Tactical help

Recommended Posts

I’ve got a very good Benfica side built over 2 seasons, developed several youth players whilst bringing in quality as well. I’m looking to play a higher tempo tiki taka Tactic but not sure how to get there as it’s not usually how I set up. I had a 4-1-4-1 or a 4-2-3-1 in mind and I plan to use a F9 because A) I’ve got a very good attacking midfielder capable of playing it and B) I’ve never really used one before, but again not sure how to utilise one! My team is very good technically and is very hard working. Basically I need help with team instructions and any player instructions That would help.

My team currently

Celik    Dias     Ferro   Grimaldo

                    Luis

      G Fernandes  Dantas

Neres                           D Jota

                T Almada

Or remove Fernandes and use someone capable of playing shadow striker in behind the F9 in a 4-2-3-1?

Okay, here is an example of how you can tweak roles and duties to better match the style of play you want to achieve:

F9

IFat                                     APsu

DLPsu     MEZat

HB

WBsu    CDde  BPDde   (I)WBsu

SKsu

As for instructions:

- remove dribble less

- remove pass into space

- switch the width to default

- add overlap left

- remove hold shape

- remove distribute to CBs and FBs (because you already have play out of defence)

Out-of-possession TIs may also prove too aggressive, so they may also need some tweaking. But for now, let them stay but watch carefully what happens. Report back the impressions

Sorry for the late response, haven’t tried this out yet but will give it a go later and let you know! Thanks for the suggestions
