deltablue
May 2036 We finished in pretty much the same place as last year, one place lower but with a couple more points. Relegation wasn't an issue after all. We started the year poorly (and it was disappointing to miss out on a potential cup run after losing to Northampton in the cup, as League 2 Birmingham would have been next) but home games against Bromyard and Carlisle allowed us to turn the tide, despite Eastham being on a run of poor form. After the Huddersfield win I felt we were comfortable enough and our form remained pretty good for the most part for the rest of the season, though we also had some tougher teams and a midfield injury crisis late on. It could easily have been much better as we were punished for failing to take our chances score a second (or even first) goal so many times and on balance the fine margins fell heavily against us. We could even have grabbed a playoff spot otherwise. Hopefully next season things can click a bit better, especially with a more gelled side. I took advantage of having a bit of spare wage budget in January to make deals for a couple of players in Denmark (well the DoF did the first one) but I doubt I will do much more. I already feel like I have the core of a strong promotion-capable side in place so it will be hard to improve in certain areas. I also doubt I can offload the players I want to and gain the budgetary room anyway. The massive overhaul feels complete so it's time to try and see what his side can do once it's gelled and developed some more. If we score at least some of the goals we really should have done last year that should take us a long way. Star Player: Once again it's Shilton, despite missing a few months through injury. He even set a new average rating record. Squad Stats
