Unable to remove leagues

I'm doing an AFC Liverpool save so I had an English Database loaded but I can't seem to remove any of the leagues it gives me a date but it doesn't remove it Not sure what to do, If you need my save file I have it on 23rd of June.

Guessing you are using a custom database so if you start a new game without it, does the issue still happen?

Yes It's a custom database, havent tried to start a new game though as I progressed too far to start over

It's been working for me successfully - first time I've done it. It might depend on the timing. I'm playing FM19, Dan's English lower league file. I started at level 13. Every time I win promotion in the close season I go to remove leagues and click on the lowest level - which has a red cross next to it. I'm told the level will be removed after the season ends, ie a year after I've been promoted from it.
