The 2021 Community Video Game Playthrough Challenge Thread - March Nominations

Recommended Posts

Its time for the March nominations already

Same format as February, seems to be working ok

  •  3 Games! 1 x Short (1-6 Hours) 1 x Medium (6-12 Hours) 1 x Long (12+ Hours)

General Rules for this month:

  • You can nominate up to 3 games, 1 for each category
  • No Platform exclusives - I want this to be open to as many people as possible
  • Try and keep nominations to easily accessible games. Gamepass is perfect for this, but for those that don't have GP, try and stick to games which are either on sale at the time, or are reasonably priced now, and on as many platforms as possible. Games don't HAVE to be on every platform though, loads of games aren't on Switch for example
  • https://howlongtobeat.com/ is a useful website for looking at length of games

When nominating, it would help me a lot of you could use the format and find the information for the game like:

Alien Isolation (19-23 Hours)

  • Xbox: Gamepass
  • Steam: £14.99 (on sale)
  • PSN £5.99 (on sale)
  • Switch: £29.99

Will just save me loads of time when doing the voting thread, but if you can't be bothered, don't worry about it i'll find that stuff

Games played so far:

  • Alien Isolation
  • Oxenfree
  • Day of the Tentacle Remastered
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
  • Control

Thanks for those, you have however nominated 2 x Medium games (The Medium & Project Winter) and 2 x Long games (Dirt 5 & Wreckfest)

The nominations are for:

  • 3 Games 1 x Short (1-6 Hours) 1 x Medium (6-12 Hours) 1 x Long (12+ Hours)

Dirt 5 and The Medium have already been nominated, so you can pick different games if you wish. If you need to see how long a game is, https://howlongtobeat.com/ is a useful site

If you don't want to change them, i'll just put Project Winter and Wreckfest in

Oh ok sorry I am at work so only quickly glanced. I assumed it was fine if some of us picked the same games. Thanks for clarifying things for me. Much appreciated.

Yeah if you could put Project Winter and Wreckfest as my nominations I would appreciate it.

You mean the nomination thread?

Mean in the actual monthly threads, take the January and February threads in which we play the games and discuss them and roll them over into the next months threads.

The Battle of Polytopia

1-2 hours

Steam £11.39; FREE on iOS, Android (although has fewer playable tribes).

Quote

Fast paced 4X gaming

The Battle of Polytopia is an award winning  turn based strategy game about building a civilization and going into battle. With millions of players, it has quickly become one of the most popular mobile strategy  games.
You play as one of many tribes, explore the world, build cities, develop technologies and wage war against other tribes in order to take control over the mythical land of Polytopia.

So yeah, nothing really to 'complete' here - but it's well worth a look. Steam version costs, but has more playable tribes, better multiplayer, and the ability to customise map setup etc.

Never played it, but Giantbomb used to always say how great it was

The final level is fun, lots of puzzle aspects to it. Every other level is just moving a hole around for things to drop in it. If they went full on into the puzzle aspects it could have been great.
