PREVIEW: Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag

NSI_0-0_Undrid_pre01.png.1959380586b1a638d875d4c1cd3796a0.png

Torshavn Sports: In the big top two clash against Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II, you kept your incredible high scoring, winning run going with a 5-0 victory. How good was that?

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse_icon.png.0d857d5ff3f20b205733b0baa2139718.png

Stuniverse: It was very good, thank you, and what's more, I thought we thoroughly deserved it. Psychologically, it was a massive result for us. Last season we had three big games where we knew going in that something significant was waiting for us with a win, twice we knew a win would take us second, and in another game we were second and knew a win would consolidate us in second, and on all three occasions we lost the game.  Last time out against Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II, knowing a win would keep us top of the league, we did get the win. That shows how mentally strong this squad of players are.

Once again the goals were spread around, two for Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard, two for Kasper Frandsen, and one for Johan Petersen. The scoreline may have flattered us a bit, scoring in the 86th, 91st and 94th minutes as we did, but we'll take it. I was delighted with our attacking play but, if anything, I was even more delighted defensively with the clean sheet.

NSI_0-0_Undrid_pre03-lgTab.png.34a9e7caa317215be034d050cc30a6bf.png

Torshavn Sports: Another away game and another chance to stay top of the league against recently relegated Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II.

Stuniverse: Yes. Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II haven't got off to the best of starts, after dropping down from 1. Deild, but we know they have good players and will start climbing the league table soon. We're confident of getting another good result though and will be doing our best to earn the three points.

NSI_0-0_Undrid_pre4-inj.png.6b73458644f94edfb779a42bd49b5fbc.png

Torshavn Sports: Hjati Vestergaard damaged his ankle against Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II, but had to play on as you'd already used all your subs. How is he?

Stuniverse: Fortunately, Hjati only bruised his ankle, although it was painful for him at the time, and we would've subbed him if we could. Hjati is available for selection today.

PREVIEW: Boltfelagid Royn v Undrid Fotboltsfelag

Royn_0-0_Undrid_pre01.png.6c0e6002048d96029175c6abf8ba682b.png

Royn_0-0_Undrid_pre01a.png.537d3249ef4c79fb5c864d782a5b66ca.png

Torshavn Sports: A disappointing 1-0 defeat at Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II last time out.

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse5.png.fbd2b14ba5f7b5c3346c43a357f0f7c9.png

Stuniverse: Indeed, sadly. They scored early, after nine minutes, and despite huffing and puffing, and going from Positive to Attacking to Very Attacking in the second-half, we were unable to get an equaliser. Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard thought he'd equalised in the first-half, but the assistant's flag ruled it out for offside. After the break, Lennert Dalsgaard hit the post. To be fair, we didn't have our shooting boots on and didn't work their goalkeeper anywhere near enough, with too many attempts off target.

Royn_0-0_Undrid_pre02.png.b601529e503e14b4a59ae4b176f28e97.png

Torshavn Sports: At least you have another match to get that set-back out of your system and you should be able to do that against a 5th placed Boltfelagid Royn side you've beaten four times already in your short managerial career and, earlier this season, Undrid Fotboltsfelag beat Boltfelagid Royn 6-1 in the Logmanssteypid.

Stuniverse: Our record against Boltfelagid Royn does give us confidence, but previous results won't count for anything today. Our last game, the defeat against Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II hurt because we didn't feel we did ourselves justice. We want to get back to winning ways against Boltfelagid Royn and hopefully we will do just that.

Royn_0-0_Undrid_pre03.png.5468525148fb0ba7f7306f21fb333a2a.png

Torshavn Sports: How's your injury situation?

Stuniverse: Our medical team are being kept busy. Lennert Dalsgaard (hamstring) and Mathias Schou (calf) are definitely ruled out. Scott O'Neill (knee) is doubtful, while Frederik Vettenbach (hamstring) and Hjalti Vestergaard (knee) are available for selection.

PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II

Undrid_0-0_EB_pre01.png.303676f1e5a77fbae7835fafcd68e296.png

Torshavn Sports: What a way to bounce back after your first defeat of the season with a 6-1 away win at Boltfelagid Royn.

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse5.png.1970f9de969022c28d4005c44ea80466.png

Stuniverse: Yes, it was. Boltfelagid Royn made things very difficult for us in the first-half, but once we got the second goal and went on to score three goals in five minutes, there was only one team in it. I know it's early days, only five games into the 2. Deild campaign, but the players are really working hard and are thoroughly deserving of the plaudits coming their way.

Undrid_0-0_EB_pre02.png.26cbf4ed747db4d5a5e52f7550960224.png

Torshavn Sports: Back home at J & K Vollur for a game against 6th placed Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II. After the results yesterday, this is a perfect opportunity to stretch your lead over the chasing pack.

Stuniverse: It is. We're in a great position right now and every game we win potentially improves our position further. It's up to the players to continue working hard and make the most of this opportunity.

Undrid_0-0_EB_pre03.thumb.png.335981b2b5955c3ffb05e49258157828.png

Torshavn Sports: You had a few injuries last time. How are things looking now?

Stuniverse: We only have two players doubtful - Lennert Dalsgard (hamstring) and Mathias Schou (calf).

PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Argja Boltfelag II

Undrid_0-0_AB_pre01.png.edcc8046ae12093af65d0a76d215b666.png

Torshavn Sports: You beat Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II 8-4 in an absolutely crazy match. What did you make of it?

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse_icon.png.8232bf164677264435b2d76cc51da902.png

Stuniverse: We were both good and bad. Scoring eight goals was obviously very, very good. Letting in four goals, particularly against ten men, was pretty bad. We got sloppy after the red card - a deserved red card, by the way - and the players seemed to just want to score as many goals as possible without worrying about defending. That aspect of our game wasn't good enough and we'll need to work on that in training to improve.

Undrid_0-0_AB_pre02.png.777e1b627a193d3a239004f21c1d9e89.png

Torshavn Sports: Next up, a home match against recently relegated Argja Boltfelag II, who find themselves in 7th place. Are you surprised to see them down near the bottom?

Stuniverse: Yes, I am. On merit, Argja Boltfelag II shouldn't have been relegated as they finished 5th out of 10 last season, but they were relegated because their first-team dropped down from Betri Deildin Menn. I expect Argja Boltfelag II will start climbing the league table soon, we just have to make sure their revival doesn't start against us.

Undrid_0-0_AB_pre03.png.1ead4ee39531074166a6a16fda045111.png

Torshavn Sports: Any update on the injuries?

Stuniverse: Yes, we're without Mathias Schou (calf), Lennert Dalsgaard (hamstring) and Scott O'Neill (knee).

PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III

Undrid_0-0_KI_pre01.png.14afb1bb4eb95a885c593829bf6ecd97.png

Torshavn Sports: A 2-2 draw against Argja Boltfelag II last time out but were you somewhat fortunate after being  2-0 down after 19 minutes?

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse_icon.png.6ee2cf9bf670e2ecc2df84460d4273e4.png

Stuniverse: We knew Argja Boltfelag II  were going to be difficult opponents as, on merit, they shouldn't have bee relegated from 1. Deild after finishing 5th, but the team that finished 9th got a lucky break, only surviving relegation when the Argja Boltfelag first team were relegated from Betri Deildin Menn.

Argja Boltfelag II started very brightly, put us under pressure from the start, and scored two good goals. That was disappointing, but our players didn't let their heads drop and kept on trying to do the right things. At half-time we changed a few things, encouraged the players, and they responded with two good goals of our own through Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard and Frederik Vittenbach. By the end, we looked like the most likely team to grab a winner but it wasn't to be.

Undrid_0-0_KI_pre02.png.310dd31536df70ea73b8d39e7f08b6cd.png

Torshavn Sports: Today you face mid-table Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III at home and a chance to get back to winning ways?

Stuniverse: Yes, it's great to be playing at J & K Vollur again, in front of our own supporters, and we'll be doing everything we can to win the game. Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III have won three games this season so we know they are capable of causing us problems, but we're confident of out-scoring anybody in 2. Deild this season.

use.png.13135467b4328d7fe8763727248ffe32.png

Torshavn Sports: You were critical of the fixture list when you had three away games out of four but this is now your third home game on the spin at J & K Vollur.

Stuniverse: Yes. It was frustrating at the time but, obviously, the schedule does even itself out over the full season.

Undrid_0-0_KI_pre03.png.8e8af3d7871fa8cdc508d7236d8d9e65.png

Torshavn Sports: Any injury doubts today?

Stuniverse: Yes, Mathias Schou (calf), Lennert Dalsgaard (knee) and Scott O'Neill (knee) are all doubtful. Everybody else is available for selection.

Thank you, @anagain. Our front four have such quality at this level that I thought it was worth trying. To be honest, I'm surprised how well this tactic is working because it does leave us short in central midfield. Even my players are sceptical, every time I select a team they express concerns that it will leave us exposed at the back.

PREVIEW: 07 Vestur v Undrid Fotboltsfelag

Vestur_0-0_Undrid_pre01.png.414a98f0a6562c8ff4aa70fa0e29ab2d.png

Torshavn Sports: A good 2-0 win against Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III last time out, but you had to be patient, didn't you?

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse6.png.626b8e9f28880a8db530e5e0a15fa76f.png

Stuniverse: Yes, we did. Credit to Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III, they made it very difficult for us at both ends of the pitch. My players put in a real shift though, didn't get disheartened as the minutes ticked away, and finally got reward for their hard work when Johan Hognesen finally broke the deadlock with a superb free-kick in the 65th minute. What a sensational way for Johan to score his first goal for the club. Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard settled our nerves when he doubled our lead with five minutes to go.

Vestur_0-0_Undrid_pre02.png.64e95b60aa9f8e02faa2985ba2525f1a.png

Torshavn Sports: A break from 2. Deild today when you go to Betri Deildin Menn side 07 Vestur in the Logmanssteypid second round. How do you approach this challenge?

Stuniverse: Challenge is right, but we've prepared the same way we always do, we've been playing well this season so we'll play the same way we have all season and see how we get on. 07 Vestur are a top flight team, but they're finding it difficult this season and are in the relegation zone after getting promoted as 1. Deild champions last season. For us, it's going to be a great litmus test as to how we stack up against the team who, last season, won 1. Deild, the division we're trying to get promoted into.

Vestur_0-0_Undrid_pre03.png.09ee56aafc628888cc833c4e43fe01ac.png

PREVIEW: Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III v Undrid Fotboltsfelag

NSI_0-0_Undrid_pre01.png.cc32510d9ce13ad67e8087554feb3d72.png

Torshavn Sports: How disappointed were you to go out of the Logmanssteypid on penalties to 07 Vestur?

zzzz_Adventure_Stuniverse_icon.png.0d889fbe43a6566878729b6e9a8fbfac.png

Stuniverse: Disappointed. Yes, obviously. Penalty shootouts are a lottery. There's no blame attached to the two players who missed - one saved the other hitting the post - because they're all heroes in my book. All five players who stepped forward to take a penalty kick deserve a huge amount of credit for being brave enough to have a go.

Torshavn Sports: What were your thoughts on the match overall?

Stuniverse: I'm immensely proud of how well my players performed against a 07 Vestur team who play two divisions above us. We had our chances to win the game during the 90 minutes and also in extra-time. That was very pleasing. To fall behind, three minutes into extra-time, was a hammer blow but my players responded magnificently and grabbed an equaliser through Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard in the second period of extra-time. It' a shame we couldn't find a way to win the game but my payers can hold their heads high.

NSI_0-0_Undrid_pre02.png.37423f4b940c0a3e9545c67e45055bb4.png

Torshavn Sports: Back to the league again, against a Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III team who are second-bottom and sacked their manager last weekend. A good opportunity for you to consolidate your position at the top of the league.

Stuniverse: It's a cliche but, yes, we can concentrate on the league now. We're eight games in and have made a fantastic start to the season. We won't be underestimating Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III but it's up to my players to do everything they can to keep our great run of form going.
