Euro Cup Group Stage

image.thumb.png.1e5e8da9c85b8f7cb785a9b892ee99a5.png

An away point in Moscow was followed up by a home thumping of Lech. An amazing comeback from 4-1 down to 4-4 away at Everton. They thumped us back at home before a 1-1 draw with CSKA meant we needed to beat Lech in the last game to confirm qualification. We did that in style with another 4-0 win!

image.thumb.png.e204f9c970bfe272db6eba47750169ec.png

A great first season in Europe as we qualify for the knockout stage! Where we will face....

image.thumb.png.6ee475c17da28071cefa57ba13430e08.png

It is a big ask for us to go through here but we need to start challenging ourselves against these types of teams!

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.f49857cb93680d8652c0675ea73d58e8.png

A very good season thus far. Some very good wins in there means we are up and around the top of the table!

League Table

image.thumb.png.d344ae2405f2f8a323a2f5d62552138f.png

We sit 6pts behind leaders Genk and are looking good for a top 4 finish at least!

Belgian Cup

image.thumb.png.61b71980af763d1f6efaf1b55ec91e5e.png

We are on another Belgian Cup run and into the semi finals. We play probably the biggest club in Belgium in Anderlecht in the semis!

Euro Cup

image.thumb.png.1cf29eaa593e369001aa6877c36f435c.png

A thumping of Legia in the qualifying rounds before only losing once in the group stage to finish 2nd and get Ajax in the first knockout round!

Player Review - Joao Costa

image.thumb.png.95e512f2f76c77c555f62ed0292e2c87.png

One of the reasons I wasn't overly worried about losing Ngah. Costa is developing very well and at 18 is one of the best defenders at the club with more potential to be reached!

Goalkeeper Watch

Durand has scored 2 goals in 27 games this season (I only put him on set pieces fairly recently).

Belgian Cup Semi Final

image.thumb.png.e7e12206cc28a26871f0193ef7e65814.png

We gave our best but it just wasn't enough. With Njoh at ACON we really missed his clinical finishing up top. 2 even games but it wasn't to be this year!

Championship Group

image.thumb.png.e6e6cda165679a5280d15c675b416116.png

We begin the championship group 2pts away from leaders Club Brugge. Its a tough ask but its doable!

Game 1

image.png.6cc08b0f1b8d3059e4b210f984781ef3.png

A fantastic performance from us. We were at it straight from the start! Brugge couldn't cope with us! In the other game Genk and Standard played out a dull 0-0 draw.

Game 2

image.png.a565d98d5789f2fabdc6c89bc963dedc.png

A 92nd minute equaliser from Bessa gave us would could prove to be an invaluable point away at Standard. There was no midweek game between Genk and Brugge as Brugge just put one foot into the final of the Euro Cup II.

Game 3

image.png.1b578aabbca15ee387295577ef9521b9.png

Probably our best performance of the season so far. We were great here and dominated the game. Nice to see a goalkeeper goal in there as well! In the other game Brugge beat Standard 2-1!

Game 4

image.png.8897ed477a36b56906bae8c7cc3b09fd.png

Standard were the better team and took a deserved win. In the other game Genk beat Brugge 1-0! Brugge also played their other game against Genk after this and drew 1-1!

Game 5

A win here would seal the title for us.

image.png.85ee151c14ed2e1e620938b114409e6f.png

Well what an incredible game. Brugge havent lived with us in this Championship group and again we battered them from start to finish! An incredible way to win the league!

image.thumb.png.f2ee792dac5a056433d080eed9439331.png

Game 6

image.png.8ef605b21ba33d04994302786a34606d.png

A mainly 2nd string team beat Genk 4-0 with the substitute strikers doing most of the damage. In the other game Brugge's collapse continued as they lost 2-1 at home to Standard!

League Table

image.png.fd0b9330aa59af0e455b88c37eafb218.png

We win the league by 7pts. This wasn't expected bu Brugge only picked up 4 points from a possible 18!

End Of Season

Results

image.thumb.png.96088cf5ed52a583fd6ff9086dd790ab.png

We were great in the 2nd half go the season and really kicked on in the Championship Group. Njoh who I very nearly sold in the summer was unstoppable with 55 goals in 44 games!

League Table

image.png.f9c72b69598c5cee9425d91b6708bd79.png

This is how it looked at the end of the Championship Group!

Belgian Cup

image.thumb.png.ad7c17cee480c9ebb3c0d03e69793652.png

We were unable to retain the Cup as Anderlecht were the better team over 2 legs!

Euro Cup

image.thumb.png.98b39e9d96c40856c24cd37f46c2b06b.png

A good first season in the Euro Cup with us getting out of the group stage before succumbing to Ajax in the first knockout round.

Player Review - Benjamin Petek

image.thumb.png.b9cf57650a8bfc3fca0fa2c8bc600e24.png

Petek we signed from Slovenia for 175k and he is turning into a machine down that left hand side. He has everything you want in an attacking full back. 10 assists this season from left back!

Goalkeeper Watch

Durand ended up with 6 goals this season whereas Martins hasn't scored yet!

Overview

Belgium is complete but I am tempted to stay for another season to see how we get on next season. Currently there are no jobs going in the Bulgarian 2nd division so for now I am staying!

New Club, New Country

image.thumb.png.74d6430a3b227f85259a2f0c5d64bbe0.png

I really think I was building something special with Tienen with the great young players but I am still only on the B's and I want to complete this challenge! So we are off to manage Pirin Blagoevgrad in the Bulgarian 2nd Division.

Transfers

Out

image.png.141b79376da1d3a0c05aaabfaccf1bf6.png

Nothing major here. A lot of bit part players who I no longer needed as well as some younger players who wouldn't make the grade.

In

image.png.8eebea2597dc6d242c1f2a811c6ae757.png

We had 1.7m to spend when I joined and due to the rule of only one foreigner in the match squad I was limited to where I could go. So I bought up some of the better younger Bulgarian/non foreign players and probably overpaid a bit in some cases.

Iliya Evtimov

Stefan Kalaydzhiev

Emiliyan Ganev

Svetoslav Stanev

Marcel Wagner

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.c0faacd5601716833321e038fd58d25c.png

We were predicted 3rd but with the quality we brought in especially further forward has really shown. We are scoring nearly 4 goals a game!

League Table

image.png.b37ee8b2892ad31211ba097533e7d789.png

Well the most straightforward of seasons so far. 100% record halfway through the season. We should be shoe-ins for promotion.

Bulgarian Cup

image.thumb.png.544ca555889d8f02cae37507609b9ff2.png

We got through the Preliminary round before being drawn against of the biggest teams in Bulgaria. We ran them close but ultimately they were too good for us.

Player Review - Ismael Del Castillo

image.thumb.png.aee0f43f607a8784221029c5892854ad.png

Del Castillo has been a little underwhelming. Playing mainly on the right he has 3 goals and 2 assists in 16 games.

Goalkeeper Watch

No goals yet as silly me forgot to change the takers! This has been done now!

We were so close to having the perfect season and only a penalty miss by our keeper in the Sozopol game caused us this. Even still it was utter domination!

League Table

image.thumb.png.17bc7c0862acc83fc62055e91d28f88d.png

So nearly perfect but an amazing season!

Bulgarian Cup

image.thumb.png.2d71897dbea7767358670aeb268845f1.png

An unlucky draw against one of the biggest sides in Bulgaria but we gave them a close run!

Player Review - Stefan Kalaydzhiev

image.thumb.png.f5b050178d0c344f8cff3f25fbcc1221.png

Our main man. He scored 39 goals in 35 games this season!

Goalkeeper Watch

Traykov scored 7 and got 3 assists whilst Mishev didn't get off the mark!

100 points, amazing

Yeah I think in these types of leagues its a bit easier as the others don't really strengthen the way I am even though they could easily do so. Dont get me wrong we were one of the favourites for going up but we walked it in the end!

Mid-Season Review

image.thumb.png.62db538dfbfa106a76cc1b275c15e099.png

A very good start to the season with this young developing team. The loans have certainly helped shore us up at the back as well!

League Table

image.thumb.png.cf8286d4bdd2fe0c3ac64f2cf74d0417.png

We sit 2nd halfway through the season. We are very competitive in all games and scoring a bucket load of goals. Maybe this season we can do it.

Bulgarian Cup

image.thumb.png.743c07981e953692e058fa2974069e49.png

We have made it through to the semi finals of the cup were we will face Levski the team who knocked us out last year.

Player Review - Matic Milic

image.thumb.png.678f576c5d57fb0bd1344f99d1d4b082.png

A fabulous signing this season. He has stepped right in and scored 21 goals in 18 starts!

Goalkeeper Watch

Diaz has scored 4 goals and 1 assist this season.

Wow, what an impressive save so far. Are you playing with attributes hidden? If yes, I really wonder how you manage to find such good players with "not so good" scouting staff. If not, my message is useless

Well done, and good luck to complete this challenge!!

Hi, no I dont have attributes hidden so I suppose its a bit easier. In terms of scouting I have found this year that my scouts are finding absolute gems for me and for a change it isn't a lot of my delving into it!

Thanks for reading!

Well, on my side, with semi-pro teams, my scouts find some gems but some awful players too :)

Just the one player moving in the window with none coming in. Evtimov was a young player with some potential but I doubt he would be becoming a first team player in my time here so was sold on. We had no players coming in!

Final Day Of Season

We play Ludogorets in a winner takes all last game of season. Normally most leagues are done by goal difference but this is done by head to head which is currently at 1-1. We avoid defeat and we win the league and complete Bulgaria!

image.thumb.png.8c1f17425312f2b5a7c71efcad11a223.png

Previous Clubs - SCR Altach

I will have a look at some of those clubs I grew close with so far in the save in Altach and Tienen.

SCR Altach

Since I left in 2023 this has been the state of affairs!

image.png.5318f55fecdf6598fe4a9a1232367949.png

Domestically they have not won the title since I have left finishing runner up 6 years in a row! However in the Austrian Cup they have faired better winning another 5 on top of my success in 2023.

Europe

2023-2024 - Dropped down to Euro Cup after finishing 3rd in their CL group. They reached the quarter finals before losing 3-2 on aggregate to Porto.

2024-2025 - Lost in Euro Cup II qualifiers to HNK Gorica

2025-2026 - Knocked out in Euro Cup group stage

2026-2027 - Dropped down to Euro Cup after finishing 3rd in their CL group. Knocked out in the first knockout round losing 6-1 on aggregate to Rangers

2027-2028 - Dropped down to Euro Cup II after finishing 3rd in their Euro Cup group. Lost in 2nd knockout stage to Everton losing 3-1 on aggregate.

2028-2029 - Knocked out in Euro Cup 2nd knockout stage losing 6-2 on aggregate to Monaco.

2029-2030 - Knocked out in CL group stage.

2030-2031 - Knocked out in Euro Cup II quarter finals losing 3-2 to Marseille on aggregate!

Previous Clubs - Tienen

Since I have left in the past 2 seasons Tienen havent managed to win anything additional finishing 5th in the season after I left and 2nd this season! In the cups they reached the 7th round in 2030 and the semi finals in 2031 losing both times to Anderlecht!

Europe

2029-2030 - Knocked out in CL group stage

2030-2031 - Failed to qualify

Former Players - SCR Altach

Here I will look at the former players I brought in during my time at Altach and where some of those bigger names have ended up! Pre-warning this list is pretty darn impressive!

Sergi Juanola

Signed for a free transfer from my favourite side to plunder Damn. He played one season with us before going to Benfica for just over 9m. He left to join Leganes 6 years later where he has really found his place now with 13 goals and 13 assists in his latest season!

Joan

Signed for 18k from Damn as well he was a mainstay at the back for our Altach team. He left in 2026 heading to Juventus for 24m before joining Barcelona in 2029 for 46.5m.  He has won La Liga with Barca as well as 3 Serie A's and Italian Cups with Juve!

Mathijs Dam

Signed for 1.7m as a 16 year old he went on to play with the club until 2028 where he joined Rapid Vienna for 12.75m before moving to Sain-Etienne this season for 2.1m.

Daniel Sousa

The 2 season legend! The man that shot us to League and Cup glory! A free transfer signing he score 91 goals in 2 seasons for us before going Crystal Palace for 8.75m. He scored double figures 3 times in 5 season in the Premier League before joining Strasbourg on a free where he has hit 20 plus goals in each of his 2 seasons!

Wilfired Gnonto

Signed for 375k from Zurich he was a massive hit for us at Altach before joining Roma for 26m before going Juve for 14m. He has won 2 Serie A's since then!

Philipp Greitemann

Signed for only 100k from Bonn he stayed with Altach until 2024 before joining Bayer for 25.5m where he spent 7 seasons before joining Wolfsburg for 15m. No major trophies since his Altach days though!

Isak Bergmann Johannesson

Signed for 2.2m as a player who cover pretty much all positions! Was only at the club for the 2 seasons I was there before joining Spurs for nearly 12m. 4 seasons at Spurs then he joined Barca for a huge 70m! He has won 2 La Liga's and a Spanish cup since then!

Pierre Dwomah

Another huge star from this group of players. Joining from Genk for 900k he spent 4 seasons at Altach before joining Sampdoria for 15m. He spent 4 seasons there then went to Roma for 26.5m!

Giovanni Kastiel

WOW! An absolute superstar. This man joined Altach for 3.3m from Utrecht and spent 3 seasons there before Monchengladbach signed him for 29m. 2 seasons there and he signed for Hertha Berlin for 101m!! (I presume they have had a takeover as they have won the CL and Bundesliga!). He stayed there for 3 seasons before joining Liverpool for 121m! For all his talent his only major trophies are mainly international. Winning the Euro's in 2028 and the Nations League in 2029.

Renato Cesar Sinval

Another superstar. Signed from SPO for 750k he spent 3 seasons at Altach before joining Dortmund for 31.5m. 5 seasons there then he joined City for 87m! Has scored goals throughout his career! Won the Olympics with Brazil, the German Cup with Dortmund and the FA cup with City!

Anderson

Signed from Elche for 800k he spent just 2 seasons with Altach before heading to China and joining Jiangsu for nearly 40m. 3 seasons there he joined Arsenal for 57m where he also spent 3 seasons before joining Real Madrid for 115m! He also won the Olympics in the same team as Sinval. He won the Euro Cup II with Arsenal as well as La Liga with Real Madrid!

Kossi Nyuiadzi

Signed for 475k from St Pauli he spent 4 season with Altach before joining Roma for 38.5m where he has spent the rest of his career since. One Serie A and one Italian Cup to his name!

Alperen Adiyaman

Signed for nearly 1m from Galatasaray he spent 5 seasons at Altach before going to Arsenal for 37m where he has spent the rest of his career so far. He won the Euro Cup II and the Euro Cup whilst there.

Exequiel Suarez

Another superstar here. Signed for a tiny 80k from San Felix he spent 6 seasons with Altach before joining Chelsea for 54m! He has won 3 PL's, 1 Carabao Cup, 1 FA Cup, 2 CL's and a World Cup to become the most successful player from this amazing bunch.

I do love the look of that junior coaching! And there already seem to be a few potential gems in the youth team we can concentrate on!

Not looking great but a lot of wiggle room in the wage budget!

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.263c6b2927e86cfaf88ac061a4adbef9.png

We have been very goods so far with a lot of those dropped points coming during international breaks were we were without 3 or 4 players. We were already favourites to go up with only the reserve teams of the big clubs providing any really challenge thus far.

League Table

image.thumb.png.be7cac1265ebbad0da0b4bcb6587ecc4.png

2 points clear of Dinamo II but with them not allowed to go up and another reserve squad in 3rd we should be comfortably going up this season.

Croatian Cup

image.thumb.png.7edb391433771ed1f3601d2f5ff1cd8c.png

A big win over Belisce before top tier side Lokomotiva knocked us out in a tight game in the 2nd round.

Signed this pre-season for 6k from Glentoran in Northern Ireland. Not huge ability of potential but a solid striker and this has shown. He has 17 goals in 19 games this seasons so far!

Goalkeeper Watch

Svrznjak has 3 goals and 1 assist in 20 games so far!

End Of Season

Another great performance in the 2nd half of the season where we lost just once in the league all season again during an international break!

League Table

We end up 6pts clear of our big challengers Dinamo II.

Croatian Cup

Top tier side Lokomotiva were just too good for us!

Player Review - Viktor Spudic

image.thumb.png.771d3b41dae93e069854263fb1d6fb13.png

One of 3 or 4 good young players we have around the first team. He stepped up and became a rock at the back of the defence. Will be a big player for us! He averaged 7.17 (which is tough for a defender in FM21) scoring 2 goals and grabbing 1 assist.

Player Of The Season - Francisco Moura

image.thumb.png.f5b0dc2887745989af6c54714f1f85c7.png

A bit of pace and a bit of dribbling sometimes is all you need at this level. He was fantastic this season scoring 14 goals and getting 6 assists from the wing!

Young Player Of The Season - Enzo Jimenez

image.thumb.png.5ad7ebfc4cff965fe4a21b81c81ab924.png

Our Argentinian left back had a great breakthrough season scoring once and grabbing 8 assists from full back. He averaged 7.26 which is great! Love the mentals on him!

Goalkeeper Watch

Svrznjak reached double figures grabbing 10 goals and getting 1 assist!

Finances

We have no money to spend next season so will have to be quick in getting free transfers in or loan signings!

Two Jobs?

image.thumb.png.59a18acb54b4f1831bd08669a6b26496.png

I have decided to step into the international scene as well now to see if I can do anything exciting. I have decided to take up the Wales job for now although did get offered Ukraine and Greece as well!

Current Squad

image.thumb.png.97b1ca1417ba0a7af7e2ae90282c977f.png

Some very good players in here but an average enough squad. Will need time to look through the national pool to see if there are any players coming through that could be useful.

Key Players

Harry Duffy

An absolute beast and our best players. Currently playing for Barca he will be vital for any potential success we have.

Neco Williams

One of the few players that actually started the game. He is sill at Liverpool and will be vital for us.

John Warlow

For those of you that know I do love a winger. Pace and dribbling is great here so he could become very useful.

Nickie Ryan

Finally a player that can seemingly play everywhere although I will probably utilise him at left back which means 3 of our 4 key players are defenders!

Current State Of Play

There has been no World Cup qualifier draw yet but we did make the last Euros but dropped out in the group stage. Nations league draw is as follows:

image.thumb.png.d2270e85dd0d10455bdc3cf576d25d13.png

Tough enough draw. Will be interesting to see where we sit against these teams.

First International Game

image.thumb.png.6af586f535a64582161ebfa659a0014e.png

I fined the defence for not keeping a clean sheet. In all seriousness though a great way to make my International bow! We only really have one good striker (Taylor-Hill) so might have to use a few prospects soon as we are playing a winger up top with him currently!

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.a5b41172a9b04ca81137d97d731e3753.png

An up and down season so far but considering we had no money to spend we did very well with free transfers and loans! I did go back to raid some American youngsters again!

League Table

image.png.baaa39814e9382fd8512cb728e6ffb51.png

We sit 4th but Dinamo are so far ahead in terms of quality but we manage to sit within the European spots but have played a game more than all other teams.

Croatian Cup

image.thumb.png.db70443121e7f4ac7b875c852d5294a8.png

We have had a very kind draw thus far and havent played a top tier side yet. Still to find out our semi final opponents!

Player Review - Adam Fisher

image.thumb.png.24bb9ffec5cf34ffb996b8b6ad743ae5.png

One of the free transfer American players I signed and probably the best of the lot. Playing just behind the strikers he is developing really well. 2 goals and 4 assists this season but is development has been very good.

Goalkeeper Watch

Paradiz has 4 goals in 23 games!

Youth Intake Preview

Nations League

Results

image.thumb.png.cb1163bc66cd255b776eba383a6cc6a5.png

We were a step above here really. Mohamed being the standout player. We also called up a young 17 year old Chelsea striker in Swindell who grabbed his first goal for his country!

League Table

image.thumb.png.f9a9fe636b9888670c0c4df5a4e8c716.png

We comfortably finish top and will be playing with the big boys next time!
