A nice little cup win

I managed to finish 5th in the league. I don't think I will be staying at Feyenoord as I don't think we are strong enough to win the Dutch league with Ajax being so dominant.

Best Player - Dustin Huymans - 25 Year Old Dutch Striker

My best of a bad bunch was Huymans who got 13 goals from 27 games played.

A nice easy cup run as well with us beating Rangers in the final as the cherry on the cake.

34 goals in 44 games. A striker too good for the Scottish league and will go onto better things.

ANYANG FC WIN THE KOREAN FA CUP

Spoiler

1569040_20220710211543_1.thumb.png.cab0e7d6de21ba5ccffe8cbe42d19318.png

We came second in the league in our first season in the K League 1 but Jeonbuk were a mile away. With no other competitions and qualifying for the AFC Champions League being reasonably simple, the focus was on this. I'm glad I don't have to worry about this for the rest of my time with the team and use it to rest players.

Our first game was a simple tie against lower league opposition in Yangju FC. We dispatched of them comfortably with a 6-0 win. In the next round, we were drawn against Gimcheon of the K League 1 where we won 4-0. Daegu was up next in the Quarter Final and was easily the tightest game of the run which we edged to a 1-0 win. A win against Ulsan Hyundai and we were through to the final. We did after going 2-0 up and losing that lead before scoring again to win it.

The final was fairly simple. We won 2-0 away at Suwon Bluewings to take an advantage to our home stadium. We took the lead before they pegged us back. We then repeated the feat but beyond that, it wasn't an issue. We were never at risk of losing the tie so that's #11.

2048-2056

So I haven’t posted on here for awhile but I’ve come back to hopefully finish this save. I left after finishing the club side of the save and needing the European Championship and Asian Cup.

I took over the French national team with World Cup in 2054. In the leadup I won the nations league for the first time. Unfortunately the World Cup was a bust, I lost in the QF and got sacked.

Luckily the Australian job came available after they had a horrible WC. I was feeling confident heading into the Asian Cup in 2055. Unfortunately I lost to South Korea in the SF 2-1. That was a heart breaker as I dominated the game and then got sacked post tournament.

I holidayed through to the next works cup to see what teams would be available.  I took over Portugal to have a crack at the 2056 European Championship. In the leadup, the Nations League ended in a group stage knockout. The qualifiers were easy enough with 10/10 wins.

I had a fairly challenging group with France, former World Champions Bulgaria and XX. I started with a strong 3-0 win over Bulgaria and 1-0 over France meaning I qualified with a game to spare. A fully rested side won 4-0 against Romania to top the group. I got a stitch up of a draw, drawing England the second rank side. I put in a cracker of a performance and won comfortably 2-0. This is as good as I got as I didn’t turn up in the QF against Northern Ireland where I won 3-2 needing a 118th minute ET win. I had the home nation Scotland in the SF and I just didn’t get going and lost 3-0. This one hurts as I really should’ve beat Scotland and the draw bad opened up so I would’ve had Belgium in the final. Portugal wanted me to stay in but I didn’t want to do a full 4 year cycle so I resigned and will see if any jobs come up after the next WC and try again.

I’m gonna stick out this save now until I either get it done or go bust.

Anyang FC Win AFC Champions League and K League 1 Double

1569040_20220714005246_1.thumb.png.f27160eda1688666beaf34258a3e31d6.png

Last season, it felt inconceivable that we'd be in this position. It felt like we were too far behind Jeonbuk but we turned some of those results around and dropped fewer points elsewhere. We did exactly that. We got a win against Jeonbuk and another draw as well as achieving the other aim of dropping fewer points. We were clearly second before but this season, our young squad continued to progress and won the league as Jeonbuk failed to win and we failed to lose on the final day. Our goals scored would have been enough to win the league as that's how South Korea is ordered.

It was a little easier in the Asian Champions League. We were comfortable in our group including Melbourne Victory, Urawa Reds and Kunshan. We won every game bar one which rewarded us with a game against Vissel Kobe. We comfortably won that game for a Quarter Final draw against Seoul E-Land. They were tricky in the league and we won that. In the meantime, Jeonbuk lost to Daegu which handed us an easier game than anticipated.

We won that and assured we'd be the South Korean team in the FInal against Al-Jazira. We were comfortable and took the lead and held until half time. They got a penalty in the 59th minute before we took the lead with a corner into Kim Jun-Sik. We held the lead until the end of the game to win our fourth continent of Champions Leagues.

SBV Vitesse

2034/35

Club Overview ~ League Table ~ Squad Overview ~ Finances

So after leaving Chelsea and being able to get the Brazil job I was was going to be patient for my next job unless something excited me and I realized I still need to go to Holland, Portugal and Argentina in order to complete this challenge so when Vitesse came up sitting in 14th with a media prediction of 4th, I thought this this would be a nice little challenge. Vitesse have an okay squad and with Ajax being totally dominant, I'd like to try and knock them of their perch for a season. One of my issues for the first part is I don't have a left back so I'm already looking forward to January!

RANS Cilegon FC

2021/22

Took longer than expected to get through season; ended up with not a lot of time to play FM. Joined the squad in October, which in Indonesia is the tail end of the season. Second tier promotion playoffs were ongoing and Cilegon missed it, so no choice but to just simulate forward. Other than the excitement of signing a HOYD far better than the quality of our squad, offseason was just free agents and end of contracts, and we ended up with a squad that looked well suited to promotion. So how did we do?

Not well.

Even with a cup run still alive, there's no keeping your job when your relegation is confirmed. We were sixth or seventh on the xG table, but seemed to never score. An average defensive unit couldn't save us, and almost half the games were 0-1 losses. If it's possible to be FM'ed over an entire season, then this is it.

On to the next job.

Madura United FC

2022

After a couple weeks of job hunting, the post opened up for two top flight Indonesian teams: Madura United and Bali United. They're both title challengers who were underperforming, but Madura had a cup run going, and therefore a chance at an immediate title. The league title was still mathematically possible for both, but nothing short of winning out was realistically needed. Unfortunately, my leadership didn't start off hot, as the cup dream died immediately and we only took one point from my first two league games. But fortunately, we finished the stretch strong and ended up rising all the way to fourth. With the form at the end of the season and the defensive side of the squad leading the way in goals conceded, there's a lot of hope to knock out a couple of titles early on, and maybe push for a dream Champions League. In all likelihood, though, I'll get the two trophies here and go off to either the K LEAGUE 2 or the Chinese League One.

A perfect season without a single loss in any competition. I've never accomplished such a feat in FM before and have my star players to thank for the most incredible season I've ever managed.

I managed to also develop and sell three wonderkids to Europe, all near Minimum Release Clause values: Thabang Jaftha (450k), Thapelo Badboy (around 800k), and Fortune Basadien (around 500k)

I brought on my favorite player from managing at Persib, Agus Santoso. Santoso and I together broke into club history as "Favored personnel" in the first year. Agus had a stretch of 9 games where he scored in every game he played, despite being a central midfielder. He also developed into the best player on the team. I need to keep him for another year, win the champions league, and then bring him wherever I can go.

A very solid season. Not the perfect season from last year (with two semi-final cup defeats), but we won the most important competition - the Champions League!

After another wonderful season from my favorite player, Agus Santoso, we were able to comfortably take the champions league in the final.

I've moved on to Brentford, a club under a transfer embargo after failing FFP. Hopefully we can sell some players for good money and help alleviate the deficit.

We managed to pick up the Internacional job and surprisingly the Brazil job after a Quarter Final exit at the 2026 World Cup. Though that Brazil appointment page has to be the least amount of text for an announcement that I've seen for a while!

2026 league win

2026 copa libertadores

League - Cup - South America

A lovely double means South America is complete for club trophies! I could do with a lot less of the drama though, not sure how I was able to cope with both the league and the Libertadores.

Serie A:
We sneak home a Serie A win here on goal difference as Internacional themselves retain the title whilst I win it for the first time. We took over halfway through the season and managed to claw back the gap and take home the title.

Copa do Brasil:
A disappointing semi final exit, though I wasn't as annoyed thanks to the Libertadores penalty win a week earlier. A bit frustrating, but the other silverware made up for it.

Copa Libertadores:
Thank god for no away goals, as we absolutely sneak past Athletico Paranaense in the Semi Final before a very very comfortable 2-0 win over Sao Paulo in the final. Thank god for no stupid glitch this time, so I can finally feel like I can get this challenge started this time.

2027/28 Season Report:

Dortmund Appointment

slight jump in the future - there wasn't much to add in the 2027 season with Internacional. Won both the league and the Copa Libertadores but found no joy in the cup again but I spent most of the season trying to get a decent European job and got one in the form of Borussia Dortmund.

League - Cup - Europe

I joined Dortmund in the middle of the winter break (literally January 1st - happy new year I guess!), so only had half a season with them. We were still in both Cup and European competition though. We did still have Youssoufa Moukoko as well.... for 11 days. Bayern triggered his £126m release clause within about 2 days of me joining!

Bundesliga:

We were always up against it, but to sneak 2nd is something I'll definitely take. Bayern are far and away the best side within Germany - they have a yearly salary of £249m, with the 2nd best being me on £100m and even then most clubs are sitting around the £40/50m area which shows just what we're up against! The table ended fairly dramatically for the European places, with 2 points separating 2nd and 6th!

DFP-Pokal:

I was fairly confident I could win this if we avoided Bayern..... and we didn't avoid Bayern. A 3-1 loss in the Semi Final at home put paid to our hopes here. A couple of dominating victories against Frankfurt and Hamburg meant if anyone knocked Bayern out, I was super confident of taking home a trophy but alas, it wasn't to be.

UEFA Champions League:

Managed to grab Dortmund as they went straight into the Champions League knockouts, so a "nice" landing for me.... till the games. A hugely disappointing 2-0 aggregate loss to Arsenal meant we were dumped out at the first knockout stage.

Now for Brazil.........

2028 Copa America

2028 continental

A trophy!

A straightforward Copa America for us as we surprisingly face Chile in the final. Importantly, we got through Argentina in Semi Final which was clearly the biggest obstacle. Thankfully we've got it at the first attempt - I'll be staying with Brazil until the 2030 World Cup and then moving on. Compared to my previous attempt which was bugged out by the Copa Libertadores, I'm just glad I'm nearly out of South America!

After a tough first season in charge at Vitesse almost getting the sack, we managed to rotate the squad and find some absolute bargains ready for my second season in charge and it duly paid off. Vitesse will be set up for the next few years financially with the players in that squad. We managed to win the league comfortably, sadly we lost to Ajax in the semi final of the cup and we got hammered in the final of the conference league. I'm pretty pleased with the season and I was going to stay to get the cup but I want to keep making progress in this save, none of the big jobs in the main leagues are coming up very often so completing most of those leagues will take 3-5 years to rebuild and overtake the major sides so decided to leave for another club.

Club Overview ~ League Table ~ Squad Overview ~ Finances

So my next club is Villarreal, I can't see any of the major clubs becoming available soon and this is the kind of squad I like, high valued older players..... Can see this taking me a long time to win though, I still need to win the Champions League in Europe yet and not sure what club I'll want to stay at long enough to do. I'll either go back to Wolves for it or I'll do a team in Germany or Italy I think, obviously if I get the chance to win it at any club I'll take it.

As for Brazil I'm hoping they won't sack me my rating is an F at the moment so I'll let you know how that goes apologies for the huge update for one trophy!

Bundesliga:

An 80 point season only sees us finish 2nd in the Bundesliga, 6 points behind eventual winners Bayern. I've gone back through wiki and taken a look through previous Bundesliga seasons and nobody has got close to that.....fun. We actually kept up with them pretty well, but we ended up losing 4 of our last 8 games, including one against Bayern. This league genuinely just feels like a better Scottish Premiership...

DFB-Pokal:

Again, exactly the same as last year. Comfortable against anyone not named Bayern Munich. I hate that team.

UEFA Champions League:

Surprised myself here by actually getting past PSG in the last 16, but sadly fell to Inter in the Quarters.

We're probably 3/4 players away from being able to compete with the best in Europe. We're lacking a couple of good full backs, a defensive midfielder and a left winger. I'm hoping we can get at least 2 of these filled and we can grab a trophy next season, otherwise it'll be a bit of a long delay in Europe getting any trophies!

2058-2063

So I entered the 2060 European championship feeling somewhat hopeful of success with Spain.

I had made the nations league final and won all my qualifying games so I knew my squad was good enough against the big sides. Had put some great performances against some rivals.

I started pretty poorly with a bore 1-1 draw against turkey. I then scraped past Israel 1-0 to basically secure qualification. A fully rotated side beat Sweden 3-0 to secure top spot. I kept a similar backup side to breeze past Denmark 2-0. In the QF I drew Holland and won a pretty comfortable 2-0 where the Dutch barely threatened. In the SF it was probably my best performance as I smashed France 3-0. I dominated from start to finish and didn’t really give them a sniff. The final saw me play against world number 2 Italy. I didn’t start well and Italy were pretty dominant against me. Luckily against the run of play my star CAM assisted my star striker to score with my first chance. After this I played pretty well before adding a second in the second half. I was completely gassed but managed to hold on and lift the trophy.

Overall I was very happy with the tournament, not conceding from open play is a fantastic effort.

With this ticked off, I need just the one trophy: the Asian cup. After this I holidayed through to the 2062 WC. None of the big Asian sides had a change of manager but the Iran job was available so I thought I’d run the gauntlet on this and hope for a miracle.

Iran's squad was pretty average but after some friendlies it was clear I was better than the lower ranked sides. I breezed through the group stage winning all 3 games to book a second round spot against Vietnam. I proceeded to beat them 1-0 with a late worldie. Up next was Saudi Arabia; I started well taking the lead 30 minutes in before they scored a long range strike in the 45th minute to equalise. I was the better team in the game until my player got sent off in ET and from there I held on until pens which I lost 4-3. This felt like a missed opportunity as Saudi Arabia really weren't great. Amazingly enough they went on to win the tournament which is even more disappointing to see.

So I resigned after the tournament and am holidaying to the East Asian Cup, WC and Asian Cup trying to get a job at any of the big Asian sides. I am now in 2067 and it is not looking good but fingers crossed I can get one soon.

We end the 18 consecutive Bayern Munich titles! Time to get out of Germany....

Bundesliga:
As you can see above, we ended the 2030/31 season as champions and pretty much demolished everyone on the way. Considering we got a 91 point haul, we still didn't get the title until quite late in the season as 2nd place got at least 80 points... again. The rest of German football apart from Dortmund & Bayern are really quite poor at the moment. Funnily enough, we beat Bayern in both fixtures this season. If we'd followed our normal course of losing twice, we'd have finished a point behind with that stupidly looking goal difference!

DFB-Pokal:
This was pretty much a complete destruction, although the only time we ever faced a team in the same division was the final itself, surprisingly.

UEFA Champions League:
The Champions League stays in Germany.... but travels to Munich in the hands of Bayern. Means German clubs have won 4 of the last 5 Champions League. Both Europa and Conference League were also won by German clubs. There's a football revolution going on apparently and it's all in Germany! We already won this last year, so wasn't a hugely important result but always disappointing to lose in the final to.... them.

League - Season Review 1 | Season Review 2 - a great season, we won the supporter shield and had fairly comfortable play off wins to get through to the final where we beat Atlanta United to lift the MLS Cup

US Open Cup - Fixtures - I don't think this is taken that seriously, a big defeat of NY Red Bulls lead to us lifting the trophy

CONCACAF Champions League - Fixtures - luckily we were still in this, and with good performances against two Mexican and one US side we met surprise team Necaxa in the final, an entertaining final lead to us to lift the trophy

Club World Cup - Fixtures | Table - our CL win meant we qualified for this, expected to be long shots we defeated Roma and Internacional in the groups somehow only for PSG to be too much for us.

Transfers -a fair bit of chopping and changing, the trades aren't here for some reason?

Finances - pretty rich

Squad - balancing all the rules is interesting

Key players:

Johan Hove - strong Norwegian centre midfielder bought from Roma

Elias - £4.6m bought us a very talented Brazilian striker

Josh Sargent - bought in the US striker from Germany as our star DP

Bamba Dieng - Senegalese striker bought for a cheap £750k from Marseille

Chris N'Diaye - another Senegalese striker for a ridiculous £44k

Very happy with my first season in charge at Villarreal, finishing 2nd and going on to win the Copa Del Rey without conceding a goal I just noticed. Matthias Otto and Franklin Abadaki costing a combined £80M was a steal granted £70M went on Otto. I wanted Abadaki and Vitesse but felt a few attributes let him down but boy did he prove me wrong in a much tougher league. We had an okay in Europa League losing out in the Quarter to Arsenal. I also felt our team were missing 3 or 4 players to complete the squad already to compete on all fronts so I don't plan on making many changes next season.

So we made the few additions we needed to our squad and boy did we get off to a good start in the league winning our first 16 games I think, and we eased in to a 13 point lead, at some point that dropped to a 6 point lead but once we were knocked out of the Champions League by one of our previous employers in Chelsea we seemed to regain form and pull away again. We managed to make it back to back Copa Del Rey wins as well which is always nice, we did lose a couple of players in January too which limited our squad again but it didn't affect our season at all really.

I have the World Cup coming up this year and I'm not sure what I'll do from here again, I really like Villarreal so I may stay to try and win the Champions League with them, one of the reasons I might move on is I don't like doing transfer windows while involved in an international tournament.

11 years after winning my first international trophy, I finally have my second and it's the big one! England have won the World Cup for the first time since 1966, it could not of gone any better either, beating Brazil in the final who sacked me. We were comfortable all the way through this tournament, the biggest threat was actually Mexico who luckily got a red card to help us squeeze past them. Spain never really threatened and Brazil got a late consolation goal, thankfully nothing more than that. I'll be staying on with England to hopefully go on and win the Euros in 2040.

The PSG job finally became available as their previous manager who was there since 2026 finally decided to leave and take the Spain job, I'd already resigned from Villarreal and looked set to become Benfica manager until this job popped up on my inbox. I'm hoping this will just be a one season job and I can win the League and Cup at least, if we can add the Champions League to that then excellent but I really don't need to do anything to this squad it's already a quality team.

A disappointing season - we went from challenging for the title to struggling to reach the playoffs. Unsurprisingly, we fell in the playoffs to Fulham in the 2nd leg. No promotion, I don't see myself ever winning the league or cup with this team, so I'm going to probably resign and start looking for a new club.

2032 33 league win

3 down, 2 to go for the main 5!

Italy Serie A:
11 points clear at the top of the table in the end, although it wasn't as comfortable as it seems. Juventus hadn't lost a game after 29 games, then picked up 12 points from a possible 27 to end the season. I was 7 points behind with 9 games left, which shows just how insane Juventus were going whilst I was having Dortmund/Bayern flashbacks!

Coppa Italia:
Incredibly disappointing end here, although I do forget just how many little cup games you actually play in Italy till I play here. Losing out on penalties is a nightmare and we've had some absolute rotten luck in cup competitions this career. A late equaliser and a penalty loss might be one of the harder losses I'll have here.

UEFA Champions League:
Again, not needing to win this competition but I do like to give it my best. Things were going somewhat as expected, a Group Stage loss away to Barcelona was not the end of the world as we still made it through to the knockout stages. A favourable draw against Dynamo Kyiv saw us progress before an absolutely huge collapse at home against Man Utd thanks to a 4 goal haul in the first leg and a double in the 2nd from Axel Jimenez. Feel like he's basically Javier Hernandez reborn for Man Utd.

We'll probably look to move into either France or Spain as soon as possible - I'm not too fussed if we don't pick up the cups here as we only need the league titles.

In a season where domination was expected domestically, we delivered losing only 2 games as we went on to win Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. The surprising one was going on to win the Champions League as well, we had a good enough squad to compete but felt it wasn't good enough to win the whole thing but we managed to do it, it was fitting that our finalists were in our group stage where we both won a game each, the final was pretty dull but pleased to squeeze the victory out. As you would expect I'll be looking to move on from PSG no big jobs available but I hope that changes when I leave my role.

So thankfully the Juventus manager went on to take my old job at PSG paving my way to finally do Italy, the squad on the whole looks okay maybe a few additions to help strengthen, I'm not expected this to be a walk in the park like in France with teams such as Inter, Milan, Napoli, Roma etc. In my first season I'm not going to make major changes and if I don't won what I need then I'll look at making larger scale changes the season after if needs be.

League - Cup - Europe

Nigeria appointment

A double change in the 33/34 season! A move to Spain to manage Seville, and a chance to take on the Nigeria job ahead of the African Nations.

LaLiga:
We joined half way through the season with Sevilla in 13th, with no European football on the season. Thankfully, with not much competition towards the top of the table we were able to claw this back and pick up Champions League football towards the end of the year after we caught a particularly hot run of form. Also, Huesca are good now, apparently? Think this is the first team I've seen in the top 5 leagues be at the top apart from the big guns.

Copa Del Rey:
A cup win! A relatively simple route to the final for us here until we met Barcelona in the final. We get a bit of retribution as we get a penalty win after the loss as Inter boss last year.

2033 34 cup win

With the Nigeria appointment, we've got a great shot at taking home the African Nations. Then hopefully we've got a Gold Cup and an Asian Cup remaining.

A solid season - I came into the team when it was mid-table, and immediately shot to the top of the table. We couldn't hold onto the pole position, and therefore dropped to 3rd. Enough for champions league qualification. Next year, the goal is to win at least one trophy, be it league, cup, or champions league. I don't think we're strong enough yet to win a treble. If a great signing comes, we'll take it, but the squad is looking strong.

Country

I took over as USA manager, and not much has happened. A relatively straightforward qualification group saw us easily qualify for the World Cup, which I think we have a decent chance at performing in. I'll stay until maybe the next Copa America? Depends on if the USA is invited again.

League - Table (no season review?) - we retained the title

KFA Cup - Fixtures - retained this too with a comfortable win over Daegu

AFC Champions League - Table | Fixtures - a very tough group of Melbourne Victory (A League regular season champions), Shandong (Chinese champions) and Frontale of Japan which we topped to meet fellow Korean side Seoul in the 2nd round, whom we beat at home.  In the quarters we travelled to Melbourne again to see off Melbourne City.  Then back again to Australia to Perth where we thrashed Perth Glory to get to the final against Emirati side Shabab Al-Ahli.  An easy 4-0 win led us to lifting the trophy.

Transfers - mainly sales, some larger purchases

Finances - all fine, although most of the AFC CL prize money went on bonuses!

Squad

Key players:

Domagoj Drožđek - actually got a call up to the Korea side for the EAFF Championship (although didn't play)

Kim Sang-Soo - still prolific

Kim Jin Sung - glad I made his transfer permanent

Ryan Edwards - still doing a good job in midfield

Ottar Magnus Karlsson - another good season from the experienced striker

Future: with Asia completely done now I resigned for pastures new

Also (as seen above) I became Ivory Coast manager with a long view to the 2029 Cup of Nations

Chivas & Australia

Well this is a long overdue update! Trying to get some good time in on the challenge has been difficult, but here we are.

I will keep this short and sweet as i'm still eary days into the challenge. But as you can below, I've finally got into the big leagues and i can now be selective with who i want to manage to be able to finish the challenge ASAP. I would have stuck with Dortmund, but the club world champs wasn't until 2034, so i ditched them. I will worry about that cup when it gets closer to the championships, wether it's 2034 or 2038 etc.

image.thumb.png.2d66f7517fc4583d45fd8dbf9bda25dd.png

I managed to bag the AFCON quite easily, which was good. Now with the aussies, i should be able to get the Asian Cup in 2035 as I have some great youngsters coming through and just beat Brazil 5-0 (in a friendly) so i'm quietly confident.

I've gotten lucky with Chivas as they are in the North American Champions League already, so i can make a good challenge for that! Got a great team and decent finances. The only annoyance is that i didn't read the club visions properly when i joined and I can't sign Non-Mexican players! I'll test that at some point. "Not judging" apparantly.

As expected we went on to win the league pretty comfortably, I weren't expecting much from this team in the Champions League this squad is not even close to competing and the Champions League is not a Priority anyway. It was the Coppa Italia that annoyed me dominating and them scoring their only shot on target with a 25 yard strike top corner. I'm going to stay one more year to attempt to win the cup as I do want to win a cup in top 5 major leagues too.

A gutting end to my time with England, we looked set to win a World Cup and Euro's back to back being 1-0 up in the final against Spain with 86 minutes gone and we concede an equalizer. Then in extra time not much happens looking like we're heading to penalties and the only highlight of extra time they score in the 117th minute to end our hope of back to back international tournaments. I decided to resign after that as the next tournament for England was the World Cup which we've already won.

I've now taken over Mexico who have the Gold Cup in 2041 hopefully we can go on to win that and assess what I need to do from there.

We didn't win the league quite as comfortably this time we were bouncing between 2nd and 4th for the majority of the season and to be honest it was Napoli's collapse that won it for us. Also the FM gods weren't against us in the Coppa Italia this time around and we managed to get the main trophy we needed for this season. I think for my next stop will be Germany. Whoever I end up managing in Germany I'll stay with until I win the Club World Cup

North American Champions League ticked off! Quite easy considering they beat me in the league and mexican cup!

Uthongathi in the GladAfrica Championship. There are only three games left in the season. Which is probably why I'm not being judged on my performance this year!

Real life rules has it as:

Points
Head to Head
Goal Difference
Goals Scored
Fair Play scales (several things in here)
Tie-breaker in neutral stadium.

I thought it was games won at first till I saw the "randomly chosen" as well - really wish the go to for FM would be to just do a tie-breaker.

@AnnersSorry for being a bad thread host. I couldn't see the screenshot clearly on the TV I had my laptop hooked up to. Can you imagine of this happened in rel life which is why I guess they have the tie-breaker in neutral stadium). Not sure it can even really be regarded as a bug. I mean, how many times has this situation occurred even in the thousands of seasons played on FM.

Hopefully it's only going to delay you for a year. Think how good success will taste then.

@Mandy42 Welcome to the challenge. always nice to have new blood.

@Gregg88 Welcome to the leader board. I know I usually do memes to celebrate it. I'm just flat out of ideas. I think the meme thing has run its course. Perhaps I should start designing NFTs for getting on the leader board.

There's more important things than being a good thread host!

Going on La Liga tie-break rules, it would have gone to fair play which in FM terms would have been 55 for Sevilla (52 yellows + 1 red), 52 for Real Madrid (46 yellows + 2 reds) so technically Real would have won the league by 3 fair play points I guess? I'm trying to not have it be "random"! I was sure I'd seen playoffs before, but it's possibly Italy where this happens?

La Liga:
Going to be a short and sweet one here. Lost out to Real Madrid "randomly". Gonna be a sore one for a while. I'll be right back after I probably financially ruin Sevilla to get this league trophy.

Copa del Rey:
Wait ages for another cup win and get 2 in a row! This was an incredibly difficult run with an extra time winner v Real Sociedad, an 87th minute winner against Barcelona in the Semi Final and a tight 1-0 win in the final v Huesca.

UEFA Champions League:
A bit of a group of death with Milan, Porto and Lyon and somehow Porto only lose once but finish bottom. We end up getting knocked out by Inter in the Quarter Finals. Whoever managed them previously must have set them up a good team....

African Nations:

african nations win

Internationally I don't seem to be struggling thankfully! I might be able to concentrate fully on club football to round out this challenge the way this is going.

2035 african nations

This was probably one of the most straight forward tournaments I've ever had, the Quarter Final against Congo aside! We were helped out by an abject Egypt side who didn't score a goal in the Group Stage and the other side of the knockout draw having all the heavyweights (South Africa, Morocco, Cameroon and Ivory Coast). In the end, we faced South Africa again in the final and should have really won by 3/4 goals rather than the 1 goal margin here.
