Is there a Blackburn researcher who can advise why the members of the |Blackburn U23 team are rated so low in both current CA and in PA?

They are 2nd only to Man City in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table  

Scott Wharton was one of the stand out players for the first team and was picked above Ayala (when he was fit) before his injury

suggest a CA boost to circa 110-115 for Wharton and increasing Ayalas injury proneness

Hayden Carter has gone on loan to Burton where he is one of their best players and has helped turn their season around

Surely a CA of circa 100 and a PA boost is needed

Tyler Magloire has done similar at Motherwell

Dan Pike is a stand out performer at right back for the U23 side who are 2nd in their league and is very highly rated by the club (has been called up to the first team squad and name dropped by the manger)

Pike, along with many of the other U23 squad players, especially Barnes, Durrant, Garrett, Gilsenen, Burns, Nolan ( who is a CAM, not a CDM ), Whitehall, Harlock, Cirino and Eastham surely deserver some sort of boost to PA and CA, and players like Stergiakis (who is far behind Eastham in the U23 pecking order) and Mols (who is due to be released and currently on trial away from the club) need their stats reducing somewhat

Christina, your excellent input is appreciated. The researcher is aware that, finally, there is a Blackburn supporter keen to post observations here after many years of no Rovers fans posting here. That is welcome.


Blackburn's U23 team are rated appropriately as a group, compared to other U23 clubs. When those players prove themselves at higher level, then they can be increased. I am sure you can appreciate that our researchers are unable to attend U23 football this season as they have done in the past.

Magloire's loan at Motherwell didn't start until February. His CA is more than fair considering his impact at Rochdale and Hartlepool. He' s only played six games for Motherwell now. Their researcher will assess him based on the entirety of his loan there, not just a debut or first two appearances. 

Stergiakis' CA  and CR were rated by the Bulgarian research team to reflect his performances in senior football in that nation.

Wharton isn't a 115 player yet. Based on five starts, that would be extremely generous of us to boost him to those levels. When he proves it over a decent timescale his profile can be amended. His five loan spells have given him his current CA which is fair based on those loans. Maybe he could have been give a 5 point CA boost, but you are looking for things to moan about, really.


Play the game. If you play the game those players will improve as they get experience and do well.


The database for the final update was locked over a week ago now. Therefore, anything posted since then is too late to be considered for that.

Thanks for the reply Dean, I'm not sure that I agree that Blackburn U23 are rated appropriately as a group compared to other U23 teams.... but that's football,  and we all have our own opinions.

If the database for the final update was locked last week, does that mean the update is due this week?  Sorry I had to ask  :-)

Datalock was last week, it normally takes a couple of weeks for the issues to be resolved, as the update has to be run past the testers first. 
I'd say in the next week or so, but, I'm not SI.

The data was locked last week so it’s too late for 21.4 I’m afraid.

They return to the Ricoh Arena at the start of the 21/22 season on FM anyway.

Looking at the latest version of the database, its telling me that both are 2002. I've not looked in game at this since the update.

That's because I fixed it in the live database after seeing this post earlier today! It was 2001 (an error, as reported).

I know that the database cannot be updated for FM21, but there are a few changes needed for Blackburn Rovers staff for FM22.

thanks for the effort in the latest update!  One thing I just noticed is Joe is 64kg.  I know that's listed in various literature on the net so maybe nothing you can do but surely he is much heavier than that or is to the eye anyway. 

I still think he is a under-rated from a CA perspective, but that's obviously where personal opinion steps in and it's nice he got a bump in any case and Cafu rightly did as well.

I think some missing DOBs are here, I've been using them in my editions  - Nottingham Forest Under-18s - YouthHawk

Joe is a bit of a strange build anyway, and, having spoken to people that know him, hes pretty much at that weight, give or take a few pounds.

We (myself and Dean), had numerous conversations about his rating. His CA puts him towards the top end of Forest players in the DB, however, by everyones standards, he hasn't had a fantastic season. He has had issues with injuries (he has had a niggling 'shin splints' like injury through most of the season, which, although hasn't kept him out of every match, has limited his involvement on occasion. You will notice, he is still good, however, there have been changes made which bring him closer to the team performance.

thanks for the reply i think you are referring to Lolley in the second part at least, and I think youve done great with him, but I was meaning Worrall.  I forgot we had a few Joes.

Human error here, I'm sorry to report.

He was in the database on loan, which I deleted, and I also updated his playing history, squad number, date joined, contract details etc, without updating the 'club contracted' field from Luton to Charlton. Apologies for that.

As far as I can tell, Connor Taylor; Stoke City U-18 & U-23 central defender, is missing from the database. Today he has been named in the matchday squad for Stoke City's Championship away game to Bristol City.

Hi, new to this forum but I was redirected here by FM twitter lol I have a 'data issue' I'd wish to bring up. Blackburn Rovers u23s are second in the Premier League 2, we have one of the best academies in the country, were always promoting lads from the u23s into the first team (EFL Championship) yet there's no recognition of this in FM, we have no wonderkids in the game and the ratings of our u23s is terrible, most if not all of them will make it into EFL football at a minimum and there's a few who will make into into our first team in the near future..This needs addressing in FM 22 to actually show their talent and the quality of academy we have. In real life we use the academy players instead of sometimes going into the transfer market and an example of this is in our first team the likes of Lenihan, Nyambe, Buckley, Rankin-Costello, Wharton & Travis are all from the academy but now in the first team and others who have been in the first team squad in past couple of years are Vale, Carter, Magloire, Grayson (who are all out on loan at League One and SPL) McBride, Butterworth & Pike yet in the game the ratings of the players are that bad you can't even do that to reflect real life lol also David Raya at Brentford is from our academy .. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them in the Premier League eventually too, thanks guys :) sorry for the long essay haha just feel passionate about this

Human error on my behalf, somewhere down the line I'll have missed his transfer to the club. I'll look to get him added moving forward.

Tom White is missing his loan at Barrow from Blackburn, joined 15/11/19 until 22/04/20 and made 18 appearances scoring 2 goals.
