I did however start a little fantasy youth challenge by moving rangers to Vanarama North, releasing all players over 20, slapping on a 200 year transfer embargo and away we go. It’s obviously not that much of a challenge compared to the real deal starting at that level but it’s a fun little save to tide me over until FM23. I found this A LOT easier than my Greece and while I don't want to use the word "easy", it was a pretty straight forward two way battle for the title, which we managed to come out on top of, despite throwing away a two goal lead in our final game and Kelantan scoring late (I was sweating a little when I saw their 89th minute equaliser). Generally, I like to play with one up top with two attacking wide men, but without a single winger in the squad and an apparent lack of full backs all together, I was forced to go with two strikers. The club's stadium 'Ministry of Defence' certainly lived up to it's name with us having the meanest defence in the league. The season was really only about one man, my striker Muhd Syafwan Mohd Syahlan who finished top of the Goalscoring (13), Average Rating (7.48), Assist (7) and Player of the Match (5) charts for the club. At 30 years old, he isn't going to be around for too long, so we will continue to enjoy his presence in the team. Five players represented the club in the Team of the Year, including two 16/17 year olds in Lee Hwee Koon and Razak. Malaysian FA Cup Spoiler We managed to win our first game before a humbling defeat by Malaysian powerhouses Johor DT, who not only won the FA Cup, but also the Charity Cup to win the Double, finishing 2nd in the top division despite being pre-season favourites. Eliminated in the Third Round. Youth Intake Spoiler With our small squad, we were hoping to add some much needed reinforcements as well as some height (only one player is 6'0"). The initial preview was promising. It's somewhat strange to finish the season without our youth players revealed, so it was a little bit of a waiting game to see how pour squad would shape up for the following year. A decent youth intake (which I suppose is to be expected at this level with limited squad options), with Rizal Ismail the real stand out and Hariz Kamar as well. The joy of managing in Malaysia is that the standard is poor enough that it should be very easy to implement youth prospects straight away. Post Season, Finances, Transfers & Review Spoiler Rumours circulating of a possible takeover are hopefully true given us leaking money, although they're apparently not to be believed. The poor financial situation meant there were no improvements to any facilities, however I managed to land a coaching course for myself Confirmation of no transfers. And game summary. New Contract // 100th Games In Management Copa do Nordeste Like last season we got past the group stage and got knocked out in the quarter final. Spoiler Copa do Brasil Pretty bad performance in the Copa do Brasil. Last season we got in the 3rd round, this time only to the 2nd round. But losing to Corinthians isnt that bad, if you ignore that we got the proper Brazil treatment. Spoiler Paraiba State Championship Absolut no problem in the Paraiba SC. Spoiler Serie B After we got spanked by Corinthians in the cup I had a bad feeling starting the Serie B campaign. Well...we did back2back promotions. Spoiler Finances are looking bad, but this will hopefully change in Serie A. Spoiler I dont know what to expect next season. Three players are retiring, 2 CM and 1 CB. One injury to much and we are playing with kids in the Serie A. Popular Post SkiIIs Posted September 16, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted September 16, 2022 Season 2033/34 - Super League 1 The season started really early for us since we entered the Euro II Cup in the second round qualifiers. We were drawn against Mladost GAT of Serbia who were no match for us, 9 - 0 on aggregate. Next up was Norrkoping FK of Sweden who put up some resistance but we got through unscathed 3 - 0 on aggregate. We then had Honved from Hungary (some really generous fixtures) where we also won 3 - 0 on aggregate. We were handed a decent Group of Besiktas, Basel and Sepsi OSK from Romania. My first three games were all draws in games where we were the better team, we then won the next 3 games to finish second behind Besiktas. We then went on an amazing run all the way to the final knocking out Leicester and Celtic on the way to the Final where we met our match in Valencia. We scored first but copped a 56th minute equaliser in what was an even game. It just wasnt to be which makes it two Cup finals, for two runners up medals. The Euro Cup games along with a Greek Cup run into the semi finals really crunched the fixtures in. Having games postponed for water flooded grounds also didnt help. At one point, we played 3 games in 5 days which ended up in 2 league loses and a Greek Cup semi final knockout against Xanthi which really shouldnt have happened! This meant we really underperformed in the league and missed out on the championship group by the finest of margins. We really crumbled towards the end but given we needed to finish 5th to qualify for Europe, i dont think we would have caught Asteras anyways. We took all three podium places in the NxGen rankings which is the first time ever: Arapi is already a Greek international: Kokliotis has replaced Fragis up top and was serviceable in his first season. Scored 10 league goals in 21 starts, so hopefully he will be more prolific next season Im a bit surprised about this one, he was my back up Striker as Im quite lean after Fragis left. My mezzala Loukos tore his ACL just before the Euro Cup final so i will play him there next season: Youth intake was ok, there's one or two players i can see a bright future for. The other will need so luck/hard work: Tzeferakos is the standout and will be needed soon im predicting Miscellaneous: Olympiakos for the second time have offered me an interview which was nice. We also played at the Panionios GSS Ground for the last time as we look forward to playing in our brand new Panionios Stadium next season (yes, very creative naming rights). Psycharis was my third ever player to be capped by Greece and finished second in the Greek Player of the YEar award, unfortunately he refuses to sign a contract and will either leave at the end of next season or earlier if the right offer comes for him. I also have another gun midfielder in Pipinis who also refuses to sign so I have lots to think about. We got past MFK without much hassle and beat Finn Harps over 2 legs, 5-2. The last round before the group stage brought a pretty unfavourable draw, pairing us with Rangers. A 1-1 draw in Wales was followed by a 2-1 loss in Glasgow and it was out in the qualifiers, unfortunately. After 18 league games we found ourselves 10 clear of TNS, although they did have 3 games in hand. Another 5 games on and a 2-2 draw away to Barry Town put TNS back top and we couldn’t get near them after that. We eventually finished 2nd (for the 11th year running), 13 points behind TNS. The crazy thing is the top 3 has been 1. TNS 2. Corwen 3. Barry Town for the whole 12 years. Pretty boring really!! The League Cup brought TNS to north Wales as early as the 3rd round. That’s never a good sign. A 3-2 loss meant it wasn’t to be this year. The Welsh cup saw another good run with us making the final for the 5th time and 4th year running. The pain in the a**e TNS lay in wait. A good performance from the boys though saw us come out with a 2-0 victory to take the cup back to North Wales for the 2nd time. THE PLAYERS Danny Greaves had sat in the background as the backup keeper and with Pope moving on, he came straight back in and carried on where he left off. Thomas Taylor is developing into a great left back. How long before the bigger clubs come sniffing? 176 league goals for Lewis Jones in now a club record. THE YOUTH INTAKE A good intake. Brett McCormick looks very promising and went straight in at the end of the season, bagging 4 goals in 5 appearances. Page 1 Page 2 OFF THE FIELD Another two players moved on, first it was Ryan Capes to Aston Villa. I can’t seem to get the release clauses of the better players above £400k, and as a result we only got £375k for him. He did have a 50% of next sale clause. The next one was Dan Pope to Man City. I end up transfer listing these players and offering them out for less than their value, but with the next sale clause included, hoping that they eventually move on again for a large fee. A measly £195k for Pope who is now worth between £35m - £41m. By the end kof the season we were able to buy out Pope's clause and net us a hefty £3.49m. We were dynamic before Christmas and very poor after. We still qualified and failed, in the promotion playoffs. Season Details League Table - Thanks to our form in the first half of the season, we finished eighth and squeezed into the promotion playoffs on the final day of the campaign. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were terrific up to Christmas, then a seven match losing run eliminated any chance of promotion. Promotion Playoffs - It was more heartbreak. Despite leading two nil on aggregate at one point, FC Eindhoven overturned this and won by three goals to two on aggregate in the first round. TOTO KNVB Beker - A first round loss away to top flight Vitesse ended any hope of a cup run this season. Friendlies - It was a mixed bag of results as we prepared for the new campaign. Squad - Despite an inferior season to last year, we are still punching above our weight with this squad. Squad Dynamics - Despite our recent poor form, this is rather good. Transfers In - None. Transfers Out - Three players were sold for transfer fees, including one of our best players as I need to balance the books. Youth Candidates - Right winger Jean-Pat Staub YP28B50 is the best prospect out of a fairly good intake. Finances - Despite raising over £500,000 in player sales, we still lost over £1million. We need promotion or an injection of cash. Key Players Gianni Vandepitte - The central midfielders form deteriorated as the season went on. Miraç Akdeniz - The Turkish striker is very inconsistent. Fabian Korporaal - Now aged thirty, the defensive midfielder has started to decline. They were eased aside 12-2 on aggregate. A little tougher in the next round against Sepsi OSK, but we did well finishing out 5-2 aggregate winners. Shamrock Rovers up next and we blitzed them 4-0 in the first leg. The 2nd leg wasn’t quite as straight forward. After 46 minutes we somehow found ourselves back level at 4-4. McCormick and Owen-Dafydd goals put the nerves at ease, even if Shamrock did get it back to 6-5 on aggregate in injury time. Getting past Shamrock meant another group stage appearance. The group games started well with a 2-1 win in Denmark against FC Kobenhavn. 2 draws with Swedish Hammarby, 2 wins against Molde and a home defeat to Kobenhavn, meant we had secured qualification out of the groups again. In the knockout stage we met Genk, losing 3-2 in Belgium but overturning it in a 5-3 home win. The end of the road was St Gallen in the 2nd knockout round. 2-2 in the home leg, followed by a 3-1 away loss. Our best ever performance in Europe. The league went exactly as it has gone since time began. For the thirteenth season running it was (you guessed it) 1st TNS, 2nd Corwen, 3rd Barry Town. In the League cup we had a great run all the way to the final, only to be beaten 3-0 by TNS. The Welsh cup saw us not reach the final for the first time in 4 years. Beaten 4-0 away at TNS in the quarters. THE PLAYERS Ibrahima N’diaye has come straight into the team and retrained as a right back. A great break out season. Ryan Proctor came back in at left back, after Taylor moved on. Lloyd Jarman has carried on his good form and Keenan Owen-Dafydd finished the season with 49 goals in 37 games. Brett McCormick made the left of the front three his own and chipped in with 26 goals in his first full season and Lewis Jones got another 26. THE YOUTH INTAKE Dale Rawlings this year’s best player. Another one that will need to be re-trained as we don’t play with wingers. Page 1 Page 2 OFF THE FIELD Thomas Taylor got his first full cap for the United States, and we managed to buy out Capes’ sell on percentage clause for £3.9m. Taylor ended up moving on to Man City for a meagre £130k. Once again, I did manage to sneak a sell on clause in. This clause was then bought out for £3.44m. Dynamo Moscow up first. A tricky tie but we manged to win 3-2 in Russia and top it off with a 6-3 home win to go through. Next was Hammarby, who we had drawn with twice in last seasons group stage. A 4-1 home win was followed by another draw in Sweden, 2-2. FC Midtjylland was in Wales for the 4th qualifying round 1st leg where we could only manage a 2-2 draw. We put it right in Denmark though with a 3-2 win, to put us into the group stage again. We managed to get through the group stage unbeaten, beating Legia Warsaw twice as well as Albacete of Spain. The best performance being a 4-0 win in Spain. The second knockout stage saw us lose the first leg in Croatia to Dinamo Zagreb. We overturned it in Wales with a 3-1 win. Into the quarter final. Sloven Liberec. A disappointing 0-0 at home in the first leg was more than made up for in the 2nd, with a 5-1 win. The semi-final saw us meet Charleroi, of Belgium. The tie was almost over after a 3-0 home win in the first leg. A 3-2 loss in Belgium didn’t matter and we were into our first European final against Southampton. The final was played at Ibrox, Scotland. It turned out to be a step too far unfortunately, as we went down 4-0. I can’t complain though, just getting anywhere near this is a massive achievement for where we are as a team. An excellent season in the league going unbeaten in the first 24 games and taking 4 points off TNS when we met them in the first 2 league meetings. It was (of course) TNS who halted our unbeaten run, but we still had a 6-point gap ahead of them, having played the same number of games. They did pull back level, after 29 games, but we still had 2 games in hand that we won to take us back 6 clear with three to go. We played TNS wedged in between the Europa Conference quarter-finals and had to play a second string team to keep fitness. It backfired and we went down 4-0 to cut the gap to 3 points with 2 games left. Not to worry though, by the time we played Newtown away, we knew a win would make us champions. We didn’t disappoint and ran out 7-0 winners to bring the title to Corwen for the first time. Finally, TNS are pushed aside!! The battle continued with TNS in the League cup, where we met them in the final. Maybe the tide is turning, as we ran out 2-1 winners to bring the League Cup home for the 2nd time. The Welsh Cup Quarter-Final was the meeting point for the two teams. A 3-1 away win for Corwen meant that our name was on the cup, beating Aberystwyth Town 1-0 in the final, to lift the cup for the 3rd time and take home a domestic treble, 1 game away from a quadruple. THE PLAYERS I could have listed every player from the team here. I have listed some of the standout players. THE YOUTH INTAKE Pretty standard intake. Hoping that Josh Davies can replace Owen-Dafydd. Page 1 Page 2 OFF THE FIELD Another year and another player moving on. This time Owen-Dafydd to Sheffield United for £135k. These minimum fee release clauses are driving me crazy. Just before the new season starts, Brett McCormick was pinched by Man Utd for £325k and, despite offering him around, I couldn’t get any clauses in this one. It’s so frustrating. But our seaosn was worse than last year. QUAIAH replaced the retired TEIJSSE in the front, while VAN DE VEN replaced LINTHORST during teh seaosn in the center back. ISRAELSSON is really growing well, already at 3 stars. We did do really well in the cup this year getting into semi-finals just to lose to Ajax in extra time. Utrecht got relagated so that means Jong Utrecht went down in KKD. This means a big chance we are going to get another amateur side in KKD in a year or 2. Feyenoord with 4th championship in teh row. This time with VAN BRONCKHORST in charge as SLOT left to Man U!. Our stadium got some extra seats...just to get extended yet again. It seems we will have 5k seats next year. For now we play 2nd seaosn in row in Alkmaar. Season stats Facilities got expanded and Youth recruitment is up to max. But we will slow down with extensions now as they are getting expensive. Youth Another Golden Generation?! Yes! this time it was...and it brought a wing back and a goaly!. Six 4,5 potential players is great! Best two out of the bunch of 6: BÜCKER will probably soon take over RB place from ISRAELSSON so he can go back to LB. Already quite decent stats. AVDULLAHU. Does he eat meat? Will retrain him to MC with passing 17, first touch of 15 and technique of 12! Great skills already. He's just very very slow. We also had a Testimonial for Azuhar, who after sulking for being our number two keeper, was loaned out. Unfortunately, we couldn't mark a fantastic 10 year career at the club, which saw him appear a massive (checks notes) 39 times with a win, but oh well. To make things even funnier, because he sulked and got loaned out to Felda Utd, he didn't actually appear in either match day squads for his Testimonial. Finally, I accidentally sent one of my coaches to an early season press conference where he suggested our striker Mohd Syahlan was preferred to Mbappe. A bold claim indeed. Upon further inspection, he was talking absolute waffle. Malaysian Super League Spoiler A fantastic first season in an extremely tight Malaysian Super League saw us finish 3rd and gain continental qualification. This was again, a lot easier than my first season in the top flight in Greece. Mohd Syahlan continued to be our stand out performer topping the goals, assists (joint), average rating and player of the match (joint) for a second season running. Now 31, I imagine he will slowly decline and hopefully we can get some young blood in to continue his legacy. Our stadium, Ministry of Defence, continued to make good of it's name with another season where we conceded the fewest goals in the league. It really does help when your defensive spine of the team is your four best players, long may it continue. Our Continental qualification was confirmed with our place in the Confederation Cup, however with Selengor winning both the League and FA Cup, there is the potential we may go straight into the Champions League next season...that should be, erm...fun? Our defensive midfielder Rizal Ismail received a call up to the Malaysian U19's, becoming the first player in the save to represent the National Team at any level. Malaysian FA Cup Spoiler A poor showing saw us lose our first game, eliminating us in the just the Second Round. Malaysian Cup Spoiler This season saw our first inclusion in the Malaysian Cup after the league had ended. With very little prize money (£36k to the winner), it gave us a chance to use some youngsters who perhaps hadn't received as much game time as they should have as well as some of the new Youth Intake. Sadly, Johor DT taught us a lesson or two and we could only manage second in the group - probably what was to be expected. Unfortunately, a 90th minute goal in the away leg saw us eliminated in the Quarter Final against Terengganu. WIth this being our final game of the season, this is how the player stats ended up. While not listed, our new youth prospect Ali Shariff (see below) managed an impressive 3 goals and 2 assists in his 6 Malaysia Cup games, almost being included in the top assists throughout the season. Youth Intake Spoiler It is still extremely strange to end the league season without revealing our Youth players, so once again we had to wait. The initial preview was a mixed bag to say the least, with one of our best players being a Goalkeeper already. A really strong youth intake saw four fantastic players, with RB Saufi Adbullah the stand out. It's just a real shame for Ismail (GK) that one of our best players in the squad is our existing number one, who is still only 26. Finances, Transfers & Review Spoiler Our finances continue to be an issue, with the club hemorrhaging money. Although rumours of a takeover are circling, they are apparently not to be believed, however, there could be late drama... As a result of our poor financial situation, there were no improvements to facilities or coaching badges. Confirmation of no transfers. I managed to slowly get through another 5 seasons in my Energie Cottbus save but have made zero progress, in fact the team has regressed each season through a lack of player development and my own ineptitude. So I've shelved the save in the 2047/48 season, which is pretty much the only save I've had this FM. I may come back to it at some point but there's no joy right now. But I'm obsessed with the challenge and have tried a few different leagues to find somewhere interesting/comfortable. Each attempt has ended due to some second season syndrome I seem to have, until now... I've just taken the reigns at Danish club Holbaek B&I. On first glance they have a very capable first team, with a couple of promising newgens already. However, being an amateur club not a single player has a contract so I guess I'll mostly be fending off bigger clubs in my first season in charge. The league splits in 2 after 22 games and there's 4 relegation spots for the 6 six who find themselves in the bottom half of the table which is a little daunting! Libertine13 Posted September 17, 2022 Share Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) Season 1 (22/23) So I'd inherited a fairly good squad in terms of star rating, but being an amateur club no one was contracted to us and there were plenty of clubs sniffing around our better players. Before we'd even kicked a ball we'd been poached of 19 players! Including both of the young prospects that had come through the youth system the previous season. Svensson (22a) and Kiilerich (22b) would have been first teamers for us as well... Spoiler Both Svensson and Kiilerich were lost on free transfers before I'd even had a chance to play one. No future transfer clauses either, massive blow. As the season went on it was clear to see that there wasn't much between the majority of the teams, in fact there were only 9 points separating 2nd place and 10th. Unfortunately we only managed to finish in 8th position after the 22 game preliminary stage, leaving us in the Relegation Stage, fighting for the top two spots to keep us in the division and a job! We actually only lost one of the 10 games in the Relegation Stage, however we drew 6 of them so it was a lot tighter than I'd have hoped come the end of the season. Our youth intake came through just before the second part of the season and it was very good, a few players were put straight into the first team upon their 16th birthdays. Hans Bjerring in particular looks like a brilliant prospect, he managed 5 appearances since coming through the youth system and earned himself a 7.30 rating in those few matches. Spoiler It's unfortunate for Thomas Svenningsen that we already have a very good goalkeeper, but if we're able to keep hold of him he'll most likely force his way into the first team in a couple of seasons, no doubt. Spoiler Allan Dige made an instant impact, scoring on his debut and claiming the MoTM award. Spoiler Basically achieved the bare minimum in my first season. Hopefully with a little bit more luck we'll be finishing in the Promotion Stage just so there's no threat of demotion. There were few players who stood out for me this term, but young striker Marcus Stoltenberg didn't do himself any harm with 17 league goals in 29 appearances. Mikkel Jensen, versatile winger, deserves a mention as well with 8 goals and 12 assists. First time qualified for europe too! Feyenoord with 6th championship in a row! After Jong Utrecht relagating last year this year Jong PSV went down...so maybe in 2 years 2 amateur teams might be in KKD! Some changes in our first 11. GRAVENBERCH got sold to Spain for only 250k. VAN DUIVENBOODEN got two bids accepted for him for 10mln!!! but ge declined both. As we have some youth players knockin on the door I thing I might accept a lower bid just to get the money. BRANDS entered the team and in his first seaosn he was amazing. 29 goals in the league and topscorer of Eredivisie. So we have our replacement already as main striker. PIMIENTA entered the team as LB (retrained). And got up to 3 stars but seems that is his max. For now a decent team player. We have now 5 regen youth players in our first 11. Oh yeah nealry forgot....we WON the CUP We had really easy teams and Vitesse in teh final was teh best we played. So Lucky season and our first trophy! After wasting few millions expending our stadium...they decided 'Goed Genog"is just not good enough anymore. And they want to build a 15k new stadium! Seasons so far: Training facility went up to great. Average amount of people watching our game is growing nicely. And ofcourse our first cup win!. Youth Hmm after 3 years only excellent. And it's quite average. Only three 3.75 stars potential players. The best two are midfielders so that is great. VALENTE will steal hearts of our gay and female fans. If he makes the first team. With his determination I have low expectations. M'FWAMBA has a really difficult name that I do not think I would be able to pronounce correctly. Other than that the dude is decent but also very low determination. We missed out on 10-12 games and roughly 500k income...sad. Spoiler Copa do Brasil Since we are in the Serie A this means we start in the 3rd round of the Copa do Brasil. We got past Goias, but we lost in the 4th round to Palmeiras. Spoiler Paraiba State Championship Won the SC for the 3rd time in a row. This should continue, since every other Paraiba state team (minus Botafogo (PB) Serie B) are Serie C and below. Spoiler Serie A We finished the season on a solid 13th place. We never were in relegation threat, so Im pretty happy. We had an email, that we qualified for the Copa Sudamericana, but the league doesnt show it. Spoiler After one season in Serie A we are out of any trouble. Spoiler Slowly the regens are taking over. Our main keeper probably got one more season in him, then he will retire. Our biggest area we need to "improve" is the defense. Popular Post libbyshuss Posted September 18, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) Croatia Premier League 2048/49 Season Summary League - ran away with it again and it was never really in any doubt, except for a weird run each side of the winter break where we lost 4 out of 5, including losing at home to the bottom 2 in consecutive games. luckily it was just a blip and normal service soon restored Champions League - We were seeded first! But there were teams like Real Madrid seeded second and AC Milan third so there was still every chance we'd get a crazy difficult group. As it was we got Servette, Real Oviedo and Gladbach, none of whom struck fear in our hearts. So we went in to the first game, home against Servette, full of optimism. Obviously, we lost it! But after that, we were great and qualified as group winners! Seeded for the second round also means nothing - we got PSG! They were far too strong for us but still, baby steps and that! Players Best thing about our Champions League run is it made our better players happy and willing to sign new contracts! Nenad Bubalo 41B, our best player, suddenly decided he was happy to stay after all and signed a new release fee free contract! Almost as good as winning the Champions League! For the first time I feel confident about holding on to our better players. Looking at the best XI at least half are way too good for the Croatian League realistically, and easily among the best players in the league. The young defenders are coming on nicely as well. Youth The problem with such a strong squad is youth intakes start looking disappointing in comparison. We've not had a golden generation for a while and there's little star potential in the U19s at the minute. I need a good intake! Really encouraging preview! 5 stars, golden generation, 3 As - happy with that Three elite talents at this stage is very pleasing. 3 stars is rated by our coaches as a leading player for our league! But it's all down to personality and determination..... Really disappointed by Velimir Plum - temperemental is by far my worst personality type. Other than that it's a really pleasing intake. I'm also pleased to see my affiliates coming through with a Czech and Uruguayan player in the intake! I mean, they're no good, but still see nice to see them! I signed about half of these players in the end, its our best intake for a few years with a really good range of personalities. Finances and Upgrades Stupid technological advances meant both our training and youth facilities dropped a level. The board happily agreed to improve training but there's till no option to even ask for a youth upgrade. Didn't get anywhere near completing it but really enjoyed it. Adding/removing leagues makes it so much easier now. It's very different to the youth challenge as its the ultimate journeyman save, and i've been missing them a little bit so I might be joining you with trying the ultimate challenge again before heading back to youth. Season Details League Table - We enjoyed our best ever league finish of fourth, whilst never seriously challenging for automatic promotion. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We won more games than we should of done as we overachieved once again. Promotion Playoffs - We finally made it through to the second round though Go Ahead Eagles beat us over two legs after the second leg went to extra time. TOTO KNVB Beker - Another tough draw in the first round saw the club crash out at the first hurdle for the second straight year, with divisonal rivals VVV-Venlo proving to be too strong. Friendlies - Just the sic games this year and we won five and drew one for an excellent pre season campaign. Squad - We continue to improve, albeit slowly. Squad Dynamics - As good as you would expect. Transfers In - None. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - With Ayrton Statie way past his best, he was allowed to leave on a free transfer, back to his homeland of Curaçao. I also allowed a large number of youngsters to leave on loan to gain some match experience. Youth Candidates - It was a good intake, with several decent prospects. Striker Twan Egmond YP29F70 is rated the best of the group. Finances - We continue to lose money and are heavily in the red. Key Players Fabian Korporaal - Despite now being the wrong side of thirty, he recovered his form from two years ago. Özgür Mutlu YP27A33 - We would be lost without our star. He is now arguably the best player in the division, never mind our club. Ugur Altinas - Our central midfielder had another solid year. Mike van de Meulenhof - Our goalkeeper was as reliable as ever. Daniel Mendes - We are desperate for a better defence and whilst this chap is not exactly world beating, he did raise his game considerably this season. Next Season If we continue to qualify for the Promotion Playoffs, I will be a happy man. In the league things started well with us going unbeaten in the first 17 games, drawing both games with TNS. It felt like it was going to be a straight shoot out. However, dropped points against Aberystwyth and Bala meant that as soon as we lost 3-0 at TNS in January, the league was virtually over. As a result, there were times towards the end of the season that 2nd string teams were put out to rest players for European games and performances dropped. 2nd place was never in doubt though. Back to the previous 12 or 13 years with TNS 1st and Corwen 2nd, Aberystwyth did manage to pip Barry to 3rd place though. In Europe it was the Champions League qualifiers for the first time for the club. It didn’t quite go as planned, losing over 2 legs disappointingly to Duajska Streda. Losing in the Champions League meant it was on to the Europa League for the first time. We breezed past Havnar Boltfelag 10-3 on aggregate and then met Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the play-off. A 2-0 home win, after a 0-0 in Israel meant qualification to the group stage. We didn’t perform too badly in the group and had a memorable comeback in Amsterdam against Ajax to draw 5-5, but we just missed out and finished 3rd, meaning back into the Europa Conference. Soligorsk and Slovan Bratislava were pushed aside before we met Ludogorets in the Quarter-final. We won the home leg 3-0 and just got past them with a 2-0 loss in Bulgaria. Villareal in the semi-final. A 1-0 loss at home was followed by a 1-1 draw in Spain. So close to back-to-back finals, but it wasn’t to be. In the League cup we were out at the first time of asking, losing 3-2 at home to TNS. The Welsh Cup was better though. We met the dreaded TNS at the Semi-final stage and put a 2nd string team out ahead of our Europa Conference quarter final tie. The game finished in a 1-1 draw and we managed to win the shoot-out to face Aberystwyth in the final. Once again, we rested first team players, and I expected a close game. The boys were superb though and we ran out 6-1 winners to win the cup for the 4th time. THE PLAYERS N’Diaye and Rawlings are unsettled. They don’t have minimum fee release clauses, but I may consider moving them on and giving someone else a chance. THE YOUTH INTAKE Pretty standard intake. Josh Absalom the standout player. Page 1 Page 2 OFF THE FIELD Ours and TNS’ performances in Europe have meant that we now have two Champions League places from the 2055-56 season. Wow!!! It's very different to the youth challenge as its the ultimate journeyman save, and i've been missing them a little bit so I might be joining you with trying the ultimate challenge again before heading back to youth. (I think my downfall last time I tried was going to the big leagues first rather than starting somewhere small in Asia/Australasia) I like the youth challenge but I do find I get the new club itch and I do miss signing players rather than getting the best staff you can find and then praying to the FM gods for a good intake From what I read on the ultimate challenge thread it does seem like you go to the obscure leagues to get some “easy” trophies and get your badges, I haven’t done a journeyman in a long time and even then it was just the British steel challenge so it was only 4 nations east with similar league rules etc. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Only way to fix it was someone here suggested to edit the youth knowledge of the chairman to 20. and within a seaosn or 2 you can update the facilities...but it was limited I remember I only got it to 3 stars. It's a 'feature' apparently to do with the hidden ratings of your chairman or something. really annoying though! edit: oops, @the_hdk beat me to it with a better explanation to boot. Popular Post SkiIIs Posted September 19, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted September 19, 2022 Season 2034 / 35 WIthout European football, the season was about taking advantage of less games and focusing on the league. The season went to plan and we were in a title challenge before the league split. After the split, we continue to find it difficult to play against the big 4 on a constant basis. It's a real difficult league to when with this type of system. We managed 2 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses in the 10 games and slipped a position to 4th which means we enter the EU conference league in the third round. The other issue we had to face this year was Pipinis and Psycharis contracts ending this year. We managed to draw the situation with Pipinis finally agreeing to resign part way through the season by Psycahris stated he's leaving very early on. To my dismay, no offers came in for him and he will be joining Juve at the end of the season after being named Talent of the Year and playing for the national team a few times. Without European football, our finances took a massive hit, reaching 6.4m in debt in June, however a takeover a few weeks later wiped that debt clean and pumped the coffers back in the black with 1.3m. We then received our sponsorship money so i swiftly upgraded our training facilities which once complete will be at Good level. Youth intake was decent with some really good personalities up top and the poor personalities to the players with low potential. Kitsos being the pick of a good bunch. Had a new entrant in the NxGen awards, with last years best prospect rated as 30th. I expect good things from this youngster next season! Other things to note are - AEK offered me an interview, Kokliotis won the Golden Boy award, Psycharis and Pipinis were the best and second best Greek players of the year. 8 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Libertine13 Posted September 19, 2022 Share Posted September 19, 2022 Season 2 (23/24) Our second season was a lot more positive, we were never really threatened with finishing in the relegation group, in fact we were 2nd overall come the split. We never relinquished that position during the Promotion Stage but we did need goal difference to see us promoted. I forgot to grab a screenshot of the final table, but as you can see we've got that lovely "P" next to our name... Marcus Stoltenberg continued his bright start under my leadership with 16 goals in 29 appearances. However we lost him for our final 2 games of the season as he bizarrely agreed to join an already relegated Middelfart on a free transfer. Four players that had come through the youth system made their way into our best XI this season. Centre Half Thomas Laursen (22C), who came through the season before I took over has cemented himself at the back and is one of our most consistent performers. Hans Bjerring (23A), has made the DM role his own with an average rating of 7.05 in his first full season. Allan Dige (23C), whilst not having a spectacular season, ended up with 8 goal contributions from the Left Wing and finally Jan Rothmann (23g) has become our first choice Right Back. With our main man up top gone, Thomas Johansson (23D) will be our first choice front man, he chipped in with 5 league goals this season, mostly from the bench. Our Youth Intake was littered with 4/5 star potential players, though I doubt we'll be seeing anyone staking a claim for a first team place just yet, especially as we're moving up a division. I didn't even bother grabbing a screenshot of the most promising players, I'm just hoping one or two maybe develop enough to bolster the squad. Since we've been promoted the board has decided to turn the club Semi Professional, this is some welcome news as now I'll be able to at least tie down a few of our better players on contracts so we don't end up with another Stoltenberg situation! 6 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
