Three matches in the group, please vote for the winner of each match.
Winner of each group advances to last 16 automatically.
Two second place teams with worst total vote difference are eliminated, so please vote carefully because every vote will count.

Polls are active for ~24h, give or take.

Everyone is welcome to vote, not just players participating in the draft!
Would also be nice if you could write a sentence or two to explain why you voted the way you did.

To avoid shambles, participants of the group can't vote. If you do, your votes don't count.

Since we have Marius-Darius matchup, please don't bottle the voting.

Too much silliness in SouthCoastRed's team for me, Van Kerkhoven at right back, Keane on the right wing, the perennially overrated Kasper Schmeichel... Niko Kranjčar... even N'Golo Kanté can't plaster over all those cracks!

The tough decision is with the two rhyming opponents; Dejan Stanković is a pet favourite player of mine; great workrate and technique, and a big fan of a goal from absurdly long ranges. beyond him you've basically got a textbook attack for international football, pace, dribbling, guile, striking instincts, headers... all bases covered really - biggest weakness in Marius' team is the two centre backs probably, neither the most technically gifted, and Šimić more suited to right back than in the middle.

For Darius, you've got the best centre forward going at the moment in Lewandowski, and again he's proven to be a manager who's taken functionality into consideration when constructing his midfield; van Bommel in there allows you to carry a relative luxury like Prosinečki for example. I think his defence just about edges out Marius' but I'll hand the tie to the Inter fan just based on the added ability to play a more modern brand of football, though really I'd like to give this one a draw!

I think Darius has a cracking midfield so he edges it over Marius for me.

I can't forgive SCR putting Nico Van Kerkhoven, a pure left back/wing back at right back.

I couldn’t find a right back starting with K in a nation I hadn’t already used :(

I think you missed the point :D

well, if you tie your shoelaces together before a 100m, you're still racing with your shoelaces tied together, even if that's what you've told everyone you're going to do!

Ioannis Kyrastas, Greek from 1980. Versatile player, was a pretty solid right back. European Cup semi-finalist in 1985.

Poor SCR...

Match 1: Kasper, Koeman and Kante is an incredible spine of SCR's team - unfortunately Kallstrom and Kranjcar are underwhelming and Keane is on the right - as is Van Kerckhoven for some reason :D It's a much better team than the meme team he went for but Marius wins this by a couple of goals.

Match 2: Not much to say about this one, Darius has one of the best teams in the competition, best lists of players, deployed sensibly and I can't really see a weakness. Darius wins this comfortably by 3 goals.

Match 3: The Clash of the Titans. This could easily be a final imo. Both teams have areas where they would have a field day. Robson and Tigana could go forward at will and simply brush Marius' midfield aside, while at the same time Darius only has two wide wing backs protecting his flanks (one of whom is a flake) - exactly what you don't want against players as good as Pires and Robben. De Rossi is an incredible player, but I don't think even he could hold off Darius combo of Robson-Tigana and Prosinecki, while his two CB's and goalie would simply be stretched too much to cope with strikers as good as Kirsten and Lewa. Marius would score a couple, but I think Darius wins this, 4-2.

All three teams really unlucky to be in this group together. SCR would likely have come at least 2nd in other groups and Marius wins most of the rest too :D

SCR has a decent team, but other two are some of the better teams in the draft, easy choices.

As for Marius-Darius matchup, Darius has exponentially better defense and it's not even close.

Mihajlović shouldn't be the LB and Alba is better, but we all know what Mihajlović provides. Set-pieces that are probably the best of all-time.

Different formations, it's close in midfield and attack, could go either way, but I have to give it to Darius because of defense and GK.
