Pace 15, Technique: 15 - DNA: PASSED

We had a last minute run on full backs this deadline day, with two previous attempts to sign a developmental full back being thwarted by stupid demands from the players involved. Luckily, our lower league scouts showed up to reveal this player

Transfers OUT:

M/AML Niclas Kirsten (£100k, Karlsruher SC)

DLC/WB/M/AML Niko Takahashi (£5m, FC Augsburg)

D/DM/MC Kamiel van der Perre (£12.5m, FC Emmen)

We had an interesting window, in that we needed to reinforce for Europe, but we also needed to shed some non-DNA players and deal with some insistent teams. Did I do a good enough job? We'll have to see

So close in the cup run to bringing it home!

Nice work on making European football

Stefan is one nice looking player, and you’ve got a bunch following in his foot steps by the looks of things.

Some very interesting transfers in, and decent business out helping build your squad depth.

Looking forward to the new season
