[FM21] Standing in the Hall of Fame

A Makoto Mega/Mini-Series

In Football Manager every nation and nationality has their own Hall of Fame page, using DaveTheEditor's added leagues as well as the pr0 data update and daveincid & majesticeternity's realism files I'll have one save in each country, starting unemployed in the lowest reputation nation that's playable, Kiribati, as a Kiribati national and stay there until I'm top of the Kiribati Hall of Fame. Once this is complete I'll start a new save in a new country with a new nationality manager and do the same again. I'm predominantly doing it this way so I can work with real life players and so that finances aren't skewed far into the future.

We start with a blank slate, one league win and we're the top of the table by default, right? I just have to win the league with the team predicted dead last.

Our season lasted just a month but it was by no means a poor one. A positive goal different and just the one defeat, we were solid, if unspectacular and it gives us something to work on next season.

We won the league but we didn't play terribly well, I don't think we'll be retaining the title next year, that's for sure! With us winning the league we did enter the qualifying round of the Champions League, we're we also didn't do very well and finished dead last in the group.

Our best season yet as we top our group, and we manage to retain the league! Unfortunately, for some reason, we aren't in this seasons Champions League and despite winning our 2nd league title we managed to fall to 9th in the Hall of Fame, again an issue due to the league being so low in reputation.

I don't think you're ever going to top this Hall of Fame.

It's (obviously) sorted on points first, but since the reputation is low all trophies are worth zero points. It looks like it then goes to alphabetical order on surname. Which obviously you're never going to lead ahead of Enright, Eri, etc.

I'd consider this nation completed now. Kaben Kumar (Kuria) has won one league, you've won two, job's a good 'un.

I love how low a level this is. I think some of my Level 9 players are better :D

Some of your 9th tier players are better and some of these guys are the best players in the entire country. :D Which probably explains their international results...

I think you're correct, I've holidayed a save until 2038 and this is how the Hall of Fame looks:

From now I'll have it that when I'm in the small nations that don't give any points, if I'm the one that's won the most then that's enough for me.

This means that we're now finished with Kiribati and we start a new save in St. Pierre & Miquelon!

I guess you need to win the OFC Champions League to get some points there :D

I can't see myself being able to take an always amateur Kiribati side being able to beat Auckland City, even American Samoa are a step above Kiribati.

Well, surprisingly there isn't such a big gap between NZ and other Oceanic clubs as there is between their national teams. I mean countries like Fiji. Solomon Islands or PNG of course, not Kiribati :D

A.S. Miquelonnaise logo.png

Association Sportive Miquelonnaise is a Saint Pierre and Miquelon football club which currently competes in the Ligue SPM. The club plays its home fixtures at Stade de l'Avenir. Since the 2020 season the team has been managed by Bruno Ferry.

The club was founded in 1949 on Miquelon Island. It competed in the 2018–19 Coupe de France, the first edition of the tournament to feature a team from Saint Pierre and Miquelon. However, they were defeated 1–0 in the First Preliminary Round by fellow Ligue SPM club AS Saint Pierraise and, therefore, did not get the opportunity to compete in Metropolitan France against non-local opponents.

FC Diables Rouges is a Barthéloméen football club. The club plays in the Saint-Barthelemy Championships, where they finished third during the 2014–15 season.

28704468c1b41c518a936601dd1da13b.jpg

Stade de Saint-Jean is a multi-purpose stadium in the Saint-Jean quarter of Saint Barthélemy, an overseas collectivity of France in the Caribbean. It is the only stadium on the island and currently hosts matches of local rugby teams and the Saint Barthélemy national football team.

The stadium was originally constructed sometime before 1979 and regularly had poor soil and grass conditions. In 2010, Roman Abramovich, Russian billionaire and owner of Chelsea F.C., purchased personal property on the island and donated a reported 3 million euros to renovate the stadium. The renovation included the installation of artificial turf and an athletic track. Shortly after completion, the stadium was inaugurated with a celebrity football match which included former professionals Robert Pires and José Touré and formula one racer Paul Belmondo.

The reconstruction of the stadium and addition of a adjacent resort for visiting teams allowed the Saint Barthélemy national football team to play its first home match in 2010 against Saint Martin. These upgrades were again paid for by Abramovich following Hurricane Irma.

You may or may not be wondering, why so many Portuguese 2nd nationalities? And also, if you have really good eyes, why is the AS Gustavia logo just a recoloured logo of the Irish Football Federation logo? Well...

There are around 10,000 people in Saint Barthelemy and around 3,000 of those emigrated from Northern Portugal, mainly Braga, Guimarães, Barcelos and Monção and there's a pretty good article about it here: https://www.jn.pt/local/noticias/braga/braga/quase-metade-dos-habitantes-de-uma-ilha-paradisiaca-sao-portugueses-3044006.html

And my best guess for AS Gustavia is that whilst named after Swede King Gustav III it could be where the majority of the British and Irish immigrants live, but I have nothing to say to back that up.

Here's a fun little titbit for everyone!

The manager of Saint Barthelemy is Maxime Chevreuil, a Saint Martinier national...

Who is still an active player and is still part of the Saint Martin national team!

2022/23 Pre-Season

A strong pre-season!

2704406c80129ab6fea60e55f878cac6.png

I've revamped the team so much that we went from 900-1 outsiders to being 15-8 second favourites!!

I wasn't able to sign many of the media dream 11, but I'm just hoping we don't have a repeat of Kiribati where we signed all the best players and then proceeded to still not be very good.

2022/23 Mid-Season Transfer Window, the issue with St. Barthelemy

6506437d024cf11eed50b580c35d89e2.png

No one left us and five joined us, four of which will immediately be in the first team...well they would be. The issue with St. Barthelemy is that there isn't a mid-season registration window, so none of these guys can play in the actual league and they won't be able to be registered until the end of June.

We started off slow but we managed to make our way through to the Coupe de Saint-Barth Final and we weren't particularly good in the 4-game league but there's always next season, we do however need at least 5 pieces of silverware before I can move on.
