This makes me think it is. A few friends that are more experienced with tech have said similar. Took it into a repair shop today. 😄

You should be able to access the SSD by opening the computer up.

What model is your computer? You can get make/mode/serial from base of the computer.

Likely you'll have an additional SSD slot or else it just needs to be seated correctly.

Either way, you could move it to a different slot if there's on free.

Hey guys, i this isnt the correct protocol then let me know but I'm about to get myself a new PC and was looking for some advice.

I'm terrible with computers, getting the graphics into FM it about my max so I'm looking for something that will run FM like a dream, i want big databases, all the leagues and everything that brings.

Ive been looking on amazon and found these options, not sure if theyre suitable or not..

ADMI 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜 | Volt Gaming PC, Ryzen 4500 • RTX 2060 6GB Graphics Card • 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 • 500GB SSD • 550W PSU Bronze Rated • RGB Gaming Case • WIFI • PC Gaming, Gaming Computer • Windows 11

Acer Nitro N50-640 Gaming PC - (Intel Core i5-12400, 8GB, 1TB HDD and 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super, Windows 11, Black)

If these are over priced and under powered can someone point me towards a link on amazon about the type of thing i should be looking at? Cheers

No idea what they are in terms of price as you've not provided links to look at or what the price is.  If you can post the links I can take a closer look.

Are you specifically looking at Amazon, or are you happy to shop at other stores as well?

Also, is FM the only game you're interested in or are you playing other games too? If so, what other games are you interested in?

Purely for FM, I'd go with the second one as the CPU's a bit better.  Both are really good prices though.

As I'd suspected, the Ryzen 5 5500U scores quite a bit higher.

It will handle the 3D match engine, although probably not at the highest settings - I'd start at medium and work upwards until it starts stuttering.

In terms of multiple leagues, we can't comment on how many leagues any one system will run to your satisfaction as per the OP.  But it's a decent laptop CPU.

Thank you for your help! Would you have a better suggestion than the laptop with the Ryzen 5? Budget is around $500 USD/400 pounds. Don't mind going slightly over if it means better graphic settings/more leagues

I can't see anything better for that price.

Havent played since FM17 so looking for a new laptop mainly for FM but also Microsoft Office for kids homework etc. Plus a bit of video editing.

Don't mind playing the matches in 2D but like to load all the English and Scottish leagues.

Budget is around £5/600

Cheers

For that budget you're up against it.

This would be best based on CPU

https://www.box.co.uk/M3401QA-KM038W-ASUS-VivoBook-Pro-14-AMD-Ryzen-7-16GB-RA_4091585.html

GPU is not as important for video editing.
And you could do with upping the RAM to 32gb in the future.
And you'll probably need an external drive - as the Hard Drive is only 512gb and sure to fill up fast with video edits.

Ideally, you'd have a larger budget.

But you'd be looking at more tha double your budget.

Cheers, could probably stretch to £700.

The video editing would be for my son, we've got him a cheap version of a go pro but he could probably edit them on his mobile.

700 wouldn't see significant gains.

I already expanded the search to £750 before posting :)

Unless someone else sees a better deal. It will serve you well.

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a new laptop and have found this one which looks good for me. The price is within my budget range.

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/2002501?clickSR=slp:term:acer:4:4:1

I am looking to play 3D matches on high settings and would have around 20/30 leagues in multiple countries with a large database with a week taking around 15-20 minutes.

Would this be able to handle it?

Yeh - it's fine - can't tell you about the 20/30 leagues as per opening post.

But should be good.

Hi,

I'm not very technical minded so please be gentle :)

I play FM 23 on the PC just fine but now thinking of getting a laptop with the following specs:

Processor / Chipset
Intel® Core™ i5-1240P Processor(1.7 GHz up to 4.4 GHz 12 MB L3 Cache)

Graphic
Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

Display
15.6" FHD AMOLED Display (1920 x 1080)

Memory
8 GB LPDDR5 Memory (On BD 8 GB)

Storage
256 GB NVMe SSD

Its a Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro and was hoping its good enough to play FM 23 if not then I'll have to think again about something else.

Thanks for any help you may give.

They are expensive those Galaxy Books - and the specs are driven for portabilty and not performance.

But what is your budget?

I think it would run fine - but it's quite a small hard drive.

There might be a better option for you.

@Smurf Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately I'm a bit OCD  and have everything Samsung like the S22 Ultra phone and Tab S8 Ultra tablet and want to keep the laptop the same. The first job I'd be doing is putting in a second SSD in something like a 4TB one.

I was just worried FM 23 wouldn't run on it even with 2d graphics rather than 3d and to be honest if you'd have said it definitely wouldn't run then I would've looked elsewhere. Like I said I'm technology  inept especially when it comes to specs.

I have Samsung phone, Dell Laptop, iMac etc.

Tying yourself to Samsung is difficult.

You still haven't told me the budget.

Where are you buying from?

Once I have budget and place buying from I can be more helpful.

@Smurfmy budget is around £800 - £1000 but to be honest I'd be getting the laptop from o2 due to an upgrade but I'm not tied to that and could buy elsewhere.

In the market for a new laptop. Currently playing on a MacBook from 2015. I've narrowed my choices down to three laptops that are currently on sale plus an additional 100 dollars off the sale price. Not that tech savvy so any guidance will be much appreciated.

Any of them are absolutely fine for FM, and if FM is the only game you're playing then I don't think you'll see any difference between them, as they all have the same CPU - the difference seems to be a slight difference in graphics card, SSD size and one of them has 32GB RAM where as the others have 16GB.

Could someone suggest what is the best I can get if I'm looking to spend around £1,500 to £1,800? I'd prefer a desktop with a large display.

A few questions:

Gaming-wise, are you purely looking at FM or other games (and if yes, which other games)?  And what other things would you use the PC for?

How large a monitor do you want?

Does the budget above include what you can spend on things like monitor, keyboard etc or is that purely for the rig itself?

It's purely for FM gaming wise and I'd want that budget to include everything - monitor, keyboard, etc. Current display is 27" so anything around that would be fine, even if it has to get smaller.

Other things I'd use it for are storing photos/videos, browsing the web/youtube, and general admin stuff that uses MS Office.

Hi looking at the above as a tablet-esque for the wife with myself doing some FM gaming. She wants the lightweight option.

Current concerns is that I haven't utilised a Samsung before. Any thoughts?

Looks fine to me.

That'd do the job - pretty much top of the line CPU matched with an older graphics card to keep the price down (but still is more than enough to handle FM at max graphics without breaking a sweat).  That leaves you plenty of wiggle room in your budget to get the monitor etc, but if you already have a reasonable monitor then I'd suggest you may not need to buy a new one unless your current monitor is on the verge of death.

Hi! Been lurking for a while trying to figure things out in here.
Sorry to ask the typical question, but here we are:

I’m based in Australia. Looking for a laptop that runs FM with multiple leagues (I’ve read the OP and aware you can’t advise on performance speeds etc which is fine!) and that’s really it. Use it for typical stuff like Microsoft office, streaming, internet browsing.

Budget is approx $1000 AUD.

I appreciate any guidance.

Cheers!

Alex

It certainly meets minimum specs for both, but the graphics card falls slightly short of the recommended specs for The Division 2.

To exceed the recommended specs for the Division 2 and keep it at a similar price, I've downgraded the CPU slightly but put in a better graphics card: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/fD2nM5PxD9/

Hi all,

I am based in London.

I am currently playing FM on a PC the following PC “ADMI Gaming PC: Ryzen 3200G”. Now I have no issues really with the PC other than I sit infront of a PC all day for work and I do miss the whole playing FM whilst travelling or being away etc.

That is where the question of looking into a laptop arises. I have a budget of about max £650-£700, I am in no current rush to purchase a laptop I can wait a few weeks until the Christmas sales? Maybe something will appear.

Ideally I would like it to run 70-100k players smoothly with facepacks and badges and so on… so I can find some new gens and real hidden gems. I’m not sure how many leagues I’d load maybe 5?

I feel my budget is too tight for my demands. Any help would be appreciated. Once I’ve had a few responses I will also share other laptops I’ve researched as there are a lot and cherry pick to compare. I was in PC world today and some laptops did state “all-rounder” which I’d assume means it is suitable for running FM very smoothly

I'd take the Currys definitions with a pinch of salt to be honest.  This one looks a cracking deal for the price: https://www.box.co.uk/30033639-Medion-Erazer-E25-AMD-Ryzen-5-8GB-RAM-51_4148633.html

Thanks Kev! Been a real help even if it is just one laptop so far.

The one you linked me to, that should run a few upcoming FM versions. Also if I wanted to have kits facepacks etc and 70-90/100k players this laptop should process quite quickly still? I believe that graphics card on that PC is one of the best for fm from online research

How does it compare to these below. I believe the Lenovo has been suggested.

Between the two you've posted here, and the one I put up, for me it'd be a choice between the one at Currys or the one I posted.

The one at Currys has a better CPU, but only integrated graphics - so it'll process quicker than the Lenovo, but you may need to turn the graphics presets down a notch or two although it would still be good for medium to high.  And if you play without it being plugged in, the one at Currys will probably have a better battery life because it doesn't have the dedicated graphics card.

Very very helpful. Really do appreciate this.

I shall knock the Lenovo on the head. Medium to high and runs with facepacks logo packs loaded and without it taking occasionally a year to load a profile and change skins sounds like the perfect laptop to me.

I shall keep this to a final post for now.

From info I gathered

- Should run well with facepacks logo etc on medium-high, can load many nations too which is ideal for newgen hunting. Also would process quickly so not taking ages inbetween fa cup dates, international break etc and also will run fm for the next 3-5 years allbeing well.

For the price and value of the two laptops the ASUS and Medion minus one having an inter grated graphics card.. is there much difference overall between the two laptops? Is the Medion worth the £100 extra over the ASUS but would the £100 extra in the long run be worthwhile so I don’t have to change to upgrade.

sorry if it’s a lot of info! I have no idea what I’m doing when searching so I really do appreciate this help! It’s a useful thread I’ve spent the entire evening on it !

Hi all,

I am looking to buy a laptop for FM only (game wise) & streaming, browsing and work.

my current laptop is very slow with FM but is fine for work as I login to an online portal.

my budget is between £750-£850, I would like to be able to simulate quickly, with multiple leagues and nice graphics, any suggestions?

I should mention, I had a look in store today (I’m based in the UK) and since I don’t play other games I’m not really a fan of the colourful keyboards etc, as this is also a work laptop id like a more professional feel to it. However if there’s a clear deal or gulf in quality I’d be tempted to go for it!

Thanks a lot for your help,

Dan

I have a 32GB M1 Max MacBook Pro. Towards the end of FM22 I was having some issues with the smoothness of the match engine, particularly after updating to Ventura. The only fix was to play in Windowed Mode, it was noticeably smoother then.

I downloaded the demo of 23 and it ran fine in standard mode, so I bought the game and it was running fine, until it randomly went back to being choppy and stuttering for no apparent reason. Yet again, the problem improves in Windowed Mode, however, that’s not how I like to play the game.

I’ve tested it on the highest graphics and the lowest graphics and its the same for both.

Can anyone help as the Mac was very expensive and FM is my favourite game, and to be put off playing it is a massive shame.

I certainly want to keep the Mac and not have to change already, but this issue needs to be fixed.

Thanks
