I shifted £120,000 into scouting budget, set scouting package to World (enough money for two months worth) and he appeared on Player Search screen.

Nice. But didn't know you could sign young non-English players. I thought they needed to get a work permit?

He has a work permit.  It was approved.

The game seems to grant work permits to anyone whose last club were playing in a top five European league (England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany) or Brazil and Argentina.  Once I can afford to spend World scouting permanently, I intend to scout every single player in Brazil and South America as they always seem to get work permits.

End of Season Review

Season 2024/25

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

A season of heartbreak as we failed to secure promotion by losing in the promotion playoff semi final.  We were decent enough in the cups, though this is scant consolation.

Season Details

League Table - A third place finish is decent enough though we are capable of so much more.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We started slowly as we drew far too many games.  As a result, we fell short of automatic promotion and had to settle for the promotion playoffs.

Promotion Playoffs - A dreadful first leg performance away to Blackpool put paid to any chance we had of going up.  We eventually lost three two on aggregate and we stay down for at least another season.

F. A. Cup - A third round loss away to top flight Southampton ended our interest in the cup for another year.

Carabao Cup - A tremendous run was ended at the fourth round stage by Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in London.  We only lost on penalties as we pushed them all the way.  In the previous round, we were magnificent in knocking out Chelsea.

Papa John's Trophy - Once again, we topped our group, though we didn't go on and retain our trophy, as Blackpool defeated us in a penalty shout out in the third round, after a goalless draw.

Pre Season Friendlies - A longer campaign than usual, with fourteen matches and the fact we only lost twice, was very pleasing.

Squad - A terrific squad that really should of gone up automatically.

Squad Dynamics - I get bored of saying just how good this is.

Transfers In 1, 2 & 3 - I once again brought in a fair few new faces as I considerably strengthened the squad.

Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - A huge number of players departed on loan and we also sold quite a few.  Five of the sales were for seven figures.

Youth Candidates - Not the best intake this year.  Goalkeeper Jack Williams YP25A26 is supposedly the best of the group.

Finances - Largely thanks to player sales, we have a very healthy bank balance.

Key Players

Willie Beattie YP22A1 - The Scottish striker continues going from strength to strength.  I am not sure how long we can hold onto him for to be honest.

Morgan Fox - Veteran left back signed on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest.  He led the team and was a vital cog in our defence.

Malachi Fagan-Walcott - Also signed on a free transfer, this time from Tottenham Hotspur, the central defender was in and out of the side due to his inconsistency.

Ian Fitzgerald - An exceptional campaign from the teenage centre back, signed on loan from Aston Villa.

Antonio Peláez - Another teenage loanee, the Spanish left winger signed for a season from Manchester City and  was terrific all year.

Next Season

We need to take the next step and secure a top two position and automatic promotion.

Met Police - Premier League - 2072/73

With João Pereira retired it was time to look to the future with a new man leading the line for the club.

League Table - three losses but we still hit our 100 point target.

Community Shield - it took a penalty to decide this one.

League Cup - no one looked like beating us in a favourable run to the final.

FA Cup - this run wasn't quite so simple.

UEFA Champions League - an unbeaten season in Europe.

Squad - it's not perfect, but we have two great players for every position.

Transfers - the only transfers happened at the end of last season, where I swapped a pair of wingers.

Finances - a big loss, due to the transfers.

Key Player Profiles:

Ben Wade - top scorer, although I was expecting a little more from him.

Shin Sang-Il - the supporting striker is our MVP.

Andros Sotiriou - one of three youth products to make it big.

A season of triumph, where promotion was secured with eight games to go and we had tremendous runs in all the cups.

Season Details

League Table - Once top, winning the title and securing promotion was never in doubt.

League Fixtures 1, 2 & 3  - We were so consistent, winning time after time.

F. A. Cup - A fantastic competition where we reached the quarter final for the first time.  Two up at half time against Liverpool and I thought the semi final beckoned.  Alas, it wasn't to be as the Merseysiders rallied and won by three goals to two, with the winner coming in injury time.

Carabao Cup - What a run!  We dispatched both Liverpool and Manchester United before being outclassed by Chelsea over two legs in the semi final.

Papa John's Trophy - We once again topped our group and made it all the way to the final where we played Cambridge United.  We eventually won after extra time, despite dominating the whole match.

Pre Season Friendlies - For the first time, we were undefeated in our pre season campaign.

Squad - We have good depth and we have a huge budget to significantly improve too.

Squad Dynamics - Exceptional.  As always.

Transfers In 1 & 2 - The club transfer record was broken as I spent only a fraction of the funds that were brought in.

Transfers Out 1, 2, 3 & 4 - Well, what to say?  A lot of players left on loan and no fewer than seven players left for fees of over £1m, including four at £10m or over, with Wolves spending £30m for three of our best first team youngsters.

Youth Candidates - With goalkeeper Lloyd Danaher YP26F39 being the best on offer, it is safe to say this was a mediocre intake.

Finances - Due to the player sales, we have a lot of cash.

Key Players

James Hurtado - The Colombian goalkeeper was much better this year and a key reason why we won so many games.

Álvaro Menezes - Portuguese centre back originally signed on loan from Leeds United, but then they only wanted a transfer fee of £1m to make the move permanent, it was a no brainer.

Thomas Bohr - The twenty year old German central midfielder arrived on a free transfer from RB Leipzig.  He took time to settle, though his performances improved towards the end of the season.

Ian Fitzgerald - Another stellar year at the back from the Aston Villa loanee.

Uwe Dill - Teenage German defensive midfielder signed on loan for the year from RB Leipzig.  He really rose to the occasion and was an automatic selection.

Next Season

I honestly have no idea what to expect.  A playoff place perhaps?

He has a work permit.  It was approved.

The game seems to grant work permits to anyone whose last club were playing in a top five European league (England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany) or Brazil and Argentina.  Once I can afford to spend World scouting permanently, I intend to scout every single player in Brazil and South America as they always seem to get work permits.

That is really weird.

I'm trying to sign a Swedish player. He last played for Watford but his WP was turned down as he didn't play more than 40% of games for his country and didn't have enough points.

End of Season Review

Season 2026/27

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

An excellent year with promotion to the Premier League secured.  We were not as good in the cups, though this didn't dampen our achievements.

Season Details

League Table - On the last day of the season, we played Southampton at home, with the winner securing the title.  Unfortunately, we produced one of our worst performances of the season and had to settle for the runners up spot.

League Fixtures 1, 2 & 3 - We made a slow start though we then started churning out the wins.

F. A. Cup - There was no heroics this year as a narrow loss away to top flight Wolverhampton Wanderers saw the club eliminated at the fourth round stage.

Carabao Cup - We progressed to the fourth round before losing at home to Liverpool in an eight goal thriller.

Pre Season Friendlies - Another successful pre season campaign as, even though we were not unbeaten this year, we did only lose the once.

Squad - We have so much quality and because they are so young, they will only ever improve.

Squad Dynamics - What can I say?  It is lovely.

Transfers In 1, 2 & 3 - With so much budget available, I broke the transfer record several times.

Transfers Out 1 & 2 - Over £25m was raised through player sales.

Youth Candidates - A fantastic intake with Romanian winger Darius Zaharia YP27A42 looking like a real star in the making.

Finances - Our cash reserves may be almost gone, but the Premier league money is about to start rolling in.

Key Players

Stefano Badalotti - The Italian Under 21 international central defender signed from Atalanta for a club record £10m and proved to be an astute acquisition.

Emmanuel Gray - Left back, originally signed on loan from Manchester City, the move was made permanent in January for a transfer fee of £7.5m.

Manuel De la Iglesia - Teenage Argentine who only arrived in January and has already made his mark.  He cost just £1m from Independiente.

Dane Scarlett - Striker who signed on loan for a season from Tottenham Hotspur.  He is far too good for the Championship and played well all season.

Harvey Vale - Versatile attacking midfielder who can play on either wing, signed on loan for a season from Chelsea, two years after he was previously at the club.

Next Season

I would be delighted with a safe, mid table finish.

Met Police - Premier League - 2073/74

Last season we looked like we were back to our best, but the squad needed work for the future.

League Table - we had a really poor start and fell well short of our target.

Community Shield - it needed a really late winner.

UEFA Super Cup - a nervy ending was finished with two late goals.

FIFA Club World Cup - key goals at the end of both halves sealed it.

League Cup - not the biggest of names on our route to lifting the cup.

FA Cup - a player I sold came back to haunt us.

UEFA Champions League - Portsmouth came close to shocking us again.

Squad - no weaknesses, but still room for improvement.

Transfers more transfers - a lot of action as I sold on a lot of our older players.

Finances - the transfers have put us in debt, but hopefully this won't last long.

Key Player Profiles:

Ben Wade - joint top scorer, but my big hope isn't quite living up to expectations.

Dennis Bierofka - the forgotten man, this youth product could be my best striker after all.

Gustavo Alexandre - our MVP.

End of Season Review

Season 2027/28

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

A tough season where we found the step up difficult.  We did survive, though we were in relegation trouble for much of the campaign.

Season Details

League Table - We were in the bottom three for most of the year and only climbed out of the danger zone with a handful of games remaining.  Survival was assured with a match to spare.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - After losing ten of our opening twelve league games, I knew we were in for a long, hard season.

F. A. Cup - We were outclassed by Manchester United at home in the fifth round which saw the club eliminated.

Carabao Cup - We made it through to the quarter final before losing at Manchester City.

Pre Season Friendlies - A two all draw at home to Scottish giants Rangers was the only game we didn't win as we nearly had a perfect pre season campaign.

Squad - I honestly feel we are better than our season showed.

Squad Dynamics - Good enough, especially after such a tough year.

Transfers In 1 & 2 - We once again broke our transfer record as more quality youngsters were brought in to develop.

Transfers Out 1, 2, 3 & 4 - I oversaw a huge clearout of academy graduates who I don't feel will make it, together with a few fringe players departing and the usual plethora of loans.

Youth Candidates - Not the best intake though Welsh central defender Glyn Lynch YP28E56 looks like a decent prospect.

Finances - We are in the black, though I expected the balance to be higher.  Our limited capacity is restricting us.

Key Players

Angus Gunn - The veteran goalkeeper kept us in many games.

Gilmax - One of the best players at the club, the Brazilian defensive midfielder is a vital player for us.

Jøren Groven - The Norwegian international centre back had a fine campaign since his £6.5m transfer from Manchester United.

Gerald Soldevilla - Teenage Spaniard who signed for the club from Barcelona for a transfer fee of £6m in January.  Playing on the left wing, he settled in quickly.

Dane Scarlett - Another decent campaign from the striker, on loan from Tottenham.  He did struggle somewhat to find the net for long periods.

Next Season

I would like to survive comfortably and not be in relegation trouble.

End of Season Review

Season 2028/29

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

A satisfying season of mid table mediocrity, with an F. A. Cup run to enjoy too.

Season Details

League Table - We were never in trouble and didn't threaten either a European place or relegation.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We are still inconsistent as we win games we shouldn't and lose when we should win.  Our home form continues to be a worry.

F. A. Cup - A good cup run as we made it through to the quarter final beflore losing narrowly at home to Tottenham Hotspur by a score of one goal to nil.

Carabao Cup - Very disappointing as the club crashed out away to fellow Premier League outfit Derby County.  We went out at the first time of asking, in the second round.

Pre Season Friendlies - An exceptional pre season campaign where we were unbeaten, winning all matches except two, which were both draws.

Squad - We now have so much quality.  We really should be challenging for a European place.

Squad Dynamics - Everyone loves everyone else.

Transfers In 1 & 2 - I broke the transfer record several times as we brought some real quality into the club.

Transfers Out 1, 2, 3 & 4 - Despite the huge outlay, we actually brought more money into the club through player sales, including a huge sale of £60m.

Youth Candidates - With French central midfielder Abel Mubarak YP29A64 being the best player of the group this year, it is obvious this intake is not very good.

Finances - We have plenty of cash as we continue to make money.

Key Players

Gilmax - One of five Brazilians in the first team squad, the defensive midfielder had another good season.

Gerard Soldevilla - The left winger was good enough, though he now has some real competition for his place in the team.

Leandro Mathias - The Brazilian central defender arrived before the season for a club record transfer fee of £22m.  He had an exceptional year.

Nemanja Stojanov - Serbian attacking midfielder who signed from Partizan Belgrade for a transfer fee of just £10m and immediately became one of our main attacking threats.

Derik Gean - Another of our Brazilian contingent, the striker cost just £4.5m from Fluminense.  He had a decent enough campaign.

Next Season

We should be challenging for  a European place, so that is the goal.

End of Season Review

Season 2029/30

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

By qualifying for the Champions League and also making our first major cup final, it was a very successful season.

Season Details

League Table - Once we were in the top four, we never left and qualified for the Champions League.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were very consistent and churned out the wins.

F. A. Cup - A dreadful performance at home to Southampton eliminated the club at the first hurdle, at the third round stage.

Carabao Cup - We reached our first major cup final as we progressed all the way to Wembley, before losing on penalties to Manchester United after we shared a six goal thriller.

Pre Season Friendlies - A perfect pre season as we won all twelve matches.

Squad - We have so much quality and the squad is still so young.

Squad Dynamics - Everyone still loves everyone else.

Transfers In 1 & 2 - For the first time, we spent more than we raised as I once again broke the club transfer record.

Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - Over £60m was raised in sales and plenty of youngsters went out on loan.

Youth Candidates - It was another very poor intake with Welsh left back Kris Bradley YP30A70 supposedly the best of the bunch, though I just don't see it.

Finances - We are in the red, though the Premier League winnings are not in yet, plus we have agreed to the sale of two players.

Key Players

Gerard Soldevilla - The Spaniard is still plying his trade on the left wing and is a perfect foil for Nemanja Stojanov.

Leandro Mathias - It was another stellar campaign from the Brazilian central defender.

Nemanja Stojanov - The best player at the club, the Serbian right winger is vital to the success we have had.

Sebastian Juárez - Argentinian striker who had a fabulous campaign.

Ratko Milić - The second Serbian at the club, the goalkeeper made the number one slot his own.

Next Season

The goal is to win in our first major trophy.  We are in four competitions and I will focus on them all.

End of Season Review

Season 2030/31

FC United of Manchester

F.C. United of Manchester - Wikipedia

Season Summary

An incredible season as, despite never being in the running for the league title, we won the Champions League in our debut season and also reached the final of the F. A. Cup.

Season Details

Champions League - A sensational debut in the Champions League as we not only topped our group by winning all six games, we went all the way and won the competition, easily beating Italian giants Juventus in the final.

League Table - We started like a train though soon dropped back and settled for fourth place.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We won our first five games though we couldn't maintain it.

F. A. Cup - We made our first ever F. A. Cup final and despite being two goals up at half time, we lost by the odd goal in a seven goal thriller against Tottenham Hotspur, as they forced extra time.

Carabao Cup - A loss on penalties at home to Manchester City saw the club eliminated at the fourth round stage.

Pre Season Friendlies - Another perfect pre season campaign as we won all eleven games.

Squad - We have so much quality, we just to stop dropping silly points.

Squad Dynamics - As lovely as ever.

Transfers In 1 & 2 - Just the seven new arrivals though over £70m was spent.

Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - We still managed to raise more from sales as over £80m was raised in player sales as fringe players were let go.

Youth Candidates - Another poor intake though Mykal Dawkins YP31A75 looks like he has a chance of making the grade.

Finances - We are rolling in cash.  I intend to spend as much as I possibly can to win more trophies.

Key Players

Nemanja Stojanov - The Serbian is a world class right winger.

Sebastian Juárez - He continues to improve and the Argentinian striker is one of the best in the league.

Gilmax - The Brazilian is now the club record holder for league appearances.

Janderson - The Brazilian number one has quickly settled into life in England.

Rens Van de Velde - A sensational campaign from the Belgian international defender.

Next Season

The obvious goal is to win the league title and complete the challenge.

Met Police - Premier League - 2074/75

We have been back to our best, despite the squad having a few weak spots.

League Table - we drew far too many games.

Community Shield - we needed penalties to win.

UEFA Super Cup - we sealed this with two late goals.

League Cup - we destroyed everyone.

FA Cup - the final was a classic.

UEFA Champions League - we weren't at our best, but we won it with penalties.

Squad - we've got some great young players but the squad is lacking real depth.

Transfers - we made a profit as I lowered the average age of the squad.

Finances - back in good state.

Key Player Profiles:

Thomas Green - the new number nine.

Gustavo Alexandre - our MVP.

Dennis Bierofka - the youth product is still on form.

Met Police - Premier League - 2075/76

I thought we were back to our best, but I've had a few problems with key players recently.

League Table - our third consecutive year missing the 100 point target.

Community Shield - we lost on penalties.

UEFA Super Cup - an extra time goal sealed the win for us.

League Cup - we made hard work of it, but the final was simple enough.

FA Cup - things were going well but a late goal knocked us out in the quarter finals.

UEFA Champions League - a horrible way to lose a final.

Squad - the squad is good, but I've got a number of things I'm unhappy with.

Transfers - this wasn't a good year for our transfers.

Finances - a big loss.

Key Player Profiles:

Dennis Bierofka - top scorer.

Gustavo Alexandre - our MVP.

Thomas Green - he might move back to the wing after this season.

Met Police - Premier League - 2076/77

Last season wasn't our best as my squad worries were still not resolved. This season I was hoping a new striker would shine.

League Table - our first 100 point season for a while.

Community Shield - it took a late goal to snatch victory.

League Cup - we edged out Pompey in the semis then made easy work of the final.

FA Cup - another close battle with Pompey in the final.

UEFA Champions League - another Pompey final, this time it wasn't close.

Squad - it looks fantastic, but I'm still not happy with the wingers and main striker.

Transfers more - I was busy in the transfer market as I moved on a couple of bad apples.

Finances - a huge loss.

Key Player Profiles:

Alex Martínez - the new signing was the top scorer, but I'm not convinced.

Cosmin Zota - our MVP is one of two fantastic supporting strikers.

John Concha  - the first youth product I've signed for a number of years.

Still no movement from the board on the new stadium, but Dafuge Arena is 17 years old now. Maybe they will reconsider in the next few years?

Met Police - Premier League - 2077/78

We looked at our best last season, but I was still trying to find that ideal striker to lead the team.

League Table - we made it to 100 points, but Pompey nearly did too.

Community Shield - a massive win.

UEFA Super Cup - this was a lot closer.

FIFA Club World Cup - the fitness killer.

League Cup - we needed extra time to win this.

FA Cup - another cup final win over Pompey.

UEFA Champions League - the red card cost us badly as Pompey won it for the first time.

Squad - it's been hard work keeping everyone happy this season.

Transfers - we also sold Alex Martínez for £95m to PSG.

Finances - a profit.

Key Player Profiles:

Réda Chauvet - the new striker was hugely impressive.

Cosmin Zota - our MVP.

Ben Wade - he's a club legend now.

Kings Langley- 2027-28  Season 6, 1st Season Premier League

A good first season in EPL, as we finished in 9th- a pretty pleasing result to be in the top half of the table. Overall, we defeated the clubs we needed to and lost to the top clubs. The top clubs generally punished us in heavy defeats, while we earned many close wins. Keeper Aaron Maguire (has been our #1 keeper all 6 seasons since Vanarama South) had a terrific season with 9 clean sheets despite a very leaky defense. Our offense wasn't prolific, but we did get 12 goals from both Leyton Stewart and Tyrese Omotoye and we landed a promising 19 year old Colombian Julio Cesar Garcia in the January window and he added 4 goals. Our 19 year old Colombian leftwinger Vladimir Bocanegra blossomed in his first season with the club and had 8 goals and 7 assists. His bookend partner, 21 year old Irish rightwinger Bob Bell chipped in with 7 goals and 5 assists. Our central midfield featured Nile John (2 goals, 5 assists), Agustin Lopez (1 goal- goal of the season for the club, 5 assists), Tomislav Duvnjak (1 goal, 7 assists) and Tim Iroegbunam (4 goals, 1 assists). Our backline featured Neco Williams and Joel Bagan, who both played well this season. Our central defense played inconsistently (very poorly against the top sides) and featured Zach Awe, Weverton, Max Normann Williamsen and Elkan Baggott.

Our finances are very good, thanks to the low limits on our wage budget and the immense TV money in EPL Currently we have almost 100 Million in the bank (before they tax our profits) so very secure. It looks like the Board won't give us much of a transfer budget, so we will continue to search hard for cheaper younger players that we can hopefully develop. The Board has approved every request for improving our training facilities and our youth facilities, which I consider promising for our future. I am hopeful now that we have demonstrated we can stay in EPL that the Board will at least consider a large increase in our weekly wage budget as we have a miniscule budget compared to every other EPL club.
