Make sure your drivers are up to date - had this a couple times in FM21 and it's always been when my drivers need updating so might be worth trying that?

We stayed up a little less comfortably than I would have liked. Had a chance to qualify for Europe but we had 2 significant sales that pretty much killed our chances.

So we're getting more defenders, which isn't an issue as far as I am concerned. My only concern is that we're still getting goalkeepers when I need more than just keepers at this point.

First Youth Intake Preview in China. We absolutely desperatly need new CBs, so not very promising in that regard. Nevertheless a golden generation sound good, and we also need wingers and an attacking midfielder. Lets see

I have the newest nVidia drivers and I haven't updated them for a few weeks, so I doubt it's that. It happen when I enter a match (or try to holiday past it), so I think there is something happening around it that causes it...

This happens to me on some matches too, only difference is I CAN holiday past the game. Always happens around December-January time.

Ah no idea then I'm afraid. Mine has come when trying to load my save so sounds like a different issue then.

Poor intake, but at least this time they told me it would be weak months beforehand. In the end, it was a bit better than expected, but yeah a weaker year than most.

Season 1 Review

Season 1 is a learning curve on these youth saves for me, especially when I am doing an abroad save (Origin UK).

There are so many teams and so many different rules to follow in Portugal. I only realised that they were already professional when i was setting up the pre season training.

The youth intake for the first season was pretty poor, they had told me it wasn't too bad.

Holy crap, we so nearly won the title. We drew vs Maccabi Tel Aviv on the final day and that ended it for us, but we were able to finish 2nd and qualify for the Champions League.

Man, this challenge really is something. I really need to get some players on other positions, or im gonna be thrown back quite some bit.

But i guess that's the difficulty off this challenge right? I got about 6/7 strikers and 4/5 goalkeepers that can probably all play, but only 2 decent CB.

Finished the first Season in China and we managed to finish third. The Squad was actually decent, but the next Season will be much harder as we will loose our two best Players.

The biggest Issue at the moment are the finances. We will party ways with some big contracts and hopefully can reduce the running costs but we startet with about 1 Million and are now - 2 Millions. It will take some time to get out of the deposit.

From the first Team Squad we will loose: Tiago Leonco / Daniel Wong / Yoann Aquin / Fu Jie / Zhu Zilin / Liu Xinyu and Zou Shuanglong

Also trying to get rid of Zhang Lie due to wages

Our U19 dropped into the B Division. Had no chance, because no players

Ren Qisheng (22C)

Ma Peng (22B)

Ma Zhiyi (22D)

 

Personally I could do two Coaching Courses but now Im stuck because of the clubs finances.

Vikeologist's 2040/41 Folkestone Season Report

With 4 matches to go we were, like last season, just outside the playoffs and finishing up against our promotion rivals. Last year we won all 4 and shot straight through the playoffs to automatic promotion. This year we lost all 4, but that doesn’t tell the story. We lost to a last minute goal chasing the win we needed in the second match, and I just gave some kids a run out in the final 2 matches since our play off chance had gone.

It would have been nice to make the playoffs for financial reasons, but I’d have been very nervous about our chances next season if we’d secured a 4^th straight promotion. It was vey much on the cards though until major injury problems in the second half of the season. We have some very good players, but there’s a big drop off between the best and the rest.

Top Goalscorer – Jack Collett 13a – 37

Despite the rise in division, only 1 goal less than last year. His strike-mate, Michael Morgan picked up 35. Once again, no one else in double figures.

No change. Jason isn’t anywhere near playable any more, but he’s a free mentor, apart from the money we spend on his coaching qualifications.

Chris Pope 10b is on 458, but whereas he was a God of a keeper in the Vauxhall South, there’s a possibility that I might have to pass the torch on to someone else at some point.

Most Goals (Regens) – Michael Morgan 9a - 323

Morgan is pretty much keeping pace with Collett, 129 goals ahead, and unlike my goalie, I’d be surprised if either of them lost their place in the next few years.

Denmark - June 30th

 

@darren1983 This is actually the same for Denmark. At the end of season 1, the league system is restructured into 4 tiers: the Super League (top), First Division, Second Division, and Third Division.

But the way I would suggest, is to holiday the first two seasons. Then the season is reset on June 30th in 2022. Save on June 1st in 2022 for different teams to be promoted. Doing it like this makes it truly easy to see in the season summary which teams were promoted.

We couldn't replicate last season and the board wasn't having it. A few bad results, and I'm out. I was predicted to finish bottom by the way.

This save tempts me to never play Football Manager ever again. Utterly embarrassing.

Tried everything i could to get the Chile on to work, but no cigar. So I'm doing a little try in the Faroe Islands. The updates will be short, I expect, but very frequent due to the short seasons.

I've taken over MB, or Miðvágs Bóltfelag, a team who finished bottom of the 4th tier the first season I holidayed through.

Should be fun.

Should I do another Y/O? I feel like I wasted 2-3 weeks of my life, not gonna lie.

Sackings need to be more realistic and not based off a couple of bad results, but to be fair I was a victim of my own success. It just hurts me a lot. I'll relax in a bit I'm sure.

A update of where I'm upto on my save, been too busy this past week

 

 

 

Just starting my 5th season and I'm really happy with the progress made to get to the top division in 4 seasons

I have to say I have been lucky with my youth intakes so far and even got a couple of decent players from the 1st intake before I became manager

 

Virtually the whole team is made up of my youth players now and there is some decent players for this level

my main focus is to stay in the super league and improve my facilities

this level of reward really helps and is more than I received in 4 seasons in the lower leagues just for one win !

coaching is at a very poor level as well as the facilities, I need to improve standards at the club

 

standout players in my team

 

 

very early days but had a couple of decent results so far, pretty happy with it

Miðvágs Bóltfelag - Season 2021 Review

The season went really fast, but with only 10 league matches, it's not really that surprising. We started poor, but got going after a while and almost made it into the promotion playoff (there are 3 sub divisions and the winners go into a mini league and the two best are promoted). We only missed out on goal difference. Still a good start to the save. We haven't had a youth intake yet, since it comes after the season, so I'll add that in a separate post.

In the Løgmanssteypið we lost to Undrið in the 1st round.

We did a very good job in our second season.  Finishing 4th means i can play the Championship (PO1) . 

We start with 50% of the points . If we finish 3th or higher we a certain of some European playoffs. The number 4  normaly have to play a game against the winner of the PO2 group(5 to 8th). But the cup final was : Standard - Brugge and Standard won it. So i hope that this will increase our chances.

We had a great chance of finishing 3th but we lost it in the final game. We had to play against the winner of PO2 (Anderlecht). 


and we finish after extra time with... nothing ! but then our season review shows something else.. we have ECL !

In the Beker van België we lost against RSCA in the seventh round.

Burssens is again our best player and had a solid season , he renewed his contract for many years. Ryckaert , his DC partner had a very good season.

Would be great because we are still renting a stadium.

Manager Thoughts

Very proud that I can achieve this after four seasons. European football in season 5 and very close to finish in the top two/three in my second season at the highest level.

Some youngsters are breaking through into the starting line-up and I can bring another two or three through. Apart from that, about eight players who grew up with me from the fourth tier continue to form the core of the team.  It would be great if we can survive in the conference league playoffs and reach the group stage. And i would like to finish into the top 8 next season to challenge again for Europe.

Miðvágs Bóltfelag - Season 2022 Review

Another season swooshed by and this time we won our group. It was close though, while we lost out on goal difference last season, we won it on goal difference this time! So we went into the playoff against Royn and B71 II. We managed to end in 2nd place, and are thus promoted to the 3rd tier! The promotion also turned us semi-pro!

In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Undrið before losing to B68 Toftir in the 2nd round.

We had our youth intake, but still mostly dross.

One thing I've noticed is that a few of my players' personalities have changed from resolute to Professional.

I've always thought that Resolute was the 4th best personality (after MC, MP and Perf) but Professional has priority over it. Actually loads of personalities have priority over it. 

I don't know why it's happening though. Is it that their professionalism has increased to 18 (desired) or their temperament has reached 10 (which to be fair would also be ok).

The point is that by any definition, a Professional personality is better than Resolute, unless I'm missing something.

Chengfeng Season 22/23

So we managed to finish 7th this Season, which is pretty good, considering we lost our two best players before this season. 4th in goals scored and 9th in goals conceded shows a pretty balanced squad.

Our Youth Intake this season was pretty average, despite having a new and better HoYD. But its nice that we got two promising center backs, but they are not ready for the first team yet: Huang Yongzhi (23A) Zhao Wenqing (23B) 

Our finances are still rubbish, so no Coaching Courses and not even thinking about upgrading the facilities. The deposit stayed around 2 Millions but only because of cash injections by the board.

Some youngsters from the previous Youth Intake broke into the first team, showing some pleasing progress. Especially Ren Qisheng (22C) is a valuable First Team Memeber

Our Topscorer showed some pleasing progress but then was stagnating due to a broken ankle. I think he was out 3 months

 

Also Jiao Gunyau (22A) improved a little.

Our GK will retire now and honestly we might be worse but his salary was way too high, so Im glad. I guess next season we will have no ambition to promote, as I hope I can sell one or two of our best players, due to the financial situation
