Is anyone else using steam cloud for screenshots? I haven't been able to upload any pictures in a few days now. :(

I've had some minor problems with it before but nothing like this. I haven't changed any settings as far as I know.

This might have been asked before I know most do the challenge in a larger nation where money might not be an issue later on so getting upgrades etc is easier.  But can it still be able to at a lower nation where money is harder to come buy for league position or player sales? Or do people recommend a larger nation?

depends...personally I find bigger leagues more difficult as it takes more time to go up (atleats for me). I did the YC  also in Poland for instance (didnt docuemtn here) but there you get players right away that can play in the second level.

In netherlands you get one in three years...but otherwise they need 2-3 seasons to mature. so in smaller countries you will get newgens that can help your team right away. and  once you have a decent team you might promote.

I think netherlands is quite nice country for YC as playing in top level gives you tons of cash so you can upgrage quite quickly.

SVV Scheveningen - Season 7 - 30/31

neOQIuy.png

So it has been a while since I updated. More than a week. I needed to get away from FM for a while for few reasons, one of them being that my topstriker got sold (release clause activated) for only 1,5mln. Other is that I really miss doing transfers. So played some Paradoxgames....but this weekend im back at FM.

So this season...was AMAZING for Scheveningen. Far above expectation. Without further delay...the League:

Player Stats / Transfers

VAN SON GK of Year

62itZZv.png

5th spot and EUROPE BABY! Only on goal difference as we have a  positive saldo of 16 with AZ had 15!. Really lucky as we lost last game 2-5 to PSV. Ajax champion, 4th different team in 4 years to become champion!. This year we had 3 really poor teams, normally the last 3 get around 25 points. And  Sparta in Champions League! Netherlands went up to 6th spot in Europe so we have 3 spots in CL now!.

But back to us, this year was amazing, we have improved greatly, not only did we not get slaughtered anymore against the bigs...we even got some points! With two draws 1-1 vs the Champion Ajax! and a home win vs Feyenoord!  VAN SON was amazing and even won Goaly of the season award! Overal our team lost A-KUM for 1,5 mln to Club Brugge but we managed to have some youngsters step up. Especially VAN GELDORP who joined as rotation striker the first team, took his chance when EVERS got injured and progressed so much he is now 4 star striker! There is interest in EVERS and he is worth 2,5mln so I'm gonna try to sell him as I have two youngsters at same level in u-18. DRENTHE is knockin on first team door but KLUITERS still plays strong and has the exp. At some point I will have to switch them as DRENTHE has still potential to grow. WINTER was stuck at 2 stars and got surpassed by Toon JANSEN. Sadly I could not sell WINTER yet. KNUDSEN surpassed out captian SIEMENS-BREGA and took first team spot on the midfield. Most important of all I managed to extend contracts of important players, KRUIPER, ADENIE and VAN DER MEULEN. ADENIE might leaves us though as I could only up his clause to 5mln...and some foreign clubs are sniffing around (Anderlecht, Porto and Wolves).

Cup

We had a brilliant run in the cup this year. We got really lucky with the teams we got but still. First two rounds we got amateurs. Third round we beat Den Bosch at Home, In QF we beat ADO away....that was a huge suprise. and in SF we beat VVV Venlo. Not really the most difficult teams...Sadly in the Final...FEYENOORD was a tad bit stronger (alot stronger). so sadly we didnt win our first TROPHY.

Got my first offer shortly after the Cup final...and it was from the classical three, PSV!

Job Offer PSV

Further this season saw alot of speculations regarding new owners! We got two bids...but both failed sadly. Especially the British one looked interesting as they wanted to get the club public...never had seen that before in FM. Could have been a tycoon.

Crowhurst target / Collapse 1

Local target / Collapse 2

We are still up for sale so next seaosn could see new owners.

Stadium Exp

Somehow our last year expansion didnt finish...so this year they try again. Bigger one. In meantime we will play in Delft in an 18k stadium next year! Lets see how much audience we can get. Y-Rec finally at Exceptional!

Youth!

Predicted Youth intake

GgBP7a9.png

Another Golden Generation! Interesting intake TBH. Very Diverse and that makes me happy. Alot of defenders so that also makes me happy!. First time we get an Iraqi player, Chinese and Ugandan!. Two Danish Vikings to add to that.

Top 3 prospects:

The Iraqi Striker

Hy0iaRq.png

Just WOW! 15 year old and 15 FINISHING! WHAAAT This could be somthing here!

ztIBq7G.png

This Dutch GIANT (188 cm at age of 15) might be our future goaly! Handling and REFLEXES at 13 already!

fgIWdci.png

Another Claidel...He needs to work on Heading, but Marking at 13....Tackling 16...and a Giant (189cm)...Plus look at him...dude looks already 30!

I really have huge hopes for these 3!

Some youth data:

End of Season Review

Season 2030/31

Unió Esportiva Extremenya

UE Extremenya - Wikipedia

Season Summary

Another domestic double, including an unbeaten league campaign should be a quality season.  But heartache in Europe did put a dampener on things.

Season Details

Champions League - We made it through to the second qualifying round before being completely outclassed by Czech side Slavia Prague, who beat us by ten goals to one over the two legs as we dropped into the Europa League.

Europa League - Moldovans Sheriff Tiraspol shaved a very tight tie as we dropped into the Europa Conference League.

Europa Conference League - We had an absolute shocker.  After winning the away leg at Georgian outfit Dila Gori by two goals, we imploded at home, losing four one for an aggregate defeat of four goals to three.  So close to the group stage again.

League Table - We are now so far ahead of everyone else, we went the entire league season unbeaten.

League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were very consistent and didn't lose a single game.

Copa Constitució - We reached the final again and dominated Sant Julià to complete another domestic double.

Supercopa Andorrana - Another disappointment as rivals U. E. Santa Coloma narrowly defeated us to retain the pre season curtain raiser.

Pre Season Friendlies - Due to our European commitments, we only had time for three games, all of which we won and we kept three clean sheets.

Squad - Our depth is now far too good for this division.  It all rests on European football now.

Squad Dynamics - As lovely as it always is.

Transfers In - None

Transfers Out 1 & 2 - I sold a few fringe players and quite a few youngsters left on loan.

Youth Candidates - Another great intake with Andorran left back Abel González YP31C99 going straight into the starting eleven.

Finances - We still have a very healthy bank balance.

Key Players

Abel YP29A65 - The teenage goalkeeper has played his final game for us as he leaves for Spanish giants Atlético Madrid.

Nélson Pinto YP28F54 - Another exceptional campaign from the left winger.

Juan Montaner YP28A49 - The central midfielder had a sensational season though is refusing to sign a new deal, so he has one more year at the club.

José Góis YP39D68 - Playing on the right wing, the teenager had a good first season in the first team.  So good in fact, he is now a full Andorran international.

Ricardo Rocha YP30C83 - Despite just turning seventeen, the youngster is already one of the best defenders at the club.

Next Season

As I fully expect a domestic repeat, progress in Europe will be the true test.

Siena

Season 2 - 2022/23

The season:

Pre-season was somewhat disrupted by the fact that we parted ways with two influential, but too old (39 and 35) players. They were no longer part of the first 11, and on way too expensive and way too long contracts.

That meant I struggled at the start of the season, but it ended up being a successful one:

Serie C/B - 2022/23 - Table

Finishing in the top 10 meant Promotion playoffs, and instead of crashing out in the first round, I surprisingly enough won the three first rounds. In the Quarter finals, the second placed teams from the three Serie C's enter the playoffs, and I was drawn against one of them; Livorno. I beat them 3-0 at home, but completely collapsed in the second leg. I lost 0-3, meaning the tie went to extra time. Livorno scored three more times during the extra 30 mins, making it 6-3 Livorno on aggregate.

Anyway, top 6 and QF in the promotion playoffs is a great achievement, as the bookies predicted my Siena to end in 18th place.

Youth intake:

Another golden generation, they said. Well, I don't hold my breath.

Youth intake preview

Youth intake

Youth development and expectations for next season:

My first eleven is pretty much set at this point. My goalkeeper is probably my best player, and I have three senior CB's I trust. One of them is 32, so I need one of the youth players to take his place in a year or two. My right back is an 18 year-old with 5 star potential, tied down to a long term contract. He's not THAT good, but he'll do. My left back is probably better as a CB, but I need what is probably my best LB at LM until one of the young players can take the left midfield spot. Maybe Finotelli in this years youth intake can be the one?

DM is a problem area for me, as I only have one, and he is 31 now. I am also a winger short as Denis Mahmudov (33) declined rapidly this season. As he is one of my top earners, he will not be getting a new contract, and is currently at the club on a month-by-month basis. The attackers I have at my disposal are okay. Lithuanian Rokan Krusnauskas scored 18 times this season, while Paduano and Forte scored 14-15 each. They are 27, 29 and 28 years old, so I really hope one of my young attacking newgens can make some giant strides this season.

As of now, July 1st, the media prediction is 20th place. On paper, I have the worst squad in the league. That tells me it might be hard to finish in the top half of the league this time around, but I'll just carry on as normal - trying to develop the young players and my coaching/recruitment/facilities. A major bump in the road is the fact that the club loses a lot of money each month. Before the first season I had £2,5M, last year it was down to £1,6M, now it is £900K. My players are barely worth anything, so I need a takeover, a promotion or new sponsor deals. The income from sponsors is, however, the only thing saving me from bankruptcy as it is, so I fear that any new deals might actually turn out to be lower than what I have now.

So, I won't be promoted any time soon, but I hope to develop players who can replace some of the 27-28 year olds before they are 30+ and decline.

Merthyr Town - Season 2026/27 Review

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

That's what I'm talking about! We did it, winner of the Vanarama National South! It was a hard fought battle, though, and even though it doesn't really look like it from the final table, Havant & Waterlooville was our bigger competitor for most of the season. It actually looked like a real two horse race for a long time, but both teams had a horrific ending to the season. Bath City, Barnet, and Dartford on the other hand, had great finishes and caught up with Havant & Waterlooville, but we just barely manage to hold on to the coveted top spot and direct promotion to the Vanarama National! I think we will struggle next season, but a promotion is welcome none the less!

In the FA Cup we beat Grays Athletic, Tonbridge Angels, and Sutton United before we lost to QPR in the 1st round.

In the FA Trophy we beat Mickleover and Haringey before losing to Bromley in the 4th round.

Youth

The previews are pretty good.

K2y0Q7a.png

The intake is actually pretty good, even if the potential is lessened than compared to the previous ones. I think it's the actual level of quality in the squad who has improved a bit to counteract here.

hUcoyGC.png

We are getting stocked with talented midfielders, and Gavin Mann 27c continues that for us. Though his very high aggression and very low tackling is likely to cause some bookings...

I like the diversity here and that the personalities are better then the last time. But again no 5-star-players. As usual i will try to sign those with higher potential and additionally those with good personalities.

So my board decided to form Atlético CP B at the beginning of the season. I can see why they've made this team, but I'm also concerned about it because of the money we have been losing over the last season. With a new team I can see it being even worse than before. Yes, it allows me to register more players in the league, but given our finances, it's probably not the right time to deal with something like this.

squeaky bum time with those final four matches!

Yeah, it was really tough, and we got saved by one man in the last two...

Adam Amos 22i scored in each of the last 3. Including the most embarrassing 1-1 draw to Staines. They ended the season on 10 points and no wins. And that was one of their points... To be fair though, they deserved that point from us. All my players were nervous wrecks at that point. I think I have some low pressure attributes in the squad, since they seem to shut down whenever things go down to the wire.

FC Messina - Season Review 2022/23

Well, we struggled mightily, and were several times during the season in the relegation-playoff places. But in the end we managed to stay clear of the relegation. But it was close, what we lack most is consistent good passing from the midfield and scoring from the attackers. Too many of our passes are generally to the opposition, which gives them great counter-chances. Hav to work on that via tactics.

The finances look quite bad. Not my fault, i stayed 1/3 below the wage budget, and all those senior-player contracts were made before i took charge. Guess anyway i will have to let some players go in order to save money for the next years.

This all comes down to the projection that the next two years will be especially tough. Aging players, bad finances, need to sell and youngsters not ready - all together in a relegation battle. Sounds like fun ;)

Screen-Shot-2021-05-25-16-27-01.79.png

Key Players:

Joao da Silva - 6.98

Still our best defender, and occasionally a goal via header.

Spoiler

Screen-Shot-2021-05-25-16-30-15.35.png

Francesco Marone - 6.87

Most of the times he is a very good goalkeeper. but in some matches he cant catch even a weak shot.

Spoiler

Screen-Shot-2021-05-25-16-31-43.19.png

Gianmarco Picciono - 6.94

With 19 goals finally our best scorer - the first season was obviously a bad season for him. But the amount of chances missed is high with him.

Well, there are suddenly two clubs from Messina in the Serie C/C. Besides us also "A.C.R. Messina". Read up on it a bit in Wikipedia, I believe it was once upon a time just one club. Anyway, we share the same stadium, but are not rivals. Wonder how that all will play out ...

It does take a season to get used to how the fixtures are laid out , but it does give plenty of training time for your youngsters. @JLAB

My PC is my vice in life.  I am medically retired from work, am teetotal on medical grounds, don’t smoke etc etc. So I spent a fortune on a then top of the range custom built PC, with 128GB of memory, two top graphics cards, a monitor that cost £800 on its own and it is my pride and joy,  it also means it processes very fast.  When I holiday in England for one season to enable me to pick a newly promoted side, it take less than six minutes to holiday the months needed.

Can I ask what the full specs are?

Also was wondering what your naming conventions are for your youth intakes? I get the 29c etc but what is the H101 etc after?

How important is the "favorite formation" for HoYD's? I want to do this challenge using formations like 352, 343 and 361, but it's hard to find a good HoYD with a 3 ATB formation

It impacts what type of players you get in your intakes, but it's not 100% at any rate.

Quote from the opening post:

Quote

Head of Youth Development (HoYD)
The club’s HoYD is responsible for bringing Newgens into the club. He will influence what “type” of players are selected and can partially or fully pass on his personality to some of these Newgens. The “type” of players selected refers to a player’s position and style, for instance a HoYD with a preferred 4-5-1 formation and a Technical Coaching Style may produce more technically styled midfielders than another HoYD.
The HoYD will also influence the rare “freak” or exceptional Newgens that come through, modifying their ability and style.
This role is filled by the HoYD by default, however if none is employed whichever staff member is set to be responsible for youth development will fill this role.

Anyone else have problems with Gyazo images ? i can't see them anymore on my computer and others that i asked to check, couldn't either.

For example, the images from Ronaldo Beckham's post aren't visible for me?

Merthyr Town - Season 2027/28 Review

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

Well that was quite a good season for our first go in the Vanarama National! We are clearly a bit short at competing at the top, but we are no whipping boy either! It's all about stabilising at this level now, and keep getting in talented players and then make push, or try to make enough money to go professional. Those are the two closest goals for us, I think. Some of the bigger teams around have started to sniff at a lot of my players, but not many bids yet. A few poaching attempts, but I've been able to give out new contracts to the talented ones for the most part, even if a few have slipped out. I'm beginning to see the outline of good team here, but we have some lacking points. We miss an excellent goalkeeper after we lost our best, and we miss a left winger and another striker. If we were to get those positions done in the next few years, we have a chance.

In the FA Cup we beat Hampton & Richmond and Preston before losing to (League One!) Sheffield United in the 2nd round.

In the FA Trophy we beat Welling United before we lost to Spennymoor in the 4th round.

Youth

I don't know what to say about this preview... excellent, but everyone are poor...?

Not a bad intake, but of course not as good as the previous ones. Still, I think we can use some of these players.

Carl Wells 28d is a very good attacking left back and I he should prove most useful.

Dorchester Town - Season 29/30

Transfers - League Table

We started our second season in the Premier League nicely, being steadily in the top five at first. Then our star player Max Geddes couldn't find the net anymore and we started to slip to mid-table. There was no one to really step up and cover him. Poor finishing in front of goal meant that we eventually finished 10th. Liverpool won all their home matches but still didn't win the title!

We lost against Tottenham in Carabao Cup semi-final. Lost to Chelsea in FA Cup 5th round.

I don't know why but in Euro Cup we played like a different team: after group stage (2nd behind Napoli) we won Ajax, Real San Sebastian, Napoli and AS Monaco before meeting Chelsea in the final. They were clearly the better team but we won by penalties!

Steam Cloud didn't work for a while so I'm missing the actual intake screenshot. Preview (golden generation). The intake was very good, I signed 7 players: Owen Winsor and Dave Walsh being the best.

Next season we have our first chance in the Champions Cup. In the league I'm finding it very hard to beat the top teams, especially away. I'm still hoping to make it somewhere top-half.

Youth Intake 2024

I am quite disappointed with this intake. Many many unambitious and not very talented players. Will sign just the most talented and those with good personalities

I managed to avoid relegation on the last day of the season despite losing 5-1 to Bayer Leverkusen.

Luckily for me FC Augsburg, Schalke and Wolfsburg were worse then us.

We managed to get £35 million in prize money which is amazing for such a small club.

Samuel Adekoya was top scorer again but with only 13 goals for the season. This was mostly due to him picking up a lot of injuries that kept him out for 12 weeks spread around the season.

SVV Scheveningen - Season 8 - 31/32

MipSu2T.png

As you can see the Banner has changed a bit, that is due to the fact that our 3rd season in Eredivisie we played in Delft! In Sportpark Brasserskade of DHC Delft. Next season we go back to Houtrust.

UKPTeyQ.png

Player Stats / Transfers

TopScorer / GK of the Year / GoldenBoy

Feyenoord gets its 17th championship and second in three years. 5th place. Great imporvements. More points, more games won and more goals scored.  Sadly this year we missed out on europe. First due to fact we scored one goal less than Vitesse! and because we lost in Playoff final against Heracles. That was very unfortunate.  Two red cards and 3 injuries did us. Overal still happy with this spot.

We sold EVERS for 1,1mln to Dordrecht (that relagated in playoffs) Good deal. Other youngsters surpassed him. We also offloaded some youngsters who had no chance getting into first team. That will continue the coming years. I have decided to be a bit harsher, we do not need 100 players on contracts. SEDNEY and VAN SON are the heroes of this season. SEDNAY becoame the TopScorer and his value is now 5mln! and VAN SON again the best goaly in the league. Interest in both is building up so lets see if we can keep them. ADENIE extended his contract and since than he has been playing less good. He stagnated and has not been improving now for 1,5 season. Either due to fact he was unhappy or he just reached his potential. The first 11 stayed the same as last season. DZAFIC got called up to Bosnian national team, just to get injured on his first training there. Tough world. I was hoping he could get some caps so his value would rise, as i'm thinking of selling him. PINAS on rotation has had a better season and they are on same stars. VAN GELDORP also won the Golden Boy award! That was very surprising, his value since than has sky rocketed to 7,5mln. He has a release clause of 10mln, but so far no clubs are interested.

Job Offer Betis

I had one job offer, from Betis Sevilla! First foreign job offer.

I32YjSz.png

Yeah...this was our shortlived europe adventure. We drew freakin Southampton! 2 time winner of Conference League in past 4 years. That was teh worst team we could have drawn.  We did draw them at home...but away was just horror.

We finally also have new owners. We had three takeover attempts this year. The last one of a Local businessman suceeded. They also pomped 5mln into the club right away so we used that money to improve the training grounds! Also they cut our link to Ajax so we no longer have a big brother. We did get our first foreign affiliate, Dessel from Belgium.

Takeover / Cash Injection / Cut Links with Ajax

Data so far

M2suXyb.png

Small changes, I added the dutch cup and Europe history. Further you can see that the investments in Training and Youth facilities are off to a good start.  And biggest news so far! New owners started to build new stadium!

jSh7Lx5.png

John Blok was the manager of Scheveningen in teh amateurs...and a club Legend it seems. But Awesome...the Seaside Arena  with 21k  capacity! We have to wait 3 seasons  but it will be worth it.

Sadly it will also cost us 3mln per year. That is alot of monies...so if we relagate we will go bankrupt.

Youth Intake:

Not the Golgend Gen of last two seasons...two Serbians, two Surinamees, a Curacaoan and a Swede. Not very diverse.  The biggest three talents:

FC United of Manchester

Errea is named new technical sponsor of FC United of Manchester!

Our preview was ok I guess, but nothing spectacular:

There is some depth to the group we have had, though no one ready for first team action just yet.  Three right backs is disappointing as I am going to have to retrain two of them.

Messina Season Review 2023/24

It was a fantastic season! We started slow, staying during fall somewhere in mid-table-region. After christmas, in spring, we really got a great streak, and won against all smaller teams, and usually managed to draw against the top ones. In the end we reached the promotion-playoffs. The results were as follows:

1. Round: 2-1 against Paganese

2. Round: 2-1 against Catanzano

3. Round: 2-3 and 4-2 against Mantova

Quarter Final: 1-1 and 3-0 against Juve Stabia

Semi Final: 0-0 and 3-5 against Carrpi

Final: against Livorno we won 1-0

The final was breathtaking after an exhausting Playoff-phase. We were outplayed at times, but managed to hang on to the 1-0 after we scored an early penalty.

Screen-Shot-2021-05-27-00-05-04.05.png

One more thing has to be mentioned. In that final our second goalkeeper, Monti was in goal - because our first goalkeeper sustained a hip injury which will him keep sidelined for at least 6 months. Yes, again the main goalkeeper is gone ...i can only hope that history doesnt repeat itself.

I was able to sell some players, but we kept losing money. I can only hope that one can earn enough in Serie B to not anymore going the way towards bankruptcy.

Well, we are now in the Serie B. I am happy, but fear for the worst - a season of many losses, with quick relegation. Especially since I can be not sure when and if our main goalkeeper will return. As mentioned above i can only hope that at least our finances will be stabilized by the money in the second division. And now I am off celebrating - those playoff games were really exhausting.

Key players:

Gianmarco Piccioni - 7.01

Again a great season of our best striker. His 19 goals helped us secure a playoff spot. In the playoffs he was partially injured.

Joao da Silva - 6.93

Spoiler

After that mentally exhausting playoffs with Messina i decided to take a break from Italy. Since i really enjoy this challenge immensely i realised that I might not being able to play soon with the club of the town i am currently living in on FM21 (which is the first FM since 2016 or so I am playing) - Eintracht Trier in Germany. Therefor i started a second challenge-save with them.

I am well aware that this save is based on an unofficial database (since Trier is playing in the 5th german tier IRL), and therefor is only partially "valid". But I will anyway continue with Messina sooner or later ;)

Mirassol FC - Brazil

2027 - Season 6

Serie A - 15th

Season Summary

Back in the top flight, our priority was survival. We started fairly poorly with two defeats and two draws but got a really good win in our fifth game. And our season carried on like that. Every time it looked like we might go on a poor run we managed to grind out a win from somewhere, keeping our heads just above water. We pretty much stayed 15th the whole season but as it meant survival, I was happy with that. A much better performance than last time we were in the Serie A but still a long way to go

27leaguetavle.JPG.e10e2c2a441e0e9d597c18f5fec5e1e1.JPG

Players

Richard 25A - Last time we were in the top flight it was Rafael Silva who almost kept us up, with 50 goals in 56 games. Richard started as his understudy but outperfromed him in the state championship. Silva was poor in the league proper and Richard took his chance when it was given him to finish the season as easily our first choice striker. Silva was poor, with only 8 goals in 30 games. At 32, his time is over. But Richard got 26 in 36 and only turned 18 in the last few weeks of the season. His value shot up as well, which is nice

27Richard25A.thumb.JPG.06b2bd90126793f86a24e48e54144749.JPG  27richardshoots.JPG.956987d320d7754a4859fd604f31bd2b.JPG

And for a 17 year old he has some impressive facial hair. Good on ya Richard, lad!

Eliomar 23D - I love it when things like this happen. He was a reserve, got stuck in the first team when my first choice left back got injured and did really well. Now our first choice left back with lots of interest being shown in him

27eliomar.thumb.JPG.df2860e984ca9ff97407a922e811ffba.JPG

Kevemar - I'm at that stage now that the youth coming through are all better than my starting squad. In a season or two I'll be able to put out my first youth team only first XI but for now Kevemar is the main one standing in the way of that. As we have improved as team, so has he as a player and he's now our captain and first name on the team sheet

27kevem.JPG.9baee62047a5764b2c58c10396958b5e.JPG

Youth

The quality of our U20 team is crazy atm. With another set of improvements I was looking forward to this intake and was promised a third golden generation in a row!

27youthpreview.JPG.45d0941e612e2b26be57c7baae2b436b.JPG

The final intake would have been a bit underwhelming if it wasn't for Abdullhai Boniface. What a name! and Nigerian as well! I love it when different nationalities come through your youth ranks

27youthintake.JPG.14d1e40e242de5f603334c0c0550099f.JPG

He's not got the best personality but he could still make it:-

27boniface.JPG.22963fe5a7c6fbc4403c9c3a6c8a42f7.JPG

None of the other prospects fill me with optiism but i signed a load anyway. You never know.

Finances and Upgrades

Our finances are looking really healthy, and once it looked like we might be able to stay up the board were happy to pay for another range of upgrades. Our youth set-up is looking really really nice now. Next seasons intake should hopefully be a good one!

Merthyr Town - Season 2028/29 Review

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

We keep building the squad and we stayed around the same level as last season. And I'm happy, I'm slowly making some money that I'm trying to put into the facilities, and we are getting good intakes with slightly better players. Things are looking good, and I hope this continues for a long time yet.

In the FA Cup we beat Slough Town and Solihull Moors before getting thumped by Leyton Orient in the 2nd round. To be fair we got a red card after 7 minutes, and we were heavy underdogs before the match.

In the FA Trophy we beat Boston United, Stourbridge, Gillingham, York City, and Worthing to reach the final. There we faced Bromley, who had already won the Vanarama National and are heading into League Two next season. We fought like gods, and manage to barely win it 3-2 to claim our first ever cup win!

Youth

Back to good looking previews!

6QodqbS.png

A pretty good intake, but I think I need to switch our my HoYD, the personalities are not good generally, even if there is a few good ones here.

How did you get those newgen faces? :)

there is a mod called, FMNEWGANv2. Google it. It has more or less 130k computer generated pics that look real. they split them up based on ethnicity. you can use their  tool to add the pictures or you can add them manually.

I do it manually ( I add in pref  to see the ID of players) than I add them in graphics/faces (do not forget to add them to the config file) If you need any help PM me :)

question to longer career players...how do you guys stay interested?

its becoming a slow...tug of game ATM...and progres is really slow. based on my youth players I will probably end up around same poition for next 4-5 seasons untill I get a few star youngsters. It is not an easy challange.

Well, instant result is a must. I'm having problems staying motivated too.

I'm a bit stuck at the moment, we got a decent team for Premier League although staff say we are "mostly operating at Championship level".

Facilities are all maxed out, I get lots of decent players which is nice. I still decided to change my HOYD (0,5 rep) to a German one (2,0 rep) and see if it has any effect.

question to longer career players...how do you guys stay interested?

its becoming a slow...tug of game ATM...and progres is really slow. based on my youth players I will probably end up around same poition for next 4-5 seasons untill I get a few star youngsters. It is not an easy challange.

Well, for me part of it trying to see where my newgens are coming from (hence all the maps I post!), as well as seeing how many apps, goals or assists my players provide. So I keep spreadsheets or things that I find interesting like statistics and international involvement and such. And I also follow the careers of my former players until they retire and take a bit of joy in seeing them succeed.

Here are the current stats (as of the end of the last season) of my first intake:

Here are current and former players and their international careers:

That's my way of holding on in the "inbetween years" after stabilising and before the push for promotion.

If you struggle with these things, then smaller nations could be something for you. It's easier in smaller countries to become good domestically, but you would take longer time to make progress in Europe.

Got a decent looking youth intake preview from my 2nd Head of Youth Development. Here's hoping that I get good players in all of the positions he has mentioned. I need players in all of them.

Atlético CP – Season 2 – 2022/23 Youth Intake

If there was one thing that I was desperate to have, it was a good intake. It's taken me until my 2nd season to get there, but we finally have our first good youth intake.

João Amaral is the first of two exciting players that makes me really keen to see what we can do. He is an attacking midfielder who has the stats for a ball winning midfielder, but I can see a box to box midfielder in him, even if my backroom staff think he can be trained to be a DM.

Ivan Rodrigues is the man who has me the most excited, because he is a goalkeeper that I have been hoping would turn up to help with our rather weak strength in the position. He has a lot of potential and I am excited to see if he can become our leading keeper within the next couple of seasons.

We did have another player with decent potential in the form of Gonçalo Silva, who my backroom staff believe could be a good defender. To be honest, while he is not the tallest, I can see why believe he would be a good centre-back.

João Frade is a player that my backroom staff believe can be a good right winger, but I am looking at making him a left winger instead, as a result of only using wingers at this point in time. His 5 finishing doesn't lead me to believe he could be the best of strikers.

The last person that I want to talk about is Joaquim Freitas, and if Gonçalo Silva had problems with his height, Freitas does not. Standing at 6'7", he is easily the tallest 15 year old I've ever met and he might still be able to grow taller still. Still, he needs a lot of work if he is to be a good player for Atlético CP in the future.
