I'd avoid that these days as it's quite an old processor in that.  If you tell me your country and ideally some websites that you'd use there as well as the budget in your currency and I'll take a look for you.

Of course, thanks. I'm from Portugal and normally these are the ones I usually look for:

https://www.worten.pt/informatica-e-acessorios/computadores

https://www.pcdiga.com/computadores-e-software/computadores-laptop?category=computadores_portateis#

https://www.pccomponentes.pt/portateis

https://www.infocomputerportugal.com/computadores/portateis/

https://loja.misterpc.pt/portateis

A 14"  display, just like the one you recommended  seems the perfect fit for what I'm looking for. Not too big but not so small to play the game.

The budget remains the same (£400/€470)

Thanks for your help

I can't find a 14" one within the budget I can really recommend, they all are much older CPUs and quite poor by current standards.  If you don't mind a 15.6" display, this one is an excellent deal:https://www.pcdiga.com/computadores-e-software/computadores-laptop/computadores-portateis/portatil-asus-vivobook-15-m515-15-6-m515ua-r75blhdss1-90nb0u12-m008z0-4711387009420

Thanks a lot for your help!

So you think it's a good price for what it is? How many leagues you think it can be lodaded with that specific laptop?

Just looking at the laptop and noticed it mentions it doesn't come with windows installed, so not sure what it would cost to add windows

Very good for the price.

As per the OP, we can't comment on how many leagues a specific system will run to your liking due to this being completely subjective.

Hello, I'm in the market looking for a new laptop as my old one is basically on its last legs. I've narrowed it down to two laptops but unsure of which one to get (not tech savvy).

The first one is the Alienware X16 which will cost around 3700ish Canadian which includes 4 year warranty, Specs below.

https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/gaming-laptops/alienware-x16-gaming-laptop/spd/alienware-x16-r1-laptop/caeahctox16r1rpl07

Memory: 32 GB, LPDDR5, 6000 MHz, integrated

Storage: 1 TB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD

Display: 16", QHD+ 2560x1600, 240Hz, Non-Touch, 100% DCI-P3, 3ms, Advanced Optimus, CV Plus, NVIDIA G-SYNC

The second one is the Alienware M16 which will cost around 3200ish Canadian which includes 4 year warranty, Specs below.

https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp/spd/alienware-m16-r1-laptop/na15m16r1_h04e?~ck=mn

The laptop will be used to stream content and occasionally stream on Twitch. The only game I play on computer is FM and am hoping that these specs will work fine with FM25.

Thanks in advance.

Hi just seen the MacBook Air M1 has been reduced to 899 on Amazon. Has anyone played FM on it. Know it’s fanless so worried about throttling. How would it compare against a similar Windows small laptop at the same price

Both are the same specs wise.  And I can see no reason why that spec wouldn't be fine for FM25 once that arrives, it's a very high spec machine.

Thank you.

Will the processor be any different? The X16 ends with an HK 24 MB cache, 14 cores, 20 threads, up to 5.40 GHz Turbo  and the M16 ends with HX 36 MB cache, 24 cores, 32 threads, up to 5.40 GHz Turbo. (no idea how important the cache/core/threads are)

Sorry, you are correct.  With the CPU model names being almost identical, I didn't notice that they weren't the same!  I'd go for the one with the i9-13900hx, as that one is slightly stronger of the two and for some reason it's also cheaper.  But either one is fine in reality as you have two of the best laptop CPU's currently available.

They are fine for FM23, although the i5 one does seem to be out of stock.

Hello Guys i'm new to this website, but i have quite of experience with fm, my last version played was fm20 though. I'm honestly not an expert of processors and computers in general, so i have made a list of potential new laptops (my current laptop is a very old boy, 7 years more or less, so can't compete anymore). My  budget is up to 900/950 £, my daily routine, (when i can), with the laptop is basically play FM and googling that's it, i watch netflix on my phone. But with a new laptop i would like to have a great experience with FM, 3D matches doesn't really matter to me, because i'm still a 2d fan, so no expectations on the graphic side, but i would like to see speed during loading times (game initial loading, database and be able to add logos and etc.) Bear in mind i will probably decide to invest when the game will come out so around november/december (nice christmas gift for me) so i thought probably some new laptop will be on the market at that time. I currently living in London, so my eyes are focus on Argos or Currys, if there is someone living in London just let me know by DM if there are more places to have a look, thanks all in advance.

Here's the scores of the CPU's in the models stated:

image.thumb.png.ffca796fe626d0ac399043db9da26374.png

So, based on the benchmark scores of the CPU's, this would be the one to go for:

https://www.currys.co.uk/products/huawei-matebook-d16-16-laptop-intel-core-i7-512-gb-ssd-grey-10241190.html

Although, if you don't mind shopping online, this one has the same CPU with a dedicated graphics card and higher storage SSD, so if you decide you want to go with 3D it'll give you more flexibility especially once FM25 comes out with its increased hardware requirements:

Hi everyone.
41yr old here who recently found my FM18 and was loving it until something went wrong on the laptop and it would never load.
so looking for a new laptop.
be warned I am very basic with my competent knowledge, so all I want is a laptop that’s good enough for the latest FM 23 or even 21.
I usually only play with 2 counties leagues open to manage so don’t need anything powerful.
just a cheap reliable laptop tht I can play FM on and do simple internet browsing.
I now live in Australia and have a budget of approx $700AU, or roughly £450.

Any advice would be really welcome.

thankyou.

Stumbled across this - it's a couple of years old which is why it's cheap, but it will be pretty decent performance for the price. The only question for me would be FM25: you may need to turn down some graphics settings.

@kevhamster I missed the discount from the laptop you've recommended as I'll only be able to buy in the next days.

I think this one, even though it's more expensive, it's a little better since it has 18GB of memory? Good deal?

This laptop is about 3 years old and would have cost ca £6-700 when new (including the upgraded RAM). The old pricing on this listing is deceptive. For the same pricing you should be able to get a last gen laptop with better performance.

Edit -

I've done a very quick browse and found this - it's actually 2 generations old, but that's newer than the one you were looking at and would have noticeably better performance.

Edit 2-

This is current gen and seems a pretty good deal too. I believe it has one upgradeable RAM slot so you could make it 12gb or 20gb

I’m looking to buy a laptop to play fm23 it would only be used for this does anyone know if this laptopHP 15s-fq2039na 15.6in i3 4GB 128GB  would be suitable? Thanks this is the link https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1172975?clickSR=slp:term:hp intel i3:1:55:1

It is a couple of years old, but would be ok for at least FM23 and 24. Upgrading the RAM with an extra 4gb would greatly improve your experience. If you can stretch to £5-600 you can get a more modern i5 or Ryzen 5 which would be a  lot better and more likely to run FM25 well

If you don't mind going for a refurbished model, this is a good deal: https://www.laptopstation.co.uk/special-offers/acer-a315-43-amd-ssd-15-6-fhd-laptop/

Otherwise, this is a brand new model with the same processor: https://www.currys.co.uk/products/hp-15seq2504sa-15.6-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-256-gb-ssd-silver-10226900.html

I've been here before and got some great advice. I've tailored my requirements even closer though now. Still playing FM20 Touch, so don't need anything super powerful. Run 2 or 3 countries and about 8-10 divisions all in. Wanting a Windows 10 (64 bit) OS, 256 or 512gb SSD and either 8 or (preferably) 16gb ram - and a 14" screen. Laptop would mainly be plugged in, but will need a hdmi out socket as want to connect to monitor while im at home. I also only use 2d graphics. Thank you guys for any help, really appreciate it. Getting close to buying one as current pc is pretty slow now. Looking to spend no more than £400 really, but could potentially push it a touch further.

Hi there. Old laptop has finally given up on me after running Football Manager for the last 8 versions. Looking for a laptop that can run multiple leagues at great performance and meet the potential new minimum requirements for FM 25. Wouldn’t like to spend any more than 1000. I mostly just use laptop for gaming just Football Manager ,watching series,YouTube and social media.

Any recommendations?

I certainly wouldn't go for less than 12gb for Football Manager these days. Windows 11 has become a lot heavier with all the updates also a budget Ryzen 5 is the minimum.

For FM23, 8GB is certainly fine.  Although I'd recommend more for general computer usage if it's within the person's budget.

This would be a lot better:  https://www.laptopstation.co.uk/laptops/hp-14s-fq1013na-ryzen-fhd-laptop/

Hi folks, sorry for asking so soon after joining but could someone please advise if this would be any use for FM. Prefer 3D graphics but probably only 7 or 8 leagues.

Hi all

Just a quick one, looking for a recommendation please if at all possible. I bought a gaming laptop from PC Specialist about 2.5 years ago and to cut a long story short its just shat itself and Im on the look for a new one. Whats bothered me the most is I moved back to my 6 year old Dell Inspiron and I cant see any speed difference so by the looks I bought a powerful laptop and spent too much on areas I didnt need so thats why I really want to nail the next one. I know the basics of whats needed but I feel FM players would be experts

Im looking for a laptop that is mainly for FM (I also need it for some basic graphic work, photoshop, iIlustrator etc I'll also be telling the wife thats the main use but its not, I want 30 leagues open, I want 200,000 players, I want it all and not sluggish. I'm playing the game since CM93 so its an important part of my life. Budget would be €1,500 but I could stretch that if I could buy the same laptop within the EU (customs free). I also have no issue buying off PC Specialist again or I dont have an issue buying from Currys or somewhere either but I just want to do it right this time. Any help is greatly appreicated

So priority of needs

1. FM

2. FM

3. FM

4. Adobe products

5. Some podcasting/Streaming on Twitch/video editing (Very basic)

This is the basics of what I had

15.6" NTSC LED

Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor 10875H (2.3GHz, 5.1GHz Turbo)

32GB Corsair 2666MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 16GB) (IM ASSUMING 32gb ramis overkil?)

NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2060 - 6.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1

1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)

__________________________________________________________________________

This is what I was looking at, is this overkill? Is there much of a difference between 1 x16gb ram and 2 x 8gb?

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/ionico-16/  (WIth 16gb Ram)

or

cheaper option

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/elimina-pro-16-M/ (WIth 16gb ram)

Am I missing any decent deals out there at the minute?
