Seferovic still getting games at International level for the Swiss. :D

Haven't watched either of these two sides since the last international tournament. Going for a draw.

Swiss have two good WBs. Freuler is pretty good.

Two pretty evenly matched sides on paper.

Probably the worst finisher in history of big tournaments.

Rodriguez fell off hard, not the FM player he used to be. :D

EUROS PREVIOUS: Wales v Switzerland

Never met before in the Euros finals, unsurprisingly... after all Wales's unlikely run to the semis at Euro 2016 was their only previous qualification.  But we can wind the clock back to October 2011 and a crucial Euro 2012 qualifier in Swansea.  Crucial for Switzerland anyway.  The Welsh are already out but Switzerland need to at least match whatever result Montenegro get against England... this will keep them in the running and give them a chance of leapfrogging the Montenegrins and nicking a playoff place on the final matchday.  Wales run out 2-0 winners though, and when Montenegro grind out a 0-0 draw after Wayne Rooney is sent off the Swiss are OUT.  Goals from Ramsey and Bale on the night, both still in the side to face Switzerland again 10 years later.  Here's some YouTube footage in 4:3, picks up when Chris Gunter wins a penalty on the hour.

As expected apart from Morrell over Ampadu, but even that's not totally out of left-field. Wish we had a better option to partner Rodon than Mepham who has been a shambles all season. We've got defenders best suited to a 5 w/ wingbacks but the attack hasn't worked without Moore up top.

Why do I think he’s a rock front man any time I hear the name Robert Page?

Is his assistant manager Jimmy Plant? :p

Christ there’s nobody there. Supposed to have had a 50% crowd signed off in Baku aren’t they? Obviously couldn’t interest the locals in watching such also rans.

Will be at 50% when we play our "neutral" game there against Turkey.

Christ. Thought Hennessey was starting in goal at least

Good grief no, absolutely shocking the last couple of years.

Palace got wise and dropped him the last couple of seasons, probably the reason they are still a PL team :D

Is that the bloke who missed loads of chances either at the World Cup or last Euros?

Or all the time for Benfica.

It's harsh for Switzerland. They are playing in Baku now. They have to fly to Rome for the game against Italy and fly back to Baku for the last game against Turkey.

Ridiculous. Nations not in it shouldn't host games imo.

Didn't they initially give him a 5 year contract? :D

He's still the starter and stumbles his way to a reasonable amount of goals due to how many chances he gets. Poor finisher but good all around game otherwise, so he's useful albeit incredibly frustrating.
