Importing FM21 file into FM20

As seen in this topic, you can import FM20 files into FM21.

What I would like to know, if this is backwards compatible too?
If I find a real nice update for FM21, can I then find all mentioned lines and change them into the FM20 lines and then use those files in FM20?

I would like to use this for transfer updates and league standings updates (most of them are more than a year old, and the FM21 ones are up to date) and use those files in combination with some newly created leagues that were made for FM20.

Can this be done, without crashing my game?

Crashing your game isn't the issue. Crashing your editor would be easy. Maybe if you export to XML and then replace any reference to FM21 to 20?

first of all you need to open the editor file with fm21 and export in xml

second : import exported file in fm20

third : go to the list of changes and remove "id not found" occurrences.
