ROAD TO THE LAST 16:

France beat Germany 1-0, it was a comfortable win but they didn't dominate or anything. 1-1 draw with the surprisingly good Hungary and the group stages ended with a crazy 2-2 with Portugal. Do we know how good France really are?

Switzerland drew 1-1 with Wales, probably should have won it. They were then dismissed 3-1 by Italy before ending with a 3-1 win over the terrible Turkey.

Feel like France are favourites here despite them maybe not being quite as good as the pre tournament hype made out.

Switzerland were rubbish against Italy and Shaqiri doesn't contribute to the defensive side so I could see Pogba doing more damage from deep. They won't but I'd like to see France put in a complete performance.

It looks like that to me. Which is pretty crap when the "wingbacks" are Pavard and Rabiot.

Why do all the NT coaches have to be egomaniacs?

Now he switches to 3-4-3 and he didn't take Theo.

This is probably another turgid, 1-0 or 2-0 for France.

France to win this one - no surprises there. I actually think it'll be tight for quite before Les Bleus power to victory with a couple of late goals.

And surely Mbappé breaks his duck here. Surely.

Pep'esq. Huge favorites on paper, but let the other side dictate your setup, cause...?

He's switched because his two leftbacks are injured. I assume they'll return to a four when one of them is fit again.

A player lagging behind the rest of his teammates on the walk out is a sign of a large ego.

or a bad ability to tie his laces

*Player misses a half-chance, if that*

Ally: "He's got to score!"

Literally the only fault I have with his commentary.

And in fairness, that's a fault with many pundits. It's surprising how many former players, who will have missed similar chances, still think "oh that's a sitter!" to really difficult chances.

Switzerland haven't won a knockout stage match since 1930? Consistency!

Their last knockout victory was against the Germans in 1938.

Insert your own punchline.

Penalty shoot-outs didn't exist in 1938, you idiot.

Is there anywhere I can watch the game that isn’t ITV Hub?

It has to be the worst on demand/live TV app I’ve ever used. Utter turd.

Free trial for the ITV Hub+ on Amazon Prime if you have it? I think it lasts for 7 days and has a live stream of ITV.

Must've misheard. Either way, impressive to not fluke a win somewhere along the way.
