Not great in September, on paper at least, as we twice went 2 or more goals down and couldn't recover

but we were the better side against Zaragoza, and even at 2-0 down we were their equal on xG

and it was similar against Everton. The common theme of both matches was that I did auto pick team selection, and failed to notice that Danilo Leonardo had been chosen. Everton was his last start for the club, and barring injury, might be his last game in a Barcelona shirt

The Zaragoza defeat means we end September in second in La Liga

and a sloppy draw against Everton means that the next match in the Champions League, at home to Dortmund, is now a must win game

One win from three La Liga games wasn't good in November

and leaves us second, 6 points behind Real Madrid

but two Champions League wins means we need a draw in Dortmund in the final match to top the group. Defeat could see us fail to qualify if Everton beat Slavia Prague. I literally have no idea what the permutations are, but the fact we don't already have a Q next to our name means we can miss out

Not a good December

but we were unlucky against Dortmund

and somehow let a 2-0 lead slip against 10-man Espanol

We're now 8 points behind Real Madrid

but finished top of our Champions League group, as 3 teams ended up on 11 points

Eight games, eight wins in January

which included a trophy in the shape of the Supercopa

but that wasn't enough to return us to the top of the league. We remain second, still 5 points behind Real Madrid

One January signing, and three departures since the last transfer update

Oscar Ferreira came in to replace Mladen Mrsic, who has been asking for a transfer almost all season

We couldn't follow a perfect January with a perfect February

but we should have beaten Malaga

and Juventus

but we were able to cut Real Madrid's advantage to 4 points. The title isn't over yet

I'm not quite sure how we didn't beat Australia (apart from the fact we didn't actually stick the ball in the net, well not legally, anyway)

But we did win arguably the harder of the two matches, against Mexico

March was perfect, and included overturning a first leg Champions League deficit to beat Juventus

but we remain second, still 4 points behind Real Madrid, who we face at the Santiago Bernabeu on the final day

So close to an unbeaten April, but we were narrowly beaten in the away leg in the Champions League

and the unbeaten league run has put us top of the table, but five league games, a Champions League semi final second leg, and, hopefully a final, is going to make for a crazy May

Season review time

Two new arrivals, both have been excellent

Disappointed to miss out on the La Liga title. Sloppy draws against the likes of Girona have cost us this season

There were still plenty of good moments though

and although finances have worsened, they're still very healthy

Can't argue with the team of the year

but weirdly, the World's best goalkeeper isn't even the first choice at Barcelona

That's it, another season done. I have applied for a job, but if I don't get it, I'll happily remain at Barcelona

Three players have been signed, although the Timmerman deal was arranged before I signed

He's a decent enough player, but definitely not a signing I'd have made

Dupuis, on the other hand, is a young centre back who I targeted as soon as I joined Spurs

and Tulio is another centre back, and should be familiar, as he is a big part of my Brazil squad

One match from perfect in October, but we were fortunate to even get a draw at West Ham

We're up to 5th, 4 points behind new leaders Manchester United

and top of our Champions League group, ahead of a home match against PSG. We could knock them out and secure our own progress with a win

Not great in the Premier League in November, despite four wins out of six overall

and that sees us stay 5th, but now 7 points off the top

but already guaranteed to win our Champions League group, with a game against Celtic to play.

December was a poor month for results

but we were unlucky to lose 3-1 to Bournemouth

threw away a 2 goal lead against Southampton, also missing a penalty

and surrendered a 3-1 lead at Derby

leaving the Premier League looking like this, the title gone, and probably the top 4 too

but we comfortably won our Champions League group

Five wins out of eight in January, but only two from four in the league.

leaves us five points off a Champions League spot, but we do have a game in hand on all above us.

Five departures, one arrival since the last transfer update

Steve Lucas, despite the name, is a young French right winger, and comes in to replace Timmerman, who is almost 34 and was starting to decline rapidly. Lucas has 4* potential, according to my Assistant

Not a great February, results-wise at least

and whilst we were second best in Bilbao, 4-0 was harsh, and we should have beaten Burnley too, another late goal ruining our day

but we are somehow in the top 4. We absolutely need to stay there. I almost certainly won't be at Tottenham next season, but if we don't secure top 4, that will probably be their decision rather than mine. I'm not enjoying life in North London, but the save will continue as I want to take Brazil through at least this summer's Copa America

Brazil were back in friendly action in March against Austria and England. Here is my squad. Danilo Leonardo has been withdrawn by Barcelona. He might not get back in if these matches go well

March started very well for Spurs, but ended with two cup exits

but the Premier League is looking much healthier, as we look like securing Champions League football for next season

One match from perfect in April

but I'm thinking of calling the police and declaring Carrow Road a crime scene after they stole a point from us

which leaves us third in the league, and very nearly assured a Champions League spot. One more win needed. Mathematically we can still win the title, but it would take a monumental bottle job from the top two for us to win it

We end the season with a perfect month. Three wins, and no goals conceded

and that was enough to overhaul Chelsea and secure a second placed finish.

End of season review time

Three new signings. Two very impressive, one has work to do but is still young enough to make it

We had a really solid end to the season, dropping just 4 points between February and May

Produced some good wins

But Champions League failure hit the finances

Our team of the year. Big concern is that our best keeper is 36, so we'll be looking for a new one, amongst other things, over the summer (unless I move on, as I indicated I was going to earlier in the season)

We didn't win any competition awards, but I got Manager of the Month a couple of times, and Aritz Fernandez broke the club goalscoring record

and that's another season done. Time for focus to shift to Brazil and the Copa America
