So far, only Benjamin Knudsen, of the Faroese Football Daily, has been allowed to speak to Stuniverse and the new Undrid manager appeared delighted with his trio of signings based on Knudsen's reports. We are working hard with Undrid football club ourselves and hope to be granted permission to speak to Stuniverse ahead of the Vikingur III game although, we understand, there will be complications as Stuniverse does not speak Faroese. I know that Undrid have no right-back and only one centre-back which makes it somewhat challenging trying to field a back-four, or any form of defensive back-line for that matter. It's early days, I'm still getting to know the players, and the players are still getting used to me and how I want the team to play. This time last week we wouldn't have been able to field a balanced side. We've made vast strides in that area, bringing in 12 players, so at least we can now play round pegs in round holes. I'm expecting us to be competitive, give a good account of ourselves, and hopefully progress to the next round. Torshavn Sports: You lost your only friendly match 1-2 against Vikingur III last week. What did you learn from that match? Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): I thought we gave a good account of ourselves and caused Vikingur III problems. We got off to a slow start, but settled into the game and looked defensively solid and creative going forward. I thought we deserved our 1-0 lead and were good value for it. It was only in the last half hour, after I'd made 11 changes, that we conceded the two goals. Overall, I was very happy with our performance. Torshavn Sports: You lost trialist Beinir Guttesen to a knee ligament injury yet still offered him a contract. Why was that and how is his injury? Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): Beinir has sprained knee ligaments and he'll be out for up to seven weeks. Beinir impressed us, and seven weeks isn't that long in the overall scheme of things. We decided to offer him the deal in any case and, after all, as an Amateur club it's not like we're paying him anything and he isn't tied to his contract as he's free to join another club should he so choose. The players showed that they have been listening and were trying to put into practice what we have been asking them to do. I know some of the pundits have pointed out that FC Suduroy created more chances than us, and they did, but I thought we created the better chances. We also had two goals disallowed for offside, one very harshly in my opinion, and I thought we deserved to win the game overall. The players showed a tremendous amount of character and spirit to come back and win 2-1 after a conceding a 4th minute goal away from home. But I can see why you might say that, of course, as Vikingur did put us under intense pressure at times, but I thought we dealt with it well thanks to some brilliant saves from our goalkeeper and captain Terji Brynjarsson. Torshavn Sports: Are you worried that you might not have Brynjarsson's services for much longer? Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): That's one of the perils of an amateur team like Undrid, we can't tie our players down to the club with contracts. Terji is our leader and he's an outstanding goalkeeper. If he continues to put in performances like he did against Vikingur then he's going to attract interest and I won't stand in the way of any of the players here bettering themselves if an opportunity arises. Selfishly, of course, I hope I get to work with Terji for a long time yet. Torshavn Sports: Another away match against Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II. Are you considering any changes? I am considering a change or two because we're still getting used to this 4-3-3 system and a couple of the players aren't happy about being played out of position, even though my coaching staff and I think they are more than capable of doing the roles we've asked them to play. Nobody can say you didn't deserve the three points, despite them having two goals disallowed before you took the lead. Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): Thank you. I thought we played the best we have since I arrived here and we thoroughly deserved the win. Yes, they did have two goals disallowed but they were ruled out because we defended those situations well and they were offside. We scored two very good goals through a header from centre-back Aron Sorensen from a corner and a well-worked goal scored by right-winger Louis Joensen. They put us under increasing pressure as the game wore on and it got a bit nervy after they pulled one back on 90 minutes, but we saw added-on time out and got the job done for three well-deserved points. Our unbeaten start is, in no small part, thanks to our captain and goalkeeper Terji Brynjarsson who's been outstanding. How long before another club takes an interest in him and offers him a deal? As an Amateur club, I don't think there's anything I can do to persuade him to stay in that situation. Royn, also an Amateur club in the same division as us, are already reported to be scouting our midfielder Jonas Bech as they are interested in signing him. In readiness for losing players, and also to try and improve the squad, my recruitment team are already at work but, so far, I can count on the fingers of both hands the players who are willing to join us and I'm not sure any of them are any better than what we currently have. Were you happy with the result? Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): I would have liked to have won the game, obviously, but after conceding early I was happy that the players were able to equalise and not lose the game. We knew Suduroy would give us a tough game, after we needed extra-time to beat them in the Logmanssteypid so it was no surprise to us that this was another tight encounter. We created slightly more chances than Suduroy and had opportunities to win the game, none better than Kasper Frandsen's late chance which their goalkeeper did well to save. I'm pleased with that. Torshavn Sports: Given the Board's expctation is to avoid relegation, you must be delighted with your unbeaten start to the season after four 2. dield mtches and one Logmanssteypid tie. Stuniverse (translated by Annika Vestergaard): Yes, I am. But the league season is 27 games, not four... there's a lot of football still to be played.
