Gibraltar and Brexit and Work Permits

Recommended Posts

How does Gibraltar interact with Brexit on FM? If my wonderkid from the Solomon Islands goes to Gibraltar and gets the nationality, will that mean he has the right to work in the United Kingdom?

Gibraltar citizenship takes 5 years for EU citizens and longer for non-EU- once gained he has the same rights as a British citizen, I think.  Given the time frame, it is unlikely to be worth it.

Ah OK. I saw a video on Youtube where the bloke said it takes just 2 years and to be fair it even said 2 years on one of the players he brought up.

Maybe it's because he's Spanish and there's some special arrangement in place with them?

Possibly- the political situation between Spain/UK/ Gibraltar I suspect is a minefield but I was only quoting what was stated on the web
