Recommended Posts

This is my Korean database expansion for FM21. This is a follow on from my FM20 database.
All transfers updated to December 25th 2020. Tested for 18 seasons.

List of changes are as follows:-

  • Correct promoted and relegated teams in K League 1 and K League 2
  • All correct teams added to K3 and K4 League
  • Yeoju Citizen and Icheon Citizen are now marked as extinct
  • Added Geoje Citizen FC, Dangjin FC and Pyeongchang FC to the KL4 (Pyeongchang is temporary until official team is announced)
  • All 11 divisions for the K5 League have been added for FA Cup compatibility. Added the K5 championship too. (No promotion from K5 to K4)
  • All 31 K6 division are added with correct teams and leagues (as of September 2020)
  • Fixed FA Cup format for the 2020 seasons - https://www.kfa.or.kr/layer_popup/popup_live.php?act=news_tv_detail&idx=22246&div_code=news&check_url=bGF5ZXI=&lang=KOR
  • Added the new ASEAN foreign player quota to the leagues
  • All squads in K League and K League 2 fixed
  • Hundred of players created and added to the database for the teams in K3 and K4 that didn't have correct players
  • 'Sangju Sangmu' changed to 'Gimcheon Sangmu'
  • Corrected some stadium names and capacity issues
  • **Added all K5 kit colours**
  • Corrected managers at all clubs from K1-K4
  • Changed discipline rules for yellow cards for 2020. Changed one match bans to 5 yellows, then 8, then 10
  • Corrected the new minimum wage rules for K1 and K2 (from ₩20 million a year to ₩24 million)
  • Tweaked dozens of other things that I have forgot about

RECOMMENDED SETTING

Due to this being the 2021 season layout, you should start your season in Early Pre-Season January 2021 when setting up the database.
I also recommend  ticking the 'Add players to playable teams', as this will fill the K5 and K6 teams with players. I have created and added full rosters to every team from K1 to K4
I have holidayed until the year 2045 without issues and everything seems to run fine.
If I have missed anything in the database, comment or contact me here and I will fix it as soon as I can.

THERE WILL BE UPDATES. IF YOU SPOT A MAJOR BUG, TELL ME.

My next update should include the K7 and a promotion system between K6 and K7

TO INSTALL

Move the .fmf file to C:/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2021/editor data

'Korea21-K1toK6-v2-25122020--Fantasy' is the fantasy version. This has promotion between K2 and K3. This is probably the file you will want to use.

'Korea21-K1toK6-v2-25122020--Realistic' is the real system. This has NO PROMOTION between K2 and K3.

ONLY USE 1 FILE!!

Sounds awesome. I will start a new save with this tomorrow!

Does it happen to include the National Sports Festival for K3 and K4 teams?

Nope. Didn't see much point in adding it as I can't find much info on it. Could you link me some info on the K3 and K4 participation? I know it didn't happen last year, but that was due to Covid.

The site is in Korean and uses Javascript so it's hard to get proper urls but here's the list of all results: https://national.sports.or.kr/scheduleall.do?kind=indexScheduleAll&gubun=06

If you click on 축구 then go to the 남자일반부 section, you can click on any match to see the teams that participated. When I have a few minutes later I will post the 2019 participants. I went to the matches a few years ago in Incheon. Each region is represented by a (at that time) National League or Challengers League team and in some regions they had qualifying matches. Now that Incheon has Namdong United, my best guess is that the 2021 tournament (in Gimhae -- though the men's soccer may be held at a better stadium in Gyeongbuk -- my guess is the Steelyard) will feature 13 teams.

Edit: Sorry Gumi, not Gimhae.

I remember reading about this tournament after the establishment of the K3 and K4. They mentioned not participating in it anymore and the Uni teams would take their spot. Although I can't find any info on that, I will have to dig further.

And yeah, that site doesn't load for me at all, even behind my Korean VPN.

According to this, next year there will still be separate competitions for men's high school, university, and senior men's (as in the past, when the semi-pro teams played in the senior men's division). If you can confirm that K3 and K4 don't plan to participate, please let me know:
