im wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Whilst playing last night i went to save and the gamer said that i didnt have enough space to save the game despite there being well over 50G of space on the drive. i decided to reboot the game to see if it would fix it and now it wont let me load any of my saves popping up an error message saying "Could not load the database" i tried the file restore option i read about on the forums and that did not work. I have even tried to start  a new game as a test and it pops up with the same save error and also wont load anything. im on game pass version

Yeah we've been able to confirm that if you save on a hard drive different to where the game is installed (so for instance if the game is installed on C:, then save the game on D:) that it will work as a workaround.

We're very much working on addressing this issue with an update, but for those of you with secondary drives this is a workaround to allow you to play in the meantime.

Appreciate your patience as we deal with this situation. Thanks.

Ok. is there a chance the update will mean the saves will work again or are they just going to be lost at this point?

For those with single drive letters there is a workaround which I've tested and works.

You can map any folder on your computer to a drive letter by <net use> command

For example;

net use x: \\localhost\c$\fmsaves

will map fmsaves folder under c:\ drive to letter X. You can then use drive X to save and load your  games with reckless abandon

Hi guys,

Sounds like I have a similar issue (using Mac). Loaded up and started playing my Newcastle save today and noticed that my autosave failed. So I tried to save manually (but no luck). Then read up on some potential fixes - tried to change file name, and also tried to save to a different location (my desktop). Still coming up with the fail saved message.  Deleted some items from my laptop and cleared some disk space in case that was a potential fix too.

Really don't want to close down my current game right now before I can save it - as I'm worried the save would be lost for good!  I've just led the Toon into the CL and Moukouko is joining us shortly, so I'd be gutted to lose this save.

Has anybody (who uses Mac) worked out how to fix this issue, or how to create a workaround?

Thanks!

There are currently no known issues regarding this on Macs, so advise you to log a ticket with SEGA Support at fm21.info/support-ticket.

Thanks

Yeah this does not work for me.

Have you got any back up saves? May be worth trying these to see if they work.

I'm having (potentially) a related problem:

I have OneDrive

FM21 and Editor icons were missing from desktop

I had files in editor data folder but they would not appear in Steam hence would not appear when trying to start a new game.

no savegames would appear unless i manually went and found them.  Tactics were all there, seemingly unaffected.  Did not look at graphics at all.

These are all files I've used before (I'm notorious for starting new saves lol).  Nothing I did could get them to appear.

Last nite I uninstalled both and moved all the folders/files.

Now that it appears OneDrive may be a contributing factor, I'll delve into that deeper
