@Smurf@kevhamster is this still the best option purely to play FM22 on for under £900?

Thanks

The equivalent i7 now just about beats it, according to the benchmark sites:

Out of those, I'd go for the second one, although this one is a better shout: https://www.box.co.uk/Lenovo-V55t-15API-11CC0009UK-Business-_2961996.html

Hi, I’m looking for a new laptop over the next few months as my current one has suffered some water damage.

My Current laptop is:

Dell Inspiron 7566

Processor        Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz   2.60 GHz

RAM 16.0 GB

The main reason I use my laptop is primarily FM and a couple of strategy games.

My max budget is £1000, but I’d like to be under £800 preferably

My current Dell laptop is 8 years old and is not good enough for the windows 11 upgrade

I only use my laptop for FM and the internet but will upgrade now so is there any suggestions for a laptop for maximum £500 please.

For the maximum budget I can use the windows from my old laptop too I think. Thank you.

Hey all, I'm looking to start my fm22 long term save now that I've played around with a few big clubs. FM21 was my first FM and I loaded all nations/leagues and made them all playable because I wanted as many regens/players to discover as possible, but is it pointless having every single player/league loaded? I also go into the custom database setup and make sure all international players are loaded for each continent. I'd love some advice/recommendations on what the ideal nations/leagues to load are, or if I'm going in the right direction. I'm not that concerned with sim speed, but if there is some kind of happy medium of having tons of players/solid sim speed, I'm all ears. I appreciate any input

My current PC specs

Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz

16 gb ram

GeForce 3060 rtx

FM installed on SSD

There's already a thread answering this kind of question here:

Also, I'd suggest looking at the Benchmarking thread as well for an idea of sim speeds for some more intensive game setups:

I’ve just bought an MSI katana with a i5 11400h. In the FM22 benchmarks thread it’s right up there with the best. On par with the Ryzen 5800

only has a rtx 3050 but that plays matches on very high.

I have a laptop with Ryzen 5 3500u and Radeon Vega 8 and I cannot run the 3d match engine smoothly even in the lowest settings.

I am thinking to buy a new laptop that will have a better graphic card and I was wondering if Intel Iris Xe will do the job to run the 3d match smoothly.

Does anyone have any experience with the Iris Xe graphic card?

It should be fine.

That said, I'm surprised your GPU is struggling.  I have a laptop with the Ryzen 5 2500U with the same iGPU and I've found it to be smooth on medium settings with only very occasional frame drops.  May be worth running virus scans and checking your fans are working correctly and it isn't overheating.

Looking at getting a new laptop, on a budget, with pretty much the sole intention of getting back in to FM. Had a few years out and my old HP Pavilion would just struggle.

Have read almost too much at this stage. Just want to get cracking!

Would this stand up to a decent save? - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-14s-dq2502na-14-laptop-intel-pentium-gold-128-gb-ssd-silver-10222266-pdt.html?awc=1599_1639233837_aad92d6e5e2d1236ea0496b8d557580e&srcid=369&xtor=AL-1&cmpid=aff~TechRadar~Editorial+Content~103504~Future+Publishing.

thanks

It won't be amazing, but it meets the minimum specs of the game.  I can't see anything else I'd consider better for the same price.

Hello,

I’m looking for a new laptop to play FM22. I’ve been playing FM Touch on an iPad for the past few years but am looking at going back to the full version after the announcement of Touch not being released on tablet anymore.

The laptop will be used for FM22, general internet usage, and admin (word, excel etc). In terms of FM, I prefer the 2D match engine and rarely run more than 5-6 leagues.

My main opportunity to play FM is on the commute, so portability is key. Ideally it would have a HDMI port so I can plug into a monitor when I am able to play at home.

Budget is £500-700, although I could stretch a bit if the perfect machine was available for a bit more.

I’ve found this laptop and wondered if this would be appropriate, or if anyone had any better suggestions.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

I'd avoid that one, the base clock speed on the CPU is lower than SI recommend for FM.

This is a much better option within the budget: https://www.box.co.uk/82K200C2UK-Lenovo-ideaPad-Gaming-3-AMD-Ryzen-5-8GB-_3638079.html

Hey guys, my laptop packed up last night and I'm in need of a new one. I don't have the greatest budget, between €350 and €450 would be it. I'm only planning on running FM with two to three leagues loaded and a medium database. I've done some research but I'd much appreciate the advice from anyone who knows laptops better than me (which is pretty much everyone). What do you guys think of these?

I'd not recommend any of those.

Based on what I can gather, 450 euro is around £400. so this would be my recommendation at that price: https://www.box.co.uk/30031049-Medion-Akoya-E14303-AMD-Ryzen-5-8GB-RAM-_3552562.html

FM is more of a CPU based game so I'll stay away from anything with Intel Celeron and go with the i3 if that is the best you can do

Agree with this but since it's not a brand I'm familiar with I'll be a little bit hesitant

You may not be familiar with them yourself, but Medion are a well known brand in UK stores and have as good a reputation as most.

Medion was bought over by Lenovo in 2011.

Medion had a terrible name like Skoda/Lada - but since being bought over by Lenovo they are a trusted brand.

If you were buying a Medion that was 2011 or earlier I'd be wary - but i doubt that is even possible these days.

Game is incredibly slow when navigating through calendar days. Detail level is 'minimum', any way of speeding it up? Only watching the during games too.  English, Italian, Spanish, French leagues running.

Processor - 2.4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

It's just too old. You're probably end of life with that model of Mac.
