Get back to the top flight of Portuguese after a near 30 year absence using only youth academy players. Torreense are currently sitting in the 4th tier of Portuguese football as of July 2021 and with big ambitions hope to push up the Portuguese leagues. -- The best way to gain success? By hiring a 34yr old who has never even been to Portugal of course and doesn't speak a word of Portuguese. The half Aussie, half Pole is however keen for his first managerial stint. Joziah did what most English speaking do and straight away went to Google Translate to see what Torreense roughly translates towards in English, and thus the nickname 'The Turrets' was birthed. -- -- Finances in the bin from day one, of course! A now sacked loan manager making nearly 1000£ a week didn't help the cause, as well as several starters on big amounts of money for a 4th division side with no income, has lead to the finances being in the absolute toilet. -- A few stars left the day I joined the club on pre-arranged deals. Our best striker is of course a 17yr old! Remember the name, Andre Anastacio. Hopefully he will be able to lead the line this season. Spoiler -- The club asks that I fight bravely against relegation, but I'm looking to push for promotion first season. Didn't expect to beat Braga but a loss to Sanjoanense, an non-playable team had me slightly concerned. -- Our first friendly, our first injury. Our starting AML is now out for 3-4 months.
