Youth Intake 2027 - The Players

Just showing you the big 4 here! Down the line I will show you others:

image.thumb.png.f54f0d65997eaedfdf5a81791e310498.png

Really needed a player like this. The wing and striker we didn't have much cover. Could be the player to replace Heaton!

image.thumb.png.5d00d06cfb7a757a5ba7437171ffdeff.png

Another big keeper prospect! He will develop first in the u23's!

image.thumb.png.0dc2b77e7791c38fecf890907459da63.png

Oh I like the look of him. Possible striker here as well as a really nice AMC!

image.thumb.png.96f95b0fcfdf83304047e108851ca4bf.png

Another good winger prospect which we need!

Survival was the aim and as long as we could string 1 or 2 wins each month it was going to be comfortable enough for us. A very good run in March confirmed we would be playing League 1 football again next season.

League Table

image.thumb.png.23a364ea0bfbd7a9a87841e4a7f51f73.png

We were actually up in 11th before the defeat on the last day. However 15th place is great for a team predicted rock bottom!

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.2a1f7b262b660e269773d87cc818cc74.png

A nice little run to the 4th round where we got a massive tie at home to Chelsea. We gave them a good game but their quality told.

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.d8b563db75c0c757fbd5341e09006912.png

Out in the first round with a backup team!

Papa Johns Trophy

image.thumb.png.0dc84d5c7a3e22f6a8427d784c0c3edb.png

For the first team our reserves couldn't get out of the group stage losing all 3 games to the same scoreline!

Player Review - Tyler Clisby (YP26L)

image.thumb.png.e5bec7a3a6ac7201c078ebf492f72916.png

Clisby surprised me this season. Only really brought into the first team squad as backup. His CA started to shoot up and he ended up getting quite a lot of games and a fantastic 8 assists to hiss name.

Goalkeeper Watch

Holmes ended up with 6 goals and 2 assists whilst De Leon ended up with 2 goals and 1 assist!

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.b48421bb4c5b7a7d0b0d43dfebcceada.png

By far our best year of development. 12 players in total getting double figures in CA development. Those down towards the bottom end and lower development are mainly those who are near their top end PA. All and all a fantastic year for us. Stewart may be difficult to keep if the board go over my head. 56 goals in 47 games is outstanding. Add to that an additional 17 assists! McKenzie had a fantastic first season as well with 29 goals and 16 assists! Haavisto hit double figures in goals and assists!

Overview

image.thumb.png.6b2e16ae81221a80b1cf966af0208e90.png

Good improvement here. Our average attendance is up around 800 people. We have hit the maximum for junior coaching and youth recruitment! Our youth facilities have been improved and are about to be improved again!

Squad Overview

Transfers

image.png.826d17567e9dc9bf8f146d05fbb931af.png

4 players went on loan to gain more regular first team football

Squad

image.thumb.png.bd1b3f5376b860c0081e58dc066b7ca3.png

The squad is definitely developing nicely now with only 4 players in the whole first team under 2 star CA. It is a far cry from a few seasons back where 2/3's of the squad wasn't! 3 players are receiving quite a few offers in Kouame who has had offers of up to 2.5m, McIlroy who is starting to hit 7 figure offers and our main man Stewart who's highest bid has been 5.5m so far. Thankfully the board havent jumped in yet!

This is our first poached player. Doesn't look like he will be anything special but I will keep an eye out!

Mid Season Review

image.thumb.png.b1c5a33369b55f9d1a6d922fe29fd948.png

image.thumb.png.aca8e237a4ef25b8d8703de67ce8d544.pngWe have had a great season with a consistent team. The players are all developing into good players for this level and playing together for a few years seems to have helped cohesion!

League Table

image.thumb.png.b3f7b154f2405b6a7dad354bc19dd58c.png

We are 6pts clear at the top but I think probably only 2 or 3 key injuries away from a potential fall.

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.b82a1343c087052e64a149bce04ee4b5.png

Into the 3rd round were we were able to get a draw against Premier League Newcastle. I have since played the replay were we were hammered 7-1!

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.5a0c3b2cefd42e0a9fb0b5f451c07114.png

Another defeat to a Premier League club in the other major cup competition. This time it was West Ham comfortably beating us.

Papa Johns Trophy

image.thumb.png.54c9891473cc4ab77107295584506395.png

The reserves were played again mainly. And we finished 3rd in the table and didn't qualify!

Player Review - Solomon McKenzie (YP26A)

image.thumb.png.93e5b46f880a54e1bb0656f45c5e2299.png

His development has been insane. He is a great player for us and 17 goals and 13 assists in 27 games shows how important he is becoming!

Goalkeeper Watch

Holmes has 4 goals this season whilst De Leon is yet to get off the mark!

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.fe623cd3213d72a2a7ab9de7404993de.pngSolid development here again with 3 players already at double figures. Next season both Holmes and Stewart will be graduating from being labelled a "youth player". Gregg from last seasons intake has slotted in nicely with 9 goals and 6 assists already!

Youth Intake 2028 - The Overview

image.thumb.png.ce8aef147be99661f2b5dd7d81666ff3.png

Again a great looking intake. A very good prospect centre back is exactly what we needed. It is probably the only spot where we don't have a big prospect! We also cant be far off from fielding a team of great prospect goalkeepers..... Now lets look at PA vs PPA....

image.thumb.png.25b43ac14dc777559b992a8251714d19.png

Another great intake in terms of PA. Hazel looks like he could be an absolute smasher and is already first team ready and will get games now to aid development. Hegarty I will try and find a loan for when he turns pro. We have 3 or 4 keepers already ahead of him in terms of development. A couple of wingbacks and a winger is always nice. If we could get one more striker next season I think we will have pretty much close to 2 decent player per position!

Youth Intake 2028 - The Players

YP28A - Hayden Hazel

Huge prospect here who will go straight into the first team. If we dont start progressing then it will be tough to keep him here after a few years!

YP28B - Josh Hegarty

Another great prospect in nets. We have 2 very good goalkeepers in the first team currently so will let him develop along with the other prospect goalkeepers in the youth teams before a potential loan move.

YP28C - Luke Smith

Smith I like the look off. Full back is not an area we have massive cover in so he could definitely be part of the first team soon

YP28D - Sam MacDonald

An area were we needed a big prospect. He comes in and will be brought up to the first team right away. Could become a big player for us.

YP28E - Sunday Adeleye

As mentioned with Smith full back is an are we needed cover. Not quite as good as Smith but definitely some very good potential there!

YP28F - Daryl Busumbru

Not 100% sure how to utilise him yet whether it is at centre back or the deep lying midfield role. Will develop in the younger teams

YP28G - Ronan O'Leary

O'Leary is more the type of centre half I would be looking. Good become a solid first team squad player in the future!

YP28H - Tre Goodridge

Goodridge technically is very poor. Not first team ready yet but will see how he develops!

YP28I - Ramon Primus

Primus has an amazing name! Could be utilised out on the wing later down the line but needs development first.

YP28J - Lawrence Osei

Osei is mentally very good and could become a good squad team player to have as he covers some positions

YP28K - Jordan Watt

Watt could be handy out on the wing. Already has solid stats for it. I may have to have a rethink about my current first team wingers soon!

YP28L - Liam Warrilow

Warrilow could come in handy at full back as we dont have much outside of Kouame for left back!

YP28M - Hayden Milton

Milton the coaches really seemed to like. Doesn't quite have the potential they originally thought but I do think he could still be useful!

End Of Season

Results

image.thumb.png.9f2baa775c965806c3a397af50977558.png

Another very good half of a season. The great thing about us this season is that when we lost a game we never let it get us down and bounced back immediately. We never lost more than 1 game in a row in the 2nd half of this season which in the end was vital!

League Table

image.thumb.png.73beea3b28cfbfa9dd605128439d4449.png

Promotion was confirmed with 4 or 5 to play but the Championship only came when the final whistle went at the end of the 46th game! Amazing season

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.e006e765631325e08f8465606ba34b8c.png

Another decent run here and a replay against a Premier League club. In the end they battered us!

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.0d6b251d66e8059b4467ef24b8130388.png

West Ham were simply too good for us.

Papa Johns Trophy

image.thumb.png.4a1a28fb15dd3dcea133f14ae95785af.png

For the 2nd year in a row the reserves failed to get out of the group stage!

Player Review - Stephen Taylor (YP26D)

image.thumb.png.83eb11b72ebd01901c094f0f5659b01b.png

When he first joined from the intake I immediately started training him at right back as we were short and I think his stats perfectly suited it. Since then his development has been fantastic and his one of the first names on the team sheet currently. In 2 seasons he has over 30 assists from right back!

Goalkeeper Watch

Holmes got 5 goals this season and De Leon got 1 goal!

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.328410f13e3383bdebf45369de838451.png

I wont go into this in too much detail as I will do a squad review before next season starts! I will be rejigging the squad and some of these players will probably be moved on!

Overview

image.thumb.png.150a608327ec312e30de94903579f629.png

Nice to see the average attendance increase again and because of the finances due to the youth facilities upgrade we couldn't get anything more. It might get to the point soon that we may have to accept a big offer for one of our stars unless the money in the championship can change that!

Squad Potential

The potential level of ability of the squad is as follows:

Using the rough guide below I will then put our players into where they fall potentially. To do this I will take their top PA and put them in the highest category they fall into. Please be aware these are the players currently in our first team. We have 3 potential first team players out on loan who fall into the League 1 potential area!

PREMIER LEAGUE
Good Player - 140-149

Hayden Hazel (YP28A)

Matthew Gregg (YP27A)

CHAMPIONSHIP
Star - 130-135

Josh Hegarty (YP28B)

James Wilson (YP27B)

Luke Smith (YP28C)

Michael McIlroy (YP25A)

Sam MacDonald (YP28D)

Lynden Hodges (YP27C)

Good - 120-129

Sunday Adeleye (YP28E)

Solomon McKenzie (YP26A)

Brayan De Leon (YP25B)

Esko Haavisto (YP26B)

Kevin Stewart (YP24B)
Decent - 115-119

Mark Holmes (YP22A)

Herve Kouame (YP23A)

LEAGUE 1
Star - 110-115

Stephen Taylor (YP26D)

Good - 100-109

Daryl Busumbru (YP28F)

Gus Jones (YP25C)

Decent - 95-99

Saad Eida (YP25D)

Harry Stewart (YP22C)

Ronan O'Leary (YP28G)

Trevor Moyo (YP23B)

LEAGUE 2
Star - 90-95

Kieran Starkey (YP25E)

Good - 80-89

Kian Barrett (YP25I)

Tyler Clisby (YP26L)

So looking at this potential above (some of you may have more up to date statistics on what qualifies the above. People like @Jimbokav1971 and @_Ben_ who tend to go into quite a bit of detail into things although not sure if they have looked at the PA side) and breaking this into position this leaves us with:

Goalkeeper

2x Star Championship Potential Players

1x Good Championship Potential Player

1x Decent Championship Potential Player

In terms of keepers we really do need to stop getting them through! We are covered here for some time

Right Back

1x Star Championship Potential Player

1x Good Championship Potential Player

1x Star League 1 Player

1x Star League 2 Player

In terms of potential we are OK here for the future also although both of our big prospects are young and dont have much current ability

Left Back

1x Decent Championship Potential Player

1x Good League 2 Potential Player

An area we badly need someone to come through. Tempted to retrain one of the big prospect right backs into a left back as we are badly short.

Centre Back

1x Good Premier League Potential Player

2x Good League 1 Potential Player

3x Decent League 1 Potential Player

We had Hazel come through in the last intake which was massive for us. What we need this time is another one to come through and partner him!

Def. Midfield

1x Star Championship Potential Player

We are badly short here as the only other player outside of McIlroy who plays here is our starting left back!

Right Midfield

1x Good Premier League Potential Player

1x Good League 2 Potential Player

I think we could do with another big prospect winger on both sides.

Left Midfield

1x Star Championship Potential Player

1x Decent League 1 Potential Player

As stated above an area we definitely need more players to come through

Att. Midfield

1x Star Championship Potential Player

1x Good Championship Potential Player

We are fine here for now with 2 young and good prospects!

Strikers

2x Good Championship Players

Another area we really need depth in. We have 2 others who can play up top but are currently being used in other positions

Whats Required?

In order I would probably go with:

1) Centre Back

2) Left Back

3) Left/Right Midfielder

4) Def. Midfielder

5) Striker Cover!

I know that is a very long post but in doing it it has actually helped me in terms of where we currently stand!

I, personally (and have no data as I don't know the PA of my own players) say that you're being too strict on this. With the right attribute balance, a player with a PA of 120, that he reaches, could be a good Prem player and players with met PAs of 150 could be good enough for international level.

Getting the balance of attributes right means you can make a player go much further than his PA (which, by then is CA) would suggest. This is why, as human managers, we can often ship out good-performing players for big money to then watch them rot. Their CA/PA is low but we've been able to 'make the most of it.'

Thanks for the response! I think this is true. I am getting quite big offers for my main striker who doesn't have a very high PA but is scoring a lot of goals. Valued at under 1m and getting offers of around 6m for him

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.a76e4b5f369e72b2ff99f37b7ae1db00.png

image.thumb.png.aaa8ff0b9c42bb9c66c4262dcd6d231d.png

Again we are the entertainers! Some big loses and some big wins but normally all high scoring games! Great season for us so far with our fairly limited current ability.

League Table

image.thumb.png.83e4e80484d8385339dd83d8d69d460f.png

The 3 teams at the bottom have made it relatively easy for us to be well clear of the relegation spots. Rotating the team and getting game time to all players now because of this!

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.760fc852d447b5f2e6e61376e8d60738.png

We thumped 10 man Derby in the 3rd round and have a chance to reach the 5th round as we face a Reading team 5 places below us in the league. With our finances dwindling (and quickly) we could do with a decent run in this competition.

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.3f7ac3be7ce4c620ca25a115a6549ba8.png

We did well to reach the 3rd round with our mainly backup players bit Leicester were just one step too far.

Player Review - Sam MacDonald (YP28D)

image.thumb.png.2d45e623c2e7e9ed2e04b2324a1aa6e1.png

One of our big prospects from the last intake he has been given a lot of game time this season. 15 games with 2 goals and 5 assists.

Goalkeeper Watch

For the first time in the save I have 3 keepers in my first team. Holmes (YP22A), De Leon (YP25B) and Wilson (YP27B) are all in the first team and all getting games. Holmes has 3 goals and 1 assist in 11 games, De Leon has 1 goal in 5 games and Wilson has 5 goals and 1 assist in 12 games

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.719a9b55315c6cc4829c0ab8589b13d5.png

Youth Graduates

As some of you may know as players hit 22/23 then I will remove them from my youth spreadsheet as they are technically no longer youth. The 2 graduates so far are Holmes (YP22A) and Stewart (YP22C).

image.thumb.png.d8d3f13f41f9a6fe71a83a59ca040b61.png

Holmes has been our starting keeper for much of this save being our main number one for the last 6 seasons before starting to share more game time with the other big prospect keepers. He came through as we were in the Vanarama National League. As a keeper he has scored 45 goals for the club!

image.thumb.png.65cca39c85efbff73cac4c4560306dc9.png

Stewart was one of the first big prospects to come through. He came in the same intake as Holmes above and has been a big player for us ever since. Starting to struggle now he is in the Championship but still one of our main centre backs. He has 30 goals and amazingly 30 assists for the club. At 6 foot 6 he is a big target for set pieces.

FA Cup 5th Round

image.thumb.png.fcf35058ced333d7afe5c48bd902c255.png

What a performance from our young team. To bring Utd to penalties is a fantastic achievement especially away at Old Trafford. Unfortunately the nerves got the better of our penalty takers! We made over 1m alone from this game!

Youth Intake 2029 - The Overview

image.thumb.png.3c751c0f6640842f888d56d1de5f57d9.png

Another solid intake here and a couple of positions we needed to get in plus our normal good keeper prospect. Lets look at PA vs PPA...

image.thumb.png.1774c733d58d6ad6f84c94dbc0afffe9.png

Again some really good potential here. This is the first intake were I have only signed players with a PA of over 100 which is a nice turning point.

Youth Intake 2029 - The Players

Here below are the players from the intake!

YP29A - Harri Hay

This is a position we needed a player in. With McIlroy being our main DM and backup Kouame currently filling in at left back then Hay could come in handy.

YP29B - Emmerson Odle

Another good prospect here. Can cover across the front. Not quite sure where to use him yet but good potential.

YP29C - Barry Miller

I really like the look of Miller. In terms of current ability he is the best of this intake and can come in handy right away!

YP29D - Daniele Nussbaum

Technically a bit short but good mentals and physicals. Will see how he develops!

YP29E - Zidkigah Chandler

Not sure about Chandler but has decent PA so will let him develop in the youth teams for a while first!

YP29F - Antonis Michail

Our yearly keeper prospect. He might find it difficult making it here due to the number of other keeper prospects here.

YP29G - Adam Butterworth

Our last intake blessed us with 2 good full back prospects. Butterworth isn't at that level but could develop nicely.

YP29H - Junior Barnett

Isn't near the first team yet but if he develops to the full potential he could definitely be a part of our first team.

YP29I - Adam Sproule

Good finishing and pace is always nice to start with. We do need some backup at striker level so he could come in handy

YP29J - Patrick Reid

Another solid MC prospect. Not quite at the levels of the others but a good prospect none the less

End Of Season

Results

image.thumb.png.0fc6aab5eddf9f4bfefe19d2831c379a.png

A very good season for us. Some big loses but as per usual goals goals goals! Great way to end the season with a thumping of 2nd placed Derby!

League Table

image.thumb.png.99f3d284e05ea88e800ef3b25ee646c9.png

15th place is a great first season at this level for us!

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.116b1d6b95d12c122a8b19b8be12af66.png

A good run ended up in the 5th round in a penalty defeat at Old Trafford

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.865dec8a45140cf015c9400fa55ef5c1.png

Leicester were just too good for us!

Player Review - Sunday Adeleye (YP28E)

image.thumb.png.df55cab76cea551ca7eb17b47897bda6.png

33 CA development points and quite a lot of game time for Sunday. He has performed really well and hope this development continues this season. 5 assists already!

Goalkeeper Watch

Holmes ended up with 3 goals and 1 assist in 21 games. De Leon scored 2 goals in 10 games and Wilson scored a fantastic 7 goals and 1 assist in 22 games.

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.752c9d2ff09a9547e96b5601f0e0e898.png

More great development here. I think some of these players may be sold next season and others loaned out.

A load of players have went out on loan. Some have the potential to be in the first team in the future and have even played some first team games. Marriott, De Leon, O'Leary, Smith and Belezika have all had games in the first team. The others are young players who have went out for first team experience. We sold 2 players both of whom where wingers. Eida was limited in his potential despite getting a lot of game time last season. We got nearly 200k for him. Our biggest sale was Barrett for 1.2m. This is a great bit of money for us with another player again with limited potential.

Youth Improvement

image.thumb.png.0a43f06a92b69debd3b1726bdbf83ebb.png

After no improvements in youth or training facilities last year we have managed to get the board to agree a youth improvement this time with the sale of Barrett and the Championship TV money coming in!

Mid Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.31ba0d3858c36789678ab2694bde3fd0.png

Having cut the squad down slightly I am rotating less which has shown in our results. Each season our team develops and our star players are starting to do some real damage.

League Table

image.thumb.png.cf5092396c9fbedc19901eddc4d70c3a.png

Before the start of the season I would have snatched you hand off for a play off spot. I dont think we are as good as the top 2 but if we could nick a playoff spot it would be a great season!

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.6d38c17c0c3c5c1355eb6fae9aa454a5.png

The backups outscored Plymouth in a cracker before our old foes QPR knocked them out in the 2nd round.

Player Review - Lyndon Hodges (YP27C)

image.thumb.png.25085e8d7de310fefb9156dac280d6ed.png

Hodges has been progressing really well. He has been utilised wide and up top and has 5 goals and 9 assists in 14 starts and 9 sub appearances!

Goalkeeper Watch

Wilson has 1 goal in 22 games whilst Holmes has 0 goals in 5 games.

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.a63bc30591dd77abd5af76874e63644d.png

More solid development and we have 6 players already into double figures in CA development. Nice to see our number of 100 CA and above grow again as we now have  10 players over that threshold. McKenzie is a machine at this level.

Youth Graduates

As with the previous season I tend to graduate anyone from our youth review who is 22 or older. We have 2 who will come to an end this season in Kouame and Moyo.

image.thumb.png.107b76124c5d9f265c75dcd2005e0d63.png

This is Kouame's 8th season with us and he is only 23. Started as our main holding player before a shortage at full back meant he was retrained as a left back. 5 under 20 caps for Ivory Coast and in total has 14 goals and 51 assists for us!

image.thumb.png.1435803935d31453ed7b609d7a3b8bc4.png

Moyo is our main versatility man at the back. Unfortunately isnt really cut out for this level but because of our lack of depth in defence still is useful around the first team. Also in his 8th season he has 14 goals and 34 assists for the club.

FA Cup 4th Round

image.thumb.png.7c7e285cfc7429f05ee8d2c454244636.png

They thumped us 7-1 the last time we played so this is nice! A replay and more money is nice!

FA Cup 4th Round Replay

image.thumb.png.0bfe9bc788bced6c64d4c305a4e30e1b.png

What a win. Really shows how far we have come since we played them a couple of seasons back. Whilst they were slightly the better team we more than held our own. A home tie against Spurs is up next!

FA Cup 5th Round

image.thumb.png.b430cda5eb1a6ca748b72b13b8a66cfd.png

We were completed battered for most of this game but our strikers turned up and were clinical. The biggest win of the clubs career and we have reached the quarter finals of the FA Cup! We have a very winnable tie at home to Nottingham Forest who are 2 places below us in the Championship!

Youth Intake 2030 - The Overview

image.thumb.png.8124ff6a00fe514ac594fa2869f91b23.png

As expected with the increase in our overall PA the intakes would start to see a noticeable drop off. We only signed 6 players this time. Again off course we get a GK....

image.thumb.png.22484d1f6971fb979e4b450891396514.png

3 big prospects here. Unfortunately one is a goalkeeper although I may have to sell one of our first team goalkeepers this season due to him complaining about game time so he may come in handy. The best news I have is the big prospect left back looks like he can play centre back which is an area we have badly needed!

Youth Intake 2030 - The Players

YP30A - Glody Kasongo

I like the look of Kasongo has a striker rather than midfielder. Decent finishing and heading as well as good positioning and anticipation! Will be called up to the first team!

YP30B - Gareth Denham

Our big prospect full back who I will be using as a centre back. He has all the right stats (apart from being small) to be a very good centre back for us! Will be getting game time right away and will probably spell the end of Trever Moyo at the club!

YP30C - Alhassane Owolabi

Dont think I have ever had a player from Niger. With Holmes starting to kick off about game time he could get some first tea exposure in a few years. We currently have 6 goalkeepers with 115 PA and above which is mental.

YP30D - Nicholas Beckford

Another full back which is nice to see as we were struggling there prior. Isn't first team ready yet but can develop into a first team player!

YP30E - Young Nyondo

Good pace, dribbling and passing is always a good start for a potential winger. Not ready yet but could definitely be a backup winger in the future!

YP30F - Jack Walker

Not first team ready and not sure if he ever will be but the coaches like him so will see how he develops!

FA Cup Quarter Final

image.thumb.png.e6e7a29a1f457af17eed928cb3a63df6.png

We were by far the better team but it wasn't until the 85th minute that we managed to find an equaliser before holding our nerve to win a penalty shootout that sends us into the semi final of the FA Cup. In the semi final we play Everton which is the best possible draw for us. The other semi final is Chelsea vs Man Utd.

FA Cup Semi Final

image.thumb.png.a2241e924bbc22f5b1a65ee613ef86a6.png

What a performance from the lads. We fell a goal down quite early but we never let that bother us. 2 goals from left winger MacDonald means we are in our first ever major final. As a championship club it is a great achievement! We will face Man Utd in the final!

Playoff Semi Finals

image.thumb.png.247446b0e08c2ad2d0f4c3727dbd8ffe.png

Goals goals goal as we beat QPR in the Play Off Semi Finals 10-6 on aggregate. An amazing couple of matches. We played them on the last day of the season and beat them 5-2 away from home as well!

Playoff Final

image.thumb.png.fc667b636cd82772fb76d583c14e19e1.png

We are heading to the Premier League. Our main man McKenzie scored a double after we fell behind. He ended up with a ridiculous 48 goals in the league this season! A fantastic end to the season.

We did well to keep it competitive. But any victory here would have been a massive upset. Did wonders for the bank balance though!

image.thumb.png.c49aa6e20285e96a641a894c893d5d98.png

We were patchy at times but we made the playoffs due to the unpredictable nature of the Championship. We went on to win the playoffs and get promoted!

League Table

We have made the promised land. Give me that money so I can sort the rest of the facilities out!

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.f4fbfa8b004e8a017c9f689b03c9fbc9.png

A mental run to the final were we beat 3 premier league teams. We lost as expected to Utd but the finances have helped big time!

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.86db08b75c6e517b5fcdb0c001782c49.png

Unlike the FA Cup we havent really ever managed to put a run together here. QPR have probably been our biggest rivals in game so far!

Player Review - Sam MacDonald (YP28D)

image.thumb.png.2db6825c46b988501de9c138daf5450e.png

This man has been a machine this season and scored the 2 goals that got us to the FA Cup final.

Goalkeeper Watch

Wilson scored 4 goals in 40 games and Holmes scored 1 goal in 18 games!

A new stadium which is awfully named! But we badly needed it as we were hamstrung bu the current capacity. Still a small stadium but a big help. We move to Craven Cottage until its ready.

Transfers

image.png.cc50085cd9be60392f7d959c3c56586c.png

The usual loan outs and one big sale. Holmes was out starting goalkeeper for the best part of 7 seasons but we have others coming through with better potential and he was kicking off about game time. Nearly 6m is a fantastic deal for us. We also got offered 25m from Man City for our new number 1 in Wilson!

Youth Intake Preview

image.png.26bf6dc54e3718c9ab423b0a0488aca7.png

A full back would be great. It is an area we are short on. Another good striker would have been nice but doesn't look likely! Golden generation though!

Mid-Season Review

Results

image.thumb.png.86846747b89a7d42af57cb02b1c58048.png

This season is basically about being better than 3 other teams and that is it. We will more than likely get the record for most goals conceded but we are picking up valuable wins here and there.

League Table

image.thumb.png.2c14413d45b9bd1f5c926d69778200d2.png

We are currently better than 4 teams and if it stays that way I will be delighted. We can be a threat at home but we have quite a small squad so injuries and suspensions can take its toll. Trying to target the matches we can "win" whilst giving the backup players some game time against the bigger boys to help with fitness.

FA Cup

image.thumb.png.f70b85be4da28a7913022ba850a5e8b8.png

No games yet but a nice easy first fixture in the 3rd round (I hope)

Carabao Cup

image.thumb.png.c9007074610d96f53f9ce14dcd01cc50.png

I played the backup players up until the City game at which point I seen there line up and thought we might just be able to sneak European football by winning this cup. We beat them quite luckily 2-1 and have a nice fixture in the semi finals. The other semi final is West Ham and Arsenal.

Player Review - James Wilson (YP27B)

image.thumb.png.054e845a7a993e512d994ff824cae7d9.png

Values at £12.5 now and was subject to a £25m bid from Man City in the summer. He is our number 1 keeper and has still quite a bit of development to go. Has 12 goals for the club as well!

Goalkeeper Watch

Wilson has 1 goal in 17 games whereas new backup goalkeeper Hegarty is yet to get off the mark after 6 games.

Youth Review

image.thumb.png.96203844045f57a015fa3b15034ae0a1.png

More solid progress here. some of those down near the bottom are very close to their PA so wont be much additional progression. In terms of standout performers this year McKenzie has stepped up to the Premier League well and has 11 goals in 18 games for a struggling team. Miller has done fantastically well with 8 assists in only 7 starts and 10 sub appearances!

Youth Graduate

image.thumb.png.cf16ef43d83b8dbb7c4947a260aca0c6.png

Was our main man until McKenzie joined him as part of the deadly duo. Limited in terms of his high end PA but has consistently performed well for us. A full international, he has 44 caps and a great 34 goals! For FMCU Wanderers he has a club record 251 goals in all competitions and 88 assists. A great player for us and will still be part of our team for a few seasons yet!

Carabao Cup Semi Final

image.thumb.png.ba6c88bf9fc964e3a903945414cee89f.png

Note to self. Dont play a complete 2nd string team after a thumping 1st leg win as we are not that good yet. Thankfully 2 late goals means we went through 9-7 on aggregate.

We win our first major (kind of) trophy and we will play in Europe next season! A first minute goal and we were looking comfortable until the red card. They hammered us 2nd half but we held on!
