anagain
Just caught up with some threads. Heartache at the end there but carry on that form into the new season and win the title. I must try Italy one day in FM. Those play offs were crazy. I did once have a very brief rumble with some southern Italian team and got made Chievo coach after guiding Strindheim to Norwegian success. They sacked me when I couldn't turn draws into wins. Maybe I'll start Italian in FM23. Anyway, enough about me, good luck next season. Edited January 22, 2022 by anagain
Stuniverse
On 17/01/2022 at 13:00, Bitner said: Sad not being able to retain Mora. 20 assists is an incredible return. In anyway, squad looks ready. Cheers, Bitner Thanks, @Bitner. Christian Mora and his 20 assists from right-back will be a big miss. Fortunately though, the other 10 players from my strongest 11 last season are all signed (either permanent contract or loan deal) for the season, as well as the vast majority of last season's first team squad. Note: Claudio Terzi (DC) retired at the end of the season but Leonardo Terigi was a competent back-up. Right-back, obviously, and central midfield is where I think we need to strengthen... I will do a squad review next, before starting our pre-season schedule. Edited January 23, 2022 by Stuniverse

Being the better team, by some way, and then losing on penalties was hard to take. 15 hours ago, anagain said: I must try Italy one day in FM. Those play offs were crazy. I ended my long-term FM21 save in Italy (it started in Scotland) and I'm really looking forward to seeing where my career in Italy on this save takes me. 15 hours ago, anagain said: Anyway, enough about me, good luck next season. Stuniverse
Monday 18th July 2022 Unhappy Players Just when I was looking forward to the new season with optimism, having lost only two players from the squad that were the form side in Serie C Girone B over the second-half of last season, and went on to lose in the Playoff Final, the bids have started coming in for my best players. I've rejected them all which has led to some unhappy players. I know the club's finances are insecure, but I'm well under my wage budget so I feel I'm more than doing my bit. I can't do anything about 38 year-old centre-back and club captain Claudio Terzi who has retired, but I've not given up trying to bring right-back Christian Mora back on loan. Stuniverse
Thursday 18th August 2022 Pre-game: Viterbese (H) - Coppa Italia Lega Pro Rd 1, 1st Leg Our 2022/23 season starts today with a First Leg cup-tie at home to Viterbese in the Coppa Italia Lega Pro First Round. Viterbese are in our division and this will be the first of three meetings against them in the coming weeks as we play them again in Serie C Girone B before the Second Leg comes around. We don't really have any injury problems but we have three players struggling for fitness. We probably won't risk full-backs Matteo Darini and Luigi D'Ignazio in this one. Stuniverse
Thursday 18th August 2022 Siena v Viterbese - Coppa Italia Lega Pro Rd 1, 1st Leg We're thrilled to have started our campaign with a win, even though there weren't that many I Bianconeri supporters inside the Artemio Franchi Stadium to see it. I thought we looked somewhat rusty in the first half and went behind against the run of the play. But we responded well and were level through Ottar Magnus Karlsson before the break. After the restart, we improved, and goals from Salvatore Pezzella and Ignacio Lores Varela saw us comfortable at 3-1. We were disappointed to concede a second goal, but Ignacio Lores Varela grabbed his second goal late-on to give us a 4-2 lead to take into the second-leg in 13 days time. We can play better, and we will, but we're happy with a winning start to our season.
Stuniverse
Sunday 21st August 2022 Pre-game: Pisa - Serie C Girone B (1) We probably couldn't have had a more difficult fixture to kick-off our Serie C Girone B campaign than entertaining Pisa, who were relegated from Serie B last season, and are favourites to bounce straight back up. At least we're at home in the Artemio Franchi Stadium. If we can perform like we did second-half against Viterbese, with our I Bianconeri supporters cheering us on, we fancy our chances. Stuniverse
Sunday 21st August 2022 Siena v Pisa - Serie C Girone B (1) We knew recently relegated Pisa, favourites to win Serie C Girone B this season, were going to be tough opposition. And so it proved In the first-half, we never really got to grips with them at all; we were second best, and conceded after just two minutes. Credit to the character of our team though, despite struggling going forward, we defended well and were only one behind at the break. We encouraged the players at half-time, made some early changes to get fresh legs onto the pitch, and we began to get some sort of control of the game, cheered on by our awesome I Bianconeri supporters. Hans Anapak equalised on 57 minutes and then, incredibly, Tofol Montiel gave us the lead after 78 minutes. Pisa started to pile on the pressure after that and we stood up to it for the most part. On 85 minutes, we made some defensive changes and saw the game out for a very hard fought three points.
Stuniverse
Wednesday 24th August 2022 Pre-game: Viterbese - Serie C Girone B (2) We've already beaten Viterbese once this season at home in the Artemio Franchi Stadium in the Coppa Italia Lega Pro first round first-leg. It's up to us to make sure we take Viterbese seriously, give them the respect they deserve and avoid complacency.
Stuniverse
Wednesday 24th August 2022 Siena v Viterbese - Serie C Girone B (2) We knew we had to avoid complacency against Viterbese and we did just that, putting in a very professional performance. Goals in each half from Ottar Magnus Karlsson and Alberto Paloschi gave us a 2-0 win. We had a scare at 1-0, when Leonardo Terigi was, harshly I felt, adjudged to have been overly phyisical in our own penalty area, but our goalkeeper Ivan Lanni produced a fine penalty save to deny Emilio Volpicelli an equalser for Viterbese. Stuniverse
Sunday 28th August 2022 Pre-game: Lucchese Libertas (a) - Serie C Girone B (3) We've started the season well with two league wins and one cup win in our own Artemio Franchini Stadium in front of our I Bianconeri supporters. This is our first competitive away game of the season against our fierce local rivals Lucchese Libertas, who've drawn one and lost one to start their Serie C Girone B campaign. We want to get a positive result for our amazing supporters. Edited February 7, 2022 by Stuniverse
Stuniverse
Sunday 28th August 2022 Lucchese Libertas v Siena - Serie C Girone B (3) We're disappointed not to have won this game but, at least, we remain unbeaten. I thought we were the better team, we created a lot more chances than Lucchese Libertas, but we didn't test their goalkeeper enough. The referee bottled it at the death for me though. Hans Anapak was clearly tripped in the penalty area but, instead of blowing for a penalty, the referee whistled for the end of the game.
Stuniverse
Wednesday 31st August 2022 Pre-game: Viterbese (a) - Coppa Italia Lega Pro Rd 1, 2nd Leg Siena lead 4-2 We've already beaten Viterbese twice this season at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, and take a 4-2 lead into the away second-leg. We'll need to be professional but, as long as we do our jobs right, we're confident of progressing to the Coppa Italia Lega Pro second round. I'll probably make a few changes to freshen things up as there's a few players with tired legs. Edited February 7, 2022 by Stuniverse
Stuniverse
Wednesday 31st August 2022 Viterbese v Siena - Coppa Italia Lega Pro rd 1, 2nd Leg Siena lead 4-2 I'm delighted with the performance tonight. We rested some players, got the result and are through to the next round. I thought we were the better team before they were reduced to 10-men. Niccolo Ricchi deserved to go as it was a reckless, two-footed lunge. After that, we were very comfortable and goals from Ricardo Farcas and Ignacio Lores Varela wrapped up a comfortable 6-2 aggregate victory.
