(FM21) FMGrandTourer's Alphabet Challenge

FM21 has been tough for me so far, I've flitted between saves but now I feel I've got an idea that really takes my fancy.

I've seen others over numerous versions try "The Alphabet Challenge". I love these kind of saves, moving countries and continents every few seasons so I feel this is perfect for me.

What is the Alphabet Challenge?

The main aim is, starting with the "A" nations you attempt to win the top division and the main cup (or one of the main cups is more than one) in each nation. Once "A" is complete you move to "B" and so on and so on. 

To make it even harder you have to start unemployed with no coaching badges and Sunday league reputation.

So 52 nations to work through, this may take a while!

The save starts with only the "A" nations loaded, these are....

• Argentina
• Australia
• Austria

I can take any job in either of these nations, aim to win the top league and cup then move on to the next one, once these are done I move onto the next letter.

First job. Austria it is

Some interesting club visions there, "sign players from domestic rivals" and "sign players from lower leagues"

Current league table doesn't look good, we in the relegation places with 10 games to go

A week in and I've had my youth intake. It looks OK.

2020/21 - Austria - SKU Amstetten - End of Season Update

We did it! With a game to spare we secured safety.

It didn't start great but once the lads got used to the tactic and the style of play they pushed on well and did a good job.

As you can see the main issue is goal-scoring, something I need to improve on next season.

The Best XI is interesting, not a single player averaging over 7. It also lines up as a 4231, I went with a 433 with a long striker and an IF/IW either side. It worked really well overall.

Player of the Season was Sunday Faleye, the on-loan Winger did really well, we won't be seeing him next season though. He also ends with the most goals at the club (7)

Most assists was by Dino Kovacec, a massive 4 assists. Unfortunately he will be leaving as he agreed a pre-contract deal with Hadjuk Split

Lots of hard work ahead. Quite a few players leaving but this gives me scope to improve the team to how I want it. The board have been generous and given me £2.9m to spend. Goalscorers are much needed

2021/22 Pre-Season Update

Lot's of movement transfer wise. We lost 12 players who turned down a new contract and were left with 15 senior players.

So there are a load of in's to bulk the squad out. 

13 in all. I won't go through every one of them but here are the players I'm excited by.

I'm really excited for what the season ahead. The squad now look really good. I'm going with a 442 direct counter attacking but have a 433 in back-up just in case.

In the league we are expected to end mid-table and that is what the board expect as well. Only the top team goes up into the Bundesliga.
