[England Premier Division] Data Issues

Recommended Posts

  • SI Staff

Please post any data issues related to England's Premier Division (Level 1) here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues specific to England's Premier Division (Level 1) should be reported in a new thread on the Bug Tracker (at that link). This would include issues such as league scheduling, league table sorting rules and match rules.

Hi guys,

a french mate on the french forum side spotted an issue on Brentford player Ivan Toney who have the wrong height 187cm in game against 179cm in the real life. I put link of official website profile below to notice.

Nick Pope listed as only having 2 england caps when he's on 7 (his 7th coming in March). Dwight McNeil still listed as being born in London when he is from rochdale.

Thanks again @Rub Me - both those have been sorted.

Something strange happened when I was playing on my Roma save where I have Liverpool on social news and for some reason they hire Brian Kidd as ASM but Lijnders is already in that position at the club. Is Lijnders set up incorrectly on the database making this happen?

1.87m looks correct in photos of him. He's well over 6'.

He’s listed as 179 on Brentford’s website but it’s strange, definitely looks taller than 6’ in pictures.

You see some very funny "official" numbers listed for heights (and weights) on club websites. Eyeballing it is usually going to be more accurate.

Really? I must've just been really unlucky then because I've never had that option.

This isn't really something that should be happening for Liverpool at game start. They seem to always be actively looking to hire Brian Kidd, in this Pre-release beta build. As good as he is, I've got this logged for a coder to review for FM22's release because in real life Liverpool aren't actively looking for another assistant to work alongside Ljinders.  Cheers for reporting this one @Justified & @Spedding.

In real life both Ljinders and Krawietz are Assistant Managers, but I was informed that only one Assistant Manager is allowed in the game in the EPL

Indeed, only one Assistant Manager is allowed in-game in the EPL.  The "multiple assistant managers" option only works in leagues where it is expected that clubs have more than one assistant manager.

This may be a simple no, but does the game ever include buy back clauses (or first option).
Example - I play as Chelsea every year and next in game summer want to buy Livramento back from Saints. Chelsea do have a buy back clause of £20M, but not reflected in the game. There are a few other youngster we sold like this also.
Somewhat related, does Haaland (I know this is outside PL data) have future release clause, or also not possible?

In the personal information of Scott McTominay, under the section for other nationalities its is blank where it should be England as he was born there.

It is also the same with Liam Cooper.

Thanks @Rossk1990 - the above players are not eligible to play for England.  Summary of the change in eligibility rules:

Players can now switch national teams provided they were eligible to represent a second country at the time they first played for their first country, even if they have played in an official competition for the first nation.

This applies so long as they have played no more than three matches (including friendlies), none of the matches were in the final tournament of the FIFA World Cup or confederation competition, and they all happened before the player turned 21.

Haaland will have the clause in the full game release, pending on what's still going to happen.

The buy back clause is in FM22, with multiple press sources stating the fee is 'north of £40m'.

The Athletic say Chelsea’s agreed buy-back clause does not kick in until 2023 - & is set at £50million - although he would actually cost Chelsea around £38million as they will receive a share of the profit from his next move.

In Norwich's favoured personnel Russell Martin is not clickable, as if he is retired or inactive when he's currently Swansea manager (and exists in the game as Swansea manager).

Kwadwo Baah (29237093) should have Germany as his first Nationality. He was born in Stuttgart (Germany) and is in the Germany u19 squad.

(2nd nationality England / 3rd Nationality Ghana)

Germany's u19 squad: https://www.dfb.de/u-19-junioren/team-und-trainer/?no_cache=1

To more accurately reflect his standing in his age group, he could have around 100 CA and his left foot should be ≈ 8

Mo Salah is in the 'Team Leaders' Hierarchy group for Liverpool.  I'm not sure this should be the case.  Liverpool have a publicised leadership group which after Henderson and Milner includes VVD, TAA, Robertson and Alisson.  So the third member should probably be VVD.

I'm not sure if this is a data issue, or a skinning/font issue, but the first and last letter of Iheanacho's surname are not bold and look tiny. I know they're specialist Nigerian letters, so I don't know whether it's the skinning not picking them up or they've been copy and pasted wrong in the data.

Just transmitting the spot with club informations. If teams doesn't put real informations

Appreciate you taking the time to post.

I am certain that our website is wrong on this info, the profiles on the website are afaik updated by an external company rather than the club's media team so player and staff profiles can be inaccurate or entirely devoid of info in some cases. I use them as a guide but nothing more.

Hello, I would like to make a few suggestions for team Chelsea as I feel some of the attributes are a bit off.

GK

To start with I feel Eduoard Mendy could receive +1-2 in reflexes and one on ones and +1 in positioning and concentration. While he isn't called upon often in certain games he is always alert and ready to make saves and he has made some very impressive and clutch ones the past year and a half and has one of the best save percentages in Europe, its hard to quantify goalkeepers through stats but his impact has been obvious.

Defense

I feel Thiago Silva's passing, vision and composure are a tiny bit too low. I say this in comparison to Christensen who has 14 for passing and 15 for composure. Silva is more the playmaker of the two breaking the lines through midfield and long raking balls to the wing. Compared to his peers of elite CBs he is too low for passing.

Christensen needs an increase in strength, it's an area he has improved significantly in the past year and he has been much more dominating in his physical duels in comparison to before where he would be bullied. I would keep his bravey still low but 8 strength, lower than Ziyech is way too extreme

Rudiger. Pace needs to be 17/18, he is consistently named as the fastest in the squad and his surging runs through the midfield demonstrate this speed. I would also give +2 in aggression you only need to watch him defend to note this.

Midfield

Kovacic 13 pass and 12 vision are too low. While his final ball can be found lacking in execution and sometimes he lacks consistency in his passing, I feel this is fairly reflected in the low concentration stat. He is very capable of great forward passes and switches, the disparity between Jorginho and Kova's passing seems too large as Kova's is the more expansive of the two.

Kante. Once again Kante is super underrated in the technical aspect. I would heavily suggest 13 Dribble and 13 Touch. He beats men regularly down the right flank and is a driving force through midfield. Jorginho can't have higher dribbling, that is not his game. Please please please consider this one!

Loftus-Cheek. Deserves at the least 16 Dribble (I would give 17) and 15 First Touch minimum. +2 Composure should be considered and also +1-2 Strength. I would give Dwells on Ball Trait as sometimes he is quite slow to release the ball. I know he hasn't been at his best level in a while, but the stats don't reflect the player profile too well in my opinion.

Mason Mount - I think Mount needs some stat redistribution. Firstly I would suggest lowering Finishing to 11 or 12. His goal output has been found lacking, especially so in the AM position he is playing and he misses good chances regularly, 14 suggests a relatively clinical finisher which he isn't. Dribble up to 13 or 14. I called for this to be lowered last year but he has improved massively in this department, there are regular instances of him beating his man at the byline, though there are still quite a few failed dribbles still.

I would look at boosting First Touch to 16/17 and Technique by +1 while also increasing Balance significantly. To compensate I would lower Passing by 1, Teamwork by 1, Composure by 1, Decisions by 2 and think Stamina/Workrate could be also lowered to compensate . I feel Mason's game has evolved since his debut, his technique has really improved and his play dropping into pockets on the half turn is exceptional, he links the midfield and attack very well. He has alsp become quite robust while defenders are in his back so I think he needs the balance upgrade (or strength). Despite this he isn't too decisive in the final third and his final ball, finishing and decision making leave a lot to be desired and he has become noticeably greedier around the box.

I do also feel Timo Werner is slightly underrated still. Teamwork seems too low (more reflecting his early Leipzig days) and Determination I would argue needs to be higher also. Despite his mishaps he keeps going and going and is always willing to sacrifice for the team and play others in. Despite what the media say's, he had over 30 goal involvements in the season if you count penalties won and was by far the most decisive attacker in the team.

Thank you for reading, hope these changes will be considered. Thanks for the good work, just feel a few areas are slightly off.

Strange one, that. Looks like a font issue because in other places his name appears fine.

Nothing we can do in data, because we want to use these characters for his name. I'll make sure this one is looked at by someone that sorts the fonts for that screen.
