Manager's Thoughts

We kicked off our campaign in the semi-finals against Adelaide Utd,this was actually my 700th game in management and it was a really nervy affair which was settled with a goal from my right back! The final was a completely different story as we battered Melbourne Victory in the first half as we scored all four goals in that half, the second half was boring with very little happening due to the amount of fouls committed.I can't think of a better way then finishing my stint in Australia than by beating my arch nemesis Kenny Miller in the final!

End of Season update to follow then onto job hunting in Indonesia.

Western Sydney Wanderers - A-League - End of Season - 2034/35

General - Vision - Facilities - Finances

Transfers - Released

Three players were released with Prior and Ruiz agreeing to mutual termination due to not being registered in the 23 man squad for the A-League,Negi was released as he was surplus to requirements and I was trying to sell him for two years with no success so off he went after he annoyed me.Eight players went out on loan all of which were for development reasons and four of these eight ended up at other A-League clubs so that is very encouraging.Just the one  player came in and that was Najera on a free transfer after he left Once Caldas on a free due to his contract expiring,he comes in as the first choice AML.

It was a closely fought league this season as we won it by five points ahead of Melbourne Victory,May proved to be the pivotal month for us as we beat then top side Sydney twice to clinch the title. For the Grand finals we had a hard fought 1-0 victory over Adelaide Utd in the semi-finals before a first half demolition job against Melbourne Victory saw us win 4-0 to clinch another Grand Finals.

The away goals Champions League final win over Shandong in 2034 means I've finished Australia which is a year ahead of when I expected,it was a late Mullen penalty in the 4-2 second leg defeat which was the vital goal to get the away goal win. This seasons Champions League has been straight forward ,we topped our group with a perfect record which did contain Joenbuk Hyundai and we easily beat Al-Sadd 6-1 on aggregate in the second round to move onto the quarter finals.

Westfield FFA Cup - Winners

e24734503a1ce35e6ac6a9b0450ea3c1.png

We had quite an easy run to the final which saw us beat North Lake Mustangs (13-0),Sydney (4-1),Bayside Utd (9-0) and Capalaba (7-0) to get the final, when Sydney is the most difficult tie in that run,it would of been a massive underachievement if we didn't get to the final. The final against Melbourne Victory was a pretty frantic game but Mullens quick fire double was vital in the win as we lifted the FFA Cup.Thank god I will never have to deal with Dick Rooney again as he has been a massive pain in my time at Western Sydney Wanderers.

Manager's Thoughts

All good things come to an end and we did it in style as we I finished off my time in Australia with a clean sweep.I am hoping this also the only time I ever win a final on away goals, that second leg against Shandong produced so much despair,I didn't think it was possible when we went 4-1 down but as they say sometimes you've got to go through hell to get to heaven! On the domestic front we won it all,the A-League Regular stage win was my lowest points total but getting one over Kenny Miller and Melbourne Victory in my final game was the best way to go.As a leaving present,I got the club to agree to Training and Youth facility upgrades which will put them at 4* and we got the Junior Coaching upgrade so I have cemented Western Sydney as the biggest team in Australia as my leaving present to them.

We move onto Indonesia now, this is where the challenge truly starts as Indonesia along with Malaysia,India,Singapore and Hong Kong are among the worst leagues in the game and winning the Asian Champions League with a team from these nations will go down among the biggest highlights of the save, these five nations are worse than the worse in South America and Europe. At the minute there isn't a job in Indonesia but there could be one soon as the manager's position is insecure so it's a case of wait and see.

Australia has now finished which means Brazil is added as the first nation of South America due to Serie A being higher than Argentina's Liga Professional.I can also use Brazil as motivation,it will be motivation in the sense of it being the promised land that I will be aiming for as I get the feeling things are going to be rough in the next five nations I will be managing in!

Manager's Thoughts

I said the next five nations were going to be a challenge but I didn't think my first challenge would be to get out of the relegation zone,we have sixteen games left to play but we are only five points adrift of safety so surviving is definitely doable. The only positions I need to look at strengthening are the goalkeeper and striker positions as we have a pretty solid team, the defence looks pretty light but we have three players in the youth team who should be able to step up.We can actually have a four foreign players in the team and we currently have zero so I can use the Goalkeeper and Striker roles for foreign players, the other position I will look to use a foreign option in is the AML position as we only have three players.

My hope is to get off to a good start and at least get more than the one win the club currently has,the first couple of games are tow we could possibly get points in with the second game being vital as we are facing Persiraja Banda who are three points ahead of us but we do have a better gosal difference so we could go above them if we win.Time to get this challenge on the road.

Manager's Thoughts

I could not have asked for a better start to life at the club as we won all three league games while scoring four each time, this has moved us out of the relegation zone and we now have a three point lead over Persiraja Banda whom we beat 4-1 in my second game in charge, the result against Arema Cronus was a bit of a surprise as it was a even game but we were more clinical in front of goal.As for the Piala Indonesia game,I have no complaints about the result as the better team won,Persib Bandung actually are the first Indonesian side to make the quarter finals of the Champions League and it was easy to tell the difference in the abilitiy of the players but at least we scored two past them!Tactic wise I have gone with a 4-2-4 which seems to work well in both attack and defence, the only exception being the cup game but I am not counting that!

October brings us five more games, four in the league and one in the Piala Indonesia. It's a mixed bag of league games for us as we play the two bottom sides as well as two of the top seven so if we can pick at least six points up then that should help pull away from the relegation fight. As for the Pilal Indonesia match,we are at home against Persib Bandung,I am not expecting anything from the match as they are a much better side but they are my target as that is where I want to be in three to four years time and fighting at the top of the table.

Manager's Thoughts

What a month that was as we went unbeaten in the league and picked up ten points in the process, this has now given us a twelve point gap over Persiraja Banda who occupy the last relegation spot.We were extremely lucky against Barito Putera and if I am being honest I think we shouldn't of walked out of the game with a point, while the win against Persipura Jayapura was a massive surprise as if you ignore the scoreline then it was a fairly even game.As for the Piala Indonesia,we lost 2-1 against Persib Bandung,we gave it a good go but we still lost to a much superior side as we went out 6-3 on aggregate.

We have five league games to play in November, four of the teams are around 9-15th place so we should be able to pick up some points from these games. The match which isn't against a team between 9-15th is against Persib Bandung and I am not expecting anything from that game but we are at home so I want to at least put in a fighting effort against them.

Manager's Thoughts

November was a bit of a mixed bag of results as we picked up eight points from fifteen which actually saw us move up to eight place which is phenomenal,we're not quite guaranteed safety yet but even if I lost every game between now and the end of the season,I still think we would survive. We were late specialists at the end of the month as we scored a late winner against Bhayangkhara and a late and completely undeserved equalizer against Persib Bandung which netted us a vital four points in our quest to survive.

December is the final month of the season and we have four games left to play in the league. It's actually quite a tough month as we face Persebaya Surabaya and Persija Jakarta who are both in the top five and we face Semen Padang and Persiba Balikpapan who are both directly behind us.All I need from these four games is one point and that will be survival guaranteed although it is more than likely that it will come from either of the teams directly below us.

It doesn't look to bad despite all the yellow as it mentions that this a good group of players coming through,I will be keeping an eye out for centre back and the central midfielder as I don't think you can have too many of those. The Intake day is in March which is actually pre-season for us so if we do get any highly rated youngsters then we should be able to register them before the season starts.

Manager's Thoughts

Well that was certainly a entertaining month as everything I thought would happen didn't happen,we beat the League Champions despite being dominated then had a barnstormer of a match against Persija Jakarta in the final game of the season and to think we were leading 2-1 at half time!On the flip side,I thought we had a really good chance of beating the two teams around us but we ended up drawing both games as we finished in eight place which I am over the moon about as it gives me something to work with going into the new season.

End of Season update to follow then onto 2036 we go!

Piala Indonesia - 4th Round

The previous manager did well to reach the fourth round.I was in charge of both games for the fourth round tie against Persib Bandung, they showed their quality and knocked us out as we lost 6-3 on aggregate to them,at least I can say I lost to a team who made it to the quarter finals of the Champions League!

Manager's Thoughts

What a wild start it has been so far as I've been in charge for eighteen matches which produced a record of 10-5-3 out of those eighteen games, those eighteen game saw us get knocked out in the cup by second place,we beat first place in the league and took part in a twelve goal thriller against Persija Jakarta! The team isn't bad by the standard I have seen so we have a solid foundation,we also got £290k prize money for where we finished in the league which is actually pretty great for a club of our size as it keeps us out of debt,I think the prize money could increase if the league gets better so that is something to keep an eye out on in the future. However at this minute in time,we may be out of debt but we do not have enough in the bank to get upgrades of any sort but that may come in the future.

For next season,I want to strengthen the team as I want to close the gap on third which was thirty two points this season.I've already arranged improvements for the team, the goalkeeper was the weakest area of the team and we have a keeper coming in who is rated much better than what we have so that should help,I've also arranged a right back to come in as that will allow our current first choice right back to play his preferred position which is centre back so that will help the defence. The areas I need to look at now are AML,MC and ST,if I can find suitable players for this then I don't see why we won't be able to do better than last season.

Indonesia did it!!!!

cc4dc138a562254cfb48fe1605d66834.png

Indonesia actually did it and I have had nothing to do with it as they have become a 2* league due to the AI!Hopefully this will carry on  but I won't take anything for granted as there is still a lot of work to do but having a better league will hopefully attract better players to the league.

India are not far off themselves as they are in 18th,Malaysia have slipped to 28th dropping one place in a year,Singapore have overtaken Hong Kong now,Singapore currently sit at 32nd (were 35th last year) while Hong Kong have dropped three palces to 33rd.

This improvement has also seen a number of qualification places rise to five which gives us a bigger chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

Manager's Thoughts

I'm going to be honest,I was that busy building a team for the new season that I forgot about the intake that comes before the season starts!

For the level I am at,this is actually an amazing intake as there will be a minimum of eight players who will definitely be kept on with another three being possibilities in the future. The top five all have the potential to be in any first team in the country at some point in time.I am really pleased to have some solid Indonesian youngsters coming through in Ramadhan,Pramono,Heryansyah and Syarifudin and I will be hoping they can develop enough to be able to play in the first team in two to three years as there isn't a lot quality in the country so it should be easy to get them game time at some point.

This leads to the oddball of the intake which is Meng Khoon Jarvis,he already has one of the most bizarre dual nationalities I've seen as he is Welsh/Kittian &Nevisian (born in Abergele) and he has come through at a Indonesian club!He is working towards Indonesian Nationality as he has been in the country for 1256 days but needs to be in the country continuously for 1825 days.He is a player I want to keep at all costs as he is the best player but one I may have to sell if he meets that potential as he could end up being one of the best strikers in the league if he meets that potential.

Persita Tangerang - Liga Super Indonesia - Pre-Season - 2036

General - Vision - Facilities - Finances

Season Preview - Expectations

Transfers - Released - Youth

I think this could be a first as I didn't release anyone and no one left the club permanently as I am generally happy with the team we had but we needed to add to it.The four players who left have all gone out on loan for developmental reasons as they could be useful in the future. We bought nine players in for a combined fee of £2.8k which was all on one player anyway. We had four spots for foreign players, the three none Asian foreign players are Torres,Saldias and Melivilu, they are all Chilean and will feature quite heavily. The foreign Asian player is Qarimov,he is a Tajikistan international,I went through every Asian nation to find a striker to partner Agung Jaya up front and I eventually found one who was willing to come to us!

Pre-Season Fixtures

Nothing too serious as I wanted a easier pre-season to build up the match sharpness and keep morale up going into the new season.Nice to see the first goal of pre-season go to one of the new signing from Chile!I will be going into the new season using 4-2-4 which is the formation I used in these games as the players are more familiar with it.

Manager's Thoughts

I am very pleased with what I have managed to get done during pre-season as our squad is much stronger than when we finished last season. The major problem last season was the goalkeeper spot in which I signed Alhadad who is  a much better keeper than what we had here,I also signed Jaya from the same club as Alhadad so we have made one of our divisional rivals a lot weaker in the process. We had zero foreign players in the team so all four of those slots are filled and I am extremely pleased with our transfer business in that area even if finding a foreign Asian striker was very time consuming.

The board want a top half finish which is the same as the media predicition,I am being a bit more ambitious as I want to hit the top five this season as it should be possible,I am not really bothered by the cup as much but a good run could be beneficial for the finances so I will be trying my best in that competition.I won't be able to do anything with regards to facilties,Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment due to the financial situation,I doubt I will be able to do anything to it till we are in the Champions League regularly so it could be a while before we see any development at the club.Time to see what I can do with the club in a full season.

Manager's Thoughts

Normally I'd be happy with eight points but I am more angry than anything as we conceded a 92nd minute equalizer against Persija Jakarta which was completely undeserved but my second choice keeper decided to not dive for the ball, the only reason he was playing is because my first choice received a four week injury after the game against Persebaya Surabaya.I am happy we are in sixth as I wanted to be in the top five but we would of been higher if it wasn't for one lapse in concentration.Other than that,we had solid wins against PSIS Semarang and Arema Cronus so I am happy with that and over the moon with a draw against Persebaya Surabaya as they are one of the big two in Indonesia.

We have five league games in May and it's a pretty tough month as we face Barito Putera,Persik Kediri and Putra Samarinda,we will need to be at our absolute best to get anything from those games. We do also play Bhayangkara and Perseia Lamaongan and I am pretty confident we can win those games so I will be aiming for eight points in May.

Just go caught up...be thankful you didn't have to use a "gray" player!

India has a interesting league but the players are complete dross...

I started an Asian Journeyman save as a Canadian of Chinese extraction....my first job was Chennai City in Indian Premier League. Lasted 49 days...have since moved to Hong Kong. Survived a relegation fight.

I have All of Asia, S. Africa, Canada, and MLS loaded as well as the top 5 European Leagues as playable.

India has some weird rules like you must have 3 goalkeepers on your team....

I'd rather put in a outfield player in net then use a "grey" player

The players are slowly starting to improve.Looking at the ones who are available, the quality isn't that much different to what I am working with in Indonesia but India has been loaded for quite a while so it isn't too surprising that the players coming through now are better than what would of been coming through at the start of the save.

I had to look for Chennai City to see how they have been doing, turns out they got relegated which is surprising as they had won the Indian Premier League three times since the save started!

Seems like a nice setup,Canada and the USA have produced a lot of players during my save so I hope it can be the same for you.

Manager's Thoughts

That was a really good month for us as we picked up twelve points which beat my aim of eight points.I am surprised we picked up twelve points as we conceded a 91st minute equalizer against Persik Kediri,I didn't think we would find a 94th minute winner in that match. The loss against Putra Samarinda was a fair loss as they were the better team and they are predicted to finish third in the league but we gave it a good go but we dropped to fourth after that match which is better than I wanted as it means we are pushing for a Champions League spot at this stage.

June is a really quiet month as we play twice, the two games are against Persipura Jayapura and Madura Utd,the first game will be a tough match but we should be able to beat Madura Utd as our attack should be too strong for their defence if this season is anything to go by.I think four points will be a realistic aim for June as we are at home for both games.

Manager's Thoughts

We met my realistic aim of four points but not in the way I was expecting,I was hoping to get a draw against Persipura Jayapura and beat Madura Utd but we did it the other way round,we smashed Persipura Jayapura and drew against Madura Utd,the Madura Utd match can be considered embarrassing as we are the fourth team they have taken points off.I am over the moon to be in third at this moment in time but it is far too close as three points separate the top five.

July brings us three more games, two are in the league while the other is in the Piala Indonesia. In the league we are facing PSM Makassar and Persiba Balikpapan, both teams are struggling so I want to win both games to keep the pressure on at the top.No idea who we are facing in the Piala Indonesia as the draw hasn't been made but I want a good run as I want to at least get to the quarter finals to surpass last season's fourth round exit.

Manager's Thoughts

It wasn't a difficult month on paper and we proved that as we won both league games which saw us move up to third place and we progressed in the Piala Indonesia with a 4-1 win over Perseden Denpasar.During July I have made two signings which will arrive on the first of August, first up we have a DC from Persebaya Surabaya who will be pushing for first team games as he is that good but has been overlooked due to them having better players. The second player coming in is a left winger from Persib Bandung, again he has been overlooked by his team as they have better players but he will be second choice here behind our Chilean AML.

We have four more games in August, three in the league and one in the Piala Indonesia. In the league we are facing two weaker teams in Persiwa Wamena and Semen Padang in which I am pretty confident we can get results in those games. The big league game comes against second place Persib Bandung,we are one point behind them but I know they have a better quality side than we do,if I am being optimistic then I think we can get a draw as we are the home side.I have no idea who we face in the Piala Indonesia, all I can hope is that we win the fixture to move onto the next round.

Manager's Thoughts

That was a really surprising month as we picked up seven points from nine in the league which has seen us move up to first in the league. It was completely unexpected as I wasn't expecting to get a draw against Persib Bandung as we managed four shots against them in the entire game in,the scorer Hidayat is the winger I signed from them so that can be considered a bit of a slap in the face for Persib Bandung. We also made progress in the Piala Indonesia but our performance was below par as we struggled to get past Madura Utd.

September is a busy month as we play seven times, five in the league and two in the Piala Indonesia. The league games will see if I can be considered a real contender for the league as we face both Putra Samarinda and Persebaya Surabaya,if we can win at least one of those games then we should be real title challengers but I've generally struggled against the bigger teams,we should be able to pick up some sort of result in the other league games as the teams we face are eighth and below in the  league. In the Piala Indonesia we are facing Persiraja Banda Aceh in a two legged affair, they are in the division below and are flying high so I am expecting two difficult games but I think we should be able to see them off.

Manager's Thoughts

Well my unbeaten run didn't just end,it got annihilated, that 7-1 loss to Persebaya Surabaya is my heaviest defeat in the save and it surpassed the 5-0 loss to Cruz Azul when I was Atlanta Utd's manager (that one was more painful as it was the CONCACAF Champions League final second leg!).Despite losing 7-1 to Persebaya Surabaya,we still sit above them in the league as we are in second place as we picked up ten points from fifteen which has left us in second place. As for the Piala Indonesia,we have made it to the fourth round where we are 1-0 down to Persib Bandung, that actually isn't too bad as we were away from home so we are still in the tie,we are also on course to better last seasons 6-3 aggregate defeat against Persib Bandung at the same stage so that is a plus!

We play six times in October, five in the league and one in the Piala Indonesia. We have a couple of tough games in the league as we face Persib Bandung and PSIS Semerang, they are two of the better teams in Indonesia and I do not want a repeat of the Pesebaya Surabaya game, the other three matches are winnable so I think nine points is a realistic aim.In the Piala Indonesia we play Persib Bandung in the second leg,we are at home this time so I think we can give them a good game and it's possible we can surprise them,if we are to go out again against them then I want to do it kicking and screaming.

I'm still not over losing 7-1 to them and I was really happy that I didn't have to face them again this season, then comes along the Piala Indonesia to ruin my happiness as I have to face Persebaya Surabaya twice more this season.

Just leave me alone!!!

Manager's Thoughts

I think that 7-1 loss has given the players the boot up the ass they needed as we performed much better than we have done since July.We picked up thirteen points from fifteen in the league which saw us move into first place, the 2-2 draw against Persib Bandung looks good on paper but in reality it was actually embarrassing as they were playing with ten from the 16th minute! For the Piala Indonesia, we overturned the 1-0 deficit against Persib Bandung as we won the second leg 4-1 to give us a 4-2 aggregate victory. The quarter finals then saw us beat PSS Sieman 7-4 on aggregate, the second wasn't great but we got the win in the end.

November brings us seven more games, five in the league and two in the Piala Indonesia. The league games wouldn't normally too difficult but the top teams have started losing to mid-table teams as of late and we face three mid-table teams and two teams fighting at the bottom of the table,we will need to be at our absolute best if we are to stay at the top as things are getting frantic. For the Piala Indonesia,we face Persebaya Surabaya,my aim is to do better than losing 7-1 again,I don't really want to be conceding seven over two legs,I am not expecting to win this but having the pressure eased off us could be more beneficial.

Manager's Thoughts

Well our form in November has completely thrown the race for the league title up in the air.We picked up eight points from fifteen which has seen us somehow finish the month in second but all the teams around us have a game in hand on us which means we could be six points behind Persib Bandung if they win their game in hand on us.The defence has been extremely worrying as it has just become a mess in the last few months, unfortunately with that I'd have to overhaul my tactics which I don't really want to do at this point in the season. As for the Piala Indonesia semi-final,we went out 3-1 on aggregate to Persebaya Surabaya,we played a lot better than in previous encounters against them but we will still no match for them.

We have three games left to play in December,we will be facing Barito Putera,Semen Padang and Pusamania Borneo in the league. If we are to win the title then we have to win all three games and hope for slip ups from Persib Bandung. If we slip up even once then that is pretty much it for our title chances.

Youth Intake Preview

That is a very long list for an intake preview but the key line of it all is "This is an excellent group if players coming through".If it could live up to that then I will be very happy, seeing us get a goalkeeper through is something I really want as I can count on one hand the number of keepers better than ours which shows how little choice there is for keepers.

Manager's Thoughts

We finished the season in style as won all three games in December which also saw us keep two clean sheets in the progress but in the end it wasn't enough as Persib Bandung won three out of their four games to win the title, the game they lost was the last game of the season which is a bit annoying but our defence cost us in the last few months as we dropped points in games where we really should have won.

End of Season update to follow then onto 2037 and the Champions League we go.

Persita Tanderang - Liga Super Indonesia - End of Season - 2036

General - Vision - Facilities - Finances - Financial Summary

Season Review

Transfers - Released - Youth

Not a lot going on when it came to outgoings as two players left the club on free transfers while three others left on loan which were for developmental reasons. The incoming side of things saw us sign 12 players for £41k as I wanted to add better quality to the team, the two players at the end who we signed from Persib Bandung and Persebaya  Surabaya is the way things could be as I will need to look at high potential players and develop them whereas those two clubs sign the best players and not give their youngsters the chance which makes it easier for us to sign them,

Liga Super Indonesia - 2nd Place

I am over the moon with finishing in second place as we played out of our skin,I was hoping to finish in the top five and possibly sneak into the top four but we managed to go better than that as we finished three points being Persib Bandung who had the title wrapped up before we even played the last game. Not a bad season considering we lost 7-1 to Persebaya Surabaya!

PIala Indonesia  - Semi-Finals

7adbafd7050f34f43223480037a639df.png

Despite what the board confidence says, this was a really good run as we reached the semi-finals before we lost 3-1 on aggregate to Persebaya Surabaya. The board confidence is a bug as the expectations for the competition were a top half finish and that isn't possible in a cup competition!

Manager's Thoughts

What a season that was,we may not have won anything but I like to think we made a statement this season in that we are here and we will be aiming high for seasons to come.To think we would come in second and make it to the semi-finals of the Piala Indonesia shows you what a bit of quality can bring to the team after finishing in 9th in 2035,okay I did bring in the equivalent to a full starting eleven but I did what I needed to as I wanted to see improvement in the team. The financial side of things is a bit worrying as we are sat at £101k and that is after receiving £361k for coming second, this should improve in the future as we are competing in the Champions League so that should bring in extra income via gate receipts as I doubt we will receive much from the results as we will be outclassed.

I would like to carry on with the improvement from this season,I have already arranged transfers for a new central defender and a 18 year old MC who has already been capped fully by Indonesia despite never playing for the under 20's!I won't be able to do anything with the facilities,Junior Coaching or Youth Recruitment due to the finances being poor here so from this point it would only be minor improvements to the team and with all it will take is a bit of luck to win the title. However, there could be a bit of plot twist here in Indonesia,Persebaya Suraybaya job could become available as the manager's security is very insecure, they have the best setup alongside Persib Bandung so it would be a step up from a club of this size.Just remember,I said I wanted to win the Champions League with a club within a nation,I never said that I couldn't move clubs in that nation!

General - Vision - Facilities - Finances

Season Preview - Expectations

Transfers - Released - Youth

Two players left on free transfers to join other clubs, neither player was used so I was more than happy to get their wages off the books,Nanda Soyfan was a similar story as I didn't use so when a offer came in then I had no problem in accepting and reducing the amount we pay in wages.Khoerudin was sent on loan for developmental reasons and we get paid so that is a win-win!Just the two players came in,Siahann is more then good enough for our first team but due to where he was,he was overlooked for better players. As for Muhammad Dio,all of last seasons top four were after him and we got him.I'm not even joking when I say he is Indonesia's brightest prospect,if he can reach his potential then there is the possiblilty that we could sell him for quite a bit in the future.

Pre-Season Fixtures

Due to the situation of being in the Champions League,I could not find anyone who would play us this early as the friendlies don't seem to start till March in Indonesia. How annoying!

Manager's Thoughts

Well I am still here as the job at Persebaya Surabaya never came up as their board decided to have faith in their current manager. Not a lot to say as we have a early start to the season due to our participation in the Group Stage of the Champions League,I made two signings which add a bit of quality to the side as I want to carry on pushing at the top despite the fact that the board only want a top half finish so I am confident that we can meet those expectations.Thankfully the board aren't expecting anything in the Champions League and only want us to be competitive which I still think is a challenge with the group we have,I wish I had Persib Bandung's group as they have a slight chance of qualifying from their group.

The finances are dire but there isn't really anything I can do about that as there is very little interest in any players of ours, the sponsorships have actually decreased which is really annoying so I have to hope for a increase in the average attendance as that seems to be our best bet at bring money into the club. There is a but of good news for Indonesia in general as well as potentially us,the league rep has moved up to 15th and the prize money has increased by £24k,it doesn't seem a lot but it is an increase and shows things are going in the right direction as this is the first time in this save that 1st place will be awarded more than £400k!

How the hell did we come out of that game with a win?We were not the better team in the game and we somehow managed to score three goals from four shots on target. We can count ourselves lucky though as you can see that Jeonbuk had two goals disallowed,I was over the moon at potentially getting a draw but our Target Man Jaya put me into disbelief with his late winner.

We have two more competitive games in March as we face Beijing Guoan at home and travel to Australia to face Central Coast Mariners at.Like with the Jeonbuk match,I am not expecting anything but I think our best chance of getting something will be against Central Coast Mariners,I will be happy if we can pick up a point from these two games.

Manager's Thoughts

This is a really good intake as I was expecting about two or three players who could eventually push for a place in the first team, what I got was six players who could potentially push for first team action which is amazing,Obiviously Bagus Wibowo is the stand out player of the bunch but my problem is I don't usually use a ML so I will need to get him on AML positional training to get him up from unconvincing in the AML role.I also really like this intake for the roles as we got a goalkeeper, three players who can cover the back four a ML and a ST so I can say that the youth intake preview of being an excellent group of players despite all the yellow sentences was actually true!

Manager's Thoughts

As you can see,we won both Champions League team without being the best in either game using a 4-4-2.This has actually put us at the top of the table with three games left to play which is an amazing feat.It is completely unexpected and it means more money for us but even with the extra money from winning games,we have still found ourselves in debt at the end of March which is worrying. There has also been a lot of rumours of potential takeovers so I am thankful that my transfer business is done as that means there won't be any problems if the boad does end up in talks with someone.

April sees the domestic season kick off so we will be playing six times, four in the league and two in the Champions League.I want us to get off to a good start in the league but the quality of teams is quite mixed as we face two teams that are probably going to be at the foot of the table, one team who should be around mid-table and Persebaya Sayabura in which I am relieved to get rid of that one early on.In the Champions League we are facing Jeonbuk and Central Coast Mariners at home,I will probably be going with the 4-4-2 which has worked in the Champions League so far,we are in a good position so hopefully we can win one of the two games which could possibly see us through to the next round.

Manager's Thoughts

It's been a fantastic start to the season as we won all four games which included a narrow 1-0 victory over Persebaya Surabaya which is a much improved performance on last seasons 7-1 defeat to them in the same fixture. As for the Champions League,we got slaughtered against Jeonbuk and it could have easily been five or six for the opposition.the win against Central Coast Mariners was surprising but Qarimov went off on one and netted four times which led us to victory and kept us at the top.I've actually started this season with the 4-4-2 tactic I have been using in the Champions League,it has been a case of so far so good.

Six games in May,five in the league and one in the Champions League. It's a tough month as we face Persib Bandung,Putra Samarinda and Barito Putera,I really do not want to face them all in one month but on the flip side, they will be out of the way which is great as I won't have to worry about them till the second half of the season. For the Champions League we are facing Beijing Guoan in the final group game,no matter what the result, they cannot finish above us which is remarkable,we could finish top if we can somehow get a draw but that is highly unlikely as we are away to them so it will be a very tough game.

Manager's Thoughts

I am over the moon with our performance in the league as we on four out of five league games which saw us finish the month at the top of the table, our loss came against one of the three who I noted were our toughest opponents,it was a narrow loss so it's nothing to be annoyed about,I was more annoyed with the 6-3 win against PSIS Semarang as all three of the oppositions goals came in the last twenty minutes! For the Champions League we finished top of the group despite the loss to Beijing as Jeonbuk drew their last game,we gave it a good go in the second round but fell short as we went out 4-2 on aggregate,I was slightly annoyed with the second lef but that is because of the ref showing bias towards the host, that was also noted in the summary you get in the inbox!

June is a really quiet month as we play twice,we will be facing Persija Jakarta and Madura Utd,I would love nothing more than to keep our run going and it should be possible as both teams are around the mid-table area so we should be able to win those games.I will also be keeping an eye out on Pesebaya Surabaya as they are second favourites to win the league but look where they are,it could be interesting as they have a lot of money for Indonesia and have one of the best setups in the country so it could be worth a gamble and going there if the job becomes available.

Manager's Thoughts

It was a simple straight forward month for us as we played twice and won twice which is what I was expecting as we were playing two mid-table sides. We showed that we were the dominant side in both games as we controlled both games. We have a two point lead at the top over Persib Bandung, they are a monster of a side so I am expecting them to be fighting with ourselves for the title for the rest of the season.

There are only three games in July so it's another quiet month,we play twice in the league and once in the Piala Indonesia. In the league we will be facing Persiraja Banda Aceh and Sriwijaya FC,with where both teams are in the league,we should be winning both games but I can't afford to underestimate them as Persib Bandung are right behind us and any slip ups from us could beenfit them. For the Piala Indonesia I have no idea who we are facing as the draw hasn't been made yet and if it is like last season then I won't find out till the week before I am supposed to play the game!

July will be taking a bit longer despite playing less games. With being in 2037,I will be looking for any real players left in the game and creating a shortlist as I want to see who the last real player standing is!

Manager's Thoughts

That month went as planned as we beat the two sides and gave the bottom side Bayangkara a thumping they won't forget,we're still only two points ahead of Persib Bandung but I am expecting it to be a two horse race for the rest of the season. We were given a lower league team in the Piala Indonesia,we dominated through the game and probably should of scored more than five. This month has left be in disbelief,I am in disbelief all the time I spent in South Africa,South Korea,Australia and a season and half in Indonesia where we conceded goals left right and centre while using all these fancy formations and a 4-4-2 has produced this performance this season!

Four more games in August, three in the league and one in the Piala Indonesia. We do have a tricky game in the league as we face fifth place Persik Kediri but we also play Persiraja Banda Aceh and Sriwijaya so we should be able to pick up at least six points although ideally we need to equal or better Persib Bandung's performance as any slip ups from either side now could be costly for them.As for the Piala Indonesia, again I have no clue about who we will be facing as the draw hasn't been made yet but I want to progress further so a win is a must.

Manager's Thoughts

I said it would take one slip up and things could take a turn for the worse and that is what happened. Our 3-0 loss to Persik Kediri was all our own doing as we fluffed far too many chances and Persik Kediri took advantage of that in the second half as they showed us how to be clinical and with Persib Bandung winning,we are now one point behind in the league. We had no problems in the other two games and we easily beat Persegi Bali in the Piala Indonesia which is a plus so I am happy with that. This season is giving me serious vibes of the Liverpool/Man City title run of 2018/19!

We play seven times in September, five in the league and two in the Piala Indonesia. The league games are with teams who are 7th and below so I am hoping that 3-0 loss to Persik Kediri will give us a kick up the ass and that we can better Persib Bandung's performance in September,I think realistically we need to be aiming for thirteen points to keep the pressure at the top and that tally is doable. In the Piala Indonesia we are facing Arema Cronus in a two legged affair,I am hoping we can win this tie as I want to go further in the competition.

Manager's Thoughts

We went through September unbeaten although we met my target of thirteen points during the month. The game we dropped points in was against Persija Jakarta,we could played each other for another ninety minutes and neither team would of scored as both teams were awful in attack. If things couldn't get any closer at the top,Persib Bandung lost to Persipura Jayapura which means we sit at the top of the league by three points but we have played a game more than Persib Bandung.I'm really happy with our performance in the Piala Indonesia as we knocked out Arema Cronus and Barito Putera to reach the quarter finals.

October sees the games continue to come at us thick and fast as we play seven times, five times in the league and two in the Piala Indonesia. We are facing two top half teams in which the hardest of these games is against Barito Putera and we play three lower placed teams which include Sirwijaya and PSIS Semarang,I am hoping we can carry on our run but it will still be tight at the top as Persib Bandung will be with us all the way.In the Piala Indonesia we are facing PSIS Semarang,we should have enough about us to beat them and get to the semi-finals.

Manager's Thoughts

What a month that was as we won all five league league games which has seen us open up a nine point lead at the top of the table and with eight games left to play the finish line is in sight. The wins against Persipura Jayapura and Baito Putera were massive as we need to get as many points as possible off the bigger teams as that will increase our chances of landing the title. The Piala Indonesia saw PSIS Semarang give us a good fight in the first leg as it finished 2-2 but we showed them how strong we were as won 3-0 on the night to give us a 5-2 aggregate victory.

We play six time in November, four are league games and two are in the Piala Indonesia. It really is make or break for us in the league as we face both Persib Bandung and Persebaya Surabaya in the league,if we can win both of these games then that will be a massive step towards the title,we also play two lesser teams in which we should win but I really want to win the two big games to show that we deserve the title if we win it.In the Piala Indonesia we are facing Persebaya Surabaya in the semi-finals and it is a rematch of last year's semi-final so I want revenge against them and I believe we can do so but we will beed to be at our absolute best to get through.

Manager's Thoughts

I am delighted to say that we are firmly in the driving seat for the title after three wins out of four in the league have left us nine points ahead of our nearest title rival and with four games left to play,we are nearly over the finishing line!I have no complaints about the defeat to Persib Bandung as they were the better team and as much as it hurts met to say this,we didn't deserve anything from the game.We have also made it to the final of the Piala Indonesia after we beat Persebaya Surabaya 5-4 on aggregate and we have the away leg victory over them to thank for getting to the final,we really should of won the second leg but we conceded the equalizer in the 95th minute!

We're going into the final month of the season with six games left to play and the potential to win two trophies. Our final league games are against Putra Samarinda,Persik Kediri,PSM Makassar and PSIR Rembang, the first two games are pretty tough but if we can win two of the four remaining league games then the title will be ours and we should be able to do that due to games against the latter two teams. We have reached the final of the Piala Indonesia and we will be playing a two legged tie against Persib Bandung,it really could not get any tougher than that but we will be giving it our best shot against them. For me the league is prioirty while the Piala Indonesia will be an additional bonus.

Manager's Thoughts

We netted one of the two trophies as we lifted the league title. We achieved three wins out of four with the loss against Putra Samarinda coming from a penalty but it didn't matter in the end as we won the title in the next league game against Persik Kediri,we won our last two games which meant we won the title by eight points.Persib Bandung did get a bit of revenege as they beat us in the final of the Piala Indonesia which means it's one a piece in the competitions and we will face each other in the Community Shield next year.

End of Season update to follow then onto 2038 we go!

Persita Tangerang - Liga Super Indonesia - End of Season - 2037

General - Vision - Facilities - Finances - Financial Summary

Transfers - Released - Youth

Two players left on a free transfer to other clubs as they were not going to get their contracts renewed,we sold two players for a combined fee of £5.3k as Sofyan and Rumaropen were both surplus to requirements so I decided to cash in on them before their contracts expired.Four players went out on loan, these were all developmental loans as they could have some future at the club.Just the two players came in,Siahaan is a versatile defender who wasn't getting much game time at Persebaya Surabaya but would be a regular starter while DIo is Indonesia's brightest prospect and we got him ahead of both Persebaya Surabaya and Persib Bandung.

Liga Super Indonesia - Winners

What a season that was as we clinched the league title by eight points over Persib Bandung.I went back to basics as we used a 4-4-2 formation but I did use a gegenpress style.I owe a very large part of out success to the partnership of Jaya and Qarimov who netted forty six times between them.

Asian Champions League - 2nd Round

What a performance we put in the Champions League as we reached the 2nd Round at our first attempt. We entered at the Group Stage and topped a group which contained Jeonbuk Hyundai,Beijing Guoan and Central Coast Mariners with a record of 4-0-2,the losses were against Jeonbuk and Beijing. As for the second round we bowed out with a respectable 4-2 aggregate defeat against Al-Hilal,we drew the first leg but the second leg saw nothing go our way as the ref showed bias to them as we lost 3-1.

Piala Indonesia - Runners-Up

We had a fantastic run this season as we reached the final where we fell short against Persib Bandung, in the final, the first leg saw a 1-1 draw which was a perfectly fair result as both teams had 10 shots with four on target but Persib Bandung won the second leg as they lifted the trophy. At least I can still say I lifted the more reputable trophy!

Manager's Thoughts

What a season that was as we lifted the league title, came runner up in the Piala Indonesia and gave ourselves a very good first impression in the Champions League as we reached the second round before bowing out.To think of all these times I have struggled with conceding goals,I really should of just used a 4-4-2 formation like I did this season!Winning the league title has helped with the financial side a bit as we were rewarded with £401k although we did lose £200k of that to bonuses but the finances are sitting at £291k which is a solid start for us,it isn't enough to ask for upgrades yet but that should be enough to have the transfer and wage budget increase to try and attract better quality players to the club.

For next season I would like more of the same domestic as I want to challenge for the title again and challenge for the Piala Indonesia or possibly even win it,the Champions League is one I can't make a comment about how far I want to go as that really depends on the group I get as it is in the realm of possibility to draw all three of my previous teams in the same group! We will also be playing in the Community Shield against Persib Bandung and I do want to win that as that would be an extra £73k in the bank. For strengthening the team,I have already arranged a transfer for a MR but I have seen a goalkeeper I really want and I am making him my priority target as he plays for Persipura Jayapura so we should be able to sign him.

Champions League Draw

We should beat the team from Myanmar with little problem as we have strengthened the team.Adelaide and Guangzhou will be interesting encounters,Adelaide Utd are a bigger team than Central Coast Mariners who we beat twice last year but Guangzhou Evergrande are nowhere near the level of Beijing who were in the same group last season so we do stand a chance of going through.
