Yes I've been following it too, he's doing quite well there as well, although I think he might be leaving soon. Georgia and Albania are both new to me (I managed in Bosnia in FM19 I think), but Bosnia will probably be easier. It's a question of what opportunities come up I think. North Macedonia will be activated at some point! Who are you managing, and why is it interesting?

Well, I don't know if you will get the same league setup as me as I am using Riddlers files instead of Timo.  But down in the third division there is a one up one down and I was really struggling due to being semi pro as well as losing money every month and I could do nothing to change it.  Most teams that are relegated from the second division are far better than the teams there already so it makes it very tough.  That was with FK Korab Rebar, but after 2 failed attempts, I managed to jump up to second division with FK Renova, which is Pro and has a bit of money, but not long started there so can't say how things will be.

I think I've heard of Renova, they used to be pretty good and played in Europe a couple of times. I've just found your thread, so once I post my season review I'll take a look at yours :D

Well, we did really, really well! That red card really messed us up in extra time though, but it was an incredible run, and we'll be playing in the World Club Cup in June.

Chapter Four: Georgia On My Mind

I didn't manage another Luxembourg game, as I resigned from the national team a couple of weeks later, and I embarked on a well deserved holiday. I knew the holiday would end eventually, so I made sure I automatically applied for jobs at top division clubs. I got offers for interviews from Luxembourg and Lithuania, but as they were nations I had already managed in I immediately refused. Then I saw the notification that the most successful club (17 league titles) in Georgia had a manager whose job was insecure, and like a tiger I pounced...

This is definitely a club already set up for success, with excellent facilities, reputation and finances. Hopefully it will be a little bit of a shorter build-up than in Luxembourg.

They've always been there or thereabouts, so I will have expectations to immediately do well.

They've definitely been a common feature in European competition, and are currently the highest ranked Georgian team in the UEFA coefficients at 65th, nearly a hundred spots ahead of Saburtalo, the next best team, who at first glance have advanced the furthest of any Georgian team in current European competitions with a QF appearance in the 2051/52 Conference League.

This is already a super strong team. I didn't get to this overall rating with Schifflange until the 15th season!

In accordance with the rules, the neighbouring nations of Georgia will be made playable, which are Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. So two really strong nations, and a couple of decent ones.

A decent enough start, as the players get used to tactics and the like. I won't be doing a full season review for the team because I'd only have been here for less than 10 games, but normal service will resume next season.

Yeah…. It might just be related to the increase in reputation over the course of the save, Luxembourg’s was about 6M when I left.

Maybe.  I am only in 2023 so a good 30 odd years behind and Dinamo Tbilisi only have £3m in the bank

An extremely busy month, as we lose our first league game in quite a while as depth became a little bit of an issue rotating players to keep them fit. In continental news, we've qualified for the Europa Conference League, but the draw hasn't been done yet.

More dominance in the league, and we scraped by Bordeaux to reach the Conference League semi finals. Our opponents?  Dinamo Batumi, who we recently beat 6-1 away. Regardless of who wins, there will be a Georgian team in the Conference League final for the first time.

A very busy month. Rotation was huge here, as we struggled to maintain the squad's fitness, really showcasing the lack of depth beyond the 1st XI. We dropped quite a few games, especially against Dila Gori, and we had difficulty putting Dinamo Batumi away in the Conference League. In the end, we were too tired to put up enough of a fight against Monaco and were duly outplayed. When the rankings come out I'll do the big post with all the previously managed teams there, which will probably be next.

What an amazing job you've been doing. I always look forward to waiting for an update. The method you use to select players is very interesting. I took the formula and tried to visualize what it would look like on my team. For some reason the formula didn't work correctly. Could help me?

I'm having to make 8 or 9 changes to the first team to keep players fresh and it's really starting to bug me. It's also starting to cost us. As a result we're back in the Conference League, in a group that should be winnable. It's also pretty cool to see a Faroese team in there!
