Having Problems Launching or Updating EHM? Please Read

If you encounter any issues when first launching EHM, either normally or via the Public Beta version, as a first step we'd ask you to try verifying your game files as shown below:

- Launch Steam
- From the 'Library' section, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' from the menu.
- Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' button.
- Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes. This will always download a number of files even if you've just verified.
- Once the process is completed, close the windows then launch the game.

If you still encounter problems, you may find it's a problem with your anti-virus configuration causing a problem.

Because of this, we recommend if you encounter issues, setting up your anti-virus to make sure it is not conflicting with the game. Please add Steam and EHM to your exceptions. How to do this will depend on your anti-virus, we very much suggest you searching online on the anti-virus’s website for details on how to do this.

For clarification by default Steam and Eastside Hockey Manager will be installed in the following locations:

Steam – C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam

EHM - C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Eastside Hockey Manager

If you think it’s your anti-virus causing a problem with the game, it may be worth following the instructions below and then completely uninstalling the anti-virus program.

Before uninstalling an active anti-virus program, we recommend turning on Windows Firewall/Windows Defender. On OS’s earlier than Windows 8 or 8.1 we’d recommend installing Microsoft Security Essentials which is solid, free and doesn't conflict with Steam or FM. If you run Windows 8.1 or 10 you will already have Windows Defender installed, we would not suggest installing another anti-virus as well as this can sometimes cause conflicting issues.

Once you have setup your anti-virus as above (either with exceptions or uninstalled), we’d suggest uninstalling and reinstalling EHM.

If you still find you're having issues after all of the above, please contact help@sega.co.uk for further support. Thanks.
