I am in the knockout stages of the CL however... i dont have the option to use that clause which is odd as all the other clauses work just fine for me. With continental min fee release clauses, these clauses can only be triggered if the players current club aren't playing in a continental competition themselves. Could it have been the case that the players club are no longer playing in a continental comp which has then allowed you to activate the clause?
