League Table We sit 3pts clear at the top of the table. Our recent good run has put us here. Still a long way to go though! FA Cup A decent run was ended just before the big boys came in. We managed to beat one league side in Stevenage but Morecambe were a step too far! FA Trophy Swift progress to the 4th round where Chippenham await! Player Review - Seamus Allston The best player at the club. He has 12 goals and 16 assists in 30 games so far this season. Goalkeeper Watch Wood has 4 goals in 29 games and Henderson is yet to get off the mark in 3 games! Youth Intake Preview Wont be expecting much here! League Table We only just won the league. Cheltenham did everything in their power to overtake us. In the end they went up in the playoffs anyway! FA Cup We made it 1 round away from the potential big money ties! FA Trophy A good run to the quarter finals where we were beaten by the better team in Fylde Player Review - Marc Pitts A very good season scoring 31 goals and getting 14 assists! Player Of The Season - Nathan Evans Our top scorer this season with an amazing 40 goals. He also contributed 8 assists. Young Player Of The Season - Marc Lovell Our rock at the back really did stand out. Not only in keeping the goals out but he also scored an amazing 12 goals and provided 5 assists from centre back! A bit of a blip in October but we recovered really well in November and December. A great season so far. League Table We sit 5pts off Stockport and look good for at least a playoff spot! FA Cup A great run meant we got to the 3rd round. Unfortunately we were unable to get a kind or big tie but did give Reading a very good game! FA Trophy We made it past Nuneaton and will face Bromley in the next round. Player Review - Youssef Arkine A great free transfer signing in the summer. He has 8 goals and 12 assists in 18 games! League Table We ended up comfortably winning the league as we went on that huge unbeaten run! Professional football here we come! FA Cup A solid run to the 3rd round was ended by Championship Reading! FA Trophy We made it to the quarter final were a rotated squad wasn't enough for Tranmere! Player Review - Nathan Evans Unlucky not to be player of the season. 47 goals and 14 assists is an astounding return this season! Player Of The Season - Chris Tuck It was tight between him and Evans but Tuck got 46 goals and 17 assists to just take the player of the season award! Young Player Of The Season - Marc Lovell Our rock at the back. Again fantastic this season and also deadly from a set piece header. 8 goals and 3 assists from centre back! Goalkeeper Watch Henderson barely played this season so got 0 goals. Wood however got double figures for the 2nd season scoring an impressive 13 goals and getting 1 assist! Entertaining is how you would describe us. 122 goals in our 26 games thus far! League Table At one point we were as high as 3rd but we sit just outside the playoffs in our first season in League 2! FA Cup We managed to get to the 3rd round but didn't get the big or easy tie! Birmingham comfortably beat us. Carabao Cup We managed to knock out Championship Derby and took Premier League Wolves to penalties! Papa John's Trophy Our backups managed to get out of the group stage before Huddersfield knocked us out in a close game. Player Review - Matty Montgomery We signed Montgomery on a free transfer. Formerly of Bournemouth he has an impressive 25 goals in 28 starts and 5 assists! Goalkeeper Watch Ekani has 5 goals in 31 games whereas Wilde is yet to get off the mark in 4 games! We made good progress up the table and 3 wins from the last 4 in the league might have propelled us to promotion? League Table Going into the last day we were behind Morecambe. We needed a win and help elsewhere. Thankfully Oxford provided it by drawing with them and we hammered struggling Wrexham to leap frog up to the last promotion spot! FA Cup Got into the 3rd round but none of the big guns or easy ties came our way. Birmingham thumped us! Player Review - Emilien Olivier Signed on a free transfer after he left Everton he has slotted into the deep lying midfield role providing an impressive 9 assists! Player Of The Season - Shaquille Russell Playing mainly just in behind the strikers Russell got 11 goals and 22 assists this season! Young Player Of The Season - Mohamed N'Guessan Pacy winger seems to be enough for this level! 17 goals and 24 assists from right wing wins him young player of the season! Griffiths, Montgomery and Kinch were all sold for their release fees. Martin and Tuck were no longer required as we have replaced them with better players. Some of the youngsters also went out on loan for some experience! In Saul Rodriguez A solid midfielder who can be utilised in the middle or out on the right hand side! Wilfired Omgba A youngster with some potential. Immediately loaned back out for some experience. Eugenio Prato Our new number 1. Signed on a free and should be a solid player for us. Jeffrey Van Wanrooij With their being a light Brexit I have targeted some dual nationality again. The Dutch American will hopefully be loaned out for experience! Thierry Lusamba The only player we paid money for this summer. 125k from Bolton. Young prospect found by my scouts. Risky as we dont have too much money but I do love a youngster! Chris Gulley Another American although he was born in England. Unfortunately picked up an injury quite soon into the season that has kept him out a while! Robbie Kennedy Young man from my home country. Really good finishing so signed to see how he develops! Hopefully a loan spell away for experience! Alasdair Everitt Mistake here as I missed the work permit issue. We were able to sign him anyway but unfortunately dont think we will be able to use him! Jack Smith Young French / Canadian striker who will be 4th choice at the club. Solid potential here! Loans Lee Daley A solid signing who will be utilised mainly on the right hand side. Jack Braniff Will be our main striker this season. Really solid stats and should get goals at this level. Ken Cain For those that know me I do love a defender who covers anywhere across the back. We did well to get Lincoln to a replay and battered them at home but just couldn't find a way past an inspired keeper! Carabao Cup An amazing run here which included a victory over Premier League Blackburn (albeit their reserves). Everton were too much for us in the quarter finals! Papa Johns Trophy Our backups couldn't get out of the group stage this time but did get a nice morale boosting victory over Man Utd u23's! Player Review - Marcel Gold A solid centre half for us. Played a few times at right back! 2 assists this season so far. Goalkeeper Watch Prato has an amazing 11 goals in 27 games and Ekani is yet to get off the mark but does have 1 assist! We were up and down but still scored a lot of goals! League Table In the end we went up.....just. We lost both our last 2 games but our goal difference was so far ahead we were never in trouble. FA Cup A disappointing season in the FA Cup for us. Carabao Cup An amazing run to the quarter final was ended by Premier League Everton. Papa Johns Trophy We failed to get out of the group stage. Player Review - Thierry Lusamba Our starting left back got a long term injury meaning Lusamba stepped up and played fantastically well and has developed into our new starting lied back! Player Of The Season - Eugenio Prato A nice change from a striker. We did concede a lot but 15 goals from a keeper warrants the POTY! Young Player Of The Season - Jack Braniff On loan Braniff was outstanding. 40 goals and 13 assists! Goalkeeper Watch Prato won our player of the year and scored an amazing 15 goals! Henderson is the top scorer in the league this season with 16 which has really helped and has scored in our last 5 games on the bounce! League Table We sit in the playoff spots currently. Scottish Cup A really disappointing Scottish Cup. After taking Albion Rovers to a replay at home I expected more. What happened was a complete mess at the back as we shipped 6 goals! Betfred Cup I was only here for the last 2 games. A thumping from St Mirren before we beat Clyde 3-1 to jump off the bottom of the table! SPFL Trust Trophy We managed to beat 2 SPL reserve teams on penalties before falling to Arbroath in a classic! Player Review - Jacob Whittaker Whittaker is one of our better prospects. Playing on the left wing he has an impressive 6 goals and 7 assists in 17 (8) appearances. Goalkeeper Watch Fernandez has 4 goals and 4 assists this season so far! Ranked in terms of their PA rather than PPA. Lets have a look at that comparison now. Looking at this now I would say that only the top 2 have any chance of playing in our first team which is not great but considering our youth levels and facilities are very low I guess it is to be expected for now! I signed the top 7 just to flesh the squad out though. Junior coaching has already went through (actually quite a bit of a jump from 6-10??). Youth facilities will be upgraded at end of season. In truth we were lucky it finished only 1-0. 2nd Leg What an absolutely mental last 10mins or so. We scored 3 times in 8mins including 2 in injury time. deez0r Posted May 26, 2021 Author Share Posted May 26, 2021 Scottish League 1 / League 2 Playoff Final 1st Leg Again we left it very late but Henderson completed his hat trick just as we were ticking into injury time to give us a 3-2 win! 2nd Leg Well we were absolutely clinical. 5 goals scored and ruthless in front of goal.
