[England EFL League One] Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to England's EFL League One here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for England's EFL League One should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling, league table sorting rules and match rules.

Accrington Stanley train at the Highams Sports Hub (https://www.stanleytrust.co.uk/highams-sports-hub/) and/or Hyndburn Sports Centre but it's still listed incorrectly as Preston University - they've not trained at the university for absolutely years.

Thanks joshey - good to start the thread with a solid data error. Apologies for not getting the training ground. It has been added to the database now and will be included in the Release database.

Cannot find any evidence of an U23 squad apart from Brannan's job title. I cannot find any matches played by the U23s this season, for example. If you could provide some evidence of the U23s playing friendlies or in a league, then I'll happily update that.

DG - those seem like pre-season friendlies, which do not prove the club has a U23 team that performs during the season.

Reaching out to the club is usually not advised, for legal reasons. If any info isn't freely available, then it's best to leave it out.

DG - Ogogo is a short-term loan that happened after the transfer window closed, which we do not include. We only include standard (ie window-to-window' loans).
It is hard-coded that Rovers move into 'The Quarters' (their name for the Almondsbury Training Centre) on 26th October in-game, mirroring the day they moved in real life. If this does not occur on that date in your beta-game, please do let me know.

Plymouth Argyle. I know bias comes into it but every year I feel we get hard done by on FM CA/PA ratings, most of our squad is down as having League Two quality when we’ve started really well in League One. Best example of this is Luke Jephcott, scored 7 goals in 14 starts at aged 19 and now aged 20 in league one has 6 goals in 8 games. showing lots of promise as a poacher but game has him as league two standard with potential to be League One player. He’s already proving more than capable at this level at the age of 20 and is a regular Callum for Wales u21’s. As with our 20 year old goalkeeper Mike Cooper. Also believe other players such as Panutche Camara, and Conor Grant are deserving of a few stat boosts but understand this is subjective and opinion.

@PAFC_Dugout I've had a quick look at Jephcott, his CA & PA aren't in bad positions. In some circumstances he has a potential that could see him be a lower end PL player.

Remember the staff in game are flawed and not perfect judges. It is subjective but if you're wanting to comment on attributes it needs to be bang on point. Which attributes? What should they be? Why?

Jephcott is rated based on starting 12 games before this season. I've watched him play and train since he was 16 years old and his current ability reflects the fact he can play in League 1 whilst his potential ability as pointed out by @santy001 could potentially reach low end PL ability but is dynamic and could change. His attributes fairly reflect him as of the start of this season in my opinion, he has all the attributes in place that are getting him goals in real life (anticipation and off the ball) with his finishing also being at a good level too. I've seen plenty of players have the form he's had in real life have purple patches and am definitely not going to get carried away by a player riding a wave at the moment.

Mike Cooper is rated as the best goalkeeper at the club with a very good potential too. It's worth noting he hadn't started a league game for the club before this season and again is another I've watched train and play since he was 16 years old.

Camara - The majority of his profile has been rated on his performances at Crawley. Have you seen him more times than the Crawley researcher has? What do you feel deserves to be increased?

Conor Grant - Has received an upgrade since the last game but not sure how he could be considered for a further upgrade personally? What is it about his profile that you feel should be different as personally I do not feel anything can be higher than it is.

My overall message is not to get carried away by the form from the beginning of the season, especially when the club is riding a wave. Sheffield United is my prime example where they did unbelievably last year off the back off a very successful few years but the level of ability of their players hasn't changed massively apart from a few.

Agreed, its the colour and the GK shirt arms that are wrong. Should be using the appropriate Nike colour

These are the GK replica shirts

Assistant manager is Dean Whitehead, Graham Barrow left the club.

Surprised Dean Whitehead is on more money than Sam Ricketts, the manager.

He left back in August. So hopefully they'll fix that as it happened before the new season. (Also Sam Ricketts might not be in the job for that long if his league performance continues.)

@matt_neil41 Do you still do the Argyle data? Feel Conor Grants  finishing of a ten is harsh. Would say 12 but then I’m maybe biased 😂

Hoskin appears to be Head of Academy Recruitment, a role we do not set in the game as it involves recruiting at U16 level.

I've just realised as well (6 months into my save) that Ryan Cassidy is on £15 per week - I'm assuming that's been set incorrectly?

He also shows as having been at the club for the 2019/20 season - is this an error?

Edited by Joshey

Cassidy was mistakenly set on £20pw instead of 20% wages paid by Accrington for his loan (the fields are next to each other in the database). That has now been corrected for the Release of the game.

Coton, Barrow/Whitehead, Sunderland gk kits, all updated in that database too. Thanks for the contributions, and apologies for the errors.

He's becoming a regular callup now for Wales u21s but not a regular starter, behind players like Mark Harris and Liam Cullen in the pecking order. "League Two standard" is the general level of our u21s - see Brandon Cooper for a long-time regular starter. Some even have to drop below that for club football.

Another thing, I just want to query whether Seamus Conneely's name is set incorrectly in-game - it appears as Séamus Conneely but I can only find three articles out of hundreds that have his name with the é?

One of which actually has a lower ability than Jephcott in game too.

I'm hoping he plays for the U21's on Friday as I'll be watching, will be interesting to see him in a different environment.

Sunderland again

Jack Diamond has been playing at rwb in almost all of his appearances this season so far so should probably have some level of capability there

Josh Scowen’s contract runs out in 2021 rather than 2022

Lynden Gooch has also played wing back on both sides on a fair few occasions in the last few seasons

Chris Maguire has played centre midfield a few times this season

Benji Kimpioka has an optional contract extension in his new contract

Patrick Almond is a centre back rather than a central midfielder

Vinnie Steels is a left footed left winger who is 19 rather than right sided and 17

Adam Richardson has signed a pre contract agreement

Ryan Wombwell is a right back, not sure what’s happening with him as he’s had different positions in each save I’ve seen

There is a striker, Luke Chapman who signed for the u18s in the summer from Hartlepool who is not in the database that I can see

Adam Matthews is listed as a transfer out even though he left in 2019

It has been reported that the club have a 10% sell on clause for Josh Maja

Whilst it's great having feedback, this thread is really just for data issues and not just picking out individual attributes. I think Dom is a good finished. If you want to privately message me with anything specific feel free to but please try and just keep this to issues.

Cummings history looks ok in the database and in my latest internal build of the game, so I'd say yes!

Lewis Montsma at Lincoln City is arguably labelled wrong as a natural wing back. Although he has played there in the past, he is primarily a centre back, and a very good one at that. Arguably deserves an increase in aggression and composure as well as the traits "tries long range passes" and "brings ball out of defence".
