Doesn't look like a big loss? I find it strange as most of my poached players are 4 o 5* potential

He is half a _golden_ star though, most poached earlier have been 5 silver ones.... But he is most likely crappy though... I keep track of them and when he appears I'll let you know.

FCUM Season 1: 2021 - 2022

Profile / League / Comps / Intake / Transfers

A new challenge has begun, taking over with FC United of Manchester. I wanted to start somewhere with a better starting foundation, and the level of attendance and starting facilities for the Red Rebels meant that this was a perfect starting point. Having played through season 1 already, it was clear that the squad was of a decent level already, and we ended up finishing 3rd and went into the playoffs. In a match of few chances, Regan Linney scored for us on the counter and we saw the game out 1-0. Onto the final against Boston, and a second half penalty followed by a last minute goal sealed a comfortable win and we were promoted! A fantastic start, and the high attendance meant our finances were in a fantastic place, and we were able to improve both junior coaching and youth recruitment. Luke Griffiths was the standout player for us, he refused to sign a new contract with us but I am hoping he will now we have gone up a level.

The first youth intake was much better than any I had at Salisbury, with a couple of players on the edge of the first team already. Unfortunately the best players are in positions we are well covered in but the youngsters will get a chance next season.

ACN Siena 1904 - 2028/29 - The Poached Sons

As I was going through some of my transfer clauses, I noticed some names that I hadn't seen since I had messages that they had been poached by other clubs. So on that note, I wanted to go through them as they are listed one by one just to give me thoughts on the players that had been poached from my youth setup and decide whether I should point and laugh, or sit down and cry, bemoaning the fact that they weren't playing for me.

1325714264_FrancescoArrighi.thumb.png.ae5d727f133f2054f0af1a702b46511d.png

The first name that was on the list is Francesco Arrighi, a player that had been poached from my by Empoli and arrived in one of their youth intakes when they were playing in Serie A in a season they finished bottom of the pile. He honestly looks like a decent player who like my previous favourite player Damiano Nicotra, who left me for fellow Serie B side Pescara last season, could player as a defensive midfielder first, but player as a centre-back and central midfielder second. He would have been someone that I would have used in the team from time to time as a centre-back, so this is a situation that I wish I could have kept him.

1846593229_AyoubAugero.thumb.png.38409cbf2977a1fd17f0fe17208fa43e.png

The next player is a winger called Ayoub Augero, who I am honestly happy I didn't have in my intakes. Livorno have a player that makes me point and laugh at my local rivals for taking a punt and for it to be wide off the mark.

1016922853_RiccardoBigazzi.thumb.png.0a6b1a0507f948dee1b34aebeb0320e7.png

Riccardo Bigazzi is someone who was poached by one of my divisional rivals. He is a very well-rounded player that I could have seen myself using as a box to box midfielder. Though that being said, while I wish I could have had him in the team, he is in a position that I have so much strength that he could have potentially be lost in the shuffle. He is also wanted by the Serie B team Como, who could be looking to snap him up after his contract expires. I just hope that I could money from him, but it seems like that I might miss out on Bigazzi. This is despite the fact that Bigazzi has actually played a match for Pistoiese too.

1557619604_AdamCaldara.thumb.png.0963f3f6f91b0cde5bf732aaa8fbe15e.png

The next player that was listed as a player that was poached from Siena was Adam Caldara from Pontedara, this guy isn't someone that I'm honestly missing, another player that I can say it was probably for the best that he didn't end up in one of our intakes.

958187726_GabrieleDAngelo.thumb.png.8086890386c7b8b464ad84dacdeb5c49.png

Another player poached by Pistoiese now and Gabriele D'Angelo, who despite having a great name, is a bit rubbish. I can help but feel like that they had been hoping for someone better somehow.

1019782524_VincenzoDiMaria.thumb.png.984599c5ae71cd1cd74c186951afe3f3.png

Now, Vincenzo Di Maria, I wish that I had this guy in my intake, because he would be my first choice right winger at the moment at the age of 18. Livorno have pulled a fast one with this guy, and he has even played for Livorno too. Easily the best player that has been poached from us in regards to current ability so far. I am hoping that he has a successful career, despite playing for the team that I consider to be a rival for promotion.

1636691035_KwasiDiallo.thumb.png.86c86a69c233be4846ff0e482cdd5c94.png

Another played poached by Pontedera, but isn't a player that I would consider missing in anyway. Kwasi Diallo is the first full-back to be in this list, but isn't really that good. He would have struggled to make it into my teams and would probably be release next season if I have to be honest with you.

1196822303_VincenzoPedrazzini.thumb.png.acccb4f19da06ae5806557b9491c6fd0.png

The last player on the list, but not the only player to have made the cross from Siena to Pisa. After our former captain Michele Mazza left us for £500K, they decided to try and poach a goalkeeper from out intakes too. In all honesty though, despite having good potential, he would be down the pecking order, so is probably not a player that I consider missing any time soon, even if he has some decent potential.

So there you have it, there are about 3-4 players that I'm sad to have missed out on in Vincenzo Di Maria, Francesco Arrighi, Riccardo Bigazzi and potentially Vincenzo Pedrazzini, but that's just the tip of the iceberg potentially. Who have you guys lost to poaching and who could you see having really good career when you search your transfer clauses for sell-on clauses and for future transfer fees? I'm actually curious.

ACN Siena 1904 - 2028/29 Season - Youth Intake Preview

  195613543_YouthIntakePreview.png.68de0bba9a22d29b4a7ed6b335bee26c.png

So we had a youth intake preview come in and was informed that despite being another golden generation that we should only be excited for another central midfielder, but the centre-backs and goalkeeper positions weren't listed. It really makes me wonder what I should be expecting going forward from here.

I've just got rid of it!

Lost 5 games already in the Championship

Conceding far too many goals

It was a 4-3-1-2 attacking with full backs and two mez

Yeah... I got rid of my 4-3-1-2 formation with Siena after just conceding far too many goals myself. It feels like that formation is just going to give up far too many goals.

I ended up conceding 25 goals in my first 10 games using it, even if I was scoring lots of goals too.

Gainsborough Trinity

10th season. 21st place League two - FA cup 1st round - Other cup - knocked out 1st round

Fine 1st season in League two - we never ended up in any real problems close to relegation. Nice Youth intake and free transfers to players that didnt develop.

Our cups was horrible - went out 1st round in all.

After fighting with our Norwegian star Tord Jacobsen for all season, i decided to sell him - 600.000 euro in cash and clause with 20% for future sales. Im still not sure it was a good deal. Club is bleeding 200.000 euro monthly, so we need more money for player sales. But with just 15 months left of contract it was time.

Next season we hope for mid table finish - but need better players in the final third.

Our Central defence now looks extremely strong with 3 4--5 star players. Rest of positions are just 2-3 stars.

Widzew Lodz (FM20)

Season 4 (2023-24) - Review

On the pitch

Starting 11

image.thumb.png.7539d3523db5e1001ff777c891ad3091.png

PKO Ekstraklasa - 1st: Another successful season that saw us pick up our third straight title.  This is our record points haul since bouncing back to the Ekstraklasa but came with our lowest goal difference (we scored more and conceded less in both of our previous 2 seasons).  We suffered our biggest defeat since I took charge, a 5-1 defeat to Górnik Zabrze, and as a knee-jerk manager and sore loser I immediately decided my GK was completely at fault and dropped him.  As always seems to happen, we suffered a dip in form - this time in the last 10 or so games when went on a run of 6 games without winning.  This set a modern day record according to my PA, which was nice of them.

image.png.3f7b8ac6482dbde88e1a3de15567a964.png

Polish Cup - Winners: We retained the cup.  We had a decent run to the final, eventually winning on penalties against Cracovia.  Our dip in form at the end of the season coincided with the cup final and we were not at our best in a fairly evenly contested game.

image.png.4fc3b839c79e019631a5571a0b4ab545.png

UEFA Champions League - group stage: We did ourselves proud making our first ever CL group stage (£££).  Our performances in the qualification rounds was very good.  However, our performances were poor (well, terrible) in the group stage.  In true form, I lost my cool and decided to play rotated teams for the group games when it was clear that we were just not good enough to compete.  I decided to focus on our league form instead.  When I feel more confident in our position domestically (despite our success I feel we're one or two bad results from a slump in the league!) I will put more effort into getting into, and then hopefully out of, the CL group stage.

image.png.31365d2711523e4f58a6c3cabf38cc1b.png

Off the pitch

Youth intake: Another great youth intake, 2 in a row now.  We were promised a good GK in a golden generation intake, and he looks a real talent who could be our first choice in 12 months (until he concedes 5 and is promptly dropped in disgrace!).

Our most impressive players are still our excellent Polish wingers (Konrad Gutowski and Mateusz Malec) and our academy CB Miroslaw Klepczarek (21a), all of whom have been called up to the national team this season.  Our veteran CM Mateusz Mozdzen has continued his steady decline but remains a fixture in our team due to lack of CM options.

Strange thing has just happened to me - I had a youngster in my U19 squad who had 1 star current ability and 3 star potential ability - fringe player who had 6 months left on his current contract.

A lower league team's U19 has offered him a contract. I was planning to release him on the end of his contract so I wasn't concerned, however they signed him immediately and overpaid like hell for him, even though he's a weak player.

Has this happened to anyone? 275k€ with potential of 700k€ is so much for a fringe player like this and honestly if they offered 1000€ I would gladly sell him during this transfer window. Not complaining though, but seems non-logical.

A better season than last year. We were in with a shot at promotion too when I went to bed last night. However, when I opened it up this morning we lost our next two games 4-0 and 5-0, so I began to think the FM gods had conspired against me. But we were 3rd with a game to go, and Tobermore beat us to end our chances of a shot at the playoffs. But I think we are in a really good position to challenge next year, especially if we can keep upgrading our junior coaching and youth recruitment like we have.

Monaghan was outstanding in his final year for us, but like McIlhone found himself out of a starting role when the youth intake came in. We've managed to shave a lot off our average age, and the ability of the team has also increased.

So, my match against Manchester United was a serious blip.  We spent most of the next two matches getting spanked by everyone in the Premier League.  Not just 1-0 or 2-1 matches.  I'm talking 5-0, 6-1 or worse.  I saw the writing on the wall and to help keep my blood pressure down.  I stepped away from South Shields and started fresh but not without bringing a friend along for the journey.

20210120085120_1.thumb.jpg.fe31ecd8ed22c9ccc20a41b685222279.jpg

Despite my HoYD’s excitement, this intake doesn’t look like anything special, but on the other hand, our squad has improved the last couple of seasons, so perhaps they only look mediocre in comparison.

Apart from possibly the central defender, because I always need more of them, they’ll all be out of sight and out of mind for the foreseeable future.

20210120085150_1.thumb.jpg.70a09fa21f00cda692926b8c669359e3.jpg

Jack Collett 13a – Not that we need another striker, and he seems to have very low CA. He is supposed to have the most PA by a long way though, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

YP9 Review

974612857_yp9review.thumb.jpg.5ec53de811dab2264c866b4b21d93191.jpg

Michael Morgan 9a – A striker. I noticed at the end of last season how much he’d improved. He picked up an injury as soon as I played him, but was fit and ready to be a starter from the beginning of this season, and is now an absolute star.

Dominic Clarke 9b – One of the army of backup goalies.

Daniel McAllister 9c – A right back who hasn’t played or developed very much, but I do need a right back. At the moment my choices are between a 35 year old who is going downhill fast, and a striker with a finishing of 1 who I’ve trained and used as a right back for the last few years. It is extremely doubtful though that McAllister is any kind of long term solution though.

Pete Molyneaux 9d – A striker who’ll probably be released at some point.

Iago Marín 9g – A central defender who had the occasional game, nearly always as a sub. I’ve kind of given up on him now, but he’s in my top 6 central defenders. Because I only have 6 central defenders, and Iago is one of about 2 players natural in that position.

I've just checked, and I'm not.

What the hell!

Anyway;

After 12 mostly boring seasons, I’ve finally got the excitement I’d been craving. Be careful what you wish for.

With 1 match to go, we are top of the league, 1 point ahead of Kent rivals Maidstone.

We both lost our last matches, and the last few games before that were incredibly close and stressful.

There’s only 1 automatic promotion spot, and frankly, the way we’re playing, I wouldn’t fancy our chances in the playoffs, so it’s probably all or nothing.

Playoff First Round

Bye

Playoff Semi-final (if applicable)

Spoiler

Folkestone           1-3    Havant & Waterlooville

3-0 down at half time.

Our best player Ellis Drake will almost certainly leave now, so it’s hard to say if we’ll be better now season or not. However, a lot of our first team are very young and developing well, so we may be able to overcome our defensive problems. Really our problem at the end of the season was more that our 2 strikers, by far our best players, didn’t score. I mean, not at all. Not one single goal in our last 5 matches of the season from our strikers. They’re too young to know, but it’s likely that they don’t like big matches.

Top Goalscorer – Michael Morgan 9a – 42

If Ellis Drake does indeed leave now, he’ll do so having not once been our top scorer, but he did notch 38.

However, Morgan is probably even better than him now, and he’s tied up for the next 3 years.

Highest Average Rating (minimum 10 matches played) – Michael Morgan 9a – 7.34

Man of The Match – Michael Morgan 9a – 9

Most Valuable Player– Michael Morgan 9a

So the King is dead (or at least leaving so dead to me), long live the King.

Most Appearances (Regens) – Jason Ramsay 1a – 598

My nephew still.

Most Goals (Regens) – Ellis Andrews 2c  - 219

Only added 4 goals this season. If Ellis Drake does leave, he might regain his first team place, but it’s far from certain.

So, demoralised, on to the playoffs.

Season Review 2071/72

Promoted back to the Premier League as Champions. 100 points, 135 goals

Jamie Bateson top scorer again with 50, that is now 11 years running! He has 309 goals in 408 apps. He is 28yrs old so probably only has 2/3 years left him in at the top level.

Lost 4 of the first 10 games, then only lost 2 of the next 36! Slight tweak in tactic made all the difference. Let's hope it works in PL

Gumbs wants to leave again :seagull:

Garbarnia Kraków - Intake 2026/27

Would say another poor quality intake. There are few players with good potential but over bad personalities. C'mon game we need to back to ekstraklasa! Laskoś 04a left us but we got potentialy next generation keeper. This year without foreign players.

Teie IF Season 2033 review

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

Pretty much a status quo this season. Same position and only a few points more. The main issue is still our lack of going professional, and I'm trying to save up money for that, but we don't get in too much yet. As long as we stay up we get a fair bit of prize money, so we go again and hope to improve more next season.

In Norgesmesterskapet we beat Orkla and Stord before losing to Strømsgodset in the 3rd round.

Youth players of note:

NwrsNZp.png

Another great season and still provides loads of goals. Easily our best player still.

Our goalkeeper had another solid season, even with few clean sheets. Provided another 5 goals this season as well.
