We've been given £5m to spend on new recruits and it will be a first team striker and a new GK, as I sold Schwabe to Leipzig in January and never replaced him. We have agreed to spend £4m on making an upgrade to the youth facilities which will take them to Superb or State of the Art, not sure what's after Great.

Outs first, two young players who were waiting in the wings to take either wing back slot. Both had kicked up a fuss last season about game time, both on breakthrough prospect contracts and 18 you would assume time off the bench and a 1 in 4 start ration they would be happy. Left sided Per Weisdorf left for Napoli for £2m + 50% profit and right sided Daniel Diaz went to Borussia Monchengladbach for £3m + 40% profit.

Incoming for the first team were four players. Three free transfers in Japhet Sery Larsen from Midtyjlland as CB cover, Jorrit de Geyseleer from Leuven as first choice GK and Ernie Farquhar from Ross County as another CM/AMC option. I then spent £1.9m on Romanian winger Virgil Gheorghe from Ferencvaros, like wingers signed before him he goes straight onto wing-back and defensive positioning training. He was wanted by some of Europe's elite so we've got a player here. HoYD signed four players for the 2nd team spending £250k in the process.

We went straight into the CL Group stage and got drawn with Man City, Real Madrid and Celtic. Nil points on the way but all I wanted were the riches that came with it.

Smashed through another season and another double to make it a domestic double-double. We had a bit of a disrupted start to the season as both first choice wing-backs were injured but we managed through. Idah was in good form before the mid-winter break whilst after the break Faghir took over and scored most of the goals.

In Europe we did better than I expected despite finishing bottom of our group as we beat both Celtic and Man City at home.

In the winter transfer window we lost Adrian Giunta for his release clause of £13.25m to Jiangsu which was disappointing but I went out and replaced him with Mariano Castilla (newgen) from Santa Fe for £2.5m. I also splashed £4m on another RWB this time from Argentinian side Velez. We also have a deal in place to sign Uruguayan striker German Alfonso from Penarol for £3m rising to £4m. I'm going to reduce the amount of foreign players I have in the squad next season with Carles Marc, Kwanchai Chaiwang, Liam Jordan and Ernie Farquhar all available to leave.

Faghir finished the season with 30 goals, whilst Idah contributed 19. Iuri made the most assists with 12 whilst Faghir made 11.

We're up to £34m in the bank this season thanks to the CL prize money, we've been given £10m of it to spend on new players, I will be concentrating on bringing in some Scandinavian players to bolster the ranks.

Another pre-season done and we did well in the transfer market again. A couple of fringe players left for small fee's but both were foreigners so that's good. Incoming were Alfonso from Penarol for £4m, a pre-agreed deal but he's now a wonderkid. He has a release clause so I don't expect him to stay long if he transfers his goal scoring rate from South America to Europe. Arriving on a free were Mohamed Daramy from Inter, he joined them a few seasons back but spent all of his contract out on loan which stagnated his development and newgen Daniel Banks from Chelsea, a defensive mid by trade, he will slot into the central CB spot and take up a Libero role.

Also incoming are two hot talents, one from Brann in Norway for £1.5m, he's a winger but am going to retrain as a striker and the other was a 16 year old CB from Barcelona for £1.2m.

With the players I have in the squad now I've changed formation to 3-2-2-3. Three at the back with Libero in the centre and two BPDs either side. Then full on attacking wing backs either side of them. A DLP and Mezalla on support with 3 strikers; an AF, a CF and a DLF, all on attack. I'm going for the jugular this season. First two games of the season saw a hint of that with 4-0 and 6-2 wins before losing 1-0 despite having plenty of chances.

We made it a treble-double by winning the league on the last game of the season and also winning the cup again. With 3 games to go we were level on points and thankfully we won all three remaining games whilst Kobenhavn only won twice. Having said that the most outrageous thing happened as Kobenhavn went on to win the Champions League being Lazio in extra time in the final :idiot: In Europe ourselves we finished 3rd in our group ahead of Basel and dropped into the EL 1st KO Round but subsequently lost to Nice.

Faghir was the cream of the crop again this season with 25 goals whilst Daramy and the departing Idah both scored 20 goals apiece. Uruguayan hot-shot Alfonso managed 12 in his first season but has been called up to the World Cup squad where he bagged a hatty in his first national appearance in a friendly. Our wing-backs were less effective this season with the formation change and both first choice players had injury problems. DLP Mariano Castilla notched 15 assists and is now described as a wonderkid to go along with Alfonso and Gheorghe who has been fairly disruptive in his time here so far.

With Idah departing I've struck a deal for a young Andorran talent to join us on a free transfer this summer. We had a semi-decent youth intake with affiliate clubs Bidwest Wits providing us with 3 South African's all of which don't have a work permit. Our squad is beginning to thin a little too much so I will need to do some work in the summer window to bring in another first choice CB, another young WBR or WBL and a CM as a minimum. We have £13m to spend and 90k p/w in the wage budget.

All gone a bit quiet in this part of the forum recently.

Just a league win this season but by a convincing 10 points over second placed Kobenhavn. We scored 72 league goals but it didn't feel like it, Alfonso top scored with 21 goals in total, Quinonez with 16 goals and 11 assists and Faghir only scored 11 in an injury hit season. AGF knocked us out of the cup at the quarter final stage. In the CL we were drawn alongside Basel, Chelsea and Bayern, we finished 3rd and even beat Bayern 1-0 at home. We dropped into the EL but were knocked out by Sassaulo 7-2 on aggregate.

We spent £4.7m on new signings this season, Quinonez joined from Liga de Quito for £2.7m, Kamohelo Mncube joined from Sundowns for £875k and Bruno Fernandez signed from Universitaro in Peru for £1.1m. All three have subsequently become wonderkids and join Alfonso and Aparicio to make in 5 wonderkids in the squad currently. I sold Mohamed Daramy to Henan in January for £4.5m, he hardly got a look in this season, we also have 50% profit clause and is now worth £15m. The one clause I need to sell is that of Valdo who is at Man Utd, I sold him for £9m a few seasons ago and is now worth £67m, DoF Marc Overmars has so far failed to secure a deal with Man Utd.

We also spent £9m on training facility improvements and they now sit at Excellent and Superb along with Exceptional Youth Recruitment and Junior Coaching. The academy is now costing us short of £5m per season. We only had one stand out player in this seasons intake but he can make an impact in the first team at some point.

I'm beginning to struggle to find decent home-grown/Danish players to improve the squad. We only have two first teamers that are Danish and four bench options.

It has all gone a bit quiet. Think I will jump in here for some mini updates between my bigger updates in my thread.

We could finally challenge this season for a CL spot. As I am doing youth only the fact we have Euro Cup football means I can play my backup players then and my first team in the league which is paying some dividends. Real Sociadad have not been taken over or had any big tycoon. They won the league last season and again have taken off at 100mph this season.

Can't beat a good South American wonderkid!

Got too many of them now :D

Front three are all South American, well one has chosen Italy but he came from Brazil, he's just turned into a wonderkid too. We also have a Peruvian CM who is a wonderkid. His CM partner was a wonderkid who came from Argentina. All signed for a pittance.

Really struggling to find decent Danish/Scandi players to improve without spending an absolute fortune.

Nice, as I am doing youth only I have no such issue with home grown players. My current best players are:

A 5th consecutive title with Brondby but it wasn't all plain sailing as after 5 games we were 5 points behind Kobenhavn but by the end of the regular season we were 6 points ahead of them and we ended the season 9 points ahead of them. We set a record for most goals in a season with 90. We got out of our CL group for the first time as we finished 2nd to Real Madrid, ahead of Dortmund and Besiktas. We even beat Real Madrid at home 1-0. We were drawn with Chelsea in the 1st KO Round and only lost 4-2 on aggregate.

We only spent 350k this season and that was on a back up RWB after I sold a declining Iuri back to Brazil. We lost a couple of young players on free's; one to PSG and one to Inter as we couldn't agree on their wage demands.

Alfonso top scored with 24 goals this season with Gilberto (19), Quinonez (19), Aparicio (17) and Castilla (17) all hitting double figures. Wing-backs Gheorghe and Jacobsen-Green both hit double figures for assists.

We've been given £10m to spend this season and I will look to spend it on a couple of new CB's.

A busy transfer window saw four players leave permanently plus five on loan and 6 players join the club. The outs first; Kolskogen left for Milan on a free transfer, he never got in the team as a winger (we don't use them) and was out on loan most seasons. Diaz was a promising CB but moaned left, right and centre; gone for £2m to Spurs. Edu Regas, a young Spanish GK had multiple teams bid for him but he opted for Juventus in a deal worth £2.5m + 50% profit, not bad for a player signed for free from Damm in Spain. Last to leave and the big one was Aparicio, PSG low balled me but I countered to £17.5m + 50% profit and they accepted. Now worth £41.5m and starting games for them, lets hope for a clause sale.

Incoming, in order were; Freudenberg a wonderkid CB from Bayern who had him transfer listed for £3.4m, Bartkow a 16 year old Polish CB/DM from Lech for £4.8m, Stefanov from Levski for £2.5m to act CB cover, Parra from Colo Colo for £2.3m to be a Libero, Rangel from Venezuelan side Tachira for £975k to add numbers up top and Wilton an 18 year old Brazilian CM for 700k.

We're down to 2 starting Danes now which is concerning but we're not producing the players to displace the South American contingent.

Titles are not a given but are fast becoming them as we secure our 6th in a row. In the CL we got out of our group consisting of Bayern, Lazio and Rennes, we topped the group as we beat Bayern at home. We would go no further than the 1st KO Round though as we were beaten by Barcelona on aggregate, we won the 2nd leg 2-0 in Denmark though.

Gilberto was the main man last season with 30 goals to his name whilst Alfonso was just behind with 28. CM maestro Fernandez was brilliant with 17 assists and 7 goals. We lost a star player in Gheorghe in the winter window though, the wing-back left for Dortmund in a deal worth £50m. This summer window I sold back up LWB Diomande to Leverkusen for this release clause of £8.75m.

I've spent some of that money on improving the youth facilities at a cost of £5.5m and bringing in 6 new players. I spent 11k on Albert a youngster from Damm U19's (I had brought two from that team previously and sold them for a combined £3.5m), a freebie in Yao from ASEC in Ivory Coast, £1m on a HoYD purchase from AGF, £2.5m on another Polish youngster, £2.5m on a high potential Danish newgen from Nordjaeslland and £1.5m on a Colombian wonderkid to act as further WBL cover.

We had another poor youth intake so Caers was sacked and newgen one from Denmark was hired (Resolute, 19 each for JPA/JPP and 17 for WwY) Fingers crossed we can find some gems. We now have youth-setup affiliates from Uruguay, Bulgaria, Romania, Sweden, Serbia and South Africa yet we've only had SA players from through so far.

Our best season yet as we win the league with 6 games to spare and by 21 points. We failed to get out of our CL group but finished 3rd and dropped into the EL. We beat Young Boys 9-1 on aggregate in the 1st KO Round, Fenerbahce 6-3 in the 2nd KO Round, Leverkusen on away goals after it finished 3-3 on aggregate in the Quarters, then we beat Hertha 4-0 on aggregate in the semis and then went on to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the final. We failed in the Danish Cup going out in the 4th Round.

It was Alfonso's season for goals as he finished with 32, a wanted Gilberto scored 25 whilst Quinonez scored 16. New winter window signing Luis Rivero (another South American wonderkid) scored 15 in 23 since joining. Player of the season though for me was Bruno Fernandez, the Peruvian midfield orchestrator ended the season with 26 assists.

We had another poor intake, I'm not sure what I can do to improve them when our facilities/setup is maxed out. We've £89m in the bank and a fair few wanted players including our GK de Geyseleer, CB Banks and ST's Gilberto and Alfonso. So we could see some changes in personnel this summer.

I'm in the winter window of the next season but felt it would be good to do an update on the transfers this season.

Outs first; Jorrit de Geyseleer left for Man Utd for £25m, Kamohelo Mncube left to Valencia for £13.25m, Pedro Rangel left for Dortmund for a deal worth up to £10m, whilst Franck Yao joined Porto for up to £12.25m. In January Mariano Silvani joined Everton for £25m, Daniel Banks joined Man City for £24m and Wilton joined Farum for £1m. We made £98m from player sales this season.

Incoming was Nkosingiphile Mkhatshwa from Sundowns to be first choice GK, he release clause was £775k. I finally got long term target Stephan Filter from Bayern for £9m, a year after being quoted £54m for the wonderkid striker and I also spent £9m on a new CB as Banks replacement, Hernan Nisivoccia joins from Penarol in Uruguay as another wonderkid.

We now have £156m in the bank.

8th league title in a row but no further in Europe as we bow out at the 1st KO Stage after losing on away goals to PSV. However, we did finish top of our group and unbeaten with 5 wins and a draw. We beat Silkeborg 2-0 in the final of the FA Cup, our first title in 5 seasons.

Alfonso top scored with 33 goals which also saw him overtake Faghir as Brondby's top scorer, now with 106 goals league goals. Rivero scored 21 and Gilberto, who spent 5 months of the season out with a broken leg scored 15 in 21 games. Alfonso and Fernandez made 15 assists while wing backs Okeyre and Jacobsen Green made 22 between them.

The club made huge sums of money from player sales (above post) and from continental football. We now have £158m in the bank after we paid £20m in tax. We're now somehow ranked 12th in the European Club rankings ahead of Juventus, Inter and Ajax to name a few. I've made two summer signings already, Tavio a Brazilian CB from Flamengo for £5.5m, he will be the perfect Libero and Alberto Meilan from Saprissa in Costa Rica for £1.1m. We have over £100m left to spend if needed.

Alright, so first signs at Vitesse are good, we only need to finish top half and with a squad like ours, we should be able to do that just fine. Just need a new goalkeeper as well as a central defender and maybe a young striker when winter arrives.

Alright, so i've reached the winter break on my adventure with Vitesse.

image.png.b955896d62866639b58b39ea7f57128f.png

The start was pretty darn awful. We seemed to concede wayyy too much late on to make any chance of winning properly. Changed to a relentlessly attacking when VVV came around for the first time though and that did help significantly... for a while. December seemed to signal a change was needed again- Sparta and PEC both scored late on... and VVV for the second time was apparently the time for players to go on vacation prematurely. Hopefully that's just a blip and we can patch ourselves up for the arguably more difficult second half of the season.

image.png.b0980af3d0abcfcb9b20e99fe5f5af52.png

Doing well enough for my job to not be under any threat, though slightly disappointed we can't really make the final jump to the European places. Let's press on, shall we?

Yeah okay stuff didn't exactly go to plan after the winter break. I dunno why, we were still playing quite well, our defense simply decided to give up after the first Heerenveen match for some reason. Odd.

The worst part is, I would've kept my job were it not for 88th and 92nd minute goals against my FM20 beta club RKC. A draw and then that win against Fortuna would've been enough for the 8 point bechmark.

Onwards and upwards!

Wow. We went from 10 games without a win to somehow shithousing our way into the playoffs even if our last few matches were horrendous. Not only that, but IJsselmeervogels somehow managed to hit a better run of form than Eindhoven who were promotion candidates last season.

This may be one of the most brilliant seasons on FM i've ever played. Yet to decide if i'll stay or not. If we get promoted, I mean, duh. But that's very unlikely. Based on regular season results, I prrrrobably won't, yet there's that small feeling that if i'd stay, I could improve the team to become an Eerste Divisie force.

Man this game's got me hooked.

First season in the First Division:

Easy. Nothing remarkable.

Second season in the Airtricity League:

Went from a Salary Cap of 560 000 to 1.7 million. OK. Good. Did rent Renense from Benfica. Awesome talent. Scored lots. Eventually halfway the season he injured his knee, so Benfica took him away from us. I was able to buy Aaron Drinan and rent a couple of others halfway the season. My wingers were totally doing wrong stuff, so I switched to a wingerless tactic. Was so good. Last 5 matches were really thrilling. and we won because Dundalk lost against Bohemians and Drogheda. Guess I am the Special One. From the bottom to the top in 2 seasons.

Third Season is running at the moment.

Just had my first friendly. Don't get me wrong. The salary cap is now 2.1 million or so. Sean Maguire from Preston wanted to leave the club, so I was able to hire him. I will eventually buy him. He's so good. I also got Gavin Banzunu on loan and another awesome dude. I bought 2 fullbacks cause the currents ones were bad and last season I bought one which was only getting low 6's. So he's on the list now to be sold. I think I've a heavily overpowered Cork City now. Way too good with Gavin, Sean, Aaron Drinan, Georgie Kelly and some others. Perhaps the Salary Cap is way too good. The plan is now to make Cork City rising in Europe. Trying make it to the grouprounds in CL or EL and get those millions. I need those millions for better trainers, facilities and all that. Another 1000+ to drain, lol. This time when I feel I am done playing I will back up the save. I really regret deleting my FM2018 Cork City save.

Anyway. I am really happy to have Sean Maguire in my team. Hopefully I can buy him. He's so good. My dream is to have Jack Grealish and Troy Parrot in my team eventually.

ps. How to I make the pictures smaller?

Just started a save with the mighty Braintree Town. Predicted to finish 14th and last year they were almost relegated but I'm aiming for top 10 and maybe even promotion, promotion maybe a little too ambitious as I don't sign anyone first season so I'll have a squad of 17 players (3 GK) but will see...

Looking forward to starting this properly later, been struggling for motivation this year.

Honestly, the slowness of my computer has held me back from continuing on on full fat FM. So i've made the decision to cut back significantly on my ambitions and instead go back to FM Touch 2017- even enabling crossplay so some extra speed is gained. Enabled Holland, England down to League Two and France's Ligue 1 and 2.

My intentions aren't super crazy, i'd love to do a relatively straightforward, almost FIFA like RTG with Morecambe and hopefully bring them to the PL. I've made myself unsackable so the only real 'game over' here is when i'd get relegated from the League Two. And even then I don't mind trying again in one of the other leagues i've activated.

So far, the impressions are very good. Stuff's wayyyy quicker to process and that gives me hope I can finally do more than 3 seasons on one save. As for the results?

unknown.png

Absolutely passable, we either win big or lose big. That's more than enough for us to stay afloat luckily. I'd be happy if we finished where we are now considering the media predicted us to finish 23rd. From there it's onwards and upwards. I hope.

Recently started an unemployed Sunday League rep journeyman and managed to land the Port Talbot Town after a few months. At the end of season two, and with the help of my long throw cannon Jake Phillips (and his main benefactor Joel Molyneaux who only came into the U19s the previous season) we've managed an unlikely second tier and Welsh Cup double, teeing us up for the Europa Conference League First Qualifying Round next season along with our promotion to the top flight. We also finished as runners-up in the League Cup (leading for about half an hour in the final but deservedly losing 2-1 to Aberystwyth) in a season that wildly exceeded my expectations.

Having looked like we bottled the league, we went into our final game on the Saturday knowing that our local rivals Afan Lido had tripped up first placed Carmarthen in the Friday night game, and a victory by two or more goals would be enough to move back into first place where we'd spent most of the season. A 3-1 win at Cambrian & Clydach saw us over the line thankfully.

Between that conclusion to the league season and the dramatic Welsh Cup final in which we took a shock three-goal lead within 17 minutes and then shut up shop for most of the game (the goals came from our favourite sources; a long throw goal, goalkeeper kicking long over the top to set up a 1v1, and a direct free-kick), I don't think I've ever had such a thrilling handful of games on FM, certainly not for a good few years!

This is slightly disappointing. When we performed well, we performed REALLY well. When we performed poorly, we performed REALLY poorly. Eventually it cost us a very doable top half finish. And there's less money available for player salaries next season. Oh deary me.

As for positives, it's still way above expectation and Rhys Turner ended up being player of the season of the ENTIRE League Two, as well as being top scorer. That's the first time i've had that happen and it makes me feel pretty proud we could hold on to him for another few seasons. Hopefully with the lesser budget we can find some good loan players to help out the core of the squad.

Oldham, Bristol Rovers, Gillingham and Swindon join us from the League One, York and Wrexham from the National League.

This game's really fast. I like that a lot honestly. That's how I wanted it to be.

A couple of months after this I've just taken the TNS job on a two year deal, after their old one got sacked following their cup final humiliation that I inflicted. It feels really dirty to take the job as I had grown fond of Port Talbot, but the chance to move to the best team in the country by some margin is just too good for me to turn down in a journeyman save.

Just started my first FM21 save as my own club, Notts County. Not sure whether it'll turn into a thread yet, so will start here and see what happens.

There's a tidy squad already at the club, but I've brought in another striker, another centre back and a winger on one-year loan deals, and signed a new central midfielder for £26,000. I'd like to think we're now in contention to meet the board's target, which is to get back into the EFL. There's a decent amount of money in the bank too in late August (just shy of £900,000) so I'm hopeful they'll make a bit more money available if I need to strengthen in January.

Just started my first FM21 save as my own club, Notts County. Not sure whether it'll turn into a thread yet, so will start here and see what happens.

Six league games in, five wins and one crazy defeat. I'm a little alarmed that almost the entire first team squad are out of contract next summer, but that's lower league football, I suppose.

Oh, and we've drawn Mansfield away in the FA Cup first round. Could have done without that tbh, but the board expect us to progress.

Was just thinking "this is a bit easy" and then the injuries came. Both left backs, two of four strikers, my best centre back and my BTB midfielder, all within 10 days. It's now a major challenge keeping players fresh.

So I am in two minds about putting a full thread for this.

I started a journeyman and my first job was in Germany with Unterhaching in the third tier.  I was tasked with saving the club from relegation.  We rose to as high as fourteenth before going on a nine game winless run and getting relegated on the last day of the season.  I was sacked.

Moved to Scotland and Arbroath in the second tier.  Currently fourth in the table roughly half way through the season.

Sounds like a good thread if you're going to stick with it, chief.

Thank you.

Second season is finished and it was a great one.  Managing Arbroath , we finished runners up in the Championship.  We were top of the pile with a handful of games to go but lost form.  We won the playoffs though and secured promotion to the top flight.

My contract is up and there are a few tasty jobs available.  I don't think I will sign a new one.

I left Arbroath and joined Newcastle in the Premier League. We were bottom on arrival with around twenty games left. We went on a mammoth nineteen game winless run and were relegated with four games to play. My job is listed as Very Insecure so hey ho.

Arbroath to Newcastle?! That's some jump...

I was applying for everything and they gave me the job.  Unrealistic, I agree.

Next season is finished.  I won the Championship with 114 points and reached the F. A. Cup final before losing to Liverpool.

Just had the craziest injury time of any FM game I have had...

3-1 up going into the 96th minute. By the 97th minute we are at 3-3. At nearly 100 minutes we get a winner. Mental!

Bet you were fuming at +7 and +8 lol

You would think going 3-1 up at +3, yep good wrapped up the win, I have had many crazy games on FM but nothing like that.:)

I use instant result and had to double take when it popped up! Think if I was watching the match something may have been broke! :D

Still at TNS in my journeyman save, due to a house move and the absurd number of games my team have to play, my progress has become quite slow.

Look at that for a fixture schedule! The timing of the 2022 World Cup certainly doesn't help matters. The Europa Conference League is proving fantastic for finances and we're putting in some respectable performances but don't really look like winning games, I think it's about time we get knocked out of something for the sake of our players' legs. £173k paid out for every win (not expecting any of these) and £57.57k for every draw (ground out a couple so far!), on top of a nice lump sum of about £2.75m for reaching the group stage. I'm 3 or 4 games behind the other teams in the league due to our continental and Scottish commitments, but it's fun to play in these new competitions I've never tried before, plus we've now got £3.5m in the bank.

Looking forwards, I feel like TNS is a nice opportunity for me to build my reputation and win some more silverware before heading to an English Football League team perhaps. I've now got the Scandinavian top divisions loaded too, so that could be an interesting alternative path to the top assuming things go well.

I'm doing a youth only save on the side of my main save. You can tell I've never managed at the lowest level where there isn't relegation as I didn't know that was a league objective!

If people are wondering what league this is,it is tier 10 in Austria!

Should mean you are unsackable at least :D. In my youth only I started in Vanarama national south. Slogged it up to the PL now but I would say it would be much easier due to the youth level in England!
